We've been here a few times prior to this past Sunday morning. Everything that we've ordered has always been yummy. I especially like when I ordered their mango green tea, they actually brew FRESH tea for it. This particular morning, we were craving tea/coffee WITH boba. It was a few minutes before 11 AM (the time they open) and we still saw that they were prepping to open so we went to shop at the Korean market next door. When we walked in, the girl behind the counter saw us staring at the menu, deciding on what we want. RIGHT when we walk to the register, she notifies us that there's NO BOBA!?!?!?! Boba Loca is one my favorite places to go and study. Not only are the drinks good at a reasonable price, but the cafe is very big so there is rarely a time when I don't have room study. The cafe is very big with a lot of space and not only does it price good drinks but they also offer chips, candy, popcorn chicken and more!! boba loca is a hotspot where many students come to study with large groups. they have a large variety of drinks from milk teas to slushies, along with kind service. it may be loud at most times, but it is a great place for studying/hanging out. read more

The only thing worth going here for would probably be their fruit shaved ice. For about $9 you can get a large shaved ice that would feed about 7 people. Other than the shaved ice there really isn't anything else that'll have you saying "Let's go to Boba Loca to...??" YEAH~ read more

First time I came, they gave me the wrong flavor; ordered milk tea but left with something that was tinted green and tasted like melons. So I went back and they basically said I was trippin' and that milk tea is supposed to look like that. Well, months later a friend and I were hanging around the area and we went here again. I ordered the chocolate frappe, which is clearly on the menu because that's how i got the idea of ordering it, and the cashier said that they don't make that. I've been coming here to study because It's a Grind on South and Moody has been too crowded. -It's very large and has plenty of tables. There's always a place to study. -free wifi, although the wifi is very spotty. It won't work for the first hour I'm there, but when laptop users start to leave it gets better. -a few plugs around the store, mostly in the front of the store and the side wall. a very young crowd comes here. they seem pretty nice the boba is yummy. i like it a bit firm and sweet but not too sweet the green tea muragami? I was craving boba and needed a quick pick me up. I found this Boba Loca location and it was right next to the Korean supermarket. Interior is a bit shady looking. It looks rundown and not as bright and cheery as some boba locations. I'm guessing that's the ''appeal''. The drink options are fairly typical. Good place to just go hang out and grab a quick dessert. A lot of parking is available and there is enough room inside to sit with all your friends. Unlike the many other boba loca's where it is so cramed, that it feels like you can hear everyone's conversation. However, it is not a good environment to go do your homework and study in. The wireless can get very slow if a lot of people are using it and there is usually a lot of people there so it can get kind of loud. But, some people like that kind of study environment so I guess it's really up to you. I mean it is still free wifi, with plenty of places to sit. Came here for some boba and ive had better. Ordered the strawberry slush and it was good at first. Until about half way...my strawberry slush tasted like slush with pink coloring. No flavor at all! *Drinks: 8/10 -Just the usual type of boba drinks. *Vibe: 7/10 -I come here a lot to study but sometimes these kids are SO LOUD when they supposedly come here to study too. *Workers: 8/10 -I would give 10/10 because the younger workers are KIND to me and have been kind to me since day 1, but the manager (she's an older asian woman) is rude. When I started to come here to study every Friday, she told me "you have to buy a drink, but the boba isnt ready until 11:30." I fine with that, UNTIL, my second visit she told me I have to buy a drink and I said "I am but doesn't the boba--" and then she cut me off as I was speaking saying "Yeah, okay." And walked away. After spending so much time trying to study in a crowded Starbucks, fighting for tables, and trying to find outlets for my laptop, it was time to find a new location. This spot was recommended to me by my sister who had been here on many occasion, and what can I say, the place is not too shabby. It has quite a few large tables that can be very accommodating to study groups, and the drinks are always good. With not many people coming here to study, they have a very quick turn around, with most people coming in to buy a drink and leaving. They also have free wifi which is almost a necessity. A couple of cons on this locale: 1) There aren't many outlets so if you bring a laptop it's best to bring it fully charged. 2) They tend to play their music on a loop, a very short loop. If you're lucky they'll play a mix of songs, but the first time I was here they were playing the same song over and over again. Luckily they decided to change the song after 2 hours, and then that song was on repeat for another 2 hours. So bring some headphones or earplugs. Over all this place is good, and would highly recommend it for a study spot, or even just to stop by for a delicious drink. read more

