This bagel shop used to be top notch but has severely gone down in customer service. Repeatedly they have messed up on our orders. We place orders ahead of time because we need to be somewhere at a certain time and go out of our way to go here. Today I placed a phone order at 8:45 picked up at 9am and Kaylee said we don't have anymore blueberry. I told her that is why we called in an order and if you were out why didn't you guys say anything. She shrugged her shoulders and said I don't know. Then I called to talk to a manager and she answered with another dumb answer, I don't know when the manager is here. This place needs to hire better help. I wish I could give this place 5 stars, the owner is a really nice sweet guy whose always wanting to make his customers happy. However, I've gotten food poisoning from Boardwalk twice. The first time was due to a microwaved egg that landed me bed ridden for 2 days and the second was from the CCAT bagel. Which until today, I'd never had a problem with. Maybe my stomach is too sensitive, maybe its something in the dough? whatever the case, I can't risk getting sick like this again. Forewarning guys. read more

I've been going to this shop for over 10 years. It's changed owners at least 6 times, and the guy who owns it now is by far the best!! He is so friendly, and so are the rest of the staff. I was in there yesterday and a gentleman in a wheelchair asked if he could plug in his chair for a few minutes. I think this would annoy most people, but I was pleasantly surprised when they moved a table so he could access an outlet, and offered him a free cup of water. They really didn't mind helping and wanted him to be comfortable. I thought that was awesome. I get the blended mochas (soo yummy) and a bagel, I've never ventured out and tried anything else. For those who complain about the service, perhaps you should check how you treat people first. These poor guys have to be there at like, 4:30 in the morning. So by the time you roll up at 8 having caffeine withdrawals and demanding your non-fat, soy, almond milk, double foam, extra shot, extra large latte mocha whatever-chino, they are already exhausted, understandably!!! So why don't you show a little compassion and just slap on a smile. They make good coffee! And dirty? Really?? NEVER have I seen this place dirty. I expect to see crumbs...they serve bagels!! Helloooooo. There's no dust, or bugs, the floors are not sticky, it's just been beautifully remodeled, what else do you want?? First time here and now I'm going to be a regular because the customer service was Excellent, especially during a time when there is so much more cleaning safety work to do on top of normal job duties, they still went above and beyond. I have been going to this café for quite a while, but recently, I have come to recognize just how cozy and wholesome this place is. Today, I realized that this is an away station for me, in my shopping and errand running route. I stop in and get their delicious hot chocolate and bagels and a fruit cup and sit in the comfortable little couch with the table and read magazines. It is only for 15 minutes, but that time is great for recharging and regrouping and relaxing. I wish you could see what the chocolate looks like and the attention to detail with the design in the foam. It brought a smile to my face. I'm only giving this place 2 star because of the bad service I've gotten. It was my first time coming here today. I came for breakfast because I was craving for Bagels with eggs. The Pro's: I ordered the Ultimate Breakfast on choice of Bagel. It came with eggs, bacons, onions and swissed cheese in a CHEESE Bagel. It was really really good. It was warm, flavorful and soft. I also ordered a Green Tea latte in blended ice, it was kinda like a smoothie. Finally a Bavarian Cremes ($1.50), too bad I only ordered one of these because it was DELICIOUS. Covered with powder sugar, crispy outside but soft in the inside with a sweet creme filling. The Con: The service I got was terrible although the staff were nice and friendly they did not serve me correctly. The cashier who took my order asked if I was dining in or to go and I told her "dining in", but when I got my Bagel, it was wrapped in foil. The girl who gave it to me asked if I wanted a bag for it and I told her NO because I was gonna eat it right away. I just looked at her for a minute and figured she might have forgotten so I let it go. I assumed she cooked it. I got my Bavarian creme in a small bag and finally my Green Tea Latte came out all messy with the excess spilling out of the cup, the girl who gave it to me apologized for it but I was thinking to myself couldn't she at least have cleaned all the excess before serving it to me?. It made a lot of mess on the table. So here I was eating my bagel and bavarian creme just on top of the foil while the other people on their table were eating off from their nice white ceramic plate. Hmm? All I can say is the manager needs to train their staff better in service, especially something common sense like that. Too bad I could have given this place 4 star. I won't be coming back. Been here multiple times because the product is good. That said I will never be returning. There is only a small portion of the staff that has a clue. The most inconsistent service I've ever dealt with. The fist time being here when the manager/owner was in, everything was great. The last 4 times has