My family and I wanted to grab a quick lunch and found Bob & Edith's Diner. If you pay with a credit card, they charge a 3% fee; they have the notice posted on their doors. They are also open 24 hours! The service was quick, which I appreciated, and the food was typical diner fare. I wasn't wowed, but nothing tasted bad either. The ambiance was perfect, as there were many patrons--some family, some friends, and some just by themselves. I would go back if I need to grab a quick bite and don't want to go to fast food places like McDonald's.

The interior of the restaurant reminds you of an old timey diner which I enjoy myself. The waitress I had was super attentive and knew the menu before I could even finish my sentences. The food was made in adequate time for how many people were there. Temperature of the food was good, portion size was satisfying. For the amount of diner-style places I have been to, this place is on the lighter side of hitting the flavors but that could be good for some people. Overall I enjoyed the food and soaking in the time period experience this place is trying to convey.

I recently stopped by for a meal and had a generally positive experience. The food was a highlight, with a veggie omelette and grits paired with a toasted English muffin - a nice touch. Service was excellent, with speedy seating and an attentive server who checked in more than frequently. Most staff members were smiling, welcoming and helpful, although a few seemed less enthusiastic, offering brief, cold stares. I dined alone and was in and out within (30) minutes. The bar stool seating area where I sat seemed like an appropriate spot for solo diners like myself, and I appreciated the quick turnaround time. I had a direct view of the grill. With so many staff on hand, I can see that this was a well oiled machine type of operation.

We woke up craving pancakes for breakfast but were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection at Bob & Edith's Diner. We decided to order delivery instead and tried the steak n' cheese sub and country fried steak. Honestly, we weren't expecting too much, but the generous portions and freshness of the food really impressed us. Love their onion rings! Everything was delicious, and we truly enjoyed our breakfast. Happy tummy indeed!

We ordered to go and brought the food home! The Philly Cheesesteak and Country Fried Steak with Gravy were delicious! Unfortunately, instead of getting the Hot Turkey sandwich they gave us ham (or that's Turkey that tasted like ham.) When we went to order in the diner, it's a fifty's style place and very busy! I would highly recommend the cheesesteaks and country fried steak!

Our family loves local restaurants when traveling instead of big chains. Stopped in to Bob and Edith's for dinner and was not disappointed. The classic diner decor is great. The fast and friendly service was fantastic. Best of all the food was perfect. Our group picked a classic grilled cheese, ham and cheese sub, and chicken fried steak - all were cooked perfectly. We'll definitely be back when in the area.

This location is one of many Bob & Edith's in Alexandria, Arlington and Springfield. I stopped here after work a few days ago with an craving for breakfast food despite the time of the day. The restaurant was fully staffed though there were only a few tables occupied. Comfortable quiet ambiance...and pleasantly not over-air-conditioned. I was greeted by a smiling friendly young woman who indicated I could sit anywhere. Upon being seated, I was promptly provided with a menu and water. I ordered the most basic of basic breakfasts: eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. My food arrived in good time. All the items were decently prepared. Bonus points for the toast being buttered before it came out to my table. My server checked on me at least a couple times, and without prompting, gave me a water refill. I pulled the reins in on my appetite and opted against a shake, though I do know the shakes are very good at Bob & Ediths. Yes indeed, this is my go-to spot for a diner breakfast in Springfield.

This diner is located in a strip mall with a large parking lot, so parking is not an issue here. It dates back to 1969 an even though they are a self proclaimed Dallas Cowboy supporter, that will not affect my rating and review. The diner has a large dining area and serves a wide array of food including burgers, sandwiches, omelettes, soups, salads, waffles, pancakes and french toast. The staff there was friendly enough, but I will admit that my interaction with them was limited. This diner has a an old-school feel and is opened 24 hours which is a plus for those that have the late night munchies. I ordered a grilled cheese with a side of home fries. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. I was very unimpressed. The home fries lacked any flavor or taste. I could not even finish them. The grilled cheese was nothing special. I have made much better myself. As I alluded to, I was very disappointed. I would probably skip this restaurant and find another eatery.

