My wife and I were making a quick trip to get something to eat before going to the theater. It happened to be Valentine's Day so we wanted to avoid the upscale restaurants that would be filled with couples celebrating the day. She had seen the Bob Evans was offering a two dinners for $20 special and it was on our way so we stopped at the location on Rockside Road. As we walked to the ramp to enter the restaurant I noticed that they had many empty tables with no customers, but was surprised to find that there was about a dozen people waiting to be seated. The restaurant was more than half empty yet they were taking names and making people wait! So I asked the person who eventually showed up to add my name to the list why aren't you seating people when all these tables are empty? He replied that the waitresses were overwhelmed and they were trying to spread out the crowd. They had a total of four wait staff!! Look folks Bob Evans isn't that great any night of the year to understaff your restaurant and run a special that you advertise that same day is absolutely unconscionable. If this is how you treat your customers I don't ever want to be one of them. Whoever manages this restaurant should be fired. I will never return. read more

I think exceptional service deserves recognition, and the service I received at this Bob Evans was above and beyond what's expected. My girlfriend and I are in town for the Browns season opener and stopped in for lunch. We got our meals in a fine amount of time, but one of the sides with my meal took a little bit longer and came out once I was done. It was no big deal; I didn't make a hassle. Never been to a Bob Evans so I was intrigued as I've heard good things. What a disappointment. The waitstaff did the best they could, but the hosts could care less if we were there. The food was surprisingly terrible considering it was the breakfast menu. I love cooked breakfast and have not been to a restaurant where it's bad. But this was the exception. Since I am visiting and know there's a location in my home state, I was willing to give them a second chance...until I was paying my bill. Our family of five eats at Bob Evans regularly. Over the years we have seen several remodels and changes to the Bob Evans brand but we've found that we've always enjoyed the down-home atmosphere and the country style cooking. Our kids have always gotten free kids meals for their birthdays and we probably eat there about six times a year. It's not high cuisine. I have kids who love pancakes for any meal. But there are selections for everyone for lunch and dinner, good honest stick to your ribs food, great biscuits, rolls and flavored beads. We had great service today on a busy Sunday. My only complaint over the past six months or so has been that the WiFi has not worked for me at all ever. read more

