Unreliable. A friend recommended Bob and I set up an appointment for an easy tub/faucet installation. On the day of the appointment, I texted my address as he asked and he responded as if he had never heard of me. This was followed by a request to reschedule not once, but 3 times. Each time, I had to call him, he never proactively reached out to me. The fourth time, he ghosted me for two days then texted me saying broke his ankle mountain bike riding. Instead of referring me to someone else, he said I should try calling Ace Hardware. Not great. read more

I would like to add my recommendation for Bob Cowden Plumbing. I had a plumbing emergency on Sunday evening. I ended up turning to Yelp and a different 5 star recommended plumber responded and attempted to snake my drain then told me I needed to have a grease clogged kitchen drain pipe replaced at $1200. I called Bob based on recommendations from Nextdoor and left a message. He promptly returned my call and informed me that I most likely did not need the pipe replaced and explained this type of problem should have been easily resolved with a snake by any competent plumber. He also told me even if the pipe was damaged or corroded shut and required replacement he could probably replace it for around $300 plus parts. In any case, he came over first thing Monday morning and snaked the drain and cleared the obstruction. There was no back up or slow drain at all. I filled the sink to the top and it drained in about 30 seconds! He also installed a new kitchen faucet and replaced a corroded pipe fitting. This was all done at a very reasonable agreed upon price! read more

I've had Bob Cowden fix several things at my house, including unclogging pipes, installing a garbage disposal, installing new shower fixtures, etc. His communication with clients is excellent, he returns calls quickly and shows up on time. The one time he was running a little late, he called to let me know and told me what time he would be here. I could not be happier with his plumbing skills and have never had any problems whatsoever with his work. He is very down-to-earth and friendly and easy to get along with. He's even great with my pets. He is eager to do whatever it takes to make the client happy. A couple of times he's finished the work, then asked if there was anything else he could do at no extra charge since there was still some time left. Seriously, how often do you hear providers so concerned about making sure their clients get their money's worth? If you are looking for a plumber who is responsible, friendly, and really knows his stuff, look no further than Bob Cowden. I noticed water under our water heater on Saturday morning and Bob's name and number were written on it. He installed the water heater for the previous owner over 10 years ago. I called Bob and left a message. He called back within an hour and said he had other jobs lined up for the day but he could come by at 4 PM. He asked me questions over the phone that confirmed that the problem was a leak within the tank. Bob was on time and knew immediately what to do. Within two hours, he had removed the old water heater and installed a new one. There were a couple of drain lines still to install, but it was getting late, so he came back Sunday morning at 10, again on time, to finish the job. Bob is affable, capable, efficient and clearly takes great pride in his work. His dogs are friendly, too. I highly recommend Bob Cowden plumbing. read more

Bob came recommended by several people. Friendly and completed the job ($100 over his estimate). But thats when the problem started. A leak developed in the area that he repaired. Not the repair itself, just an area below his repair. I was not asking him for "warranty" work as I did not blame him for the new leak. I would have been happy paying for the new repair. But this guy would only make empty promises. Never showed when he said he would (at least 3 times). Never returned my calls (4 messages left). A real gem of customer service. I had to block my phone number when calling him to get him to answer my call. After listening to his excuses I told him to forget it. I'll hire someone else to fix it. TAKE YOUR CHANCES WITH THIS GUY. If you develope a problem later he will surely LEAVE YOU HANGING OUT TO DRY. I'm not giving him any more of my money ever again. read more

We hired Bob several times for plumbing concerns. He did a decent job on small jobs and was reasonablely priced. Then, mysteriously, he just did not return calls, didn't follow through as he said he would, and never would explain his actions (or lack of action) to us. We finally gave up and found another plumber who was better, reliable, and gave senior discounts. We were actually never really sure if Bob Cowden was a licensed plumber as he never put a license or a number on his billing. read more
