I was told by the dealer that I needed to replace my front control arm on my 2016 Lexus 350ES. I was also told the repair would be expensive so I decided to get a second opinion at Chapman Auto Repair. After they looked at my vehicle I was told that while there was some wear, no replacement was necessary at this time. They said it has a ways to go before it would need to be replaced. Not to mention when I told him I couldn't have them do anything just until I figured out how I could manage it financially, his attitude got worse. Told me fine I could come get my car then asked if I was in a rental car I told him yes and his attitude got even worse and he said " well we are being charged for that so the sooner you can get it here the better" When I went to pick up my car I spoke with Alan who charged me $65 for them looking at my car I try to explain to him that Joe has been rude to me and he said I'm so sorry to hear that and then continue to talk as if it didn't matter. Incredible service at its best. They honestly made me feel at home with and confident with their work. Sadly I came in for an oil change and a full service check and I found out so much more was going on with my car. I had major problems that needed to be addressed. They guided me through visuals and a walk around with my current car problems. They also offered me a payment plan and offered to set me up with a rental car at no cost while my car would be getting fixed. I decided in the end to not get my car fixed at that moment because I couldn't make the decision on the spot because I had my grandmas funeral to attend too and I do have another car that I can drive. But they got to know me and even blew up balloons for my kids which they were extremely excited to see when I got home. My 2014 BMW has this annoying dashboard notification that will not go away unless you fix the problem. I had. Blinker out and the darn car wouldn't stop beeping! I originally messaged Chapman Auto Repair for a quote via yelp. I submitted 5 requests for quotes and they responded the fastest. I called the shop and Frank answered. I told him about the issue and asked if he could get it fixed right away. He said I might be low on blinker fluid. LOL! Considering the unhealthy amount of cough medicines I had just consumed, I momentarily freaked out wondering if all these years I hadn't been replacing my blinker fluid. (I'm not that sharp.) Anyway, he said they could handle it right away. The shop is cute. They offer free coffee, water, and popcorn. I had taken my 2017 Honda Ridgeline to have a suspected tire leak and unusual engine oil leakage I just learned about after getting my oil change done by Jiffy Lube. My mechanic Joe was upfront honest with me: he informed me that such oil leaks should have a 5-year warranty, which I had no idea until contacting the dealership that same day. He told me how much it would cost (about $80 to look at it) and what I appreciate the most is that he really didn't have to give me such information. Because of his upfront honesty, I trusted him to give me an honest assessment. Kind of looked at the whole thing as a second opinion. When I picked up that day, he told me that Jiffy Lube caused the oil spillage all over my engine when they did the oil change. He cleaned it up all the oil and he was able to fix the small tire leakage. Because it was my first time there, they offered a $25 off entire service. Picked up my car with engine running. I have been looking for a full-service mechanic because the place I was going to let me down. After a bit of research, I found Chapman Auto of Orange. For the record: I have NOT had any work done, yet. I have been having some issues with my Acura and decided it was time for the professionals to take a look. First Impressions: Everyone is super nice. I filled out a request for an appointment at 10:30 PM and by 8:45 AM Alan had given me a call. I told him about my issues and that I was waiting for a tow. The truck had already been ordered, so no point deduction for not telling me about the free 3mi tow service they offer (I also have roadside assistance, so my tow was the cost of a tip). The Full Diagnostic Fee was a bit higher than I would have liked but acceptable. I should have used the $25 off coupon I saw on yelp. I will ask if they will honor it. Because of the price of the diagnostic, I have some higher expectations. I was initially greeted by Wesley, who asked if I would be needing a ride home. They have a free shuttle, awesome. While waiting, the owner, John, came up and introduced himself. On the free shuttle ride home, I was told that they also have loaner cars, if I end up having the repairs done. Let me quickly set the scene. Me, my wife, and 2-year-old daughter take a spontaneous Saturday trip to Disneyland, leaving from Las Vegas. We don't pack a thing and head out. After a wonderful day, we see fireworks, gas up, and head home. With 5 lanes of dense traffic backed up for miles on the 91, my clutch goes out, and things get bad. I call several toe truck companies before one says, "Hey man, you need to