This place is super slow. I walked in and asked how long it would take for a half rack of ribs to go. They said 20-25 minutes. I passed. A week later I ordered ahead online. It said it would be ready at 1:58 pm. Not ready when I walked in at 2:15, finally got it at 2:25, about 50 minutes after ordering online, and not during a lunch rush. I know ribs take awhile to cook but compare this to Shane's Rib Shack where your order is ready in a few minutes from ordering and this place can't compete. You guys need a better operation. The ribs were ok. The fries were mushy and flavorless, I think undercooked. I ordered fried winds with hot sauce and it was just fired chicken with sauce poured over it. Onion rings were just ok too. For the money and time, I won't come back. It was just mediocre, and there plenty of other above-average BBQ places nearby to go to instead. read more

Customer service is always on point. The food is good. The brisket could be improved, it has been on the dry side during my recent visits. The first time I went a few years back it was delicious! Labor Day 2018 Well Mommie took the day off from cooking --- Mommie and I had to get our BBQ today - Baby Back Ribs, Brisket, Baked Beans, Fried Okra, Fried Pickles, Chicken Wings, Hush Puppies and Macaroni and Cheese. We ordered the Sampler Plate. Brisket and Ribs were very tender. Food was good and tasty, good portions and good value. Service was slow and restaurant had no air conditioning today. I think they should have offered a free dessert since our dine in experience was a bit uncomfortable due to no AC! As a dine in not sure why our food was brought to our table with all plastic to go, plastic utensils and plastic cups. Just something to think about as you continue on. read more

I was skeptical about eating here seeing all the bad reviews about the service, but my boyfriend and I took a chance and I'm SO glad we did! The service? FAST! The vibes? Super friendly and upbeat! THE FOOD?! Amazing to say the least!! I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. I could cut the ribs with my plastic fork! Two stars is tough for me for this restaurant because their food is amazing. However, they do not understand the concept of having food ready when it's requested. Despite loving the food, I quit ordering from them for this very reason and haven't been back for over six months, when I last had to wait 45 minutes past the order time. I decided to try again, and here I am outside waiting again over 35 minutes beyond my pick-up time - with no end in sight. They have my money - and a very nice tip - so I guess I have to wait and because I have a family gathering waiting for food. But - I won't be back for a very long or at least until they can better manage their business. read more

