Lychee Crema (Milk Foam) with Oolong tea
Carolen M.

I wanted to give Bobafinitea another chance. I focused on a fairly standard drink and also with boba to see if there were improvements since the first time I had boba here. In short, boba texture and cook were good, but very sweet. The drink was a bit watered down, but had a strong tea flavor (for the classic milk tea) though not true with the Oreo milk tea. Wish that no sugar and ice levels were a standard option when ordering. Perhaps I'll stick to the fruit creamas for next retry. A little pricey, but an okay option for boba. L O C A T I O N Bobafinitea is located inside Mochiholic inside the plaza off of Rosewood Dr and Santa Rita Rd. It's in the same plaza as Total Wine and 99 Ranch. The parking lot it shared by all the other establishments, but I've always found parking immediately in front of the shop. I N S I D E There are two self ordering kiosks to the right where you can choose to get drinks and/or donuts. There were several seats for waiting to pick up your order. They have their own rewards system on the kiosks. I don't recall which it was but it was not Five Stars. It does remember how many orders you've gotten. M E N U The menu has special seasonal items as well as "combos" with mochi donuts and drinks. They have milk teas, matcha drinks, fruit creama drinks, butterfly pea lemonade, smoothies, and coffee. I don't understand why there's no normal tea with creama drinks. I typically like just a standard oolong with creama when I don't want toppings. I'm sure it's possible but I'm sure you pay the normal price. Speaking of pricing. It's a little higher than regular spots. Starts roughly at $6 with no toppings to $7 for the seasonal drinks which sometimes already have toppings in them already. Toppings are $0.50 for relatively everything and $0.75 for crystal boba. The menu feels pretty straight forward but again the struggle bus happens when using the self ordering kiosks. Today I struggled a bit with the software as I did a search initially for "oreo" and when trying to order other drinks, you would think you can just click on other areas of the menu but nope, you have to clear out that search term before anything else pops up. I thought I was stuck and nothing was responding for a little while. But luckily clicking on the search term got me to the "clearing" of the term. There are sometimes options and no option for drinks. When placing the order for the Oreo milk tea, the first option to select was just sugar level. I didn't see an option to pick black, green or oolong, so I ended up entering it in the special instructions. I didn't like that there wasn't an option for ice level or "no" sugar level. I forgot to add instructions about ice, but I did say "no sugar if possible" for both my drinks. I generally don't like ice in my drinks as it waters it down and I like to control my ice if I do need to add it. Also I typically don't get sugar in my drinks especially if I get a topping as the toppings typically are sweet. I got a normal oolong milk tea, no sugar with ice and boba. With the ice the drink did feel more watered down which I was afraid of. The boba actually had a nice texture and chew but unfortunately, very very sweet. I'm really really glad I asked for no additional sugar or more so I'm glad the employee was able to do no sugar in my drink. Otherwise, the oolong was very present and had a lovely flavor. I had a sip of the Oreo Milk Tea (Oolong base, no sugar, with ice and boba). It was definitely a dessert in a cup. The Oreo felt like it was crushed Oreos including the cream. But that was pretty much the only thing you could taste and it clashed with the sweetener used in the boba. I can't imagine how this drink would be with additional sugar and REALLY glad there was no additional sugar added because it was definitely a sugar rush with my one sip. You couldn't really taste the tea base which was a shame and the main flavor profile you taste is the Oreo. Great if you really love Oreo and not wanting to taste the tea. I would highly suggest getting no sugar unless you do have a super sweet tooth (which I do not). S E R V I C E The person who made my drinks was very nice and also let me know he didn't add additional sugar as I requested which I really appreciated. I was the only one there and it took not too long to get my drinks. Everything was nicely packaged in a bag fit for two drinks. It was cute! O V E R A L L For a classic milk tea with boba, $6.50 is steep. I probably won't be back for a standard drink. I would probably also stay away from the boba topping as it was definitely too sweet for me. I wish there was a "no sugar" option outside of entering text as well as ice level options on all drinks. Perhaps their other drinks are a little more worth it. But if you do have a sweet tooth for drinks and also like mochi donuts, this would be your go to place. I at least won't completely rule this place out for my boba Tuesdays. It may just be more creama Tuesdays :)

Ube (NEW) Creme Brulee Ube Smoothie with BOBA. $7.00. Was so good.

