Decent diner, proportions are big so you won't leave hungry. However I was not a fan of the diluted ketchup on the table. I only ordered a Ham & Cheese sandwich, but the ham was really gritty and it was just very greasy and the bread was too brown for my taste. At least the fries were good, but like I said the ketchup is diluted so it's a little disappointing. Maybe i should have ordered something else but I doubt I would give it a 2nd chance with so many other restaurants to try in the area. I found this diner to be very average, overall. read more

A little pricy, $15 + tip breakfast for one. Food was ok, sausage was kind of dry. It is very noisy, DecibelMeter on iPhone avg'd 78. Hard to enjoy your food over the clanking dishes, kitchen spatula and crowd talk. I'd come back for another try though. read more

Sunday for breakfast. The wait for a table was not too bad and they were quick to turn over tables. Ordered eggs, hash browns and chicken fried steak with sausage gravy. The gravy was very gamey tasting and just not right. Both plates the food was cold and undercooked. I will say that the pancakes where fluffy and tasty. Absolutely love this place. Where else can you find a 24 hour diner that's fast, friendly, and delicious? While I was studying for finals I went so frequently late at night that the servers actually knew my boyfriend and I. At one point I actually asked if I wanted the regular. It was a cool feeling, but that meant I had gone there often. No problem because the prices are so affordable especially for the quality of food that they put out. When you're tired but hunger after studying for hours on end Bob and Edith's really hits the spot. And you never get tired of the food because there is such a nice selection to choose from. They also have specials every day which is always fun. The double bacon cheeseburger with eggs are to die for! So juicy and tender. It's a real patty, not some fake rubber thing. I also adore the grilled cheese.... It's so good. They have a digital juke box which is a nice touch. Very family friendly, and a great place to also hang out with friends. The food is not great, it either is under cooked or too cooked, and when is full you basically stand by door watching people already eating to see who is getting ready to get up so that you can seat your self. That wouldn't be such a big deal but there is no one guiding people as they come in and wait too, so your on your own if the people that came after you get the table you been waiting for. It does seem to be cheap but not by much so your better off going some where that at least you will seat you and not this place where there is no one. read more

Yes, as a matter of fact, we were there just yesterday for Sunday brunch. Impressed with the service, prices quite reasonable, hence it was very, very busy. Happy to have found this diner accidentally while looking for another diner. Stopped on the way south needing to get off the road for a bit. We enjoyed great ice tea and shared a waffle sundae. Yum! Large warm fluffy waffle with two scoops of high quality vanilla ice cream, pecans, chocolate strop and whipped cream. Delectable treat. This is decent diner food and tasted relatively good. Some of the our breakfast tasted a little heated up from frozen like the hash browns. It's ok, but not somewhere I'd go all the time. It was very family friendly as well for my 2 year old. read more

I have been coming to the Arlington location since 2009. I love it sadly the Springfield location is not to what I believe is the bob and Edith's standard. I have given the place a chance. I've gone 5 times. Sadly, service is horrible. Food is always good. My recently visit made me want to write this sad review. Things they need to work on. Once seated it took15 minutes for someone to notice we needed menus. Drinks took more then 15 minutes to get. When I was give. I was given the wrong drink. I was given attitude by a server about my drink and food order. I asked for silverware and was given rolled eyes. I will not be returning. This is a sad day. read more

Let's just start with what the OWNERS said to me(in a demeaning and rude tone), when I asked to speak to a manager about my horrific experience; "well, you know, we have 2 people call out today." The owner than proceeded to give me a bit of a scowl and walked away. This was the first and last time I will visit Bob & Edith's Diner. It took 15 minutes for the table to be cleared, about 10 minutes for a waiter to come over, who was rude and seemed confused by the menu items my party of 5 ordered, and then 15 minutes to get water and coffees for the table. The food took about 35 minutes to come out and when it did my scrambled eggs were cold, not even luke-warm, straight up cold. The toast clearly hadn't been toasted, and our orders came out over three deliveries from our sub-par waiter and it was evident he was just pulling food out of the kitchen and delivering it to our table hoping it was correct....After asking for ketchup 2-3 times, we just got up and got it ourselves. The people behind us got their own to-go boxes... The experience was horrendous. The staff overall was rude, you could tell that there was no management there even though the owners were there. People could tell by the looks on our faces our disgust and poor experience, and turned away and walked out the door. They made a good choice. Don't bother going here, and if the managers or owners are there, don't expect them to take any pride or care about the way their "business" is running. read more

