    Classic Egg Drop Sandwich
    Deisha L.

I really wanted to love this place, and I still believe it has the potential to become one of my favorites. I've visited twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast, and each time I was excited by the atmosphere. Today, I returned to try the Chantilly matcha latte and the classic egg drop sandwich. Unfortunately, the Chantilly matcha was not available, so I opted for the strawberry matcha latte instead, which turned out to be fantastic. The breakfast sandwich was also delicious. The decor is stunning, and I loved the music. The lighting, thoughtfully selected fixtures, and furniture create a warm, cozy, and moody ambiance. It's a space that truly appeals to the senses. While the flavors and atmosphere shine, the service and overall organization could use some improvement. During both visits, I was not greeted upon entering, nor was I given any guidance on how to order. The only question I was asked was, "What's your name?" There was also no mention of seasonal specials. Placing my order and waiting for my food took quite a while. I understand the menu notes that wait times may be up to 45 minutes because everything is cooked to order. However, that seems excessive for items such as sandwiches, toast, and lattes. I also noticed staff refilling whipped topping while other baristas moved at a slow pace. Restocking should ideally be completed before busy hours rather than during peak service. Additionally, writing customers' names on cups or containers would help staff identify orders more efficiently. I noticed some confusion about who had ordered what. Branding on cups and containers would also be a nice touch. Mine, along with several others, was plain, even though I have seen branded packaging featured on social media. Consistently incorporating those details could further elevate the customer experience. I hope this feedback is helpful because I genuinely want to see Black-owned businesses thrive and grow.

Was so excited to try it and wanted to love it, but it missed the mark for us :( I went to try the Chantilly matcha which they didn't have. And, although we had been in line a while, by the time we got up to the register they said they stopped serving food 5 minutes ago (it was over 30 minutes before close). Matcha was okay and the strawberry refresher was extremely sweet.

I stopped by on a Sunday morning, but the line was out the door, so I decided to return the next day. I originally wanted to try their espresso, but the machine was down, so I went with the brown sugar cinnamon matcha instead, and I'm glad I did because it was delicious. I also ordered the salmon toast and the French toast egg sandwich, and both were fresh, flavorful, and really satisfying. Even though I missed out on the espresso this time, the food and matcha made for a good visit.

Was here visiting from California and had to stop in to get my coffee fix a couple of times. The sandwiches were a hit and had the latte on one visit and the strawberry matcha on the next the both didn't disappoint. Service was long but that just shows you how popular they are. The coffee shop was small but well designed and easily located. It didn't disappoint.

Came here for the first time during Essence Fest weekend so of course there was a line outside. The line moved quickly and one of the servers made sure to check on everyone in line and provide cold waters to everyone, which is 10/10 service already. Since it was Essence fest, they had a condensed menu but came for the amazing egg sandwich. Lovely and slick space on the inside. The egg sandwich was just as good as it looked. Made to order. Fresh and filling. Will definitely be a regular.

BMP & GRND has nested their new home on Carondelet, previously homed Yo Nashi. The aesthetic of luxury greets you upon entry. They still have the same counter bar set up but now serves breakfast. I only ordered the egg drop sand which I thought was tasty. Soft scramble eggs, crispy bacon, a slice of American cheese hugged between two buttery toasts drizzled with this spicy sauce. Idk if it's spicy mayo, tastes like it lol they serve matchas, refreshers, and coffee. Limited menu. Staff was so nice! Wait time was about 30 mins. Definitely would come again. Only issue was the line flow. It caused confusion and was a cramped. Overall, would return!

I ordered the ultimate banana pudding matcha and it was delicious! They ran out of the cold foam but the banana pudding on top of the matcha incredible. Also ordered the classic egg drop and it was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The brioche bread takes it to a whole other level! I do wish they had signage on the door because I walked past the shop at first. Overall amazing experience and great food!

Rating: 9.5/10 One of the better cafes in the CBD, Bmp & Grnd is a new business serving an array of specialty items in the shop. It's got a beautiful aesthetic and a great ambiance inside. The baristas were great with service and ordering. I was able to try the Egg Drop sandwich ($15), brown sugar matcha ($9) and the famous banana pudding ($7). Everything was so delicious. The breakfast sandwich bread was so soft and the sauce that's on it is so good. The only downside is parking, typical of the area. But it's worth it to get the food!

Fast service! Cute little shop with a nice chill atmosphere. We stopped by BMP & Grnd for breakfast, and it was the perfect way to start the day. The breakfast sandwich was fresh, filling, and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. Paired with a smooth, well-balanced latte, it was exactly what I needed before exploring the city. I'd definitely make this a repeat stop on my next trip to New Orleans.

Absolutely delicious banana cream latte! The decorations are very classy and i'm honestly drooling thinking about the thick cold foam they use. All the syrups and add ons are made in house and you can tell! Truly an amazing cafe.

New Black-owned coffee shop in the CBD is a must try. I recently heard about this spot on Instagram and decided to give it a try Saturday morning after the gym with my friend. Was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, this is not your average coffee shop. This place is giving high end coffee and breakfast spot, the ambiance is beautiful, I mean what coffee spot you know that has a chandelier. We decided to get the berry Chantilly coffee, breakfast burrito, and hot honey avocado toast. Everything was delicious. The eggs in the burrito were so fluffy and cooked to perfection. They did have a line so be prepared to wait. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Highly recommend giving this place a try next time you're in the CBD. Be prepared to pay to park

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

On the one hand, it was maybe the least interesting bar in New Orleans. On the other, it was a totally solid conference bar. I wandered in throughout the day and wound up there most nights, for hours of socializing with wonderful friends and colleagues. The space was pretty generic, par for the course for a giant Marriott. If you've ever been in a chain hotel lobby, you can probably close your eyes and conjure the carpets. There was lots of seating, though, and it was a comfortable, easy place to hang out. A convenient meeting point even when I did end up leaving the hotel. The bartenders were decent, though it was hard to get their attention when the place was busy. I had a hell of a time paying for my very wise and virtuous afternoon Diet Pepsi. That was the only non-alcoholic beverage I got here. The rest of the conference, I drank draft Abita and bourbon, and several solid Sazeracs, with rye, Herbsaint, Peychaud's bitters, and simple syrup. If you're a tourist in New Orleans, please don't drink at 55 Fahrenheit. Save your time and health for the myriad bars that await you outside the Marriott. But if you're there for a conference with a lot of fun people, grab a Sazerac and sit down.

The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself.
