BMW will remind you when service is due, but apparently not when your $1,000+ prepaid maintenance plan is about to expire. I learned my coverage had expired just 2 days earlier. BMW confirmed they do not send expiration reminders and expect customers to track it themselves through the app or website. Several dealerships told me this happens all the time. 1. Never buy an extended service warranty from BMW, its basically worthless as it only covers filters, wipers, and nonsense. 2. Make sure they SMOG the car before you buy, these guys sold me a used 340ix and I never got the plates, the reason is that they didn't smog the car, so I had to drive it back to them and wait for them to smog the car at their shop 30 minutes from my home. 3. After I smogged car a warning came up for an oil change. So it hadn't even been serviced. This is on a 1 year old M 340ix no smog, no service, and they bitched about everything and then they try to sell you extended warranty. I went for service work here 2 times, the last time was 2 hours and they had no oil filters. Who schedules an oil change with no filters? Its a shit show for sales and service, so bad I started going to Peter Pan in Millbrae. Now it seems Peter Pan doesn't honor the warranty either. I never had a problem with my Acura's or Hondas. Never again with either of these shitty dealers, small shops here I come. read more

This is the second horrible experience I've had with the service department at BMW Mountain View, and it's extremely disappointing. I received a call from the dealership saying I could bring my car in for free servicing and an oil top-up. I explicitly confirmed on the phone that this would be free, and they said yes. I also told them I planned to wait at the dealership, and they said the service would take about 1 to 1.5 hours, which seemed reasonable. When I arrived, the story suddenly changed. I was told it wasn't actually free, and given a vague explanation that it was handled by "customer service" and not the service department. Instead, they immediately tried to sell me a 2-year service package, which I declined. I then asked them to simply do the oil top-up. At that point, I was told it would take more than 3 hours because it was lunchtime. When I asked for a loaner car, they said none were available. I asked to speak with a manager, and initially I was told to wait. After waiting, I was then told the manager wouldn't arrive for quite some time, leaving no way to resolve the situation. At that point I had already wasted a couple of hours dealing with misinformation, upselling attempts, and poor communication, so I had no choice but to leave. Calling customers in with incorrect information about free service, changing the story once they arrive, and then leaving them without any resolution is extremely unprofessional. This is now the second bad experience I've had with this service department, and it seriously undermines trust in this dealership. read more

Poor workmanship and lack of quality control at this location led to multiple issues. I brought my BMW here for rear brake pad replacement and tire installation. Unfortunately, both services had workmanship problems that ended up causing significant inconvenience and additional diagnostic visits. 1. Tire installation issue The day after the service, one of the newly installed rear tires rapidly lost air pressure while driving. When I took the car to BMW Fremont (same AutoNation group), they found that the tire had been improperly installed and pinched, which caused the severe air loss. This is a basic installation error that should never happen at a BMW dealership. 2. Brake service issue leading to scraping noise A few days later, a loud and rhythmic metal scraping noise started from the rear brakes. The noise occurred only while driving and disappeared immediately when braking, which is consistent with a dust/heat shield interference -- an issue commonly caused by improper alignment during brake installation. When I sent the video of the noise to my original advisor at Mountain View, he confirmed that it sounded like a dust/heat shield touching, meaning it was likely installation-related. 3. Resulting in unnecessary visits and wasted time Because of these two workmanship issues, I had to bring the vehicle back on multiple occasions, spend hours waiting, and undergo additional inspections at a different AutoNation BMW dealership. Neither issue should have happened if the work had been performed correctly the first time. 4. Quality control needs serious improvement I expect a BMW dealership -- especially one under AutoNation -- to deliver reliable, precise, and careful service. Instead, two different services performed on the same day both resulted in avoidable problems. I have opened a case with BMW North America regarding the workmanship concerns and hope that the dealership reviews its quality control and technician oversight to prevent this from happening to other customers. This would've been a 0 star review if that was allowed. I purchased 2018 BMW M2 from BMW of Mountain View with a boost leak that their techs never discovered, which I found on my first drive. They never disclosed the car had check engine lights. They also never disclosed that the car would take over 2 weeks to ship to Texas. And to top it off, they refused to send a copy of the title to allow me to register the car, so now I have a giant paperweight in my driveway. read more

