The service department is a joke! Had two experiences lately one was a recall that we were told would take only a few minutes to fix, made appointment and took in was told the wait for repair was an hour. Not sure how it changed so drastically from making the appointment but had to cancel because had made plans that didn't allow me to wait that long. Worst offense is the latest one. Our car was taken to this location for dealer specific parts and installation and to reset codes. They sat on our car for THREE WEEKS kept giving our Collusion specialist the run around as well as us. Mark in the service department told us he didn't have anyone able to take the time to get it done. He didn't think it to be a priority repair. So while still paying a car payment, insurance and paying for a rental with horrible gas mileage this whole thing has cost us money, time and energy that should not have been spent chasing these people to get our car repaired in a timely manner. The car was taken to Escondido mazda where it took only half a day to repair it. Mark told us it would take at least 6 more hours to diagnose what the problem was before repairs even took place. THREE WEEKS they had it to find and fix the problem and with in one working day the other mazda service department FIXED IT!! The service at Baker Mazda was ridiculous and cost us a small fortune because of their either laziness or ineptness or lack of proper management. We were shopping for two new mazdas to add to our family and this location from this day will not be getting our money. EPIC FAIL! I highly recommend Hine Mazda in Temecula. They kept calling and pressuring me to come in to sign papers. They knew the money was in place, they had spoken to my credit union. The car had been on the lot for months. They took all of the fun out of purchasing a "Pre-certified " 2021 mini cooper S countryman with 31,000 miles, away from me! I mention "pre-certified". because I have put less than 200 miles on the car and I had a hard time starting it the other day, as well as an oil light and tire light. I wrote to carfax to see if I could get more details on the report I had originally obtained. Turns out the oil was last changed August of Last year. I rarely have anything nice to say about a car dealer. Recently, I had one expensive (non-Mazda) car that I wanted to trade for two cheaper cars and a few Mazda dealers had the two cheaper cars that I was looking for. No dealer *except* Bob Baker Mazda was interested in doing the research necessary to get me a suitable price for my old car. That's largely why they sold two cars in one day and every other Mazda dealer in the area gets nothing. Furthermore, Evelyn (my very first contact there) rocked the house regarding product presentation, knowledge, and getting the sale done, not to mention delivering on a promised item *after* the sale that any other dealer would've forgotten the moment the paperwork dried. Give her the business because she earns it!!! Her immediate boss was the one doing the research in the trade-in and, while it took a day, he called when promised and got the best trade-in price out of anyone in the San Diego area! Why the missing star? BBM's communication regarding other due-bill items, parts, and maintenance scheduling needs some work (which is, unfortunately, pretty average for a car dealer.) Horrible people on the service side. Bunch of layers and crooks. Made an appointment for my first car service. For a simple oil change they charge $90.00, when I heard the price I changed my mind and I asked them forget about oil change. And I asked please just take care of the recalls. Guess what? Because they couldn't convince me to pay for oil change in their dealership, they said " to take care of the recalls you have to leave your car and come back tomorrow afternoon." I told them but you have 4 hours to take care of those, but the service manager came and said we have 50 customers before you to take care of and we don't have time to take care of yours right away. Then why do you give people appointments if you are fully booked with others????????????????? Then I left that place and called Mazda company customer service. Mazda customer service pulled my car VIN and they could see the recalls. The representative told me to take care of those recalls doesn't take more than 2 hours. For my curiosity I called another Mazda dealership. Very professionally they first asked my VIN. When I asked the rep said doesn't take more than 2 hours. I was bringing 2 of my relatives to joint Mazda with this dealership, but with this rude, lyres and money hungers not at all. My key fob had died and I needed a new battery. I called their parts dept first to make sure they had the battery in stock. The parts guy answered and was polite. I headed over and was met by a nice gentlemen from sales asking how he could help. I asked for the parts dept and he kindly directed me to the stairs and gave me directions to it. I noticed that the lot was half empty of new cars and the sales area was very quiet and practically empty. There was one customer, but that was it. It was around lunch time so that could be it too. As I headed to the parts dept I did pass by service, and they were busy. I now understood it when they say service keeps the lights on of a dealership. Anyway, the parts dept was empty. I walked up to the closed window and rang the doorbell a few times. A nice guy from service came over and told me the guy was probably on the phone. When the parts guy came he said he was on the phone and didn't talk much. He remembered our phone convo and quickly went to work. He told me to go to service to pay and the invoice was with them. Arrived at 11:25 am and found several employees standing around outside and the door to service locked. They said that they were closed for a company event. I was on their website, went through the online chat, and when I got to the showroom in 30 minutes, Ren had all my paperwork and knew exactly what I wanted. We gave him our budget and I loved the fact that he respected our budget. He didn't try to over sell us, but actually listened to what we wanted and needed in a vehicle. My husband and I were able to test drive the Mazda 3 and were able to get through financing in a breeze. I'm glad we were able to purchase a vehicle that is gas efficient and will be a great drive for our soon to be teenage driver. A little over a year ago I purchased a preowned vehicle from bob baker Mazda since purchasing the vehicle I've had to change 4 tires and was just informed the brakes on the car are at 20%.... in the brief amount of time I've owned it my driving hasn't consisted of stop and go traffic nor any hills the mechanic I went to said there is no way my brakes should be in this condition. When I shared this with the dealer they basically told me they couldn't help me one reason being the amount of time that has passed also because they weren't a certified Nissan dealership. So I decided to do my research and it seems as if there are different standard for certified and non certified used vehicles. Being my car is a Nissan I fall