Wow! Maybe name may not be the best but we had a really great time at Wakin bacon for our last day! We were immediately seated in the upper area, in a nice little room. Lots of artwork adorned the walls. Our waitress was awesome and came by quickly for the drink order, delivered it quickly, too. I chose the heart healthy omelet because of the description of shrimp, spinach and avocado... and was oh-so-delicious and would get it again. The others I traveled with got the Sourdough king sandwich , the Meat monster omelet and The Usual and all were also reported to be delicious! The cold coffees may have had a bit too much ice and not enough coffee but was still yummy. It's convenient and not far from Jackson Square. Very tasty breakfast spot! An easy walk from our Airbnb and when the hostess saw us rolling our luggage inside she immediately offered to store it behind the counter so it was out of the way. The inside is brightly colored with tons of art work on the walls and there is plenty of seating. I had the Confit'o Burrito which was flavorful and the perfect amount of food. My friends had the Sourdough King sandwich and were obsessed with the fresh sourdough toast. The lattes are delicious as well! read more

The food was amazing--full of flavor and probably the best breakfast we had while visiting. The service was excellent, and I really appreciated how our waitress catered to my kids. The dining room is nice and cozy. It is a bit tight, but manageable--we were able to fit comfortably even with my 8-month-old stroller positioned between our table and the one behind us. The only downside was the lack of a ramp for wheelchairs or strollers, which could be challenging for guests with disabilities. read more

This breakfast place was a block from our hotel. Ordered a chai and an omelet with grits. We were there when they opened so were seated pretty quickly. Service was quick. and we were able to eat, walk around a bit after breakfast before going on a tour. What a great neighborhood cafe. read more

Sourdough King was PHENOMENAL!! One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Slap some hot sauce on that bad boy and your taste buds will be dancing like it's Fat Tuesday. Even when it's hot outside, you can stop in here to cool down, get a strong coffee and amazing food. Breakfast is served. Not into the greasy spoon thing so I was looking for something more local and relatively healthy (I'm not sure I succeeded). I had the OG Bowl one morning and the Super Bowl the next. Both were fantastic. Really cool eclectic place and nice servers. This place is so cute! Very clean, nicely decorated you can buy local art which is neat. Prices are pretty reasonable! I had "the usual" and it was really good! The homemade biscuit was great and not dry, eggs were cooked perfectly. Wasn't too fond of the chai tea latte, it tasted good but was gritty from the topping. The rest of our group had the king sourdough sandwich which they said was great and the power bowl which was also good but very heavy on the beans. Our server was nice and answered all our questions and made sure there was no cross contamination with a food allergy at our table! Fresh OJ was great! read more

My wife and I had breakfast at this cozy restaurant in the French Quarter. We were treated to Motown music and good service. I ordered Pancakes. It really was pancakes, plus eggs and sausage ( or bacon) It was very good. I just had a comfortable feeling about this place. The ambiance was relaxed and the murmur was low. Just Motown over the speakers. I'm not sure when I'll be in New Orleans again, but I definitely will drop in again when I do. read more

Only downside was that hubs iced tea was the lightest, most watered down tea I've ever seen. The Turtle Iced coffee was good but not a lot of actual drink with so much ice. read more

I had the tofu hash bowl which had all my favorite ingredients but since it didn't have any sauce, I found it a bit bland. The latté was tasty.