Stopped in early Friday, and was not greeted or acknowledged as six employees kept walking by and were busy having conversations with each other instead of taking care of customers. I was looking for something convenient to hotel, delicious, and a place with options. This place has all of the above. The service was good and my food was very fresh and not greasy. Went with my mother for a late lunch yesterday because she had a gift card. Not crowded, slow service. This irritated my mother, although much of the delay was due to the senior tables that insist that the waitress tell them every single ingredient in every dish three times. I had the cod dinner ($10.99) which was a nice sized piece of fish with a coating so hard that you had to cut it with a knife. My mother had two eggs with three slices of bacon for $6.99 which I thought was ridiculous. He was not sure of the sides and other servers noticed he was having a hard time, disappointed that they don't work as a team to make a better experience for the customers. We came to this bob Evans the other day and it was by far the worst experience we've had. We got seated immediately, but it went downhill from there. After we all sat down, we waited at least 15 minutes for the waitress to come over to get some sort of order. So we order our drinks and our food since we were sitting there for 15+ minutes before someone came over. The waitress left and we waited for at least 10 minutes for her to bring the drinks over. About 5 minutes later, she came back to confirm our orders (like you haven't put them in yet?!). We then got our assorted breads 10 minutes later and when we asked for more, she didn't bring any. About half an hour after ordering, we finally get our food. It was meh. The biscuits and banana bread were the best part. A long while into eating, we asked again for bread and for drink refills. We never got them. Then 10 minutes later, the waitress asked if we were still doing okay (?? We literally asked for more bread and drinks 10 minutes ago and never got them). Worst. Restaurant. Worse experience I've ever had at a Bob Evans, EVER! Went there with my elderly uncle who ordered the Senior's size Pot Roast and I tried ordering the regular size Pot Roast Dinner. Their menu says you can substitute any side for the standard side which comes with the meal, so I asked to have the Mac and Cheese instead of the Mashed Potatoes. I was told that wasn't allowed, that the manager doesn't allow it unless you get the Mac and Cheese under the Pot Roast and gravy, just as the Mashed Potatoes would have come. I told them to please ask the manager to put the Mac and Cheese on the side or just forget about me eating anything; that's how silly I found this request. What about customer service and customer satisfaction? Does it seem to any of you reading this that this Bob Evans cares more about their silly rules than they do their customers satisfaction? I've never heard of anything so silly in my life. The manager told the waitress that she would allow it this one time (sounded a lot like my first grade elementary teacher). Well when they brought out our dinners, my uncle, who ordered the senior size Pot Roast had more on his plate than I did. Without any exaggeration, I had what looked like all of 4 or 5 forks of Pot Roast, and hey are charging $10.29 for the dinner. What a rip off, which I told the waitress is how I felt about it and that they could either give me more of a real portion or simply take it off my bill and not serve me anything. The result, was that I never got to eat anything at this Bob Evans, and the manager never even had the decency to come out and speak with me. Don't eat here, poor management and customer service! There are morons working here! Stopped here after hotel stay for Browns game. As soon as we walked in, we stood at the hostess station for a few minutes before being addressed; then the hostess said to have a seat without taking our name which was odd. After we ordered, it took 30 minutes before we got our food. The server didn't bring out our silverware until after the food came out. The food was good but could have been served hotter. The kids meal pancakes were the size of silver dollars and all three kids left hungry, so I disagree with Bob Evans' quote posted near our table: "You won't go hungry around here." The manager came around to check on us. I told him about the 30 minute wait and he said he was sorry without offering to give us a break on the bill. When we checked out, the cashier took several minutes to process our bills which was ridiculous. Finally, when one of the boys in our group ordered a chocolate chip cookie, which was on display, the cashier disappeared; couldn't figure out how to add a cookie to the bill; then said they were out of chocolate chip; and offered a peanut butter cookie. Horrible experience. It was a Sunday morning and Yes they were busy. However it was more about the indifferent and terrible attitude of the manager on duty than the place itself. My son and I sat down at the counter and were waited on in sufficient time we put order in right away as we knew what we wanted. At this point it was about 8:50 am. We knew order would take a little longer than usual due to how busy they were. We could see the screen near the grill that said average order time was about 20 minutes. The people next to us arrived 10 minutes after we did and had already got their food. At 9:30 we asked what was going on very politely and the waitress kinda knew there was an issue with the order never going in. She told us the manager was taking care of our order and it would be along shortly. 10 minutes later we had no food and manager kept ignoring us with the waitress still having to make excuses for him. He would look back at us then turn away as if he could not give a damn. Never spoke a word. Just ignored us. I put $5 down on counter for coffee and Apple juice we drank and told waitress we were tired of being ignored by the person responsible and she just looked at the manager and he threw his hands up and said to her "what do ya you want me to do?"... I told him thanks for ignoring us and we walked out. All he needed to do was walk over and say ...."look guys your order accidentally got missed and we are really sorry.. it's busy but we should not have this happen. Thanks so much for coming in and I will make sure it is up asap...just need a couple more minutes " instead he stuck his head in the sand. So having arrived today for the first time ever my wife and I settled down to what we thought was going to be a good breakfast. After all Bob Evans is a brand name you can trust right? What we got however was not. The good things were the staff was friendly and the biscuits were good. Now that the good things have been noted the bad will follow. My wife ordered the Sunshine Skillet and upon arrival she noticed the eggs were slightly scorched and the potatoes were undercooked. I myself tried the Pot Roast Hash but the meat itself was very salty, again the potatoes were undercooked (we all know the texture from eating undercooked potatoes in a potato salad) and my over easy eggs had been cooked so long they each had about one pea size bubble of liquid yolk in them. (Apparently the cook doesn't know over easy means count to ten once you flip them and then remove) The whole experience was not good and we will probably never come back due to the food being either overcooked and/or undercooked. read more

I went to have my breakfast here thinking there's not a lot of cars outside and I can eat right away its a mistake. I ordered my food right away and 15 mins later no food, so I decided to to used the restroom and when I came back my table is clear everything is gone, when I ask the server what happen and she reply we thought you left already and I said ok just make it to go then waited10 mins finally I got a bag and 2 containers inside and pay it for $10.95 I handed my $20 got my change back and turn around about to leave I looked in the bag and no silverware so I ask and she said I will get some in the back, 5 mins later nothing so I left. When I reach my workplace and have breakfast I saw the worst breakfast I've ever seen 3 slice of bacon about half serving of scrambled egg and hash brown and I won't forget the burned toast for $10.95 I forgot to take picture coz I'm so upset and throw it away thinking why would I eat this. My long story short I would not recommend this place to anybody and they don't even deserve a star read more