been a shit show. Staff is rude. Always in a hurry to get you out of the shop. I've been told the pepper packets were off to the side and that "we don't put pepper on the sandwiches" when the two times prior they had. This last time I was ordering 4 items for a few buddies. Was not even allowed to tell him what I wanted outside of what "they do" for the sandwiches. Isn't my sandwich? Did I not just pay for it? I love their bagels here because it's always so fresh although I usually only come here to pick some bagels for our department staff. Today just so happen to be one of those days. I went in to pick up two Baker's Dozen with cream cheese. I asked to have the bagels cut also. This has never been an issue. However, I noticed today that there were only 12 bagels in each box when their menu says 13 bagels for the baker's dozen. I wondered how many times this has happened before without me noticing. I don't typically check how many bagels are in the box and I don't have a habit of counting the bagels they put in the box while in the store. I usually go by their count. They also didn't cut the bagels as I requested. Check your baker's dozen box before you leave the store. Customer service used to be friendlier... not so much today either. read more

Been coming to boardwalk for many years. As you can see from my first review we loved the bagels and the service was always great. Unfortunately this past weekend we called in a pick up order of 5 bagels. The man taking the order was super flustered so I had to keep repeating my order. Before we hung up I had him read the order back to me, "all the bagels toasted". But when my husband came home with the bagels not one of them was toasted as I asked for and even confirmed. My husband got a ham egg and cheese and it wasn't even toasted. So I called to complain and the girl that answered gave the phone right to the owner/manager. Who immediately went on the defensive and told me I need to find a new bagel place and began calling me a liar. He got loud and started talking over me, saying how he watched them make my bagels and that they were toasted. He was just completely disrespectful. I told him we have been coming to his business for years and are loyal customers that I couldn't believe how he was talking to me. I actually became speechless and just told him I didn't want even my money back at this point. He suddenly calmed down and apologized. I'm not sure if he was just having a bad day or what but it truly is a shame. The bagels are yummy and the service until now has been great, only reason my review isn't a 1 star. Victoria- there is no need to be rude and condescending to a customer who did not receive the correct order from this place 3 times in a row. Same issue has been happening to my co-workers when they tried coming here. I nicely asked for the manager because he told me to ask for him the next time I call. The only reason I brought up that Kennedy used to make our bagels great every time because I was confused why you weren't giving me to the manager. The whole reason we showed you guys pictures of how she made our bagel sandwhiches (correct AND friggen delicious) is because that is the reason my coworkers wanted to come here. They always saw my bagel I brought back and it always looked and tasted delicious when she made it. If you don't care then fine- just thought you wanted to know what customers want. Wanted a bagel so sought out this free wifi location. Unfortunately there are no outlets so I will not be able to do everything I had intended. Aside from that slight disappointment, I ordered the cinnamon bagel with half strawberry half blueberry spread and washed my snack down with a pumpkin spice coffee. The bagel is decent (fresh, not too chewy, flavorful) but a tad smaller than my monster bagel craving was demanding. Both spreads are delicious and my bagel was neatly splayed and delivered. Service was sweet and the venue is empty which allows me first pick of where I wish to seat my bagel booty. Soft arm chair in the corner with the wicker table? Or maybe the two seater tables by the window facing traffic? Hmm maybe the boothed tables facing the counter or empty restaurant? Then there's always the bar table by the door. I shall stop contemplating tables at such an empty venue with no especially inspired seat and sit my half satisfied monster bagel caboose by the window while sipping the rest of this just okay coffee and update the rest of my yelp while ease dropping on these 2 females exchange christmas lists. Decided to stop by and give it another shot since the last review when picking up treats for work. Service was by far much better in comparison. The owner was there and he's a really nice guy. The girl helping me out was very helpful too. Picked up a dozen mango cheese rolls to bring to work--mixed reviews at work. They used to have guava cheese rolls, which were pretty good. I would stick with the regular ones. I also ordered an Ultimate Breakfast bagel since I wanted a breakfast sandwich that wasn't from a fast food joint. Bagels have improved--baked all the way through and not too doughy and no raw dough taste this time. Got the sandwich on a jalapeño bagel, with additional jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. The egg patty wasn't overcooked and greasy. Neatly made and wrapped up. I really like how there's tomato, onion, and lemon pepper on it too. Pretty decent. read more
