We got General Tso's Chicken, right amount of heat when we chose very spicy. Kung Pao Chicken at medium spice was still spicy enough to hit our taste buds. Char Siu Chinese BBQ Pork Fried Rice had the right kind of heat and was so good makes me not want to buy any other kind of fried rice. Mandarin Style Beef also had a hit of spice level that was yummy! We got chicken egg rolls and a free chicken low mein as well to round things out. By far the best experience I've had with Bo Asian. As it's located in the La Frontera shopping center near one of Round Rock's busiest intersections, I don't know if you could describe Bo Bistro as a hidden gem, but Bo knows Chinese food and the chefs come through where it counts. The restaurant interior isn't much to write home about; there's plenty of seating, but they seem to do most of their business in takeout. Portions are more than generous, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the chefs are happy to customize the spice and sides to your preference. The Mandarin Style Beef a/k/a Crispy Beef Mandarin Style with broccoli and onions, is perfectly rendered and addictive, as are the popular sweet cream cheese puffs (similar to cheese rangoons). Egg rolls surpass the standard, as does the huge serving of Singapore style rice noodle (available with chicken or shrimp). I look forward to trying more of their specialties in the coming year. Bo's is a family-owned eatery and not a chain, so I'm especially happy to support it. Went twice in 2 days. For dinner we ordered general tso, hung pao chicken and shrimp, shrimp with cashews, wonton soup, hot and sour soup, and pork egg rolls. All were excellent and served piping hot and server was fantastic. Mild is a a little too mild so waitress offered pepper oil and I was able to bring to perfect heat. The house mustard is also very tasty and perfect on the eggroll with sweet and sour sauce. For lunch the next day we ordered the lunch specials with egg drop soup and very crispy vegetable egg rolls. I got the combo lo mein and my sister ordered triple delight. The spicy in the triple delight was too hot for me so will order mild and spice to my taste with pepper oil but will def order as everything was fresh. This place came up when we were looking for some good pot stickers. The whole dine-in experience was weird. The place was super hot with no air conditioning and we had to turn on and move a fan so it was semi-bearable. I ordered this from Doordash. I asked for sweet and sour sauce to go with the 5 eggrolls that I ordered. They charged me an extra $6 through Doordash JUST for sweet and sour sauce!!! If I ordered 5 eggrolls (plus other food), the sweet and sour sauce should be free!-or at the very least, WAY less than $6. They are taking advantage of Doordash's policy of allowing them to charge for extras while totally blindsiding the customer. Stumbled upon this restaurant after walking the wrong way from my hotel. I came on a tuesday night and it was completely empty, so I decided to give it a shot. It was nice and quiet which was perfect for me. First thing I noticed was that there were a lot of to-go orders, which must mean the food is solid. The gentleman recommended the Crispy Beef and I added a few sides as well to the order. The sides were solid, but the crispy beef was really good. Very bad experience, it was a terrible day to start with. I found a worm in the rice. It's normal for rice to sometimes have a rice worm in it. You could see it wasn't rice; it had a black tip; it was a worm. The cook was really mad, he was throwing everything away. He had no desire to work, or he was just being annoying. We just picked up food from Bo. I have hesitated because the food seemed a bit more "Americanized" and I really like authentic (menu in Mandarin or Cantonese) Chinese food. We ordered for 6 people and tried: eggplant with garlic sauce, triple delight, mandarin beef, salt and pepper chicken and walnut shrimp. We also ordered the pork dumplings. Their ordering process was fast snd easy. The food is as ready quickly, they kept the crispy stuff and it's accompanying sauces separate (yay!), and our order was perfect. Knowing that this isn't super traditional Chinese food, but because of the overall great experience and meeting expectations for the dishes I ordered, they deserve 5 stars. I get really spoiled live in Houston Texas. If Houston Texas we have the absolute best food in town. I've been all over the US all over Texas and out of the country and no one can touch our food in Houston Texas. So a lot of times I hold a higher standard to restaurants because when you have the best food it's hard to take less than the best. Here is my review. Food: The food was OK. The general Tsos chicken was not as great as I thought it was gonna be per the pictures. Per the picture of the dish looks really good. We had a good to go because it was NOS indoor seating. We were literally three minutes away at a hotel and we were not far away so I'm not sure why the chicken was soggy. Do you know sauce chicken should be crispy. And this was kind of soggy. The fried rice was OK. The eggrolls all right. The crab ragoons were OK. Everything was just OK. Nothing was special. I guess that's why I'm giving them three stars. Customer service: The customer service was really good. I should probably almost give them four stars because the customer service was great. The people were very nice, very friendly and even though they were very busy they got our food out really quick. But I think I'm gonna have to stick with three because the food was just OK. It was not terrible it was not great it was simply middle of the road. Maybe next time I'm in town I will give them another shot. Once again it was all right. After second thought I'm gonna have to give them four stars because their customer service was really legit. So yeah they're gonna get four stars. read more

