My family and I wanted to grab a quick lunch and found Bob & Edith's Diner. If you pay with a credit card, they charge a 3% fee; they have the notice posted on their doors. They are also open 24 hours! The service was quick, which I appreciated, and the food was typical diner fare. I wasn't wowed, but nothing tasted bad either. The ambiance was perfect, as there were many patrons--some family, some friends, and some just by themselves. I would go back if I need to grab a quick bite and don't want to go to fast food places like McDonald's.

The interior of the restaurant reminds you of an old timey diner which I enjoy myself. The waitress I had was super attentive and knew the menu before I could even finish my sentences. The food was made in adequate time for how many people were there. Temperature of the food was good, portion size was satisfying. For the amount of diner-style places I have been to, this place is on the lighter side of hitting the flavors but that could be good for some people. Overall I enjoyed the food and soaking in the time period experience this place is trying to convey.

I recently stopped by for a meal and had a generally positive experience. The food was a highlight, with a veggie omelette and grits paired with a toasted English muffin - a nice touch. Service was excellent, with speedy seating and an attentive server who checked in more than frequently. Most staff members were smiling, welcoming and helpful, although a few seemed less enthusiastic, offering brief, cold stares. I dined alone and was in and out within (30) minutes. The bar stool seating area where I sat seemed like an appropriate spot for solo diners like myself, and I appreciated the quick turnaround time. I had a direct view of the grill. With so many staff on hand, I can see that this was a well oiled machine type of operation.

We woke up craving pancakes for breakfast but were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection at Bob & Edith's Diner. We decided to order delivery instead and tried the steak n' cheese sub and country fried steak. Honestly, we weren't expecting too much, but the generous portions and freshness of the food really impressed us. Love their onion rings! Everything was delicious, and we truly enjoyed our breakfast. Happy tummy indeed!

We ordered to go and brought the food home! The Philly Cheesesteak and Country Fried Steak with Gravy were delicious! Unfortunately, instead of getting the Hot Turkey sandwich they gave us ham (or that's Turkey that tasted like ham.) When we went to order in the diner, it's a fifty's style place and very busy! I would highly recommend the cheesesteaks and country fried steak!

Our family loves local restaurants when traveling instead of big chains. Stopped in to Bob and Edith's for dinner and was not disappointed. The classic diner decor is great. The fast and friendly service was fantastic. Best of all the food was perfect. Our group picked a classic grilled cheese, ham and cheese sub, and chicken fried steak - all were cooked perfectly. We'll definitely be back when in the area.

This location is one of many Bob & Edith's in Alexandria, Arlington and Springfield. I stopped here after work a few days ago with an craving for breakfast food despite the time of the day. The restaurant was fully staffed though there were only a few tables occupied. Comfortable quiet ambiance...and pleasantly not over-air-conditioned. I was greeted by a smiling friendly young woman who indicated I could sit anywhere. Upon being seated, I was promptly provided with a menu and water. I ordered the most basic of basic breakfasts: eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. My food arrived in good time. All the items were decently prepared. Bonus points for the toast being buttered before it came out to my table. My server checked on me at least a couple times, and without prompting, gave me a water refill. I pulled the reins in on my appetite and opted against a shake, though I do know the shakes are very good at Bob & Ediths. Yes indeed, this is my go-to spot for a diner breakfast in Springfield.

This diner is located in a strip mall with a large parking lot, so parking is not an issue here. It dates back to 1969 an even though they are a self proclaimed Dallas Cowboy supporter, that will not affect my rating and review. The diner has a large dining area and serves a wide array of food including burgers, sandwiches, omelettes, soups, salads, waffles, pancakes and french toast. The staff there was friendly enough, but I will admit that my interaction with them was limited. This diner has a an old-school feel and is opened 24 hours which is a plus for those that have the late night munchies. I ordered a grilled cheese with a side of home fries. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. I was very unimpressed. The home fries lacked any flavor or taste. I could not even finish them. The grilled cheese was nothing special. I have made much better myself. As I alluded to, I was very disappointed. I would probably skip this restaurant and find another eatery.

Typical diner. I went in on a Fri night with my 2 teenage boys for milkshakes. Nothing mind blowing but good shakes. One odd thing, I was overcharged for my bill. I left no tip on the card b/c I left a 20% tip in cash. They still charged my card with a tip added on. I contacted my credit card company and the cleared it up but not sure what happened and I'm going to believe that an honest mistake was made.

