The drink I ordered was actually solid. On a nice sunny day, it quenched my thirst and did a good job of it. It tasted good, so I can't knock them on that. For what you got, arguably a bit overpriced. Ive gotten better values in terms of volume per dollar paid elsewhere. It did take quite a while though. It got busy, and it felt that they couldn't quite keep up with the demand. We waited for a while before we were finally able to pick up our order. I'm not knocking them down in the review for it, but it is something to be wary of if you're in a rush. If I had to get going or was in a time crunch next time at Arden Fair, I'd pass on this place unless there was hardly anyone else at the time here. read more

Stopped by Boba Loca for a few treats, as my boys and I were in the Mall looking for attire for promotions. I haven't been to the mall in some time, and last time I was in this area Jamba Jiuce had been in this spot. The artistic rendition of Marilyn Monroe holding a Boba Loca drink, is a nice art piece. I came to Arden Mall to get my iPhone fixed. Arrived too early for my appointment so I decided to head to Sips & Scoops but they closed for the night. Next door is Boba Loca which serves Korean style hotdogs! Got myself a potato & rice flour half cheese half beef hotdog which was large and delicious. I also ordered a regular size pistachio soy milk tea with pudding. Pistachio flavor was strong and sweet. There was too much ice and I didn't like they charge extra for soy. But the price overall wasn't bad. Wait time was fine despite being busy and my drink came out quicker than hotdog. Service was polite enough. Drinks are expensive and no good. My jasmine green milk tea tasted extremely watered down; more watery tasting that tea or milky tasting and I asked for less ice too. Boba is just ok. Mango smoothie was ok, def better than my mt but a lil weird tasting. Sizes are so small and wait is long on weekends. Only thing I liked was the candy fruit. I came to this Boba Loca in Arden Faire Mall in Sacramento on 03/05/22. I needed a tea pick me up and was excited they had a tea spot here. It was about 30 minutes before closing and this place was so packed! It appears they do mobile ordering or had it on hold as it wasn't clear. They do have an extensive menu but they were out of everything I wanted . I wanted a Guava Green Tea which they were out and informed me they can do black tea. Of course I opted for black tea better than nothing. I honestly prefer green tea due to its healthy properties vs black tea. My drink took awhile to be done and I think it was sitting for a while but who knows there was a lot going on. The staff was friendly really didn't have much interactions with them but happy they did recommend black tea instead of nothing else so great customer service in my opinion! My Guava Lemon Black Tea was delicious but too sweet for my liking. I did let it sit for a while so the ice can melt and make it less powerful sweet. It took me a few hours to finish to be honest due to how sweet it was . I do not like really sweet drinks at all. I like a barely sweet like BARELY tasting any sweet but I prefer tart. Next time I will let them know if I can adjust the sweet level. Overall, I would come back again and definitely ask if possible for less sweeter or none at all! Very popular place about 30 people I observed either waiting for drinks, ordering , or sipping on their drinks. The wait is dumb long for regular traffic anywhere else. Not sure if they're mixing up orders in the back or just unsure where to start.

Same menu as another boba place that is in Rancho Cordova. They taste about the same but the experience is much different. First red flag is the hiring sign and then the sign right next to the cashier that says "longer wait times on the weekends". So clearly they've had their fair share of being either short staffed (or more likely working slow) and being called out for it. In this case, it was working slow. The feel from the kids is like they don't really know what they're doing. They also just serve orders randomly so organization is off. Feel bad for them if they need help but it's different if there's just a complete lack of pride in their job. Coming from someone who's worked their faire share of not so fun retail jobs. Anyways don't waste 15 minutes waiting for a simple milk tea with boba. read more

I'm new to Boba teas and luv them! I've had less than a handful since last year. For mother's day decided to treat myself to a brown signature milk tea . Young woman at register is unfriendly, looks like she really doesn't like her job. I was confused why I received tiger milk tea when I ordered brown sugar team . Her response "it's the same". Meh, this place was just okay to me. I ordered a regular size taro milk tea with boba, and it was wayyy too sweet for me! I like sweet stuff but this was overboard. When I ordered, they didn't ask me what level of sweetness I'd like, so maybe that was part of the issue. I usually order 50% sweet level if they ask. They also didn't put much ice in my drink which made it kind of room temperature. I wasn't able to drink even half of my drink. There was a decent wait, but they were kind of busy. I will probably try Boba Loca again the next time I'm at the mall to see if my drinks tastes better after I request 50% sweetness. read more

