Just discovered this place after dinner at Pho house. They have the best mocha coffee boba I have tasted so far. This place is kind of a hub for korean kids and elderly alike to hang out.... just thinking how weird that is. IN a nutshell: 1) Great place to study because it has HUGE tables. BUT they play really loud hip hop music all the time which makes it hard to "Study hardcore" 2) The jasmine milk tea , etc. isn't all that great. It tastes watered down. Bobaloca!!! It's always weird to yelp different boba chains. Typically, you know what to get before you even walk in. I got the peach slush here! It was really good...I just decided to try something new. It doesn't taste like a japanese white peach (like at cha for tea), it was the yellow peach, but it was still really good. Ok. The only reason I'm giving 5 stars is because of their SHAVED ICE. You know when you crave something and you go there and it's not quite the taste you are looking for? Well, I've been to many places for shaved ice. Although it's not the hardest thing to make, it's the small things that make all the differences in the world. For a large shaved ice (I always get the one with red beans with fruits), they put green jellies, watermelons, grapes, bananas, red beans, vanilla ice cream and other fruits i can't really remember now. The customer service is shitty from the workers who've been there the longest but other than that. They have many tables and couches so you can do group activities here easily. There aren't many plugs so you gotta find it fast, especially during the school year. Don't expect boba in the mornings. They don't have the best boba but for their prices it, it's Nice. I'd give zero stars if I could. Most disgusting boba I've had anywhere. The boba itself tasted like they had been sitting in water for days before being poured into your cup (no joke). The teas also tasted either old or powdery or both. I didn't know milk tea could be done this badly. Besides the awful drinks were the tacky $1 trinkets being sold inside the shop and pictures of random foods being sold that I've never seen at any other bobaloca. Love this place! It's the perfect study spot. They have tons of tables and chairs (not a ton of outlets though) but you can sit in the back on a couch or towards the front at tables by the window. This place has mediocre boba. It's not good, but not bad either. Their blended drinks are better than the teas in my opinion. The reason why the stars are high is because of the service!! There was one girl who spent about 5 minutes explaining each drink to me, and she didn't even scoff or seem annoyed. In fact, she seemed happy to do her job! That's the service I like to see. This Bobaloca place has an exceptional misugaru drink. Most of the boba shops I visit don't have this, so it's truly a rarity to find this. They also have a green tea misugaru drink, which is an amazing blend of misugaru and green tea flavoring. WORST BOBA LOCA EVER!!! I have put up with their antics many times but enough is enough! The 100 times I have been told "I'm sorry we're out of boba" are BS! They clearly know their not making enough boba to last until they close so why do they not make more! Idiots I tell you. Today I decided to go to Boba Loca with my brother after playing hours of tennis. We left at 11:30 instead of the usual 10:30 but it should've have mattered because this location is SUPPOSED to close at midnight. Or so we thought! As we entered the location the door would not open clearly locked from the inside. A young adult Chinese male brooming the floor proceeds to tell us that boba loca is CLOSED!! Closed my foot!! It was 11:30? 30 minutes before closing time!! Completely unacceptable! Even if we arrived at 11:59 we should've been allowed to order boba loca instead of being shunned and kicked out!! To make matters worse, there were many people inside as well. I'm telling you, this man clearly was too lazy to make any more drinks so he probably just locked the door. This is a popular boba place where you can chat/study with your friends. My previous post explained my dissatisfaction aboust the music and tapioca pealrs. Howver, recently the owner has made adjustments to the music. The volume has decreased and I believe it allows people to hear each other speak and creates a good study environment. The tapioca pearls sometimes does taste like plastic/plain similar to the past times I've ordered boba here. The only thing that I find weird is the pricing. The lady owner charged me $4.10 for a large tapioca milk tea for "here". I paid her with a 5 dollar bill, but she pleaded that I ask my friends/people for a dime. I really appreciated how she handled the situation properly, but if the owner doesn't want to give large amounts of change because she's low on change or ran out of change; she should change the pricing to a flat four dollars. Some people don't carry dimes and change. Also the owner here needs to attend to her customers first before doing anything else. (I was the only customer there in the morning) Sometimes when I go here for a quick drink, I have to wait around 3 minutes. However the delivery of the drinks is fast cause some drinks are just premade. read more

