First time at this boba spot. We were greeted by Selena and she was ready to take our ready right away. They also have the self order kiosk which is pretty easy to use and customize drinks. Inside atmosphere is a nice vibe and very clean. The tables and chairs look sterilized. There is plenty of seating inside asking with decorations to admire. SO EXCITED FOR THIS NEW BOBA PLACE!! They are conveniently next to Dumpling Hours and across the street from World Famous Hot Boys. We tried their creme brûlée and strawberry milk drink. Didn't adjust the sweetness or milk just to gauge their flavor profile for our first time here. And it was absolutely delicious and refreshing! We sat inside for a while just to enjoy our drinks and the staff was really friendly. We were able to get to know them and found out that this is their first business -- SO SHOW THIS PLACE SOME LOVE! They even gave us some samples to try because they received a review that said their brown sugar boba drink wasn't flavorful enough. We tried different samples and they listened to us. I believe that the owner was the one who provided excellent service that I witnessed for an unhoused man. She could have kicked him out for being unhoused, and had a lot of belongings with him. I watched the owner as she did everything to serve the man and provide excellent service and did not ask him to leave. I was craving boba and had my husband stop by this new boba shop on our way home! I love trying new spots and this one popped up with good reviews! We ordered a Mango with yogurt cream foam with boba and a Strawberry with yogurt cream foam with boba. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of this drink. I wish we ordered two different drinks to try. I think there was too much ice blended in where our drinks came out more icy/watered down. It tasted more like a watered down slush. Boba was good and they seemed to give a generous amount and I liked the taste of the yogurt cream foam. Sadly, based on my experience so far, I will rate it as average. Nothing amazing so far that stood out to me compared to other boba spots in the area. Other things to note: The space is very cute and nicely decorated! I continue to be impressed by Boba Studio. My go-tos are still the taro ube milk drink with honey boba & the brown sugar milk with boba and cream cheese foam. I must've ordered these drink at least a dozen times already, and they are always consistently fresh & delicious. They now offer several items in a "hot drink" version, which is fabulous for the cold weather. The taro ube tastes great both hot or cold. I've gotten to the point where I can never order any of the above from any other boba place because I've become so familiar with the taste and texture of fresh, quality ingredients that I can easily tell when the boba pearls have been sitting around for too long or if the drink is made from a powder. Both are often the case for a lot of boba places. I'm not in the downtown WC area often but every single time I am, I stop here without fail. Parking used to be a hassle but now there are 3 parking spots right in front of the store that are reserved for pickup only, so it's easy to get parking now. The staff is always nice, the shop very cute, and the atmosphere soothing. On my last visit, they failed to add the boba to one of my drinks. I didn't realize this until I got home and was bummed because their tender boba pearls are one of the highlights for me. In the receipt that was emailed to me, it asked something like "how did we do?" It's one of those automated things, so when I responded that one of my drinks was missing the boba, I didn't really expect anything to come of it. Lo and behold, very shortly, I got a personalized message from Boba Studio apologizing for the oversight and going above and beyond to rectify the situation. I totally wasn't expecting that. My mom and I were in the area and wanted boba. Yelp shows me a 4.8-starred shop that I've never heard of, just 10 min away. It's downtown Walnut Creek so it's a bit hard to find convenient parking, but it's worth the stop. As of this review, they've only been open for 3 months. Cute, modern atmosphere. The line was short, and we could either order at the iPad or from the incredibly kind lady at the counter. I ordered the Assam with cheese foam (100% sweet) and my mom got the Taro Ube latte (50% sweet). We also got the mixed nut tuiles (essentially little dalgona cookies with almonds and seeds). Both drinks were very good. Chewy boba, could be ever so slightly less chewy, but who cares. The cheese foam was delicious, and so was the real taro purée (I'm not sure if there was real ube, I didn't ask). The tuiles were actually very