Typical diner. I went in on a Fri night with my 2 teenage boys for milkshakes. Nothing mind blowing but good shakes. One odd thing, I was overcharged for my bill. I left no tip on the card b/c I left a 20% tip in cash. They still charged my card with a tip added on. I contacted my credit card company and the cleared it up but not sure what happened and I'm going to believe that an honest mistake was made.

This is every greasy breakfast diner's dream come true. Food is American style breakfast and lunch, 24/7 365 days a year. The staff is quick to get food out and are incredibly polite. The ambiance/vibe is eclectic diner vibes. It's bright, cold, clean enough, and you know what to expect when you come in. Lots of chatter and happy people with full tummies. This is our go to breakfast spot and the prices are perfect!

Food was good and hot. The dining room had a few occupied tables. Service was quick and efficient. We'll return.

Whenever I have trouble sleeping, and I have a craving for some breakfast diner food, this is the place I go to satisfy my hunger. My go to item is the corned beef hash with eggs over easy, some hash browns and white toast. Paired with a glass of OJ and my hunger is sated. Open 24/7 with plenty of parking, this place is located near the Giant grocery store. I believe the original Bob and Edith's is in Arlington, which is quite a ways for me, so the Springfield location is my diner of choice.

Since the reservation form asked if we were celebrating anything, I hoped we would be placed in a special area or at least somewhere more intimate. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We were led up a staircase, which offered a cool view of the environment, but ended up at a small table in a small high traffic area. Initially, we thought it was a unique experience because of the restaurant's interior design, but we soon realized it was going to be uncomfortable...because heat rises and we were stuck upstairs with so many other people who seemed just as warm as us. It was excessively hot, and I found myself fanning myself with one of the menus at the table. While our server was probably trying his best, the service left much to be desired. We were eager to leave as soon as we arrived. After ordering and enjoying what we could of our meals, which were quite good, we just wanted to leave. However, our server was absent for a long time, leaving us stuck at the table. Instead of being a cute little anniversary dinner, it just turned out to be a disappointing experience at a new restaurant

Dear reader,…read more Firebirds was a thoroughly lovely experience and exactly the sort of place one hopes for when the evening calls for a proper cocktail and a comfortable perch at the bar. We sat there for the evening and had such a fun time, due in no small part to the bartender, who was super nice, genuinely funny, and clearly knew their way around a cocktail. A charming and commendable combination. The atmosphere strikes a very pleasing balance. It feels warm and inviting with a slightly upscale air, but never in a way that feels stuffy or overly serious. Everything felt polished, the service was great, and the whole place had that easy, settled-in quality that makes you want to stay for another round rather than rush off to the next engagement. I also especially liked the Seared Ahi Tuna, which was absolutely worth ordering and deserves its moment of recognition. Overall, Firebirds delivered a very enjoyable evening with good drinks, great service, and an atmosphere that made lingering feel like the correct decision. Food came after some time, we requested for everything to come out on time. Steak and egg was okay but I'd go with the prime rib next time. The steak came out sliced with 2 poached eggs on top. The hash on the side was on point. Salmon okay too. Salad was okay but we should have added a protein on top. A little dry on dressing maybe but we could have requested more so that's on us. On the other hand, the French toast had me scratching my head. It was cubed challah bread but eggs was 0, zero, nada eggs on it. I thought I was eating croutons which would have gone great with the super salad dish thinking about it now. The French toast really bunched up my undies, French toast is my favorite breakfast thing you see. They explained it was prepped that way for allergy sake due to the egg. Well, I'm not allergic and never said I was, but my friend was but she wasn't eating my dish so why make it in this fashion. Overall, this experience was just okay. Nice environment and service but I realized how lucky I am not to be allergic cause if I have to eat French toast like this forever, I'm not sure what to do. Definitely not up to eating croutons with syrup.
