    Clam strips, boathouse clam chowder

We recently discovered this cute dive bar & restaurant and can't wait to come back. It seemed like there are a lot of locals who know each other and hang out. We felt so welcomed by everyone. The server was awesome and she was so fun to talk to :) We started with the chowder, fried clam strips, and a couple of drinks. We got the Saturday special and the chicken sandwich. All the food was great :) they had a lot of options and it was hard to pick. Guess we will have to come again for more food ;)

We had never been to this restaurant and found it on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were greeted immediately by a very kind server. She helped us make some decisions and was very friendly. We started with the clam strips. They were well done and served with a cocktail sauce. I had the grilled tenderloin sandwich, which was very good with coleslaw both delicious. The decor in the restaurant is very camp and appropriate for both of the city and the area. Love the leg lamp and also some Cubs memorabilia. The clientele is very diverse and it's obvious they are happy to accept everyone in the bar. We will put this on our regular stop list.

Clam chowder was highly recommended, which was not bad. A bit too salty but still good. The pizza is very lacking. Crust is very hard and dry. Cheese is ok, and the sauce is basically plain tomato sauce, at least tasted like it. The food is lacking. The server is nice and friendly. Definitely looks like a local hangout spot.

Solid food, decent service. I haven't had anything that I'd qualify as spectacular, but everything I've had has been very tasty.

The music could have been a tiny bit better, but everything else hit the spot. I ordered the blackened salmon, grits, and okra, and the food was delicious. I'm usually pretty picky about restaurant grits and typically only have a bite or two to taste, but these were surprisingly good--I ate most of them! Pro tip: Definitely check out the happy hour and ask the staff about food recommendations. 100% return factor!

It wasn't too busy and that was ok after a long day of work! Our waitress was amazing and attentive to us and not overbearing. She was very accommodating with my order as I wanted loaded mashed potatoes. She took care of us! For food, I had the "best of both worlds" dinner which included a blackened catfish and a fried catfish. 10/10!!! Both filets were hot, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. For sides I had the broccoli and the loaded mashed potatoes. Both were great.

They had a seasonal menu and regular menu. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. I ordered the date latte, iced and this was one of the best lattes I've had in the city. I ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and added bacon to make a delicious BLT. This was seriously one of the best sandwiches I've had. The flavors were so good, it had fresh veggies, the most delicious bread and sauce. They have a market side where you could run in and order from the pasty display, grab a latte or shop for some local grocery goods. I can't wait to come!!

The market has a fun selection of local goods, and the whole space feels thoughtfully designed. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The breakfast sandwich came from a warmer, and the croissant had become soft and mushy. The egg was a firm, precooked square, and the bacon was limp. The pepper jam was delicious and easily the best part, but it could not make up for the lack of texture in the rest of the sandwich. The chocolate croissant looked beautiful and had plenty of visible layers, but it was surprisingly dense and breadlike rather than light and flaky. Our cold brew and matcha were both good, although the matcha did not have much flavor despite being freshly whisked. Service was also slow and strangely disengaged, which made ordering feel more awkward than it needed to be. There is a lot to like about the atmosphere and idea behind Borage, but the execution during this visit did not live up to the presentation. Definitely going to have to try a sit down brunch next time.

We did not have any wait time for a table. The menu is super overwhelming, there is a lot to read through and understand. I started with the 5 skewer option- beef, chicken, scallops, zucchini and pork belly. I would not recommend the pork belly. Some of my skewers were luke warm. So next time, I will ask that they are all hot. My friend ordered the ying/yang bowl and it had 2 separate sauces,; white creamy and a red miso sauce. They were both delicious. We also had to order the matcha tiramisu. It came in this Japanese decadent box. The presentation here is fantastic. There is a call button for your waiter, which I think is genius, because everyone needs different times to review the menu and decide what they want. We had a lot of questions about the menu. Everything was good, food temperature could be improved. The waiter was very patient with us, no rush. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here and look forward to bringing back alot of people to try this place. It's quite the dining experience! Definitely recommend for all ages.