This used to be a great place. It's been a while since I've last been here. I wasn't expecting the take-out ombiance. Order at the register, no itemized receipt (had to ask), tip or no tip? We were pointed in the direction to get drinks ourselves. Food came out quick and was fair. Men's bathroom was extremely dirty. Wife says women's bathroom was okay. I have always loved Chinese food and enjoy trying new places but I feel like customer service in the restaurant industry has really gone downhill since Covid. A friend who lives nearby recommended this place so I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately I was really discouraged by the bad attitude of the woman who brings the food to the table. Today I was craving Chinese food again and found myself back here but the moment the same rude woman brought my food I remembered why I never came back. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you but her attitude is awful. She practically throws the plate on the table with a dismissive "here you go." When I asked if they had crispy noodles for the soup I got an abrupt "no." When I asked if they had chives it was the same dismissive "no." It is frustrating because the food is good but rude customer service completely ruins the experience. If I lived nearby I might consider takeout just to avoid dealing with her but I live far so I will remember next time good food is not worth bad service. Out and about with the family and this humble restaurant caught our eye, and I'm sure glad it did. Surprisingly slow for the amount of flavor and generous portion, we enjoyed every layer this meal offered. The egg drop soup was a trusty starter, and we were only a few slurps in before the other food started rolling out, hot and fresh. The noodles were a perfect blend of savory with a hint of smoky sweetness, and it was a bonus they came with no veggies because we ordered for the children. The lunch orders of sesame and orange chicken were crispy, with good ratio of breading to meat, and the mandarin style beef is a must try with tender steak with just a slight spice. Never Again: Big disappointment & waste of our $$: Arriving about 6pm, Inside restaurant looked like closing time, Half of the tables had chairs stacked on them, heavy smell of bleach in air and person sitting in front of a tv. We went to window to order & no one was there. Shortly thereafter, person gets up from chair in front of tv, whom is "the chef" & goes behind window to take our order. We placed an order for Lemon chicken for $ 15.50 & Triple Crown for $18. We received food in carry out bag with no utensils or napkins. We were not asked if order was "for here or to go" Lemon chicken was thickly breaded with very little & very chewy meat. Husband said "This is awful". The lo mein noodles were good. All the food in the Triple Crown was almost tasteless, very little brown sauce. Triple Crown had a very weird aftertaste, similar to hint of bleach? We ended up frying some eggs to eat instead. I've been determined to find decent Chinese food in Austin and thought Bo Asian would be it, but I was far from impressed. I ordered delivery from Bo Asian and was promised a 30-40 minute wait, but my food came over an hour later. At that point my meal was luke warm and soggy. It was also incredibly messy. My meal came in a plastic bag and there was sauce leaked all the way through, some even dripping on my floors and counters. The food itself wasn't great either. I ordered General Tso's Chicken and added broccoli which went for ~$15. The portion was fairly big, but most of the chicken was too fatty and gooey to eat. The sauce was also very watery and didn't have much consistency to it. Unfortunately, the broccoli and rice were the only decent parts to the meal. I also ordered two Crispy Pork Egg Rolls ($4.39). These were soaked in grease and almost inedible. The meat was soggy from how much grease was inside the egg rolls... definitely not ideal. This was also heartbreaking personally considering I went super hard at the gym just to enjoy these egg rolls. RIP. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Bo Asian Bistro if you're looking for quality Chinese food. I've had some good Asian food in my life and this was far from the best. read more