I do not want to write this review but at this point, I feel that it's the only way to effectively implement some change. The food is good however the service is horrible. The wait for food is way too long-even when you call ahead. From what I've assessed, it seems to come from a lack of organizational flow. The staff possess zero urgency to fulfill orders and the phone rings with no commitment to getting people in and out. I literally was on hold one time for 45 minutes and when walking into the restaurant, still on hold, I noticed the phone off the hook while the server was slowly pouring BBQ sauce into containers. I stepped away for a few months and I am now here- you guessed it- waiting for my food from an order I placed almost a hour ago. I'm looking at the employee now-mask down, causally taking orders without any urgency. Long story short- do better. I hope this reaches management. Well having a hard time on trying to figure out how to give this place negative stars?? One star is just to much this is the worse B.B.Q. joint I have ever been to. I ordered ribs and chicken and didn't even finish my food I ate about 2 to 3 bites of each and threw the rest away! Let's star with the chicken I've never EVER had a chicken thigh that dry I couldn't tell the difference between the chicken and the Togo box also the smoked chicken isn't smoked it was clearly left on a grill most likely the moment they opened and I was there at 6:30pm. I guess when you order food to eat there they give it to you in a Togo box so it's easy to throw away.... now on to the ribs slimy wet nasty mess of fat and minimal meat and we're cold. This was sooo good! We got takeout and ordered a pound of pulled pork, baked beans, slaw and corn muffins. Simple, uncomplicated and hit the spot! Pork was delicious, moist, not overly fatty or greasy and great flavor. Wonderful mix of perfect seasonings and smokiness that complimented one another. The beans, oh my gawd, the beans were fabulous...bean crack! I can't even describe their yumminess, beyond the typical beans, the sauce, seasonings, chopped up onions, peppers...I could live on those beans, they are so good and the slaw, another mix of secret seasoning heavenliness!! It wasn't just your standard run-of-the-mill slaw. Different cabbages well chopped, slightly sweet mayo mixture, I think I found some chopped pickles in it too. Just the right perfect blend of flavors. I'm writing this review on the second night of enjoying the leftovers from Thursdays fantastic dinner and I'm so glad there was enough to enjoy it twice. Sadly, it's all gone now but lucky for me, Bobbee-Os is a quick ten minute drive so you can be sure we'll be enjoying their food again (and again!) now that I've discovered them. Decided to try this place for lunch today. Top notch service from the moment I walked in. All the staff, and my server specifically, we very friendly and attentive. I decided to go with the sampler as I usually do in BBQ places to get a overall taste of their Q. Well, at least my big 4 for determining BBQ quality, Brisket slices, burnt ends, pulled pork, and ribs. I was a bit surprised to see the brisket was either or, I couldn't get both. I ended up with burnt ends which also surprised me as they came all broken up in a cup instead of the 1x1 cubes I usually see. Other than those surprises all was as expected. As for the taste of everything, it was good solid bbq fair. Honestly, a little short on the smoke flavor you want in good bbq, more relying on the sauce for the extra punch in flavor, but still good. Very disappointed. Ordered food on a Saturday night. Not that busy considering. Was told that we could get curbside. Promised at 7:37pm. We arrived on time and called. After being on hold for 10 minutes, I just went inside. The music was so loud you had to practically scream to get heard. Waited another 10 minutes or so before I got to the counter. Not a long line, just not recognized. Told them my name and waited some more. And waited. They asked my name again. I waited. They asked me again. "For the third time, the name is..." That's when it really went downhill. Skinny white lady told me I was being disrespectful. I told her I meant no disrespect, but I had been waiting quite a while. Another lady came out, skinny black lady. Asked my name again. I told her I wasn't giving it out again. The skinny white lady yelled my name to the back. The other lady kept asking my name and I kept saying "Don't." Finally I said, "Ma'am, I just want my food." She said they were working on it. I said, "No, you're standing here arguing with me about my name." (Saw a lot of workers just standing around.) It was now at least 8:05pm. Again, skinny white lady said I was being disrespectful. I said, "Ma'am, I just want my food and I don't think the other lady should have been a smart a--." More drama. Finally. I was told My food was coming. I was honestly so angry, I just stared and didn't say anything. Another very nice young lady finally brought me my food and apologized for the wait. I just took the food and left without saying anything. Finally got my food at 8:10pm, 33 minutes after it was promised. And again, they weren't that busy. And to beat all, the food was mediocre at best. There are much better BBQ places in the area with much better service and food. Strike this one off your list unless you want a long wait with attitude from the staff. *Update and Response* I have no idea why anyone would say that I called anyone a "b-----." I simply never did that. I know this because I make a point not to use that word in referring to women. Also, I literally just got quiet because I was so angry and I didn't want to explode. This is simply management's attempt to discredit my review. Notice that none is the issues that I brought up were addressed. Management felt the need to "poison the well" to make me look bad. Bobbee O's never disappoints. The smoked wings are sooooooo good they literally fall off the bones. They offer a various sauces such as hot BBQ, BBQ, spicy, etc. I love the BBQ it's very good when dipped into the smoked wings. I had the Mac&Cheese and yams. The Mac&Cheese is delicious and very cheesy and the yams were just ok. Customer service was great also. I got all of this whole platter for 7.99 plus tax. You cant beat the prices. I also had a Arnold Palmer to drink which wasn't the best I've had but it was okay. I highly suggest this place. read more

Also I ordered their pulled bbq chicken which came with a choice or bread so I got hush puppies and my two sides were Mac and cheese(melt in your mouth) and baked beans which was great as well. Probably never would've found this jewel if it wasn't for COVID. Facts; ordered a full slab of STL Ribs, with the option they offer which is adding a couple fried wings. I will let you who should interested to search their menu and discover all the amazing options, sides and choices. I chose fried wings because that's how I found them in my Yelp search. Added a side called Mac salad as well as potato salad, a corn bread muffin and the option with slight up-charge, of extra sauces. Here's the best part. It's all amazing! The quality of the food, the taste, and attention to detail-every sauce was individually labeled. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, full of flavor with just the right amount of sauce they came with. I didn't need extra sauce nor did I want to ruin how they arrived. The wings were large plump and full of flavor. It was hard to decide whether to eat them with or without dipping into one of the three sauces I requested. The Mac salad was a great surprise. Has a little kick but I would recommend it. The potato salad brought back memories. The only thing this place needs is a better PR team to promote the fact they are the best BBQ in NC and possibly in the USA! read more

