This is the WORST service I have ever experienced at a Bob Evans. The restaurant was almost empty and there were many employees, yet the service was extremely slow. Our food took an extra long time to arrive and we never got rolls even after asking the waitress a second time to bring rolls. The food was meh... I've been eating Bob's breakfast for 50 years so I know what it should taste like. The gravy was so old it was almost black from sitting and being reconstituted repeatedly. That wasn't the bad part! There were three tables sat in the entire restaurant because there was only one server. I get that! Times are tough but there was a manager and a hostess just milling around. Especially the male manager. He was talking about family in Florida his blood pressure yada yada yada The Hostess was at least answering the phones and telling anyone that came in that they were on a wait because they were short staffed. One of them or even both of them could've sat people and gotten them a cup of coffee or an orange juice and had them wait Instead of piling up bodies by the door. It's was off putting and a bit rude. The manager and the hostess rolled silverware together for a good five minutes and chatted about things. they could've very easily helped the server that they did have on the floor by sitting gas and starting them with a drink.The best part for me was when my companion and I went to use the restroom on our way out and neither bathroom had soap to wash your hands! Service has really improved since we were here last, about 8 months ago. Guess more staff was hired. There is nothing more irritating than waiting 30-45 minutes for your food after ordering, which was the case in the past. Our waitress was very attentive today. As for our food, when I ordered fresh fruit I wasn't expecting to be served a hunk of grapes still on the vine. Ugh! We might try them again in the future. read more

Went online Sunday, 7/11/21, around 5:15pm to place an order for takeout for dinner. Got all the way to checkout and selecting a pickup time when I discovered the pickup times started at 7:15am Monday. I then went to Google and learned this location closes at 4pm every day of the week per an update of store hours by the management a week ago. I checked all other Bob Evans stores in the area, and they close at 8 or 8:30pm. Not sure how much longer this location can survive given their labor shortage and long-term poor service, which indicates the need for new management. read more

Growing up Bob Evans was the place for breakfast. Now I would consider it pretty basic as there are other more fun breakfast spots to choose from, many of them local. My family stopped here from breakfast over the Holidays. The food was ok and the service was ok. Nothing special. I would give them a 2.5 if I could, but it is hard to screw up eggs and sausage. A couple of things that were almost comical. We could overhear the waitresses bantering over who had more tables. While it was not a loud argument it was not what customers want to hear while having breakfast. The other thing that was odd is that during these crazy COVID times they had most of the diners sitting in the same area when there were other parts of the restaurant that would allow for more distance but would have made the two ladies arguing over who had more tables cover more ground. read more

Due to our usual Thanksgiving Day plans being changed this year, my sister and I decided to try out their Thanksgiving Day meal. We ate indoors and were seated immediately. Our food did take quite some time to be ready and our server was a little absent, but I'm assuming that's because it was a full house and there were a lot of people waiting for takeout orders. I ordered the Feast plus some extras on Christmas Eve to take home hot. I didn't receive the whole order, so I had to wait 45 extra minutes for 3 missing sides. Most of the food was cold when I got home. I tried to reheat the food on the stove and in the oven, but it was taking too long. We reheated individual plates of food for everyone. Horrendous service. They seem to have zero training. Family of 4 on a Thursday night (9/29/22), 15 minute wait for a table with the restaurant about about 1/3 full. Maybe they are short staffed, sure. When we are sat by a woman wearing an apron after the wait she walks away without asking if we want anything or telling us someone will be right over. Is she our waitress? 