Fast, friendly service. Crème brûlée ube smoothie ($7.00) that comes with BOBA. No need to add boba on to it. I asked for less sweet and it was sooo good. 5 stars. This is located where WestTea used to be a couple years ago. Will drop by here whenever I'm in the area.

I love the donuts here more than the boba drinks. The mochi donuts have a different texture and variety of frosting. Unhealthy, but wouldn't hurt once in a while. The service is fast.

I consider myself a bit of a boba snob, so I had my expectations set fairly low for this place as it just came up on Yelp as my closest boba store when visiting the area on New Year's day. I was PLEASANTly surprised! (get it? because it's located in Pleasanton?) I got a lychee black tea, 25% sweet, no ice, with boba. They followed my order to a tee (haha get it? because it's tea??? okay I will stop) My drink was so delicious and the boba was cooked well: soft and chewy! They don't have a category for adjusting the ice level so you have to manually write that in as a special note for your drink. I had never seen a boba lid like theirs, it comes with a little plug that caps your drink where your straw would go, and then there's even a little indentation on the lid to put the plug to hold it in place while you're enjoying your drink. Fascinating! The price point of these drinks may seem high, but tbh nowadays, top tier quality boba is all in the $6-7 dollar per drink range. Gone are the days of good boba at $3 a cup. As a self-proclaimed boba connoisseur, Bobafinitea has met my expectations for their quality boba and I would highly recommend it! I would love to come back if I'm in the area again.

Nice little spot, swing by after brunch with the gals on Saturday and grab some desserts. Might not be good for a large group, but it was four of us so it's comfy. Take advantage of their combos, good deals for boba and mochi donuts. I have to say their donuts is so yummy and very nice decor , like the minion one . Definitely coming back.

Oreo Milk Tea

NGL... I previously came here during a Yelp event and really loved the experience... But when I revisited as a regular customer AND realized this used to be Westea... Omg. I am so sad. I used to love Westea. I think most can agree that Bobafinitea has some really big shoes to fill. For COVID safety purposes, indoor seating has been removed, and all patrons/staff must wear masks. Ordering takes place on a tablet outdoors (one for Bobafinitea, one for Mochiholic), where clean tablet pens/hand sanitizer is provided. After the first opening week, I realize that the staff are friendly but under-trained-- constantly gossiping about their peers in front of customers or milling about mindlessly. They ran out of sanitized tablet pens early on and nobody went to clean them. Inevitably, service was slow. OREO MILK TEA (w/boba, no ice + light sugar): Heavy, weird consistency. Almost like a melted milkshake. Separates within minutes and leaves an artificial aftertaste, and not just from the Oreo. Boba is gummy and overcooked. Not a fan Interior isn't too welcoming since they seem to be undergoing renovations (boxes everywhere, mismatching decor). I almost feel like they opened prematurely and are now seeing the consequences lol

A perfect place that you can grab bubble tea, desert and mochi donuts! The mochi donuts have a lot of flavors. I like the Oreo one best. Love the fruit tea and matcha mango latte. All freshly made mango!

Passion Fruit Tea showing passion seeds online but the tea doesn't actually come with any.

I was a big fan of Westea so when I saw there was a new boba spot in its place, I figured I would give it a try. To be fair, this review is only for teas, not the mochi donuts. Although it feels like their tea menu is pretty limited, I was excited to see that they have a passion fruit tea. Ordering from a kiosk for tea is a different experience, nowhere on their website did I see anything about it, otherwise I would have ordered online to save myself the awkwardness. Although they are new, it looked very messy inside and like nothing about the layout was thought out. After frequenting westea, it was strange to see. We got two drinks, passion fruit black tea green with lychee jelly and passion fruit peach green tea. Both 50 percent sugar. Both were on the sweeter side so I would suggest going down in sweetness from what you typically order. The black tea was the better of the two. Both were just okay- there are so many other tea places that are much better in my opinion. I also feel like there was false advertising because the photo on the website and kiosk show passion fruit seeds in the tea and there were none (pictured). I may go here again to try out the mochi donuts but would not consider this somewhere to go on a regular basis.