The experience was ok. For almost $40 for lunch for 2 people, I would expect better food. The crab puffs were not the best about a 1/5. the Mongolian beef was a 2/5. The fried rice was a 3/5. But the employee who was running the front was not at all friendly. She never smiled, said thank you or hardly anything at all. I really wanted to like this place especially after I read the reviews. I was hopeful. We ordered chicken and broccoli, chicken fried rice, chicken lo mein and sautéed green beans. First, our food didn't look like the pictures on the website. Secondly, the food is bland doesn't have any taste at all...except for the lo mein noodles which were salty. The green beans were spicy but also had no flavor. The lo mein barely had any sauce on it and the noodles are just stuck together. I do recommend this place at all. I found this place on Yelp after looking for Chinese food in the area. Based on the reviews I decided to place two orders for General Tso's chicken. Now it was raining and I phoned in a to-go-order. I arrived there before the 15 minutes time they said it was going to take for the food to be ready. I waited probably an extra 10 minutes to finally get my food. I wasn't offered any water or anything to drink. I ended up purchasing a fountain drink while I waited. After I got home I shared the other order with my wife and I hurried up to eat the General Tso's chicken while it was hot. My order was good, meaning nothing was weokf with it the food was little bit more on the greasy side, but tasted good and I had steamed white rice with mine and broccoli. My wife and I even started sharing some of our food with our twin children. Here's is where it goes down hill. My wife found a HAIR embedded in her food. Now it's a different color hair compared to what she has on her head. You can see that in the included picture. Now we did call the restaurant and they promised to give us another order. To be honest I would have rather have my money back. However it gets worse...they messed up the replacement order as well and didn't get that right either. Unfortunately my experience wasn't good and for me hair in my food is unacceptable because it's a sign of uncleanliness. Also the customer service as I mentioned before wasn't the best and they failed when I gave them a second chance on the replacement order. This joint, tucked into a high-end strip mall in this business district, offered surprisingly good Chinese fare. Lunch time brings out their daily specials all priced reasonably and including an egg roll, rice, and your choice of soup (wonton or hot and sour). Hot and sour soups is delicious and does not have that cloying taste that some restaurants seem to have.I especially enjoyed the General Tso's chicken (spicy but not overly so), and the beef lo mein. Service is friendly and prompt. Office workers in the area can order, be served, eat, and be on their way without worrying about getting back late to the office. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I have been here a couple of times now and I will separate my rating by food vs service. Both times I have come w/friends and have done the dine-in option. I think after both times, I will just be making my order to-go from now on. Service=2stars The service here is painfully slow! Just getting acknowledged or even to get a menu has been a challenge both times as the place was basically empty when we got there. It looks like a majority of their business is for delivery and that seems to be where their focus is, even if you have sat yourself at a table. After that, just getting your order taken or even your drinks is at a snails pace. The last time we were there, we finally got our drink orders taken and then waited for what felt like forever for them because the guy who took our order (I would imagine he's the owner) then proceeded to take a couple of phone orders and then bring out orders for delivery pick-up from the kitchen before even filling our drinks. Once our food orders were placed, they came out somewhat quickly. Food=3stars I have only tried their egg rolls, mongolian beef, and shrimp lo mein and all three have been pretty good. Large portion sizes for the price, though it looks like you get a much better value on their lunch specials vs their dinner pricing. I have yet to try their lunch special, but will do so next time. The shrimp lo mein is not amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but the number and size of the shrimp are generous and it isn't overly greasy/oily and has good flavor, which is what has brought me back. Their actual lo mein is decent as well and has a generous noodle portion (not the overly veggied/cabbage you tend to get at a lot of other places). This restaurant is great! We've ordered from them several times and they are always customer-friendly and the food is delicious! The manager is very helpful, and they seem to always look out for their customers. Tip: DON'T order from doordash! They are gouging the restaurants with fees and stealing the deliveries. Call the restaurant directly if you want a fresh, hot meal exactly how you ordered it. Really great and affordable Chinese! What I had: - Vegetable Egg Rolls: Meh, these were fine and par for the course. They were kinda bland and the texture was fine if but if a tad stringy (with the cabbage). I might get these again, but they were super meh. - Pork Egg Rolls: Another MEH staple. I'll keep that in mind... Dunno if I'd get it again... - Sesame Chicken: Yuuuuum! The chicken was juicy, tender, and not dry or over-cooked at all. I would def get this again. - Mongolian Beef: Just plain tasty! Not oily or bland. Beef was tender. I def enjoyed this. - Egg Drop Soup - Came with wonton crispies, and it was super yummy! I will choose this soup from now on in the future. - Wonton Soup - Bleh, pretty bland. Avoid it in the future. - Rice: Pretty fine but not the best.
