This place used to be nice. After Had 23 hours long flight thought it would be nice to have a nice breakfast n coffee at Bob Evans, Apparently no one wash dishes anymore. All dishes brought it on the table were unwashed. What happened???!! Dirty cups, plates.. etc... and the coffee tasted like water. Food was undercooked. Waitress was kinda rude too. Went there for the first time yesterday for breakfast and the waitress was very quick to get us out of the door. We sat and waited for our food, which was really good. She didn't place the plates near or close to who's they belonged to. But again the food was great. Pot roast and mashed potatoes are a hard combination to pass up. Combine them with fresh yeast rolls and you have a comfort food meal that is on my top ten. The pot roast was warm and creamy with its the perfect amount of vegetables to gravy/meat ratio. The mashed potatoes tasted fresh and were also warm. The start of the show (the yeast rolls) topped off my great mid afternoon meal. I also had a small salad that was also tasty. Update: COVID dinning: I had turkey and dressing, carrots and mashed potatoes. Really decent meal. Friday April 8, 2022 So this review is an update for the review I last wrote yesterday. So I found out door dash is who made the mistake by not picking up the 3rd bag we had with our order. So my apologies for thinking someone at the restaurant was not doing their job correctly, but until you pick up a phone and speak to someone, you never know. So I felt I was in the wrong how I wrote the first review. I just wish those folks who work for door dash were not so fast to leave before checking if they got the whole order. After speaking to the staff and the manager, It was agreed we could get the items that were missing the next day, which they offered other items again like the pancake and etc, but My Lady and I are not greedy like that, just wanted the items we paid for that were missing, but the staff and manager were nice and understanding of the issue. First off, I've never been to this chain before, I wasn't sure what to expect. First impression, clean, good layout, cracker barrel type grab and go stuff, t shirts etc. I was warmly greeted by the only waitress working at 7:45, I wasn't worried as there were only 2 occupied tables. This waitress is a treasure, her name is Beth, and she moves at the speed of sound. Her attitude really brightens the day, and her warm familiar tone and banter, makes this location stand out. The food came quickly and very well prepared, no complaints there. I even had to have a slice of apple pie for a breakfast desert. Very clean! Unfortunately, seems like they don't require employees to wear masks. Even if every employee is vaccinated (who knows?), you can still get and give COVID. You're not likely to get too sick if you're vaccinated, and I'm vaccinated as well so I'm unlikely to get symptomatic as well as I'm younger so that's a plus, but both of those mean I'd likely be an asymptomatic spreader and could spread it without knowing to random people I have no choice but to interact with in close quarters and they might get seriously sick. It's less than a quarter inch thick piece of fabric that goes a long way, so disappointed to see that. But, my server was nice, my food was great (they got my side mixed up with my partner's, but to me that's a non issue - just rotate the plates!), coffee was hot and delicious, and our server checked in on us often. Fairly cheap for such a filling meal! As someone with a large vehicle that's awkward to park, I enjoy the parking lot layout as well. Probably wouldn't stop in again due to lack of masks for the foreseeable future, but when the pandemic is more in check, I'd love to revisit :) read more

Debbie Owens, the general manager, went above and beyond to help me and my mother out today. She was absolutely amazing. Doordash delivered the wrong order to my mother. My mom is sick and can not drive. I was unable to help, so Debbie made sure my mom got her order. Debbie called me and spoke to me for a long time. I will remember her kind words forever. I ordered curbside tonight I ordered the honey butter chicken with mashed potatoes and corn and you get a biscuit with it. They put all the items in the one container and the honey butter, gravy and corn juices all were on the bottom and the biscuit soaked it all up and it was great. Instead of the cookie I paid $2 extra for the peanut butter pie and it was AMAZING!!! My only small issue was I also ordered soup but they didn't give me a spoon to eat it. read more

