Be sure to get all offers with purchase in writing! My family has bought two brand new cars here, in cash. A couple years later, when my Sirius radio (which I was told at time of purchase that I would have it for free for the cars life time) quit working, I called to inquire. After being passed around to multiple people, I was told that "they have never heard of this offer". ... ok. No one there was of any help. Seems to me that you would want decent reputation when a new mini dealership opened up less than an hour away (camarillo). Especially with a multiple vehicle buyer! We were hesitant to take our Mini to the dealership to get our thermostat replaced. We've had not so great experiences working with "dealerships" for "repair services" but the thermostat was an issue that was under warranty so we had to pick a dealership to go to. Bob Smith Mini was referred to us by a friend that goes there so we thought let's go there to get this issue resolved. Sue Bolger, the service manager took care of our situation from A to Z. If you go to this dealership I would advise to avoid working with their Sales Associate 'Rockstar'. I was between two cars, one at the Camarillo Mini Dealership and one here at the Calabasas location. To this day, I wish I had went with the Camarillo option if only to avoid all the hassle. Rockstar was misleading, disorganized, and seemingly uninformed. I asked for both a roof rack and vinyl mats to be included in the monthly payments for my new car. As far as the vinyl mats go, Rockstar told me "Mats are already included". As far as the roof rack, he told me I needed to look up the part numbers online and give the item numbers to him. I was a little thrown off by this as I assumed this was part of his job, but this was my very first car purchase so I was sort of ignorant to the procedure. In any case, due to my lack of knowledge I ordered the wrong roof rack. When I went to pick it up Rockstar wasn't there. I was given the package and left to my own devices for installation. I was so confused that I walked into their service department and asked for help. Their service team member Josh was SUPER helpful and told me it was the wrong roof rack. On the verge of tears, I finally decided to go talk to their manager Ryan who was incredibly nice and helpful. He got me the correct roof rack and helped me install it right then. At the time I didn't bring up the vinyl mats to Ryan, another regret I have. I was a little embarrassed I didn't say something to Rockstar when he brought out my car to drive off the lot a few weeks earlier, and Ryan was so nice to help with the roof rack already so I didn't want to push my luck. Ryan mentioned how important it was for them to receive good reviews and I appreciated all his help and Josh's help so I gave them all the highest reviews in the email survey they sent me. Lastly, Rockstar sold my husband and I HARD on the extended service (7 years or 75k mi) plan we would receive with this car purchase which was the one thing Camerillo couldn't match. Just about 2 years later & we took our car to get maintenance at the Santa Monica Mini. They said something looked askew in our account and recommended we contact Calabasas. Turns out our service plan was set to expire at 36k mi !!! As they say always read the fine print. It wasn't in our contract and Rockstar was all talk. Ultimately, if I could go back with the knowledge I have now I would never give Rockstar such high reviews based on the fact that he had great team members making up for his empty promises. I am more knowledgeable of the process after becoming friends with a sales rep at Ford who has explained to me how the process should work. Anthony was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the car - definitely one of the best car sales people I've worked with! I was a loyal Bob Smith customer for ten years until My wife and I turned in her mini which I bought from Bob Smith Mini. They gave us $10,000 for the car we owed $8,273.06 so we should of got back $1,726.94 I told the salesman Christopher Conway we would like to lease a new mini. I asked for no money down 3 year lease expecting $1726.94 check to come back to us but that didn't happen. Christopher Conway took that money and took it off the car price without telling us, so I guess I put $1726.94 DOWN without knowing. I contacted Christopher Conway and all he said was this is "standard operating procedure". I have leased two BMW's from Bob Smith and bought two Mini's from Bob Smith and I am leasing my third now. I feel stupid now when I see the new Mini and have lost faith in Bob Smith for letting "A salesman" take advantage of us. My stepfather worked as a salesman for Bob Smith for years and I know Catherine Smith she and all the sales people came to our house for Christmas parties back in the day when salesman had integrity. My BMW lease is up in March 2021 and sorry to say my loyalty has died Sorry Catherine but I feel cheated. read more