10 Minutes go by and no one else came to us. As I sit there I can't help but count the tables. There were 6 tables with people, and two tables that were done and had left but needed to be bussed/cleaned. I counted at least 4 severs working and one staffer in a white apron who I think was a busser. One of those dirty tables was next to ours and one of he waitresses came to clear it, didn't look at us. She came back a few minutes later and wiped that table still didn't look at us. All the staff that were waiting tables were walking so slow and casual and chatting behind the counter. We were about to bail when the woman that sat us walked by and we aced her down and asked if anyone was able to take our order. She said sure what would you like, and I'm still confused like are YOU our server? She brought our drinks back a few minutes later and said "she's really busy with a large order". The biggest table there was a 5 top but ok if you know she's busy maybe offer to take our order or get someone else to take our order if you're not a server? When we hit the 20 minute mark it was time to give up and when we told the kids they both started crying of course saying how hungry they were. The woman that sat us and got our drinks came over when she heard them and said "sorry about the wait" but didn't offer any solution. I asked to pay for our drinks and said we're giving up. She said not to worry about paying for the drinks and said she understands why we decided to leave. So she was aware of our situation, but didn't step in to help? Run food for each other? Take orders for your fellow server if they are backed up? Take the table yourself? I get places are short staffed but Thais didn't seem to be the case. It seems like there was just no leadership or management or teamwork. They don't seem to have the basic fundamentals down on how to cover 6 tables with 4 (or 5 if you count the busser) employees. Not sure if I should expect a good experience at Bob Evans but then again they want people to come there and eat right? This was particularly frustrating because it's so simple to fix if you want to. Most of my experience at this particular location has been large carryout orders at short notcie. This location has been very accommodating and worked quickly to prepare our orders and get us in and out. They even provided plates, serving utensils, and flatware without us even asking. i took my aunt to Bob Evans for lunch today and was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered the post roast, carrots and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were hot but the rest of it was lukewarm. The server never came back to ask if everything was ok so i ate what i could until it got down right cold. Such a waste of food. When the server came to give us our check i told her about the food and she didn't care. This is the second time i have had a bad meal there. Not going to lie, I go here for the pancakes. I've tried to find another restaurant in the area that tops their pancakes, but I cannot! This is a great restaurant to go to if you and your group want to order various things. For instance, one person in your group can get breakfast while the other one can get lunch or dinner. Most (if not all) of the meals are served with bread. They give you the option to choose which you prefer. I do believe it is seasonal, but make sure you try their pumpkin bread. It is delicious! Also, you can't go wrong with their rolls. Carbs, please! Know that when you order their breakfast meals (and literally most of their entrees), it comes with tons of food. I really enjoyed our breakfast here this morning. I ordered the eggs with sausage, hash browns and pancakes. We also ordered a side of biscuits and sausage gravy. My breakfast was very good. My wife said her French toast was also very good. The service was friendly and for the most part pretty good. Since we were a group of six, our food came out in 2 main waves. But for the most part, we received all the food at the same time. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The Premium Thanksgiving meal was a big disappointment this year as none of the food made a very good impression on our family. The gravy had a burnt taste and as a result tainted many of the dishes. The place had about 3 families inside, food ordered (breakfast) took over 30 min. for 4 people, medium eggs came out nearly hard boiled for 2 of the 4 and burnt around edges, sausage patties burnt like charcoal on one side but not the other (couldn't take pic because manager took them from me then brought out the same plate with the recooked food only). Told manager (Ed) about it and he said it was unacceptable but after coming back he said he asked his two of his cooks if they'd eat it and one of them said yeah, then further commented that guy would eat anything. He may have been joking but really why would you have that person as a cook? Waitress took forever after the 30 min to bring out extra biscuits 15 min later. Worst of all my wife found a hair in her home fries but waitress said it was from what they clean the grill with, you be the judge, but really not offer to get another set of home fries or any refund of the meal. 1. I went to Bob Evans on Easter we did curbside pickup. We both ordered the Turkey dressing dinner which we have gotten in the pass and is always good but the workers always forget something. This time they took it upon themselves to substitute my banana bread with 2 biscuits which I ended up throwing away because that's not what I wanted. My phone number is on my order so I don't know why they didn't call me and ask me what would I want instead. Also I ask for extra cranberry sauce and