The ambiance was lovely, with beautiful ocean views visible even from the bar. The décor and seating were very appealing, and the food was enjoyable -- good not great. While the food was good, it did not stand out as exceptional. More importantly, the service left us feeling unwelcome. Our friends were seated at the bar when we arrived, and we asked to move to a table for dinner. The manager (or someone acting as such, though he wore no name tag) insisted our friends finish their appetizer at the bar because it was ordered during happy hour. Even though they had also ordered additional items, we were required to wait. This was particularly disappointing given that nearly all the tables were empty -- it was 4:40 on a Wednesday. Attempted to have lunch with my husband at the Boardwalk Bar and Grill. Waited for over 15 minutes for the waitress who never appeared. The restaurant was not busy and the bartender who was working next to where our table was never alerted anyone that a table was seated by the hostess and was not being waited on. Two ladies were seated outside 15 minutes after we arrived and received water and were immediately greeted by the waiter. My husband and I left disgusted and went to the rooftop restaurant down the street where we were immediately seated, receive prompt service and delicious food. My husband and I just happened to come across this restaurant. So glad we did first of all it was St Patrick's Day and did not have a reservation. The two girls at reception were so nice and got us a table immediately. Our server Ariel could not have been nicer . Our food was delicious and timely. It was lively and the music was great. I've had wonderful experiences here. The drinks that they infuse are genuinely fresh and artisanal - real fruit and herb Infusions- no fake syrups. They don't use seed oils to fry!!! I had some wonton chips as part of the tuna appetizer and commented on how fresh it all tasted without the heavy oil flavor - when I commented on it the server told me that they' fry in tallow!! Went for lunch on a beautiful day overlooking the water sat outside on patio. Great view!! Colin our waiter was so knowledgeable about the terrific drink menu and helped me choose the cucumber breeze. It was so refreshing. My husband and i split the Mediterranean trio appetizer and thought all three dips were fresh and delicious. Then we split the fish tacos which were made of halibut. We arrived on time and were given a very small high top in the bar area. We asked for a table and were told the open tables were reserved . When we mentioned we also had reservations they told us the small high tops was all they had. There were four two tops open and one four top dining table. We usually give a place a second chance if something is off, but I have no desire to go back. The food was ok, but not good enough to overcome the very unaccommodating and rude hostess staff. They almost make you feel like a burden, even with a reservation. It feels like they want to seem busier than they are. The problem is that people have eyes. Please don't tell your patrons you are too busy to meet their needs when the restaurant is half empty, and your food isn't good enough to outweigh the negative vibe from your staff. This is our second time here and once again amazing! The food and service were superb. I always enjoy their handcrafted mixed drinks. last night, I had the shrimp scampi. It has a kick (spicy) to it so I loved it. The shrimp on it were very large and cooked perfectly. My husband had the filet. He said it was one of the best he has had in the area. Cooked perfectly and tender! We sat on the patio and the weather and view was beautiful. They do have indoor seating if you prefer. The patio does have heaters when needed. South Beach Miami prices facing parking lot. We enjoy it but they still have some kinks to work out. Beachgoers use their parking lot, thus we couldn't find a spot for awhile. (Yes we witnessed people taking their beach stuff to the beach after using their parking lot). We have also witnessed beach people using their restrooms (bare feet) so we had to wait since there is only one stall. They said reservations only & directed us to the bar (despite having lots of empty tables) at 4:15 in the afternoon. We are locals and enjoy it, but it is pricy. Food is decent but smaller portions. Cocktails are good but could be better. Also, card only. No cash accepted. read more