Order the ham steak and a salad. The single thin slice of ham came with a cup of veggies which while I was finishing they actually asked if they could take it away. Then the salad came and had nice in the middle. Very underwhelming. Kids meals were three times bigger than mine which was good. I don't understand what the motif was, trying to be a 50s diner but with music that was atl Rock and hardcore rock didn't match. Place at 530 was nearly empty. Skip this place unless you want confusion and irregular portions. Major let down. read more

Absolutely the worst. I was there at 0700 on Saturday. The music was so loud I had to shout to give my order. My western omelette had cheese whiz for cheese, raw vegetables, and was cold. I asked for fruit and was given French fries instead, but the fruit was on my bill. I had to ask twice for a correct bill. We went for brunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was packed and pretty noisey - can't really have any conversation. Both of us had the omelets with home fries - which were nothing special but pretty good for diner food! I thought the prices were a little on the high side - with coffee our total was over 25.00 for the 2 of us. First cup of coffee wasn't very good - 2nd cup was better - I think it was folgers (label on the coffee carafe said that). While we weren't really disappointed I doubt we'll have a reason to go back. read more

I've been twice to this Bob & Edith's - once for dinner, and once for breakfast. Both experiences were impressive - very tasty food, and fast, friendly service. For me personally, though, it is too noisy - not real conducive to intimate conversations. This is a personal irritant, so I won't hold Bob & Edith's responsible for it. read more

So their Springfield location sucks big time. Their other location (I believe in Arlington) is somewhat better. I believe that when they were opening this location they believed that they will be serving to that same crows as they serve in Arlington. Customers in Arlington seems to know them for years. There is young and old and they both seem to enjoy themselves but that is not an excuse for treating new customers poorly. read more

Although the service is very good and that I really really wanted to like this place, I doubt I will be going back. I don't think their breakfast is worth $30 for two people when I can go to Spartans and pay the same amount for three people with better portions. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye steak and eggs dish and the ribeye served was certainly no ribeye I am familiar with. In fact it was barely edible. It was an extremely thin cut of meat and mostly gristle/fat and overly chewy. We informed our server very politely that the meat was not good and we received no response, which was a bit strange. I had one of their specials from the board which included eggs. The scrambled eggs were overcooked but the bacon was very crispy. The highlight was the french toast, but it wasn't anything overly special about it. Sorry Bob & Ediths, I was really hoping to find a regular breakfast spot. My search continues..... read more

This location gets one star, barely. I have been going to the Arlington location for years and was thrilled they opened one in Springfield as it's closer to where I live. Now, the Arlington location gets 5 stars, they are awesome and on point as far as food and service. I cannot say the same about the new location. Service today, is horrendous. It's too bad because all of them at the Arlington location are so amazing. I have never seen this man before and he is so rude. Took 10 minutes before anyone even came to the table, it has now been 10+ more minutes waiting for just drinks. Then when we tried to order meals, the same meals we order EVERY time we come, and he argued with us that we couldn't order a separate pancake/French toast...even though it is clearly listed in the sides. Fine, he won that argument and made the restaurant lose out on more money. Sad to say, I won't come back to this location, which is sad because I really want it to do well because of the Arlington one and all the great people that work there. Will be making the trip there from now on. Hopefully it's growing pains and this location gets it together and gets rid of some of these new rude/horrible servers. read more