under the uncertified category and they are able to sell cars with poor tire and brake conditions... both of these items on a vehicle are extremely important for safety. There seems to be no real laws to protect the consumer from this deception Brakes are internal which makes it difficult to visually see the amount of life left on a brake pad as a consumer we aren't able to see this unless the tires are off... the mechanic I went to took the time to show visually show me my brake pads... thankfully I was made aware of this safety concern. The unfortunate reality is I put blind faith in bob baker Mazda and trusted they were selling me a safe car for both my daughter and self a safe car. Instead they deceitfully cut corners to save a buck and have put us both in danger! Out of pocket I've paid almost 2,000 for tires and brakes! That is absolutely insane especially when I was guaranteed the brakes were in good working order... the tires were polished before they gave me the keys so appearance wise they didn't seem bad when I questioned the sales guy about the poor condition tires that was listed in the contract he said they would put new ones on so I honestly thought they had done so since they were all polished. I didn't leave the dealership until after sundown so it seemed like the extra time they took was to actually replace the tires... clearly they deceived me and I'm livid!!! There response is so generic...well you have 90 days after a sale to bring these things to our attention...unfortunately we can't help you... great customer service bob baker not only did you lie you took advantage of a customer and put us in potential danger all to save a few bucks!!! Managed to locate a couple of receipts clearly not all... if there was an option for negative stars they wouldn't have received the one I was forced to leave. read more

My first interaction with Bob Baker Mazda was very upsetting to me and I wrote a review stating my experience. I was very pleased when I got a call from the sales manager the next day! He apologized and asked us to come back so they could make things right. The drive there for me was about 1 hour and a half. Once there the greeting was pleasant and professional. Not only the manager but also the supervisor made it clear that they wanted to give us excellent customer service. They went over the details and tried to fix the issues that the car had. They assigned another sales person to help us who was also very kind and attentive. Horrible experience! I sent the first email to this dealership on Sunday about a used vehicle that was listed for $15,900.00 - today is Thursday. Started communicating with Fred Bandi by email on Monday. Talked to him yesterday on the phone, and we exchanged text yesterday, and I made him aware we were going to go to the dealership today to buy the vehicle. I confirmed late last night at 9 PM by text, that we may not pick it up to until Monday, but we are going to make the "hour and a half" drive to buy it today. I told him I would confirm by text when we were on our way which I did. I was driving when he sent a text saying don't come yet, followed by one that said somebody else is buying the vehicle. I got this once we were already in Carlsbad Ca. an 85 mile drive from Redondo Beach California. He said he had gotten to work at 11 AM and he saw that somebody was buying the vehicle; he told me he started work at 9 AM so there's one inconsistency right there. He knew I was driving today from far to get this vehicle, you think he would communicate with the staff to make sure he put it aside to give me a chance to get there by mid-afternoon is what I estimated, but I was there by12:30 PM. And somebody was already buying it WTF! I was sitting in Carlsbad having lunch with my 20 year old daughter, it was to be her first car, then we were going to drive over to do all the paperwork. Bad experience all around. We also drove quite a ways after emailing back and forth with STUART WEINGARDEN. The price was significantly lower than any other Mazda dealers in the area. When we arrived the car had "just been sold." We had driven a long way, and had been looking for a car for months, so we ended up buying a higher priced model and had a trade in. Stuart said the price that Bob Baker dealership was offering was too low, and he needed a car for his girlfriend, and that he would buy it privately from us that week. We just wanted to get rid of the car, so we asked him if he was sure? He offered us 50 bucks more, which was effectively nothing, but we thought he needed it, why not? Of course Stuart didn't get back to us, we were left with the old car. He didn't even respond to our phone calls. Such a pain, and completely dishonest. Thanks for perpetuating the stereotype Stuart. We ended up going to car max, and got over three times the amount the dealership & stuart were offering. Never going to BB Mazda again. Highly recommend you avoid this place. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. When I bought my Mazda 6 from this dealership I had a overall great experience. Even though I spent the whole day here I got a great deal and great customer service from beginning to end. My fiancé and I came back a week later to get my car serviced. We waited in the waiting area, which is part of the showroom. There were some employees in showroom but we were the only customers. One of the car salesman acknowledged us and I just told him we waiting on my car. I even spotted the car salesman that sold me my car. I was so excited to thank him and let him know how much I loved my new car, but he just ignored me when I greeted him. I thought that was weird because I spent a whole day with him just a week ago and even talked to him on the phone after. I just brushed it off and assumed he didn't remember me. After that we were pretty much ignored, they were just talking, laughing and showing each other viral videos, which was fine. But then started cussing right in front of us, like we weren't even there. I understand how it gets and salesmen have to work hard for their sales, but wow I deserve the same respect and manner as a potential customer. So we brought our brand new 2016 Mazda CX-5 in to check the tires when we noticed the tpms light came on. We checked all four tires to see if there were anything wrong with the tires. Nothing was wrong so we brought it in to have it checked out. When the service guy brought the car back, he told us that everything is fine. When we checked the tire, we saw a huge fresh nail sticking out of the tire. The service advisor initial (MJ) said that's why the light is triggered. So, we were here for a good half an hour arguing back and forth until we spoke with the manager (Dave P.) really nice guy and he took a look and said that's fresh nail from their construction site. So, they replaced the tire. With a fresh new pair. MJ had to speak with the sales man and of course they are going to try and sell you a new pair of tire. But luckily for Dave we were able to get a new tire installed. Lesson here is take pictures before bringing your car in for service. Especially your tires.