This is every greasy breakfast diner's dream come true. Food is American style breakfast and lunch, 24/7 365 days a year. The staff is quick to get food out and are incredibly polite. The ambiance/vibe is eclectic diner vibes. It's bright, cold, clean enough, and you know what to expect when you come in. Lots of chatter and happy people with full tummies. This is our go to breakfast spot and the prices are perfect!

Food was good and hot. The dining room had a few occupied tables. Service was quick and efficient. We'll return.

Whenever I have trouble sleeping, and I have a craving for some breakfast diner food, this is the place I go to satisfy my hunger. My go to item is the corned beef hash with eggs over easy, some hash browns and white toast. Paired with a glass of OJ and my hunger is sated. Open 24/7 with plenty of parking, this place is located near the Giant grocery store. I believe the original Bob and Edith's is in Arlington, which is quite a ways for me, so the Springfield location is my diner of choice.

I stood at the pickup area for several minutes while three employees were behind the counter. One of them looked directly at me while drinking water but didn't even greet or acknowledge me, and the other two never seemed to notice that someone was waiting. It felt like no one paid attention to customers at the pickup station unless they walked over to the ordering counter. I wasn't helped until another employee came out of the kitchen to assist a different customer. She then went behind the counter, chatted briefly with her coworkers, noticed me waiting, and finally asked if I was picking up an order. The food has also changed. I used to buy the strawberry crepe for my daughter almost every weekend because we loved it. This time, it was soggy and overwhelmingly sweet, with far too much topping and syrup. It no longer has the same quality it used to. The omelet was still decent and about the same as before, but the cappuccino was bland and forgettable. Nothing about it stood out. Based on this visit, I won't be coming back. It's disappointing to see both the service and the quality decline from what used to be one of our favorite places.

Since the reservation form asked if we were celebrating anything, I hoped we would be placed in a special area or at least somewhere more intimate. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We were led up a staircase, which offered a cool view of the environment, but ended up at a small table in a small high traffic area. Initially, we thought it was a unique experience because of the restaurant's interior design, but we soon realized it was going to be uncomfortable...because heat rises and we were stuck upstairs with so many other people who seemed just as warm as us. It was excessively hot, and I found myself fanning myself with one of the menus at the table. While our server was probably trying his best, the service left much to be desired. We were eager to leave as soon as we arrived. After ordering and enjoying what we could of our meals, which were quite good, we just wanted to leave. However, our server was absent for a long time, leaving us stuck at the table. Instead of being a cute little anniversary dinner, it just turned out to be a disappointing experience at a new restaurant

There was a second birthday party in full swing, yet the family who owns the restaurant greeted us with such warmth and kindness and invited us to sit wherever we felt comfortable. Eggs & Sushi is one of those hideouts and if you're not careful, might end up eating 7k calories before you leave. You'll only know this place exists if you live or work in the Lorton area where Eggs & Sushi stands firm. If not for Google Maps, you may drive on by without a thought. I stopped because their simple sign but just some quirky in a strange way caught my eye and it's in the middle of a warehouse street where you would not expect food places to be. Surprisingly, there are always little cafes in these kind of places that feed the immediate workers there. They are sometimes the hidden gems nobody will hear about unless you work in that area. This is one of them. Walking in, it feels like a small diner, yellow walls, lots of menu above the grill area displayed on multiple screens, properly lit dining area. They take orders at the end and at a kiosk as well. Window seats, couple of tables, and some bar seats also. Seems simple enough but this place is the ultimate trap for the hungry. Be careful! When you look up, you realize they have a vast menu and varied in the most fantastic way. You have your generic American style food, eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, sandwiches, coffee, smoothie, an all day breakfast menu. Then you keep walking around to look at the menu, you see sushi, rolls, poke bowls, ramen, some dons, etc. You might think, hmm, they might be overloaded on the menu. Wrong! They make fantastic sandwiches! Smaller not overpriced ramen but with lots of oomph flavor! These guys bring the umami and drip it like masters. The dons hit, the ramen hits, the sandwiches hit, and my all time favorite breakfast item, the elegantly simple French toast hits. They are serving hits here and only a few know about it. Service was adequate from their high school kid waiters. The owners at the grill are very friendly if you get a chance to interact with them. Just a very chill ambience.