I had browsed this MINI lot about a year ago, but was helped by a condescending wild hair, crazy looking, older salesman. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth about this dealership, but living in Woodland Hills, I wanted a dealer close. I cruised the lot before 10am on a Sunday as to not encounter "crazy man" again. I decided that I wanted to test drive, so I waited for the dealership to open. I saw a woman drive up in her MINI and I approached her as she was getting out and asked if I could be helped by anyone other than "crazy man". Turned out to be a great decision to wait and get help from someone else. Alexis Mata helped me, she was the woman on the street I approached. She is WONDERFUL. She let me test drive as many MINI's as I wanted from the AWD to the vehicles upstairs. There was zero pressure with Alexis, and I ended up leaving the dealership with some things to "think" about. Several days later I emailed Alexis and asked if the "deal" was still available. She spoke with her manager and got right back to me. This was particularly amazing to me because Alexis was on vacation that day at her nieces graduation. Alexis took the time to look at her work email, and to respond to me. The next day I sent her all my information so all I had to do was sign on the dotted line in finance. Alexis had my car washed and waiting for me when I was done in finance. Alexis took as much time as I need to go over every option the vehicle has and make sure I understood how to work it. She even paired my iPhone for me :-) I absolutely LOVE my 2017 MINI Clubman S. Not overly happy with them this morning..,my wife brought our mini in for scheduled service but they told her it was no longer under warranty- it has 36044 miles and warranty ran out at 36000. They would have to call corporate BMW to get authorization since computer wouldn't let them override, new appt on Tuesday. Not a great way to support a customer. read more

"The BEST internet sales experience" of our total 5 internet car purchases over past 8 years. We sent out e-mails to 11 local dealerships and Bob Smith is the only one who responded promptly, and satisfactorily. I don't write many reviews but this one could not be avoided. The entire staff at Bob Smith (I have not used their service department, yet) is down to earth and all straight shooters. As a result, we ordered out Mini Clubman S, waited 8 weeks and took delivery less than a week ago. Price and term negotiations were absolutely hassle free because 1) we had done our homework before walking in to the dealership, and 2) Bob Smith staff conducted the business with 100% professional mannerisms. I have nothing but great things to say about Bob Smith Mini. I purchased my 07 Cooper S from a non Mini or BMW dealer. Who sold me a slight lemon maybe a grapefruit? So I had troubles getting it repaired through the purchasing dealer. I took it to Bob Smith Mini and was a bit worried because I never owned a Mini before and knew they were quite pricey in repair cost. Luckily I had a warranty from the purchasing dealer. Guess what Bob Smith Mini honored that warranty. I needed about $2000 in repairs warranty covered it no problem Josh Gates my advisor was helpful and reassuring. Great customer service. The loaner car attendant was also a super nice guy and helped me out. Fast easy and quickly. Everyone knows dealers are expensive. But keep in mind at Mini all work and parts done at the dealer are warrantied as well. So have a little more peace of mind. read more

In a panic, I searched my car manuals and found the phone number for the closest dealership to where I was staying: Bob Smith Mini Cooper in Calabasas. I called and spoke with Josh, who was able to get me in right away in spite of the fact that it was close to closing time. Josh Gates and his service team were true professionals. They quickly assessed the seriousness of the situation; and realizing that I was from out of town, worked a miracle to get the necessary parts and have me back on the road within an hour. Now that we are a MINI family it was important to find the same great service as for BMW. I tried Universal MINI for my daughter's 2002 and it was a rip-off nightmare of an experience. So when my service light went on for my 2012 I decided to drive back out to Calabasas and give it a shot. So glad I did. An appointment was easy to secure. They were not backed up. Sue was amazing and did not try and upswell this Monty's special. She listened and understood. My car was ready when promised, but then again, no crazy quick turnaround promises, and the costs were as expected...ZERO...except for a much-needed alignment. Santa gave my son a car for Christmas this year. Spent the weekend test driving and visiting various dealers. Met Paul Nema over at Bobsmith BMW in Calabasas during one of the test drives. When my son finally decided what car he wanted I gave Paul and two other BMW dealers a call with the specs. Paul was always first with the best deals and easy to deal with. Also he made it easy by doing everything over phone instead of trying to get me down to dealership to do things in person.
