    A boat on the ceiling!
    Katherine A.

An old boat hangs from the ceiling. The interior of the bar is filled with fabulous nautical features, I was blown away. I knew immediately that I would love this neighborhood bar. The dining areas are cozy and clean. We were welcomed when we walked in and invited to sit anywhere. We took a seat at the bar. Our server, Katie, was genuinely friendly and attentive. The menu offers a mix of burgers, sandwiches, wraps and salads. A set of dinner entrees is available as well including daily specials. Daily drink specials are listed on a board. I ordered a bowl of their famous clam chowder. The chowder was delivered quickly and was nice and hot with croutons. The chowder is thick and creamy with a hint of spicy heat. I loved it There is plenty of parking in the strip mall. An outdoor patio is available. The bar is located only a block off 465, but there is no on ramp going north. I felt like I was near the coast. I'll be back. I hear the pork chops are phenomenal.

We recently discovered this cute dive bar & restaurant and can't wait to come back. It seemed like there are a lot of locals who know each other and hang out. We felt so welcomed by everyone. The server was awesome and she was so fun to talk to :) We started with the chowder, fried clam strips, and a couple of drinks. We got the Saturday special and the chicken sandwich. All the food was great :) they had a lot of options and it was hard to pick. Guess we will have to come again for more food ;)

We had never been to this restaurant and found it on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were greeted immediately by a very kind server. She helped us make some decisions and was very friendly. We started with the clam strips. They were well done and served with a cocktail sauce. I had the grilled tenderloin sandwich, which was very good with coleslaw both delicious. The decor in the restaurant is very camp and appropriate for both of the city and the area. Love the leg lamp and also some Cubs memorabilia. The clientele is very diverse and it's obvious they are happy to accept everyone in the bar. We will put this on our regular stop list.

Clam chowder was highly recommended, which was not bad. A bit too salty but still good. The pizza is very lacking. Crust is very hard and dry. Cheese is ok, and the sauce is basically plain tomato sauce, at least tasted like it. The food is lacking. The server is nice and friendly. Definitely looks like a local hangout spot.

And Rick's has the best outdoor dining in the Indianapolis area, hands down. No other restaurant patio or deck even comes close. From our table we had a nice view of Eagle Creek. There were a few sailboats out, the sky was blue, and there was a gentle breeze. Our server Cameron was excellent. He answered our questions about menu items and provided suggestions. He was very efficient and kept our glasses full. We ordered several appetizers to share: shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes, and Korean hush puppies. Highly recommend the Korean hush puppies and the crab cakes! I ordered salmon roulades for my entrée, and I would definitely order it again. Everyone else enjoyed their entrées as well: a grouper Reuben, vegetable stir fry, and chicken Parmesan. A perfect experience.

My boyfriend and I came on Mother's day (unintentionally) and we waited about 10-15 minutes to sit at the bar. Getting our orders taken & our food served definitely took a bit of time, but we enjoyed seeing all the cooks in action and getting to smell all the amazing smells!! I got Grandpa's one pan skillet and my boyfriend got the sausage breakfast sandwich on croissant bread. All I gotta say is those chefs definitely knew what they were doing! The flavors were unique and intentional and I enjoyed every bite. The home fries (potatoes) were also so yummy and everything was cooked really well. There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The staff here are also very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our little brunch and will be back with family next time!

The market has a fun selection of local goods, and the whole space feels thoughtfully designed. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The breakfast sandwich came from a warmer, and the croissant had become soft and mushy. The egg was a firm, precooked square, and the bacon was limp. The pepper jam was delicious and easily the best part, but it could not make up for the lack of texture in the rest of the sandwich. The chocolate croissant looked beautiful and had plenty of visible layers, but it was surprisingly dense and breadlike rather than light and flaky. Our cold brew and matcha were both good, although the matcha did not have much flavor despite being freshly whisked. Service was also slow and strangely disengaged, which made ordering feel more awkward than it needed to be. There is a lot to like about the atmosphere and idea behind Borage, but the execution during this visit did not live up to the presentation. Definitely going to have to try a sit down brunch next time.

So next time, I will ask that they are all hot. My friend ordered the ying/yang bowl and it had 2 separate sauces,; white creamy and a red miso sauce. They were both delicious. We also had to order the matcha tiramisu. It came in this Japanese decadent box. The presentation here is fantastic. There is a call button for your waiter, which I think is genius, because everyone needs different times to review the menu and decide what they want. We had a lot of questions about the menu.