good, and they offer an assortment of other small desserts. While waiting for our drinks, the same lady offered me and my mom these little matcha sugar cookies (she first asked if I liked matcha or strawberry). I don't know what they're called--neither did she--but they were slightly sweet and rich in matcha flavor. I hope they sell them soon. Personally, the customer service was what made our visit exceptional. It felt very "sincere" with the clean decor and lovely hospitality. Boba is more than just the drinks--it's also the shop. As an avid boba lover since boba was even a thang, I would go to Quickly's first before going to this establishment. I came here with my husband and two kids, three of us ordered a boba drink & all three of us were disappointed. Boba Studio offers a pretty wide variety of drinks (both lighter fruit teas and milk teas) and probably has something on the menu for anyone. But the price wasn't cheap and they've increased their prices at least $0.30 across the board lately, and you'll be lucky to get a drink for $7 (usually closer to $8). Drinks are still excellent albeit much slower to come out compared to before (see below). When my wife and I first started going, the service was great and super friendly, and there was usually someone at the front to answer questions. But with the weather warming up (and more orders coming in), it doesn't seem like they're properly staffed and the front is hardly manned at this point. Would love to know why the prices have increased lately (I understand if costs are up, or they're hiring new people, etc.) but my wife tried to ask this question on Yelp and it was "reported by the Community." read more

I think this is a matter of what you like in a milk tea, I prefer a very strong tea flavor which I think most people don't seek out. The tea flavor here was good, but very weak to me. We ordered plain tea + cream top. The cream top is not bad, it tastes like melted vanilla ice cream. I prefer a salted cream top. We didn't get toppings, so can't speak to those. They have an ordering pad and also take orders at the counter. Drinks come out fast. The interior isn't my favorite, but that's a matter of taste--it's clean and that's good enough. I visited this place on a whim on a quiet Thursday with my boyfriend and his family while exploring the plaza. Came in with no expectations but as soon as we ordered, my matcha latte with brown sugar pearls was already prepared in about 5 minutes. The pearls surprised me because of how soft they were. Compared to some boba places where their pearls are chewier, the pearls here are not at all chewy which I find pleasant for my taste. The matcha latte with brown sugar pearls tasted pretty good with 50% sugar and oat milk. Could actually taste the matcha in this drink compared to other places and I'd say it's nicely balanced with the sugar and milk. My boyfriend ordered a hot Assam milk tea with 50% sugar and boba too and I'd recommend getting at least 80% sugar or just 100% because it was quite bitter for our liking. Just left this place and it's such a cute little spot. The customer service is A++ and the boba was delicious. They gave an option for honey vs sugar which I thought was nice for anyone staying away from too much sugar. So, I got the mango milk bar tea with boba and totally forgot to ask if they could do a dairy alternative. The lady at the register was just amazingly nice and they were able to switch it out for me. I've tried: T4: super watered down Bobaloca: is this a front for laundering I wonder? a slightly sad place... Bober Tea (both Martinez and WC) -- Even though Martinez is in between Walmart and Home Depot, I do love the total pink flower walls and ceilings -- you should go just for that. Taro boba is a bit too much like an ice cream milk shake, which is good if you like more creamy smooth drinks. I prefer being able to taste the actual taro as a natural root vegetable. Mochi Nut: not able to adjust sweetness which is a big no-no as it's way too sweet for me And then a whole host of other places that were probably ok but didn't have any organic options: Chalogy, Mr. Green Bubble, I-Tea, Uji Time (cool fish cones for ube ice cream though), 88 C (even though they are mostly a bakery, their blended taro is not bad), Devil & Angel, etc. Gotta say, Boba Studio is the best! read more

I never write reviews but this place was fantastic. We got lucky enough to get parking right in front. I ordered the crushed lemon blizzard and my boyfriend got the tropical fruit tea. I don't like overly sweet drinks but the cashier helped me choose the perfect sweetness level to offset the freshly squeezed lemon juice. My boyfriend also really enjoyed his drink.