Kiwi Strawberry Tea

I promised my coworker that I would treat to her some milk tea, and I wanted to try a new place myself. I was browsing through DoorDash and this place popped up for me. After a bit of a fiasco with my order (which is something not needed to discuss here) I was finally able to get it. What I ordered was their Kiwi Strawberry Green Tea with lychee jelly (50% sweet) and some Cajun seasoned fries. Kiwi Strawberry Tea: honestly, it was alright. I did notice the hint of kiwi flavor in the drink and saw the strawberry purée in the drink itself. The lychee jelly helped make it sweeter after toning down the initial sugar. However, I couldn't find it memorable. It just felt like a normal tea and nothing special to me. Cajun Fries: I ordered this on a whim. It was beyond spicy, but still enjoyable. It has the right amount of heat for me, although I did start to pant a little bit and wanted milk. Would want to get this again though. Overall, not a bad place. I may consider ordering from here again.

This is a new place and I'm always looking for new business. They still have room for improvement. Popcorn chicken snack size alone was 10.45! That's too much! My order was for mild and it was super spicy. The wait time on my order said it would be ready in 15mins and I would get a text. 15 mins was up and no text, I gave it another 5 minutes before going in. Cashier was busy and no one was in front of me. I waited another 5 minutes. In all, 25 mins wait for one single order is not okay. I'll try again when they have been around a little longer.

This is the boba drinks part to mochiholic! I loved their canteloupe crema drink I had to share the love here too! It was so refreshing and tasty. Not overly sweet either so the canteloupe flavor could really stand out. We also tried the ube drink which was good too. Definitely more sugary but had good ube flavor.

I read some of the prior reviews on poor service and hard to use ordering systems. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but I figured it out so it can't be that hard! Combine that with very attentive service and I did not experience those two situations. I had a half dozen donuts and a passion fruit drink, light on the boba. Just to prove the ordering system was not that difficult, I was unable to properly take photos of the donuts but I do have a nice photo of the passion fruit drink. The drink was made to high quality boba drink standards. Please note the substantial fruit load on the bottom joined by the boba. The donuts were fun with unique flavors. Even though the icing is good, I ordered one plain and actually like it the best. The flavor of the dough they use is really good and I would suggest ordering one or two with no additional flavors if you are a glazed or plain donut fan.

Made a pit stop here for some Westea only to find out it's been replaced! Popped in anyway before our road trip. This is a combo shop with a mochi donut business with it (the mochi donut shop is the name advertised up top, will review on their Yelp page separately). They had cute holiday decor inside and matching custom donut boxes! When you enter, you just order at the kiosk. I will admit the kiosk menu was set up a bit scattered in my opinion. I like to be able to see the whole menu at once and find options easily instead of in sections, so it was a bit confusing to look at and scroll. Since they are a combo shop, they offer deals to purchase x drinks with x donuts. We did the 1 drink + 3 donut option and ordered a second drink. I'm always interested in drinks unique to a boba shop or that I can't find on other menus so I tried out their Rose Coffee Latte. This was delicious! Combined two flavors I love and it actually worked out great. Bf had the brown sugar milk tea which seems to be a staple on most boba shop menus, but this one had an interesting taste to the milk and I actually liked it. It tasted like they used molasses for their brown sugar sauce/syrup instead of what other shops generally use. Either way, the drinks were unique and yummy. Also I noticed their Yelp menu seems to include some options I didn't see available at the time, but maybe I just missed them from the kiosk? Not completely sure. Would give 5/5 but he the prices were insane. I remember buying boba drinks half the price and slowly seen the increase to $5 and now $6-7+ which is just gouging! I'd consider coming back to try their creme brulee drink, but I know of at least 2 other boba shops that offer creme brulee options without paying that much....on top of that, I liked Westea /: conflicted bc this shop isn't bad, but the cost is pretty disappointing.

