I know all about his health and family issues now.

The food was meh... I've been eating Bob's breakfast for 50 years so I know what it should taste like. The gravy was so old it was almost black from sitting and being reconstituted repeatedly. That wasn't the bad part! There were three tables sat in the entire restaurant because there was only one server. I get that! Times are tough but there was a manager and a hostess just milling around. Especially the male manager. He was talking about family in Florida his blood pressure yada yada yada The Hostess was at least answering the phones and telling anyone that came in that they were on a wait because they were short staffed. One of them or even both of them could've sat people and gotten them a cup of coffee or an orange juice and had them wait Instead of piling up bodies by the door. It's was off putting and a bit rude. The manager and the hostess rolled silverware together for a good five minutes and chatted about things. they could've very easily helped the server that they did have on the floor by sitting gas and starting them with a drink. The best part for me was when my companion and I went to use the restroom on our way out and neither bathroom had soap to wash your hands! It just makes me wonder where they're all washing their hands before they're serving us food.

Unfortunately, we don't have a Bob Evans where we live so when we visit family, we come here for breakfast. You can't beat the quality and the price! The brioche French toast is some of the best. Today they also started serving Mimosas as well! Can you guys open up a Bob Evans in Charleston SC please!

    Bob Evans Thanksgiving Day Meal
    Katie J.

Due to our usual Thanksgiving Day plans being changed this year, my sister and I decided to try out their Thanksgiving Day meal. We ate indoors and were seated immediately. Our food did take quite some time to be ready and our server was a little absent, but I'm assuming that's because it was a full house and there were a lot of people waiting for takeout orders. Overall the food was good, and we were given so much, that it felt worth the price of $15. Overall it was a good experience and I'm grateful they offer this on a holiday!

She made us feel completely comfortable and truly made an already wonderful meal even better. Exceptional service from beginning to end! The restaurant itself is adorable, modern, beautifully decorated, and has a lovely patio. But the service and food completely stole the show. We ordered several appetizers, including the bruschetta, fried green tomatoes, corn and ricotta dip, and pimento croquettes. I'm VERY picky, and I genuinely wouldn't change a single thing. Every dish was flavorful, perfectly balanced, beautifully presented, and cooked exactly right. The bruschetta was so good that we ordered a second round! The fried green tomatoes were perfectly crisp with a delicious sauce, and the pimento croquettes were crispy on the outside, creamy inside, and paired perfectly with the sauce and pickles. The corn and ricotta dip was delicious as well. Nothing was too salty, under-seasoned, overcooked, or missing anything. The flavors were spot-on across the board. For dessert, we had the peach butter cake with everything on the side. The cake was delicious on its own and even better with the ice cream. It's rare to try so many dishes and not want to change a single thing, but that was the case here. The food was top-notch, and Olivia truly made the experience. We will definitely be back and will absolutely recommend this place to others. Amazing food, amazing service, and an overall experience that went above and beyond.

I loved how she verified food allergies with the cooks. The food was great! The wings were a good size and the sauce was nice. The asparagus was cooked well and the aoli accompanied it very well. We find the drinks particularly reasonably priced and the cocktails are good. We really like the blueberry one. The space is sunny and open. I forget our servers name, but the manager also came by to check on us and even got my food boxed. We got a burger and the chicken katsu and of course the famous biscuits to start. The biscuits were very good but also a bit buttery greasy for our taste. One was enough (we split it). I did take the rest home and add some eggs to it for breakfast which was good! The burger was pretty good. Nice and salty. Not dripping with grease. Soft bun! The fries were decent but not my preferred style. I like fresh cut and these were kind of a shoestring fry. The chicken was decent but a pretty small portion that left my fiancé hungry. He said the side with it was just ok. We got cocktails that I can't recall but they were pretty good. We would go back and try some other things. Probably on a less busy day earlier in the week.