Sales - Do they want your business? No. When I bought my IX, I had to fight to get a test drive, then the saleswoman knew absolutely nothing about the car. When I called to see if it was ready for pickup, she said it had to be filled with gas first. ITS AN ELECTRIC CAR. Expect better service at a local Target than when buying a car from this place. Service - When I can actually bring the car in for service, they seem to be good. BUT try to call and talk to a real human being and expect incredible frustration. It took me four days of calling, being put on hold repeatedly for more than 20 minutes, then leaving messages - to never actually get a call back. So I called Stevens Creek BMW and got a real person the first time. Guess I won't be going back to mountain View even though its closer. As a loyal customer who has owned three BMWs, me and my wife are deeply disappointed by how BMW North America have handled our 2021 330e (under 38,000 miles). We bought it new in 2021 from BMW Mountain View. The car asked us to pull over when my wife was driving in the night back in early March. Car has been in shop for 3.5 months since then for multiple related failures to do with cooling system, engine overheating, AC failures. They have replaced multiple parts, but not yet released the car since the signs are indicating failures. BMW NA is picking up the cost to fix the issue as a part of goodwill. Considering the situation with lots of unknowns about the parts and how to put it back together correctly, this is expected. The dealer has been responsive and have provided a loaner car to give them credit. We raised the issue with BMW NA, and after several weeks they clearly indicated they will not be able to help in buying the car back. No reasons were given. So we have to deal with a new car with a potential unknowns even if the car comes back fixed. We are also outside the warranty period to make matters tricky. My wife and I have been are disregarded as consumers of BMW. I understand we may be one of many other owners who have persistent problems, and we may be a small percentage to them. But, when a car has been built with so many problems, then the car maker should take responsibility, and this will only help in the long run for them. As far as we see, we are payed for a car we bought brand new that we no longer trust to keep our family safe. What if the car asks us to pull over again when we are on a trip far from home. I had an appointment with a sales rep at noon today confirmed via email and text to finalize the purchase of a pre owned vehicle. While making the 1.5 hour trip from Marin to close this deal, 25 minutes before my arrival I received an email from a senior manager that the car in question was not available and was being sold to someone else. The rep I was working with did not show up and the attending manager literally put someone else in the vehicle I had driven down to buy and I watched it drive off the lot. I will never trust BMW of Mountain View with my car again. I brought in my 540i for a simple tire replacement on the left front wheel, and when I picked it up, the wheel itself had been curbed while in their care. This was fresh damage that absolutely was not there when I dropped it off. My service advisor, Branden Casey, and the service manager, Kevin Hagar, admitted fault -- but instead of immediately replacing the wheel with a new OEM part, they tried to push for a "repair" using a third-party vendor. That is completely unacceptable for a premium brand dealership. A refinished wheel is never the same as factory, and any BMW owner knows that. The fact that I had to catch this myself and argue to have the issue properly addressed says everything about the lack of care and accountability at this dealership. If they can't perform a tire swap without damaging a wheel, how can anyone trust them with more serious service? Take photos of your car before and after service if you risk going here. Disappointed with the transparency and pricing here. Brought my car in for a windshield replacement (which was handled through insurance) and mentioned a rear cup holder that wouldn't close. They charged me $349.95 just to inspect the cup holder -- no repair, no parts, just a look -- without clearly informing me upfront that this would be billed separately. When