call 911, like now." CHP arrives, shutting down the highway, and uses their car to push mine to the side. An interesting tow truck driver and a Best Western later, I drop my car off at Chapman's gate. Now it's Sunday, and Chapman's is closed. I reach out the owner on Yelp, and he responds right away, saying, "I will get you taken care of first thing Monday morning." After another day at Disneyland, and another hotel room, I get to Chapman's bright and early. I talk to Joe, who says he will check things out and see what we can do. I can tell Joe is a compassionate man who actually cares about getting my family home. Unfortunately, it's not a simple fix. It's going to take an entire clutch replacement which is usually a day and a half job. Joe hustles up and calls around for all the parts and luckily is able to find them. He says he will get me out the same day. A major relief. Fun fact, Lyft and Uber, don't have car seats anywhere other than New York. We spend the day walking the streets of Orange and catch a movie. At 4pm, Joe calls to let me know they are buttoning things up and I should head down. We sit around a while and meet another interesting character, Frank, who keeps things light and lively while we wait. Unfortunately, one of the parts is bad out of the box. We will have to stay another night. Frank offers to pay for our room and says they will get the part first thing in the morning. Best case scenario we are on the road by 10am, worst case, 3pm. I appreciate the blunt honesty throughout. At 8am the next day, I get a call saying my car is ready to go. Joe and James, spent the entire night, until 9pm, taking my car back apart so they could get things done early in the morning and get my family on the road. It was James birthday to boot, and he spent it at work, helping me. That's the real deal. I won't forget it. Big thanks to Joe, James, and Frank for taking care of me and going the extra mile. After four days in the same clothes and 15+ miles pushing a stroller around the streets of Orange, finally getting home is an indescribable feeling that I still may not have if it wasn't for these men. read more

My son's car started driving rough recently. He drives really far to work so this was a big problem for us. We tried a mobile mechanic who misdiagnosed the problem, did unnecessary work and didn't fix it. We tried a second mobile mechanic who diagnosed the problem but couldn't fix it. We tried the dealer who also also diagnosed the problem but couldn't fix it because they said they couldn't find the necessary part (intake manifold) due to supply chain problems. We reached out to Chapman Auto Repair for a quote on Yelp and brought the car in. It was a bit of a tricky situation because to determine whether the failed part (intake manifold) could be fixed or needed to be replaced required several hours of labor and cost. If the manifold needed to be replaced there was a chance it would not be available because of covid supply chain problems. We did not want to pay for several hours of labor to find out the part that was needed was not available so we worked with our service advisor Alex and came up with a plan to first search for this part against the odds to confirm it was available in case it was needed. Miraculously we ended up finding the part at a dealer 25 miles away. Alex went the next day on his day off to pick up the part to keep his commitment to us. This guy really put service before self provided service excellence. He was honest, communicated effectively, diligent, and responsive . They fixed our car and my son says it's driving like new again! I'm really glad we found this shop. I'll definitely be going back and highly recommend them. Started taking my wife's Volvo there for maintenance. The were good at slinging oil and upselling flushes. After having some upholstery work done elsewhere we had an issue with the seatbelts in the rear seat. Brought to Chapman AR for repair. They fixed it. Fast forward a few months and one of the belts doesn't work again. Brought to them again as a come back. They fix it. Problem happens again. We take it to them. They want to charge for diag. This is, what we in the industry call, a come back. You don't charge for a come back unless it is a different issue but you look at the vehicle first. They won't even look at the vehicle for a come back without the charge. Nope. Not how this works. They insist, they want to charge for diag. My wife refuses to be charged the diag fee and this now becomes a B.A.R. issue. We will be filing a complaint on Monday and taking the car to someone else to repair. Please support this business, they are 100% professional, and trustworthy! I went to them about three months ago with a slipping clutch and they took care of me. The clutch work was great, and my clutch is still going strong. The staff was great. The owner was super friendly, and I even got a rental for the day. My car is a 2007 Toyota Corolla with over 200,000 miles so I knew their were other things that needed to be taken care of, but at no time did I feel pressured to do them.