I love how Boba Loca has a variety of drinks and my top 3 types of drinks in Boba Loca are the smoothies, shakes, and frapps. The smoothies are very refreshing and fruity and the shakes and frapps are the drinks that I usually get when I'm studying since they're good drinks and they help me not to stress as much and helps me to study. If I had to choose a favorite drink, I would say my favorite drink is the yogurt frapp. I don't think there is a drink like the yogurt frapp in other boba places. Surprisingly, the yogurt frapp tastes like there actual sweet yogurt and I really recommend all people to try the yogurt frapp :) Some other drinks that I get from Boba Loca is the mango smoothie, strawberry shake, and thai tea. Those are the drinks that I usually get when I go to boba loca since they're really good and I might try some new drinks since there are so many different drinks that I haven't tried! Their service is zero. They have no respect to the kids. My kids went to buy drinks while I was shopping at the market next door... I gave them my stamp cards...one fully stamped and one some stamped...they were discontinuing the cards but whoever has a card, they could still use it....but the girl who worked there took an advantage of my kids and took the card and discounted $0.20.... Instead of explaining about the card, all she said was "we're discontinuing the card so you'll get 30% off....really? This does not make sense. Also, one of my child wanted her drink with Boba and ordered with boba... So, why would that employee ask do you want it with no boba? They thought she asked if they want it with Boba since they said with boba, so they said yes. What you see is what you get. Service. I go here occasionally to get some light work done. You'll find that the front desk counter is staffed by either a middle-aged lady with an acceptable grasp of English or college kids, all who are Korean, which makes sense considering the demographic. The employees are generally pretty good about taking your order with little ado and calling out your order when it's ready. It's the usual fare as with any other boba/coffee shop. Atmosphere. Pretty chill and laid back. The employees often play music from the speakers. It's sometimes turned up to louder volumes than I'd prefer, but hell, it's a public place, so what can you do. They also have a couple of TVs that play closer to the back of the store. The seating is ample. You have a choice between couches that face each other for friends who wish to socialize and a few desks and tables. Some of the chairs are either too low or too high for the smaller tables, but that's just my opinion. The wifi is generally pretty fast. They've in the past required that I input some kind of code which was written on the wall, but I'm recently finding that the code hasn't changed as it allows me to log in automatically. I'm going to guess the old policy was instituted to discourage idiots outside who would leech wifi without buying anything. It's definitely gotten a lot faster than it was a year ago. Drinks I've only bought a few of the bobas and coffees, so my base of experience is going to be limited. However I will say that they know how to make a good milk tea and that their coffee is alright. The regular milk tea starts at $3 as with most of their other drinks. Final thoughts Do I recommend this place? I certainly wouldn't drive 15+ minutes just to get here, but if you're like me and you live in the area, then sure, it's not a bad place for loners looking for a place to get some light work done. But if you need a quiet place to study, I'd recommend other places. It's probably the most suitable for meeting with friends and watching the world cup with them. read more

My visits here are either a hit or miss for me. Most of the misses are when I'm ordering drinks, which can either be too chunky (powder not dissolved thoroughly) or too watery (maybe because of the ice?). But I would definitely recommend their shaved ice. My family of four was able to be content with just one regular size bingsoo, granted two of the four didn't really want to eat. But still, the portion for the price is relatively cheap while tasting great. read more

I came here on a wednesday night and I ordered the fruit shaved ice. I always enjoyed their fruit shaved ice in the past. However, that night the shaved ice was terrible. There was WAY too much syrup on the bottom half of the shaved ice, and I just could not finish it. Maybe I just came on a bad day to get the shaved ice, but I'm not planning to order it again.