We really wanted to try Boardwalk after being told by others that the food was good. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing either for the price they were charging. Also they were out of lobster at 5pm... The server was fine, but the front hosts couldn't care less about you. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 to 1/2 full and we had a reservation for three. I'm sure they expected a busy night being the Saturday before Mother's Day, but why not respect the guest that has made a reservation and shown up for it. They walked us by three or four empty 2 top very small bar tables and tried to put us at one of the 2 tops in the corner. There were 3 people in our party. We were told we should be able to pull another bar chair over. Are you joking? We're out to have a nice Mother's Day meal and you want to put three people at a small bar table squeezed into the corner? I could almost understand if we did not have reservations but we did. Anyway, we asked if they had anything else and were told no and that they were going to be very busy. We walked back up front and asked again. They really didn't seem interested in us at all. We had decided we would probably just go somewhere else, then they asked if we would sit outside. Sure, we live in Florida, why wouldn't you ask us this before saying there were no other tables available? We were seated and were told they would just have to change somebody else's reservation. Yea right. It's not the customer's problem if you are overbooked or didn't think a party of three would like to sit at a table built for 2. The server and meal were fine after that. We did feel taken care of from that point on. We finished eating, the restaurant never filled up, the other tables near us remained empty our entire meal. We really enjoy trying different restaurants, but if you don't care about your clients why should they care about you and come back. First of all I would always come to this beach. And I would see the construction and replacement of the old building. The ambiance is nice, the service is great, and the food was great as well. I met a nice couple who traveled from out of town. They said the wings were great but I had the american wagyu steak and fries with a key lime Martini it wasss sooo good. The bartender explained they cut their steaks in house and I explained my experience with martinis in the past. This one was perfect. I always see people ordering espresso martins, I think the lady next to me ordered that. Maybe in the future I'll give it another try. You can sit outside or inside. It's nice and I came in gym clothes and I wasn't made to feel unwanted. I saw allot of diversity inside. Family oriented. On the beach. A nice date night. It is pricey but I think it was worth it. We were super excited to try this place. New restaurant selections here are pretty slim. Really love the vibe. Open air on a nice day yet still cozy and not cramped feeling when garage style doors are closed. Decor is nice. It was a fairly slow night so not too many people there. There were 3 diners. Our waiter was prompt in coming to the table. We intended on having cocktails and maybe an appetizer before dinner. While reviewing the cocktail menu he was kind of pushy on taking our order quickly. When asked about some of the house specialty ingredients he was a bit arrogant. But we decided pretty quickly and then asked about apps. They were out of several items we inquired on. So we asked for a minute to review the main menu. He told us a few items they were also out of on the main menu. He also conveyed they were out of bread for the table. The menu isn't all that extensive so how does it happen you're out of so many things?‍ After making decisions on dinner the initial selection I made they were also out of which wasn't indicated initially. The waiter gave some excuse like "still recovering from a busy holiday season". We were there on January 6th. While the others ordered I made a new choice. One diner had a Caesar with the ahi tuna. The Caesar was over dressed and very salty. The waiter had to bring the pepper grinder to the table which he had to take back to the kitchen and bang it around (kitchen is in open view) to get it to operate. The grind resulted in a much too fine product. The tuna was cooked to perfection. She was pleased with her cocktail. Diner#2 had crab cakes with homemade wedge potato's. The crab cakes weren't lump at all and were fairly flavorless and the texture was very mushy. The potato's were raw on the inside. When she told the waiter he spoke to her like she was crazy. He took them back to the kitchen and he came back and confirmed they indeed were not cooked. She had a pear cocktail of some type and did enjoy it. The third diner (me) also had the Caesar and agreed it was overdressed and salty. I had the scallops, one of my fave items to try out in a new place. They were undercooked and lukewarm at best. I also had a specialty cocktail which I would not order again. During the entire food discussion with the waiter he was so arrogant. When it came time to pay he did remove one cocktail from the bill, for the undercooked potato's. One last very important issue is the unisex bathroom. There isn't a woman I know who wants to use one where the urinal is placed directly beside the sink. What could they be thinking??? Totally disgusting as we all know what happens around the urinal. So, it's not on our list to try again. Very disappointed as we had high expectations. read more

Went by myself to try. I sat at the bar. Very friendly bartender. It's amazing how they took a Wendy's and converted it to an upscale restaurant. There's indoor/outdoor seating. It wasnt sunny so they had the wall up with fresh air coming in. I've heard they've had it up even if it it sunny which I can see would make it hot inside, but I was comfortable. I tried the beef tip filet appetizer. YUMMY! Filet medallions were cooked perfect med rare. Came with shoe string potatoes, pita and house made tzatziki. I cleaned my plate. Has a nice drink menu and a fairly large wine list. Only hold back is it's a bit pricey...even for lunch. But I will definitely try dinner when I can afford to splurge a little on myself. read more

Just had first dinner at boardwalk bar and grill tonight as a party of 5 adults. The service and food was as expected for a higher quality of restaurant in the area. However, the management experience was of lesser quality. After settling our high dollar check and generous tip, the manager Josh stop at our table ask us to leave 'once we were ready' because he had another party of tight dressed women requesting our table. We had the most amazing experience at boardwalk this evening. We had the beef tips appetizer and the lamb lollis. For dinner we had their fresh catch which was black grouper and their Roman brick chicken. All the flavors paired perfectly well with each other and the service was immaculate. We called the restaurant at around 11:30 am with the hope of getting a reservation that Saturday night. Of course they were totally booked that evening. Understandable! But the were kind enough to offer a table next to the bar at 5:00 pm. We're old folks so eating a 5 is not an issue. We ordered a bottle of gunluk bunshu Pinot. Fabulous bottle by the way. With some calamari as our shred appetizer. Excellent! Then we shared a Cesar salad with two slices of a crustini as the bread crumbs. Very cool and pretty tasty. Then we had the pasta ( can't remember it's name) but it was a spicy red sauce. Finishing off with two capichino's and a cream brulee for desert. Everything was perfect including the bubbly waitress (sorry can't remember her name either) so everything was top notch except for one minor detail the table was to small for dining and wobbly and basic to high up.