you're already spending thousands at a dealership, being hit with a surprise $350 diagnostic fee for a 10-minute inspection feels like a cash grab. I expected better from a BMW dealership. I should have paid attention to their bad reviews before coming here -- they will bruise your sanity and your wallet. I'm out at least $25k just a week after being pressured and tricked into leasing the wrong car. Not sure what's worse: being lied to during the test drive (which directly influenced my decision to move forward), or finding out afterward that BMW doesn't allow third-party lease buyouts. When I reached out to a competing dealer to get out of this horrible lease, they told me flat out: "BMW brand does not allow 3rd party lease buyouts, unfortunately." So it's BMW's way or a $91k buyout, full stop. And their way isn't much better -- My salesguy at BMW just offered me $72k to trade in this 8 Series back in, $41k under the $113k MSRP!!!. Goes to show you the true value of a BMW. Steer clear of BMW of Mountain View -- and honestly, I'd think twice about the brand as a whole after this costly mistake, as they too had a hand in this shitty deal. read more

WARNING! This dealership misrepresents its cars, and sold me a "like-new" 2025 preowned $100,000 BMW M850i convertible that the sales manager Don assured me had no damage on the wheels. But when it arrived in Dallas one wheel was bent and it costs $1400 to replace it. I immediately contacted the dealership and asked to speak with Don, the GM PJ Roshan and no one will speak with me. No returned calls, no response to emails or written communication from them. Total silence. Who does business like this? This fraud and misrepresentation is criminal and it's no surprise because they are a Autonation owned company which I learned is notorious for this. This would be a 1 star review except that our sales person, Arash Asadizadeh, had excellent follow up and was very direct during our negotiations. I would work with him again if he was at a different dealership. The dealership was a huge let down. I will not buy from any Auto Nation dealership again. This is my 4th BMW purchase, 3 in the last 12 months. I live in San Diego and found the car I wanted being advertised by BMW of Mountain View. My local Auto Nation BMW dealer reached out to BMW of Mountain View (also an Auto Nation dealership) to have the car transferred to San Diego. The Sales Manager at MV ghosted the Sales Manager from San Diego. After several days of effort by San Diego, I called the MV dealership myself. I got Arash on the phone. His Sales Manager refused to sell me the car "because it was in the loaner fleet" at the time. So why was it advertised in 2 publications? Arash went to his General Manager who agreed to sell me the car. However, they refused to transfer it to San Diego unless I had already made the purchase electronically, directly through MV. Obviously, I needed to inspect the car before signing a sales contract, especially since it had 2,800 miles on it as a loaner. So, I had to take the time and expense to fly to San Jose from San Diego and stay overnight at a hotel, in order to drive the car home after inspection and purchase. We scheduled the inspection and contract signing for 9:00, as soon as they opened on a Saturday morning (Arash was not working on Friday and they wouldn't allow us to start paperwork without him). I was promised the transaction would be expedited and the car ready to go so I could get on the road as early as possible. Instead, on Saturday morning the finance department didn't open until 10:00. OK, I will inspect and test drive the car. Well, it hadn't been washed for inspection and had no gas. I drove a short distance with the the low fuel warning message on. While we started paperwork at 10:00 with finance, Arash had to go fuel the car himself. What a let down to him by his Sales Manager. I finally got on the road at 1:30 to make the drive through Easter weekend traffic in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. It took 4 1/2 hours to complete a cash deal that had no further price negotiation or complications, even though it was known we were trying to expedite the transaction. Shame on Auto Nation that the dealerships wouldn't work with each other. Shame on BMW of MV that they would be so inconsiderate of a loyal BMW customer. read more