When chile!!!! I move here from the West Coast and The area I grew up in doesn't have A Bob Evans. I had already made up my mind that I was going to have breakfast, but when I got there and saw turkey and dressing in the menu, I quickly changed my mind. My wife stopped here after a long day on the road. We knew what we wanted. Ordered quickly. Both of us got the Chicken fried steak. My wife is weird, she wants brown gravy on hers. I know....that ain't right. But she ordered it that way and the waiter read it back. He got it right. When they brought it out she had white gravy on her steak and brown gravy on her potatoes. We sent it back So they could make it the way she ordered it. They literally wiped the white gravy off with a towel and soaked it in brown gravy. She sent it back again. A little advice. If you're going to talk about customers do it in back where they can't hear you. The waiter told the cook to wash off the gravy and throw the steak back in the fryer. Eff you. Why not? We had a great time today at Bob Evans, Anderson. The waitress, Beth, kept us in stiches and treated us like we were her only customers, even though she was very busy! We were a group of 6. Waitress was fine. The problem was that there was a hair baked into the middle of the banana bread. Then we found a hair in the omelet and in the Pepsi glass. The waitress did her best to remedy the problems. The manager did not approach our table. When we approached him by the cashier's stand, he just said, "I'll adjust the bill". The new bill did not list our order, just the total. I e-mailed Bob Evans headquarters TWICE and the only response was 2 ads touting their good food. I recently went to bob Evans for breakfast. I remember going there a few years ago and it was busy with fast service and good food. I was shocked to see this restaurant slipping bad. I had to wait to be seated by a gentleman that had hygiene issues. It took five minutes to be greeted at my table by a less than enthusiastic server. I waited 15 minutes for eggs, rubbery bacon and undercooked hash browns. I was equally surprised by the empty seats. Sad to see a once stable good breakfast spot slip so badly. read more

I ordered 4 meals from their website, with their delivery being with door dash. I got a text stating that my food would be delivered at the time stated I. The text. It did not get to me for almost a full hour AFTER the stated delivery time and our food was ice cold. When calling the store the manager told me that it wasn't her problem and I needed to contact door dash who also stated wasn't their problem wait her to call the store. This order was almost $50. Since the pandemic we have ordered here often and never had an issue when using grub hub. I do not recommend ordering from their website or from them and getting delivery. I am very dissatisfied with their customer service and how they handled this situation. I will not be supporting this business going forward. read more

We were on our way back from a basketball league in Fishers and stopped here because the ones in Fort Wayne have good food and fast service. Well - Not in ANDERSON!!! We were a party of 5 - not big by any means. Restaurant was pretty empty at 7:30 pm on Saturday evening. We sat down and ordered drinks. 5 minutes went by. Got our drinks and ordered. 25 minutes went by!!!! No drink refills, no "how are you doing your food will be up soon" NOTHING. We finally got our bread and salads - the exact same time as our meals. I hate it when this happens. So - we eat our salads while our meals sit and get cold. YUK. No reason to complain to the manager - because he is the one that helped the server bring the food - pretty sad. Hard to tell how the food was originally, since it was cold and "gloppy' when we finished our salads and ate it. I forgot - my son ordered the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy. The turkey came out without the mashed potatoes. The server said she would be right back with them. Well - she finally brought them out when my son was almost finished with his meal. Why weren't the potatoes made at the same time? The turkey dinner comes with mashed potatoes. The server said they took longer because they had to come from "way in the back". WHAT? Way in the back of what - the STATE of INDIANA?? Needless to say - won't be back - too bad because we drive this route every week and wanted to find a good, decent place to eat. I really like Bob Evans and it's sad to see this one slip down hill. I've noticed in the past year or so, the food has been hit or miss and the service is continually bad. I usually do an online carry out order. I arrive at the scheduled pick up time and it's never been ready when I get there. Tonight, I waited 15mins past the scheduled pick up. Service was not very friendly or welcoming. It's a pet peeve of mine to not be acknowledged when entering a business. They had 3 people working in and around the carry out/ register area. Absolutely horrible! We saw our waitress 4 times. 1st to take our order. 2nd to drop off our drinks. 3rd to drop the food off and 4th was to drop off the check. She did not check on us in between or anything! We had to flag someone else down just to get ranch for the dry as hell burger! everything tasted so frozen!