Gravy and that wasn't in the bag neither. I ask the worker that brought my items out was everything in there and she said it was. When I got home I notice the missing items and called the restaurant, the worker that answered said they ran out of banana bread and apologized. I asked did they run out of gravy too because it wasn't in the bag she said no they must've forgot. This is what I don't like about businesses they have these workers that don't go above and beyond, because what she should've did was took my information and offered me to pick up some banana bread at another time. When I asked why we were told we were not permitted to have a booth as a baby seat on the end is a fire hazard so we had to wait on a table. I told her that since spacing between tables less than from booth to tooth or booth to a table that makes no sense. Server overheard and got a Mgr who then got us a booth. We used to come here for the consistency of the food and service. I don't know how much longer Bob Evans is going to survive. I still love the grilled chicken cob salad and my husband likes the breakfast items. But they need some serious leadership. The tables are not bussed until they're needed. Walking into a restaurant and seeing all the tables not bussed makes one wonder what else they don't pay attention to. The staff bantering loudly back & forth is a little unprofessional. I love it when it's obvious the staff is happy and work well together, but this banter indicates how chaotic this restaurant is run. Our server tonight is the best one we've had in our last several visits. It would make me sad to see Bob Evans suffer the fate of so many other restaurant chains. Today they were slammed which I get but they didn't really have any system as to how they were handling all the orders they had, they said it was only a half hour wait till our food was ready but I stood outside and waited 20 minutes before I just decided to walk in and ask them what was going on. They didn't even have my order started which was upsetting since they have the wrong time online when you order. Finally when I got my food we got home and opened it up and they burnt our home fries, and forgot the chocolate chips in the pancakes. My wife, Mom, Dad and little brother all decided to go to brunch. My wife REALLY likes Bob Evans for some reason...so, what she wants...she gets. Our waitress got us drinks, 10 minutes later she took our order, then she was gone for 20 mins. We needed drink refills after minute 3 or 4. She didn't even bring out our food. Someone else did that with a manager, and then we had to ask them for refills. The food was very tasteless...or, I guess it tasted old...if that's a taste. We get brought here a lot by family and I always dread it a little. I've honestly never liked any Bob Evans, but this one in particular has always been exceptionally bad. The food always tastes like it was prepared several days ago, which is odd given how long it takes them to bring anything out. The service is equally terrible, but to be fair they always seem really understaffed. Several times we've been it looked like they only had two or three servers working the entire restaurant. For what it's worth the place is always clean, but that's little consolation faced with the glacial pace of the service and the pitiful quality of the food. With Sichuan Bistro and SuRa Korean Cuisine practically across the street there's no excuse to subject yourself to this unless you have to. Very disappointed today. Stopped for our weekly lunch and ended up not eating. Ordered Ham and Swiss with no onion or pickle. It came with bits of onions and it was obvious the rest were scrapped off prior to serving. I felt as if I had to prove, which I did, that this sand which has/had onions on it. Very disappointing. During Covid ordered from there number of times. Usually in past we ordered turkey family meal. It makes us have 3 days of food. Just husband and I. Last order we also ordered salad family meal. No salad nothing, no phone call. Call was told they ran out of salad. Charger the same amount. Called Door Dash got credit. Start of going down hill. Also family meal no soup. Never tried pot roast until last night. Arrived well packed. Pot roast only half full. Potato container 2 inches from top. Also picture shows many carrots. Meal large section fatty. Salad nowas only half full. Also packaged under hot food. Never before. If this is downsizing you can keep it. Not worth the money charged. I have been to this Mason Bob Evans several times in the past few months, and the food is consistently good. Sometimes if you arrive early in the day, the breads are not ready before the meal, but they are brought to the table by mid-meal. Service was friendly and responsive and I recommend the broasted chicken and the entree salads. They are now at full staff from what the manager said, and so the kitchen was really fast! Give this location a try, I feel like you will enjoy the experience and a manager will prompty take care of your needs if you call upon them. read more