Beware the bald guy named Branden Casey. I am a returning customer at this location. I usually worked with Wayne who is a very nice staff. Today I was assigned with this Branden. He listed 5 items that he recommended, two of the were included in the insurance and three not. I saw these three cost me $800 and I said I wanted the first two covered items. He said but your car needs the remaining at 3000 miles. I said no, the first two. He said: are u sure? Cuz it's already 6000 miles. I said no. Then later I found that I was charged $700 for the first two items that charged. I had an issue with the price so I talked with him. He was like: "You signed! I'll take care of it but next time you need to make it clear. "I asked him: "So you mean it was my fault? "He said: "Yes, but I said I'll take care of it. "I asked him what was the 3000 and 6000 miles about, he said:" I told you that you are past due!" I said:" I said no!" He said:" I'm not here to argue with you, I said I'll take care of it." It's so typical schemes that when they failed to crook you, they blamed on you for everything. First, I didn't get any copy of docs from him on spot if I signed anything, so there is so much space that he changed the mark afterwards. Next, I've worked very well with Wayne for the past two years and never came up with such matters. Now I was the one who didn't "make it clear". I said the first two, not the first two you charged? I visited BMW Mountain View to discuss purchasing a vehicle and had an extremely unprofessional experience with Sales Manager Jella A. I worked with sales associate Eric, who was helping us initially, he then became busy with other customers. We received a quote with a trade-in value of only $6,000 (compared to $10,000 offered at Stevens Creek BMW). Since Eric was occupied, we didn't get a chance to discuss the price further with him, we decided to leave and potentially continue discussions via text later. When Eric informed his manager that another dealer offered us $10,000 for our trade-in, Manager Jella A responded with shocking sarcasm and hostility. He said "I can give you 100k, 1 million, I can even give you the car for free. Why don't I just give you my house too?" His tone was aggressive and mocking. I wasn't even trying to negotiate price, I was just telling them the fact and trying to leave. The salesperson sitting behind Eric joined in, making similar sarcastic comments. We were simply trying to leave politely to think about our options. This verbal assault was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. I've never experienced such hostile treatment at any dealership. If this is how they treat potential customers BEFORE a purchase, I can only imagine how poorly they would handle any issues after the sale. I cannot recommend this location due to the management's behavior. Customers deserve respectful treatment, especially when politely declining an offer. All customer service channels ignore you. I will never buy from them. We ended the call and I rearranged my Sunday plans since I wanted my wife to ride in the car so we could decide if it was appropriate for us. We arrived at the showroom in that time window and wandered around for a bit trying to see how we should proceed. I hadn't remembered the sales person's name so someone looked up the contact and then he vanished. After waiting around for 10 minutes, someone asked if we were being helped. I told them, "I guess so?" But it seemed not. After another 10 minutes a woman asked if I was being helped and I said, "I'm not sure:" She took down some information and went off. Apparently, she got an low-level associate to approach me and tell me that Jefferey was busy and said that the car was new and might not be available to show (!) This would have been useful information **before** rearranging my Sunday plans to drive out. My phone number was clearly on record, and I would have appreciated a call advising me to reschedule. After another 10 minutes he confirmed that the car was "in the shop" and "unavailable to show." He sheepishly apologized and offered to send photos and videos on Monday. Well, I can see photos and videos without wasting two hours of my weekend and 40 miles of driving. I didn't drive out to request photos. So, it's an hour later after arriving home and I'm still pretty upset. I can't think of any reason I should ever come back to BMW Mountain View. Perhaps you can help me think of some. Between my professional billable hours and mileage rate, I could suggest a bill on the order of $1000. I clearly don't expect that, but I don't appreciate being robbed of my time. --- No manager felt it was worth the effort to reply. I wrote to their central customer service with this information but "Elizabeth B Customer Relations Specialist II, AutoNation, Inc." promised a reply in 48 hours that never came and she ignored follow ups. Avoid BMW Mtn View, AutoNation & their service center + agreements! Purchased used Toyota RAV4 + their VPC coverage. TLDR: THIS place IS A WASTE of $$$ and (too much) TIME!! Supposedly "included" in "every" service is an oil change, multi-point inspections, tire rotation, etc. My 1st attempt to schedule this service was a failure; I made it clear (to a human) I wished to wait, not drop-off, yet I was given an afternoon appointment which is only a drop-off (overnight) slot. I didn't learn this until arriving after rushing there from work. They had no loaner cars. I had to re-schedule to a daytime, much less convenient (for most). Upon arrival the 2nd time, the "service manager" Branden Casey wasn't sure if they even had oil for a Toyota(?)