We arrived at 7:40 PM, and the manager, Joseph, told us the restaurant would close in 10 minutes. I said that's OK. We'll order the food and eat as much as we can there until we have to leave, and then we will leave by the time we are asked to leave. My boyfriend, Jeff, thought the restaurant was open until 8 PM, so he checked the website. It said the location was open till 8 PM, so he walked outside to check the time on the door, and it read 8 PM. There were no other signs that said they were closing at 7:50 PM. Jeff called somebody to complain about the time discrepancy while we were waiting for our order to arrive. When our order arrived, Kira brought our food to the table in a really cute to-go bag, and I like that she listened to us that we would eat as much food as we could while we were at the restaurant and then take the rest to eat at home when it came closer to 8 PM. Our food was ready pretty quickly; we had plenty of time to finish our food before 8 PM. However, I think Jeff just wanted the manager to be upfront with him and say that the store was closing at 8 PM, so it's better to take your food to go or something like that, not make up an arbitrary time to say what time the restaurant was closed. I'm rating this Koja kitchen location four stars mainly because of the outstanding customer service provided by Kira. She was incredibly friendly and approachable, making the experience very pleasant. I wish more customer service representatives could be as kind and easy to talk to as she is.

I've never thrown away donuts before, but after just two bites of each one, I threw both away. They were simply too dense and heavy for me to enjoy. Honestly, it felt like I had a brick sitting in my stomach. I ordered a chocolate round and a maple bar, but the order was mixed up and I received a chocolate bar instead. The mix-up wasn't a big deal, but it didn't help the overall experience. The biggest issue was the texture. I prefer donuts that are light, airy, soft, and fresh. These were the exact opposite--very dense, thick, and bread-like. The maple topping actually had a nice flavor with a subtle honey-like sweetness, and it was probably the best part of the donut. Unfortunately, the dough itself was so heavy that the topping couldn't make up for it. Taste is subjective, and clearly many people enjoy this style of donut based on the ratings. It just wasn't for me. If you prefer a lighter, fluffier donut, you may want to keep that in mind before visiting. For my taste, this was a 2 out of 5 star experience.

We got the buttercream bread, sweet rice donut, chocolate cloud cake, milk cornet, and the strawberry milk bread. For drinks we got the red velvet hot cocoa and the caramel macchiato. The buttercream bread was my absolute favorite out of the bunch. The butter cream wasn't too sweet and the bread was sooo soft. The ratio of cream to bread was just right, so each bite of bread had a sweet balance of the fluffy cream. The sweet rice donut was okay. To be, it could have been more softer, but it was expected for it to go stale a little bit since it's been out lying for a while. Some things are just unavoidable. The chocolate cloud cake was really good, but there was so much cream. Unlike the buttercream bread, there was imbalance here, but I adored the giant strawberries sandwiched between the cream. The consistency of the actual cake was perfect though, because sometimes I know it can get really soggy from the cream. Next time I would give another cake a try instead. The milk cornet was great! Tried it out because it seemed really popular; there was only one left. This pastry like a croissant stuffed with milky cream. The cornet was perfectly crunchy and the milk cream wasn't too sweet. Next time, I want to give the blueberry version a try. The strawberry milk bread impressed me. It was super soft, and I like how there was a really small amount of cream. Like, I understood what the cream was trying to do there. One bite of just bread would be pretty dry, but a little bit of cream can help smooth things out but still keep the spotlight on the bread. The red velvet hot cocoa drink was what surprised me the most. I suppose this drink is Valentines day edition, so it's not always here. I was so surprised when I opened the lid and saw hot pink foam! Like, DANG! Tous les jours really went out of their way to give us a sip of Valentines day! This drink is on the sweeter end, though. A friend said that the caramel macchiato was just okay, nothing surprising or impressive about it. I guess it was a safe order. The baristas were really efficient with our drinks; both drinks took five minutes or less! I love the interior of this bakery. So cute yet so easygoing. Perfect ambiance for catching up with some girlfriends!