Visiting from out of town. At 9:30pm lights are on, lots of cars outside, doors wide open, crowd inside. So we went in. After standing in line 15 minutes the clerk rudely said "We closed at 9 except for online orders." People in line say they waited 50 minutes to two hours for orders. They were clearly overwhelmed. I sympathize. So don't make your situation worse. LOCK THE DOORS at 9 or put a sign on the door "closed - online pickups only." Don't let hungry customers wait with your door wide open THEN say we're closed. Don't refuse to serve me when I'm already inside. Don't walk away rudely ("hand to the face") when I ask why your door was unlocked. And DON'T tell me it was locked. (How did I get inside?) Hope the BBQ is worth it - I'll never know. Unfortunately this was my first and last visit to this establishment!!! I called and place a order online at 3:03pm and was told that, the food would be ready in 20 minutes. I got there at 3:40 and spent about 45 minutes waiting, for food I already called and ordered that they never even started. I asked for a refund after waiting for about 30 minutes, that's when I was actually given some type of concern for my order. I was told that they are very busy which is hard to believe, as there were only 4 other customers in the building at the time. Two were eating at a table and the other two were waiting like me so that cannot be a valid reason. Now let's discuss the food, I got a half chicken and half brisket with a small Mac n cheese and collard greens. The chicken was dry. The brisket was fatty and came in a tub of grease. Mac n cheese was ok and collard greens was the only enjoyable thing. There are better bbq spots with better service. I Pray y'all get y'all shit together. read more

I visited their old location a few times and was hopeful for their new spot. Based on today's visit, I'm disappointed. I ordered a 1/2 dozen smoked wings for sit down and was brought a pile of boiled wings in a to-go container. The wings were large, however, they were cooked either in water or steam causing the skin to become rubbery and distasteful. It appeared they were tossed on the grill to heat them up, and then slathered 'em sauce. Not a representation of good BBQ on any level. Yuck. read more

Few foods cause as much rivalry, fierce loyalties, and controversy as BBQ. Like many folks, I love good BBQ, and have my preferences as to meats, sauce, and sides. For complete transparency, I've been eating 'Q' in various states regularly for almost 40 years, and my favorite is whole-hog pork BBQ with low country SC-style mustard sauce (it's what I grew up with, and to date, I've never had a better style anywhere). That being said, I respect the other styles/locations, and if it's done right and with love and respect to the meat, you'll get my business. So... My girlfriend and I have driven by Bobbee O's many times (and always laughed at the lit neon 'OPEN' sign on the side window that is turned on during hours that the restaurant is clearly not open), and finally decided to give it a try. We ordered through DoorDash, and the food arrived hot and well-packaged about 30 minutes after ordering (which was around 6:30 pm on a Saturday evening). I ordered the pulled pork dinner with cole slaw and baked beans, and my girlfriend ordered the brisket dinner with fried okra and cole slaw. We also ordered a side of Brunswick stew, a side of mac & cheese, and hush puppies as our choice of bread. Overall, we had a decent first experience (I'd give 3.5 stars if Yelp had that option), with the following pros & cons : Pros: * Almost all of the food looked fresh and had a 'home-made' quality. I don't know about you, but the last thing I want out of my 'Q' is an industrial-scale, boring chain restaurant vibe. * The portion sizes were ample, a good value, and had enough for leftovers. * Both the pulled pork and the brisket were moist and tender, and didn't need to be covered up in sauce to be tasty. But they did not have a massively intense smoked flavor that I've had at other places. * The mac & cheese had good flavor, with the addition of a little onion. It was definitely NOT the 'blue box', and tasted more like 'somebody else's family's recipe', if that makes any sense. * The fried okra was surprisingly good, and I absolutely despise okra. Cons: * While the vegetables in the cole slaw looked fresh, appealing, and were perfectly crisp, the dressing was so overwhelmingly sweet that my heart sank with disappointment after the first bite and I couldn't eat any more. Please watch the sugar ! * I know deep-fried foods can be difficult to pull off with take-out and delivery, but the hush puppies were not hot, dry in the middle, and seemed almost like an afterthought. * The Brunswick stew was okay, not great. The reason I put it in the cons is that we found not one, but two big bay leaves floating in it. While I like the flavor of bay leaf, and applaud the cooks for using real spices and herbs, they can be a little weird to swallow, especially if you're not expecting them. * The baked beans were also a little too sweet for my taste (but nowhere near as distractingly sweet as the cole slaw). A review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the sauce. I found the sauce to be neither a pro nor a con. For what it was, it was fine. Some people will love it, others will hate it. It is on the sweet and tangy side of things, and I personally didn't use much of it because I didn't think the meat needed it. It's not my favorite style, but seemed to be crafted with love, so I can't knock it. Your results may vary. My girlfriend and I both remarked that we would like to eat Bobbee O's BBQ again, and maybe try some different items. The potential for greatness is there with some tweaking here and there. read more