--he sent me to wait and said he would "get back to me asap". While that didn't happen for over 30 mins a very nice receptionist (to be mentioned later) went and inquired for me and informed me they would do my service that day. She even pointed me to a nicer waiting area. Ultimately, my SUV (and I) were there for nearly 2.5 hours. Upon viewing the inspection video they text you, all it showed was my car lifted, nothing detailed under the hood...but the tech did detail my tire wear at 7/32 on both fronts and 8/32 (near new) on both rears. I inspected them and was very sure they had NOT been rotated. I texted/called that "service manager", Branden, several times with no response but finally got him on the phone (a few days later) to ask if my tires were rotated and he admitted, "no" and told me that if I wanted it I had to ask(?), really...!? I said the service agreement states it's included in every service and I told him even the short video indicates they NEED to be rotated (7/32 vs. 8/32) and he tells me that the wear is "appropriate" and I should leave them alone since the rear tires are the "drive" tires. I countered by informing him that the SUV is AWD and the front tires, which bear the engine weight are (unsurprisingly) the ones showing more wear. He had no intelligent response to that, but I asked what the process would be to get them properly rotated and his answer is "make another appointment" and I asked if that means waiting in the queue for 2 hours again to get something done (that should've been done already) and he said that's how they do it. No sense of professionalism at all. Didn't really matter because I'm very convinced this shop is not all that competent in the first place and I doubt they care at all either, esp. if you didn't buy a new BMW from them. Even if you did, don't expect a tire rotation or "included" services, evidently. I cancelled and I'm waiting for the refund on my VPC package(s) because I don't trust this place. The only bright spot there was the aforementioned receptionist at the service checkout counter named Audrey--she genuinely seems to care about people getting flawed service, appointment blunders, long waits without explanation, etc. I truly hope she does well(!) but I'll never step into BMW Mountain View again. I am providing this review anonymously because I fear it would have an unintended impact on an individual if my name is associated with it. I recently ordered and received a car from BMW of Mountain View. The car is great, and my in house experience at the dealership working with the sales team was exemplary. I was very pleased with the overall experience. despite my long explanation below, I would be happy to recommend BMW of Mountain View to anyone, and actually expect to take my mother to them to look into X3 or X5 models to replace her 16 year old 650. However, I was given a survey to rate my experience on a scale of 1-10. I pretty much never rate anything a 10, because to me that means perfect and flawless, and in my opinion, there are always opportunities for improvement. So I provided my sub-10 rating (8), and provided very specific feedback on what I thought could have been done better. Those notes were about the website and responsiveness to questions on the "chat-bot" that left me hanging as I was awaiting delivery of my new car. In response to the survey, I received a call from the sales manager asking about my experience, and indicating that the sales rep is actually dinged for any rating other than a 10. The survey did not specifically ask anything about the sales rep, but rather the overall experience. I provided my rating and feedback that had nothing negative about the sales rep, and now I get to feel guilty about giving him a black mark. I have been in manufacturing and quality management for 25+ years, I understand the concept of delivering products and services with zero-defects. The dealership (and presumably Auto Nation), clearly have a goal to respond to a sub-10 rating to identify room for improvement. This is a good approach to always see what can be done better. BUT... the call I received wasn't about the issues I identified in my survey response, but rather to inform me that my sales rep was taking a hit on his performance evaluation due to me not providing a 10 rating on the overall experience. The manager stated that he wished he had been on-site when I took delivery to have been able to explain this. So the explanation would have been: "Anything other than a perfect 10 rating would reflect negatively on my sales rep." That is an effort to chase a performance rating - NOT TO DRIVE CONTINUOUS IMPROVERMENT. Asking me