Boba Loca is a pretty good place to study considering the fact that they have WiFi, plenty of tables, adequate amount of outlets, and they close at midnight. However their drinks are disappointing. And I'm not a picky drinker! I think most are artificially flavored... one time o ordered a matcha latte and it was so bitter and had a weird irony taste. I was kind of scared of it. I went up to the guy behind the register and told him that there was a weird taste to my drink. He responded by asking, "How is a matcha latte supposed to taste"? He ended up letting me change my drink, which was mediocre but at least drinkable. Service is pretty lacking. It seems like they hire mostly young high school boys. Ive noticed that their friends like to hang out in the cafe as well. This place is pretty good for cold weather days because it's always warm all throughout the year. Came here around 11pm and the whole plaza was dark and had a sketchy vibe. There were a bunch of teenagers or college students at the store, some were quiet but a couple were obnoxious. Lol. Seemed like they were friends with the employees or something. The drink I got was good (hot coconut milk tea) but it would have been a better experience if the business enforced better behavior on the customers. life is hard as a student, its too distracting to do homework at home, parking is scarce on campus to do homework at the library, and i dont like it when its dead silent-- a little background noise never hurt anybody. so, i come to boba loca to do my homework. there are HUGE tables that allow you to spread out your computer, papers, pens, etc-- which is a gold star in my book since i absolutely detest doing homework at starbucks because of those little "barely enough room to hold my latte" tables. i also like the atmosphere! the cafe is filled with furniture that doesnt match, flowers on the tables, random artwork on the walls and has plenty of lighting! makes me feel at home, or at least at an ikea or something. the free internet isnt too shabby either, it never drops or anything. im all down for free wifi with no interruptions or time limits! now onto the drinks-- amazing! i grew up in the southbay where every little asian plaza had at least two boba places-- meaning i know my boba and can sometimes be a hard critic, but i give this boba loca five stars! the drinks always taste really good, never watered-down or anything and the boba is sweet and chewy! my favorite would have to be the melon slush or the taro milk tea! ohh did i mention they stay open late (usually till 11pm) and that they serve brick toast and shaved ice? it keeps on getting better huh? if you are in the area, give this place a try!-- you will probably find me here finishing my homework in my pjays. lol. oh IM fancy huh? read more

i initially left a 2-star review because i had to deal with a rude and lazy employee, there was no skim milk or soy milk substitutes, the drinks were way too sweet, it was really hot inside, and there were loud ajumas everywhere! then i left i 4 star review update since things started getting better. they got a/c, they got soy milk, and hired nicer employees. that tall girl is really great. i don't know her name though. i went back over the weekend and there she was again! the girl that was really rude the first time i went in. i never forgot her face. turns out her name is RACHEL. she is one of the major reasons why i am leaving a one star review, and also the reason i sometimes hate this place. first of all, she doesn't smile. at all. she looks miserable like she doesn't want to be there. when you ask her to make a drink not as sweet (by adding less sweetener) she says "i'll try." what the hell do you mean you'll try?? either tell me you can do it, and take my money, or tell me no, so i can leave. she is consistently rude and lazy. she just walks away from you after you order without saying anything. i went back in yesterday to get the name of the girl (rachel) so i can leave this review. we walk in and there are customers waiting to order, but no one at the counter. a good 5 minutes go by and still nobody. what is going on? i used my phone to call the place, and as soon as they hear the phone ring, they come up to the front. the two employees (eric and rachel) were hanging out in the back room. doing what? i don't know, but it got me really irritated. anyway, eric took my drink order, and when i said "less sweetener" he warned me that it might not taste as good, but i know how i like it, and i said that it would be fine. he's alot nicer than that bratty girl that works there. read more

This is a common place my friends and I go to chill or just have boba and I decided to review this place just now. My favorite boba drink here is the taro slush boba! Its pretty sweet for taro but I mean it in a good way. Its creamy not watery, which I had expected it to be since it was a slush. The boba is chewy, not hard like other boba places. I used to be a regular here but not anymore. The owner here is rude & so was the guy that was working on this particular night. Everyone else that works here is really sweet and always super helpful. I sat down at my normal table and was finishing up a movie on my phone before starting my studying so I hadn't yet bought a drink. The owner told the boy to tell me i need to buy a drink or leave. I had every intention of buying one as i always do, sometimes i buy 3 or 4 because i stay so long. But this is definitely my last time here. This place is one of the better boba shops in the area. Their drinks are decent (except their milk tea, it's amazing) and most of their workers are really chill. The interior is deceptively big, and makes a very nice spot to study or even just to chill. I feel like some of the employees are too young to be working (one of the guys looks like he just hit puberty) but they all make great drinks. Try the shaved ice! They sometimes don't make it past 10 (because the ice machine has to be turned off at that time) but it's really good and some of the workers are REALLY generous with the portions. Don't go during the day. The old lady who runs the shop gets a bit bitchy and starts implementing random mark ups and sales taxes that they don't apply at nights. Worse is that, if she's the only one that is there, she'll also take her sweet time. Took about 15 minutes before she made a drink because she wanted to talk on the phone to her friend. If her kid is there working the store, she'll camp out a whole table while reading a newspaper only to come by and bitch out the customers if they do something she doesn't like such as "being too loud" or for using the restroom too much. What? The only reason it's not a 2 star is because the kids who run the store are pretty cool with whatever.