So I use to LOVE this place. It was my favorite spot when they first opened and their Thai tea smoothie is my absolute favorite. But sadly this place has gone done a bit in quality. The boba my past few times had been over cooked and mushy.. and a couple of times I feel like either my drink wasn't blended enough with chunks of ice or over blended and liquid. I love the staff here because they are always kind and on top of their game to handle all the large crowds, but I think the quality of the end product has been lost in translation with new staff or new hires. Located in Arden Fair Mall Drinks were below average. I always love trying a boba spot that I've never tried before. We ordered the almond milk tea with boba as well as a thai tea with boba. It seemed to be busy since a lot of people were waiting on their orders. The cashier was super friendly and let me know about their alternative milk options. However, the drinks were not so great. The almond milk tea tasted super watered down, kinda like when all the ice melts in your boba when you're 2/3 into finishing the drink. It was similar to drinking water with a hint of almond which was unfortunate because almond milk tea is one of the only milk tea flavors I order. The thai tea was average, had a stronger flavor than the almond milk tea but wasn't anything that I would rave about. I probably wouldn't come here again. Im new to the boba family. And Have had some different boba drinks. This one is good. I had a strawberry kiwi with strawberry jelly popping balls. It was a nice consistency for me . It was done pretty fast with a big crowd at the mall. I enjoyed getting it and drinking it through the mall. Make sure you check them out! Only thing I didnt like was the way they do orders on the screen and you have to wait for a person to come out and take your order. Other people dont move as quickly as others. My daughter bought a boba here on Saturday and got food poisoning. After violently throwing it up she was in the bed for tge remainder of the day. No, this was not a stomach bug as she was fine before having the boba and dis not have any sign of illness. But less than 30 minutes after digesting their boba drink, she got stomach cramps and violently threw up the contents while walking down the street. I believe their kitchen is riddled with bacteria and there's definitely some improper food handling going on with this place. I believe the Department of Health needs to visit this place as soon as possible. read more

It was a hot day inside of the mall and we were in need of something cold to drink. When we saw Boba Loca I was excited to try one of their slush's. I got a strawberry lemon slush with guava and tapioca boba, as well as an order of the garlic parmesan fries. It cost $13.67 before tip. There were only two people in front of us and so we stood at the little desk thing right in front of the store counter while we waited. A dozen more people came in to place their order during the time I was waiting for my order. I got my fries a good 5 minutes after ordering which wasn't a bad wait time for food. I was disappointed with the fries since they were just the standard store bought fries with a tiny bit of minced garlic from the jar and a tiny bit of parmesan. Now I understand that they aren't a place that specializes in fries so it was my bad for ordering them, but I still think they should give you more than a teaspoon of garlic/parmesan on top. We ate the fries while I was waiting on my drink. The couple who ordered after me got all of their drinks before me, then the person after that, and the person after that. I waited for 15 minutes after the time I placed my order before going up and asking them about my drink. The lady took my receipt from me and called someone from the back. They stared confused at my receipt and said that they'd make me a new one. 4 minutes later the person from the back appeared with my slush. About 1/3 of it was melted which tends to happen when they don't blend it with enough ice. I thanked them and was excited to try it even after all that. It tasted like they forgot to add guava into it, and the boba wasn't very good either. It's a shame I wasted all that time. Overall, wasn't a great experience. Staff was friendly though. read more

We were surprised that the popcorn chicken would be ready in less than 10 minutes but weren't questioning it. However, it did taste a bit like calamari. Maybe they share the same oil when frying? The chicken pieces were also really tiny. At times I felt like I was just eating fried batter. We also ordered some boba drinks. I had their strawberry green tea, which was tasty. It wasn't overly sweet and very refreshing. The cup sizes are smaller compared to other boba spots, but their prices don't reflect the size. It's still about $3.89 for a regular drink w/o toppings. Prices are probably higher because it's in the mall, so something to consider. I'm not sure if I'll return, because honestly I could have a much more quality snack next door at wretzel pretzel. read more

I've been on a fish cone kick ever since I had SomiSomi, so I was excited to see this trend make its way to Sacramento. Unfortunately, I was let down. My boyfriend and I ordered a chocolate and ube swirl kosomi ($5.95) with Nutella filling. The fish cones were already made, sitting out and not fresh. We did not ask for it in a cup, but it came that way. The flavors were not swirled together. The soft serve was on top/covering the fish. The ube flavor was very mild. The picture on the menu was very cute, but what we received was the complete opposite. We were catfished by the fish cone! Lol. Worth noting - the worker making our dessert was wearing white CLOTH gloves. This was very strange to us and seems unhygienic. Shouldn't they wear disposable vinyl gloves? They have the yummy taiyaki soft serve cones so hopefully that will draw in some people to take photos for the 'gram! They are in soft opening this week but will fully be opened next week. The two workers were both very friendly. We ordered a pistachio matcha milk tea since that's a pretty unique flavor! It was yummy. Also their boba was super fresh too. I had no idea this gem existed. It's nestled within the Arden fair mall, making it perfect to grab your boba tea while shopping during a hot summer day. They have a huge menu and I opted for a Jasmine Matcha Milk Tea, one of my new favorites since discovering it at another boba shop in Elk Grove. This place is a joke. I've never seen service so slow before and drinks that are overpriced. I ordered a strawberry yogurt and it actually tasted good, tart, creamy and sweet (extra star). Service however is a mess. Theres a sign that said the wait is 10-15 minutes on the weekends, but I ended up waiting 25 minutes for mine. If I hadn't realized that the people in behind me were getting their drinks, I would have to wait longer. Also the employees seemed like they hated their jobs and each other.