to rate my overall experience, but informing me that anything but a perfect rating would impact my sales rep is leveraging a personal connection to try to ensure top marks for the dealership. So, my overall experience was great. I am happy with my automobile, I was happy with service and support I received working with my sales rep. However, I was displeased by with their survey policy and follow-up which: 1) made me feel guilty about providing my honest input 2) failed to drive any discussion of the issues I identified, and rather focused on how my rating impacted my sales rep. I am happy to go back to BMW of Mountain View, I consider a 4 out of 5 here on Yelp to be a good rating (similar to an 8 out of 10 on the survey). But I feel I am wasting my time responding to their surveys, since it seems the number is the only thing that ultimately matters, not evaluating and following up on critical feedback. read more

I purchased a 330i in 2018 from BMW of Mountain View. The car was sold to me as a SULEV (as written on the contract). My car shows "Drivetrain Malfunction" error & I apparently need a turbo replacement repair. My research shows this is covered by the BMW SULEV 15 years/150,000 mile warranty. I brought the car into BMW of Mountain View for the service on Friday 5/8. I was told by the representative that he can find no proof that my car is a SULEV and the repair would be $8,520.00 + tax. I showed him the sticker under the hood of my car showing the vehicle emissions rating is SULEV. He believes the sticker may have been a standard on all cars(?) and recommended I contact BMW of North America. The Warranty Dept. representative there told me to check my warranty booklet. Since it isn't written for my car specifically, I fail to see how the pre-printed booklet is relevant in this case but I did look in the booklet. I have now paid $356 for the diagnostics run at BMW of Mountain View and have a car that is under SULEV emissions warranty with BMW but they will not repair it and it is inoperable. read more

We continue to have an excellent experience with the service and loaner departments at BMW of Mountain View. Our service advisor, Branden Casey, remains incredibly responsive and keeps us informed of every step in the process. During this last service appointment we worked with Jorge Martinez in the loaner department. He worked hard to fulfill our loaner vehicle request and was thorough in preparing and inspecting the car before handoff. I had good service in the past. However, recently, I got my personal property stolen during service of my car. The security cameras were unable to find anything. This is very disappointing. Will not go back for future services. read more

Came in for service to get my routine maintenance, brake pads and rotors done. Place didn't seem like they want my business. Scheduling seems difficult, didn't want to give me many options as I'm tight on my schedule. I tried to accommodate different time and day but nothing worked out. Mentioned I'll go and try to schedule with Stevens Creek and an employee made a snarky comment. "You won't like it there" and actually I loved it there. Will be taking my business there as they are more respectful and understanding of my schedule. read more

Understood some had good experiences. Mine was not. Honest feedback: - Artificially prolonged sales process. 2-3 hours, just to wear you down before you get to paperwork when hard selling on warranties and prepaid service agreements starts. Unfortunately said yes to a few this time. Other brands/dealers get you in/out in far less time, and they accept a "no" for service contracts. - Service department very bad. Received my car back from annual service with SOS warning light on. Service representative (Wayne Hong) extremely defensive and unhelpful, trying to blame the issue on me rather than showing accountability. - Check at home - technician had forgotten to re-connect the loudspeaker for SOS call system after replacing the cabin air filter. Either lazy or overworked, or both. - Cancelling the prepaid service agreement through Autonation a protracted (8 weeks) and unfriendly process. Partial refund they gave was a loss on me. My bad for signing in the first place. All in all, not sure if this is Autonation or BMW Mt View specifically, will definitely never go there again. read more

Review is mainly directed to both the Sales and Finance department. Came in a couple weeks ago to solely sell our Porsche as we planned to switch to the dark side and downgrade to a M2. As they appraised the car we looked over their used inventory lot and instantly locked eyes on a gorgeous spec'd M4 Comp. Leo came out and instantly treated us like family. He was very transparent, and communicative throughout the whole process. When we got handed over to the Finance Manager - Shahid - the superb experience didn't end there.