BALDWHITEGUYREVIEWS: BUCKS TAVERN 3299 West State Route…read more22/3, Loveland, OH www.buckstavern.com https://www.facebook.com/BaldWhiteGuyReviews/ WE FOUND A TAVERN IN THE WOODS... IN A STRIP MALL. And honestly, I'm not mad about it. I'm always on the hunt for somewhere local, somewhere new, and somewhere that gives me an excuse to eat entirely too much food. The Cute Dimpled One somehow found Bucks Tavern on the World Wide Web. Apparently the internet isn't completely useless. We needed somewhere to grab some fuel before heading off for a Nippert at Night experience. Now here's the problem... The game didn't start until around 7:30. My bedtime is 8:30. So basically, this was going to be an extreme endurance event. THE ATMOSPHERE Bucks Tavern is tucked into a strip mall in Loveland. Parking wasn't a problem for us, although I'm guessing things could get a little more interesting during the busy times. From the outside? Meh. Then you walk inside... WAIT A MINUTE. The outside says strip mall. The inside says "somebody's uncle owns a cabin in the woods and has been collecting deer heads since 1974." Warm colors, plenty of seating, a fireplace with a deer head hanging above it, high tops, low tops, a fully stocked bar and TVs everywhere. And speaking of high tops... Who decided these tables were a good idea? You sit down and suddenly you're back in elementary school sitting at the Big Kids Table, except now your legs are dangling and you're wondering if you're going to need a step stool to get back down. I really liked the decor. It was comfortable, welcoming and had that neighborhood tavern feel. And there were plenty of people inside who clearly weren't first timers. The staff seemed to know several of the customers. That's a good sign. It had a little bit of a Cheers vibe. You know the kind of place where somebody walks in and three people yell, "HEY BOB!" That's what you want in a local tavern. Mrs. Patty L. was our server and she was fantastic. She kept my water full, which is basically the gold standard for me. #Score THE FOOD Mrs. Patti L stopped by and got us started with the Mozzaluna Breaded Cheese. Basically breaded mozzarella triangles with marinara. The cheese was creamy. The marinara was good. Plenty of food. But... $13? I'm going to need the mozzarella to start telling me its life story for that price. It wasn't bad at all. I just didn't think it was a $13 appetizer. The Mrs. ordered the 5 Mini Burgers. Her review? She likes the mini burgers. Same price range as a regular burger, but she likes having five little burgers staring back at her. And naturally, she didn't eat them all. Because apparently we ordered enough food to feed a small township. I started looking through the menu trying to find something different. Bucks has a pretty traditional tavern menu with burgers, sandwiches, Reubens, club sandwiches, brats, tenderloin, chicken, fish, salads, soups and desserts. But then I saw it... THE MEATLOAF SANDWICH. Ladies and gentlemen... WE HAVE A WINNER. MEATLOAF SANDWICH A "Signature Sandwich" they say. Homemade meatloaf, lightly grilled, on a telera bun with pork barbecue, fried onion straws and barbecue sauce. And crinkle-cut fries. When it hit the table my first thought was: "Holy crap. That's a lot of sandwich." My second thought was: "Well, I guess we're doing this." I am a BIG fan of meatloaf. My grandmother and mother both made great meatloaf, and despite years of trying, I have never managed to duplicate either one. So whenever I see meatloaf on a menu, I'm probably ordering it. This one did NOT disappoint. The bun was delicious. The meatloaf was excellent. Then you get the pork barbecue and barbecue sauce kicking in, and suddenly your taste buds are having a little meeting. It was messy. Not "grab a napkin" messy. I'm talking cut-the-sandwich-in-half, deploy-the-napkins, accept-your-fate messy. I have a big mouth. No comment necessary. It was a challenge. The crinkle-cut fries were also cooked perfectly. Crispy without being burnt. And yes... I ate the whole thing. I was absolutely stuffed. Which brings me to something I need to address with myself... I NEED TO STOP ORDERING AN APPETIZER. Every single time. I walk into a restaurant hungry and suddenly I'm like: "Yeah, we should probably get an appetizer." Then the food arrives and I'm sitting there thinking: "Who authorized this?" #SaveTheAppetizer THE GOOD STUFF Friendly service Clean restrooms Comfortable atmosphere Full-service bar Plenty of seating Lots of TVs for sports Food portions that don't leave you wondering where the rest went Local neighborhood feel Staff that actually seemed to know their regulars Bucks even advertises eight HD televisions and Sunday Ticket, so if you're looking for somewhere to watch a game, they clearly came prepared. They were an event planner's dream. They checked in with me, they made sure everything was as it should be. They were kind and very cordial. I can't sing their praises enough. The feedback I got was it was a great venue and great food and everyone had a great time. So with that many greats I will say that I hope to work there again with future events.

I started with the day's cream of mushroom soup with goat cheese. The soup was excellently crafted, and the mild goat cheese was the right addition. A tangy goat cheese would have clashed with the simplicity of the soup. My friend chose the jambalaya, and was very happy with it. I had pot roast, subbing wonderful roasted garlic potatoes for the mashed (which I highly recommend). The bordelaise sauce that comes on the side allows one to create a beef burguignon-type dish. The beef was cooked expertly, so it could be sliced into tender pieces that hold together. We both enjoyed their signature cornbread, of course. My friend's warm apple pie was amazing. My crème brûlée was the only thing in the entire meal that was less than amazing. The sugary layer on top was exactly as thin as I like it. The custard underneath was not impressively silky in texture. That isn't bad, but it also isn't difficult to achieve. It definitely didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying every bite, and it's the largest crème brûlée I've ever had. So, I highly recommend Desha's, and definitely won't let years pass before I return. Addition: I should not have posted my review until after I had tried the bread pudding that I got to take home. Connor, who generally doesn't care for bread pudding, recommended it, so I had it today, heated 1 minute, covered, in the microwave. That stuff is wonderful. If you get it to go, do not taste it before you heat it, because it is clearly designed to be eaten warm. It is short on raisins, but that is a matter of taste, so I can overlook it. It isn't as good as the apple pie, but I got a bite of that, too, so I have tried all three of the recipes that interest me most, although I have to try the blackberry cobbler, too. Oh, and the pot roast was still great the second day.
