Just a show I was at Bob Evans
    Cheryl L.

Went to have a dinner at 6:15 Thursday night nobody in the restaurant all the tables dirty we waited five minutes to be seated for people in the restaurant. Don't know how many cooks was in the back once seated 10 minutes later we got to order this is what my wildfire chicken salad look like when I asked for some extra barbecue sauce normally come on the side Never say he was gonna make another one, but it never showed so I left there without eating needs to have a manager there at all times people standing back behind the wall, bullshit and laughing, very disappointed

    Fresh Start Omelette. 5 stars!

Today, I ordered the fresh start Omelette. It was so good and tasted so fresh. They were busy but the Omelette came out in a reasonable amount of time. I have to give the cook 2 thumbs up! This location was very clean and comfortable. You can't go wrong with this omelette!

Marilee, our server, and Miss Okey Dokey Artichokie made our experience worthwhile. They have The Whole Hog on the menu and it's the whole farm. I did not clean my plate. I like a little of this and a little of that. Max loves his biscuits and gravy and gets it every time.

Not impressed, the only good thing going for them is they open late. Food was below average for price.

Chatter noise was low enough Iwe could reasonably talk together! She started with a french onion soup, steamy and thick, obviously homemade!! I had a lobster bisque with baquettes. She then chose the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes & green beans. I had the braised short ribs Mirepoix, garlic mash potatoes & csteamed carrots with short rib reduction! We topped the night off with a delightful PRINCESS DIANA'S Taste of Ocala award winning Bruleed Bread Pudding w/ fresh berries & Amaretto , Almonds!! Btw, the Chicken fried steak is offered every Sunday. Our server, Joanne, was excellent and very knowledgeable!! The only downside was about 3 items unavailable due to heavy traffic on Valentine's Day on Saturday. The tables were candlelit, clean, and seating was comfortable. I wont mention our coke & tea, we just dont imbibe in alcoholic drinks. But it appeared they had a wide assortment of choices!! I recommend THE BRAISED ONION!!

We got sat right away and greeted by our server. Our server was nice and helpful with the menu. We ordered fish n chips, Hawaiian salad, pow pow chicken, and chicken picatta. The salad came out with fresh ingredients and the dressing was delicious. The rest of the food was not good. The pow pow chicken was mostly breading and no chicken. The few small pieces of chicken we did have were way over cooked. The fish and chips had the same problem - mostly breading and no fish. Also, they don't have tartar sauce. I've never been to a place that sells fish n chips that doesn't have tartar sauce. The dining area is an open concept. There were some plants spread around the place is clean. Over all, the server was nice but the food wasn't very good. I wouldn't recommend eating there. We will try someplace else next time we are in town.

Even on a crowded Saturday evening the wait was not that long and we were given a nice booth table for our group. Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. Orders were entered incorrectly, and even after correcting them, they took my husband's plate twice. He had already finished his meal by the time they brought out the missing shrimp. The honey croissants were forgotten after we asked for them. They came out and looked like they were under baked. No one came by to apologize, nothing was adjusted on our bill, and no one checked in to see if we wanted dessert. We only came because we had a gift card, but I can confidently say we won't be returning. Very disappointing experience.

Apple Maps struggled to provided proper directions to parking and it might be because the area is under construction so just give yourself time to find Loosey's especially if going for dinner. It sure is worth the effort though, especially if you get Matthew as your server. He is full of wit and great local knowledge. He charmed our table from our first encounter. Loosey's has to be a local favorite because the quality and freshness of the food is outstanding. Matthew is a local treasure and made our experience there so memorable and fun. We all remarked that it must be so electric there when live music is on stage or it's a Gator game day. We started with the loaded potato skins. There were 5 large pieces that were covered with toppings and delivered pipping hot. I could easily order that as a meal next time I'm in town. Their house ranch dipping sauce that is drizzled on top was delicious. Several in our group ordered the Chic-fil Loosey's, which is a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, but I wasn't able to grab a photo as they were so eager to get started eating it. The portion of chicken breast was extremely large and the batter was perfectly crispy. Both diners exclaimed it was one of their all- time favorite chicken sandwiches they had ever eaten. Another diner took advantage of their wing special and exclaimed the Buffalo Garlic sauce was fantastic and she paired them with their ranch as well. She loved their added touch of the small paper basket topping the plate of wings for the bones. I had the Classic Beef Burger and it was cooked perfectly. There was a nice peppery flavor to the grill of the burger and the patty size was more than I expected. Especially for the price. I was so happy we found Loosey's. It was really good food. I encourage you to look past the construction mess and the "old wooden bar" stereotypes and trust me when o say, they take great pride on preparing high quality food.

Beautiful day so we sat outside in a lovely patio area. Great beer menu with draughts imported or domestic as well as a full bar. The menu was pretty much standard bar fare I had fish and chips and my wife had Mac and cheese. The fries on my plate were covered in salt. I tried to shake it off and wound up with a layer of salt on my plate. Most restaurant food is too salty for me as I cook at home low salt but this was crazy. I decided to try the Mac and cheese. It also had a cap of salt on it. I tried to dig to the bottom of the crock thinking that wouldn't be salty but I was wrong. The dish was prepared with salt throughout. Time to go and I did complain. The waitress said she hears that a lot and she offered to replace our meal to go but we didn't take her up on that offer. The fish was great! And we loved the vibe of the restaurant inside and out. I would go back again but knowing that I would order SALT FREE !!

We took a sunny drive over to celebrate a major birthday for my darling spouse.....and were FLOORED by the experience and the food...."THE FOOD"! Oh my Goodness!!! More on this shortly..... This Virginia girl (A Florida girl since the 1980's) fell in love with the eclectic decor and table settings that looked like my Momma and Grandma's heirlooms. Vintage prints and paintings. Red vintage bloomers with lace on the hook on the back of the door of the "Ladies' Retiring Room and Necessary" [my terms, to be fair...] Photographs of young belles and their children who arrived later. A decent interval later!!! NOW, the food. Hot, homemade cornbread to the table, and a peach ice tea that is like no other I have enjoyed ANYWHERE in the south. Hubby chose the Texan Chicken Fried steak, with smashed potatoes and greens, and I picked my favorite southern dish (one that I cannot make at home without ruining ~SHRIMP & GRITS!) and it was beyond description. Shrimp almost the size of quail, with perfect spices and texture. Creamy grits with cheese and a few bell peppers for a variety. I never DREAMED of using salt or pepper.....it would have been an affront the the dish itself, My husband's smile told me he loved HIS chosen dish down....that, and all but licking his plate! We have the decadent looking slices of cake her to share later with coffee, but there was no chance we would skip trying them.....but also no chance we could eat them immediately after lunch without exploding! Service was prompt without hovering, and we will be returning either for MY birthday or if we have friends come to visit. HIGHLY AND TOTALLY RECOMMEND FOR A SPECIAL MEAL.
