I stood at the counter for over 20 minutes and no one even acknowledged me. It wasn't until I started recording that someone came up to me and said you can't record In here and I expressed my concern and the lady "Riley" just walked away saying "I CANT!" So the staff is friendly, but when the management doesn't enforce health codes, you can't trust any of the food! There was hair was baked into the batter that coated the French toast. There were other issues like the toast was charred and the Little Piggy kids pancakes were not made with blueberries and bananas, they drew a face with chocolate sauce. We had to ask the waitress to go back and get us the bananas and clean the chocolate sauce off the pancakes (kids are picky). Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! Food is as close to homemade as you can get! Servers are friendly and the whole staff is so welcoming! We are making this one of our favorites here in Stafford! Visiting every other week! The menu has everything you could want and is varied from Breakfast all day to great burgers and sandwiches and Salads to awesome dinners including salmon and other healthy choices!! If i could give it 0 stars, i would. The overall experience was piss poor and rushed from the time my mother and i entered the door. The staff were visibly irritable the entire time and the food was not what we expected. It was absolutely disgusting. Very disappointed after going there for the past six years. Last Sunday, when the time changed, we went there and everyone was patiently waiting until one customer left because the kitchen was not working. First time and last time I will dine here. Food was below mediocre, table was dirty. My wife had to ask for a towel twice to wipe it down ourselves! The wait was 25 min but reasonable for the size of our party. If you are hungry and don't care about quality and want something inexpensive, this is an ok option since there is no Waffle House Or Denny's in the area. My family visited Bob Evans in Stafford Virginia and we had the worst service ever. It took 15 minutes before our order was taken and then over 45 minutes before we received it. There was two tables seated after us one with 6 people. They received their order before us. It took speaking with the Manager regarding this before our order was checked. Once we received our order half of it was barely hot. Worse service ever. Needless to say the tables that was waited on were Caucasian and ours was African American. Maybe this is not the reason but in looking throughout the restaurant other tables had no problem receiving there order in a timely manner. This is the 21st century. Slowest service of any breakfast restaurant. I travel a lot. I eat out a lot. I have been to this particular location many times and it's always the same story. Mass confusion at the kitchen serving window. Waitresses waiting in line for food to take out to their tables. A very course female personality (manager?) in the kitchen barking at the waitresses, while stacking food in the window in an unorganized fashion. For example, you order French toast and eggs. The French toast will sit under the warmer for 30 minutes while they eventually decide to cook an egg and pair them up into an order. I know it's Bob Evans, but this place needs an ordering system that uses some sort of digital device to relay orders to the kitchen. They have a screen up, filled with info, but nobody can figure out what is going on. Like, ever... meanwhile, You sit. Even at the bar, waiting on a waffle (40 minutes or more), 6 inches from a coffee pot, with three waitresses and an empty cup of coffee, for 20 minutes. The food is good, but the management and the "system" of getting food to the customers is the worst I have ever seen. read more

I recently moved back to the east coast after being gone for nearly 3 years. I haven't eaten in a Bob Evans in over 3 years, but I remember that it used to be a staple of great food years ago, so on a trip back home from DC I decided to stop in for lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon. This turned out to be a terrible decision. My waitress was very nice, but service was just bad. I waited over 40 minutes for two eggs, sausage, biscuits (which I never got) and hashbrowns. I waited 10 minutes for a glass of milk, and about 8 more minutes for a refill. The waitress kept coming over and asking how I was doing and I'm like "Just waiting on my food". She finally told me that my order had been lost in the back and she put it in again so it should be out any moment. Finally my food came and it was the most bland and over/undercooked food I've ever had. Eggs were just so bland, the sausage was undercooked and the hashbrowns were burnt and disgusting. I never even got my biscuits that were supposed to come with the meal. Overall I was just really, really, disappointed with the food and this experience makes me never want to return to this Bob Evans, or any other Bob Evans in the future. read more

Not impressed at all. 2 stars is being generous and that is only because my daughter LOVES the pancakes. Where to begin? We came on a Tuesday evening around 4:30 - not busy at all, only 2 other tables occupied at the time. We were seated at a booth and I noticed right away the table was gross and sticky. When a waitress FINALLY came to our table to take our drink orders she wiped the table down for us. After placing our orders of breakfast for my daughter (which she loved), I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak - which they were out of. I then opted for the chicken finger platter - out of that also...WHAT? So, I annoyingly picked a sirloin steak cooked medium. We were supposed to be offered either blueberry, banana nut bread, or dinner rolls while waiting for our meals. I had to ask for those. My steak came completely raw on the inside not even close to medium. I was reluctant to send it back but I knew I wouldn't eat it. So, after having to flag down the waitress, she took it back and said they would prepare a new plate for me. By the time it came out my daughter was done with her food and I just asked for a box for mine. Our drinks were never refilled and the waitress never brought our check. I just got annoyed and went to the cashier and told her what table I was at. Also, I received a punch card for a free cookie when a kids meal is purchased.....but they had NO cookies out.
