Chapman Auto Repair of Orange is truly the "happiest place on earth" for car repairs! I needed to get my starter checked and replaced. Yelped a quote and received a response by the next morning. Also called in and spoke with John, the owner of the establishment! Customer service is top notch! They really get to know you and vice versa! Complementary popcorn and coffee using a Keurig. Free WiFi while you wait. Price for service was based on "repair pal" quote, which, by comparison to other auto repair locations, was the best buy around. Also asked to have my brakes checked and they did it, free of charge! Definitely appreciated every moment from when I arrived to when I left! This is by far the best auto repair shop i have ever been too. They helped me right away, and were able to take a look at my car even though I did not have an appointment. The gentleman helping me, I believe his name was Gus, was incredibly knowledgeable. He explained exactly what was wrong with my car, what probably caused it, and how it could be fixed. I really appreciated him explaining it all too me since I'm not too car savy. The best part was it all very reasonably priced! Which I was really happy to hear, i thought it would cost an arm and a leg. So anyway, If you want a reliable shop with some nice people, this is the place. You've got a customer for life. Okay! So the owner of this repair shop (John) reached out directly and refunded me completely (and then some). He also explained the situation with the shady technician who he had to warn multiple times before firing. He provided proof that the technician in question has been fired from his establishment and he has been working to get people to trust his shop again. As for the emails - they are working with the CRM company regarding the faulty unsubscription problem. I truly hope this shop is heading in the right direction now, but I would still be wary and do your research before going in to any auto shop! read more

I have received multiple oil changes here and the service is quick, and I've had no issues after (eg stripped bolts, screws from careless oil changes). They even provide a shuttle service if you need a ride while they are working on your car. They threw in a free car wash too, making my car nice and shiny. Feels good to get it all done in one place. I really wanted this to be my go to place, but that has came to screeching halt from a fast one they tried to pull one on my fiancé'. I had a oil change done in the past, that went slow but was done okay. A couple days ago my car was brought in for a broken fuel line, which should of been a open and shut case. The very next day the fuel line bursted on the freeway while my fiancé' was on his way back home from work. This happened because, the mechanic decided to be on the cheap about fixing it by splicing the current tube, instead of ordering the part brand new in the first place, and while charging us over $334.00. They really thought they would get away with such crappy work. They did go back and fix the issue with not charging us, because we refused to pay for there crappy mistake. My fiancée spoke with Alan the so called manager. When my Fiancé confronted the mechanics about the issue , they didn't want to own the mistake. They fixed what I wanted and done. Truly a godsend!!! I could hear my Subaru battery was slowly dying, and then one morning it finally died and I was stranded. After getting a jump start I called Chapman Auto repair and the friendliest man on earth answered, saying I could bring my car in right away. Alan at the front desk was AMAZING and very nice, he helped get me an estimate very quickly and was very communicative during the whole process. I also asked for a routine inspection on my vehicle and the mechanics (shoutout to the guys in the back!) also caught an issue with my suspension, which definitely could have been a safety hazard. Overall I had my car there for about 24 hours with two repairs done, which I consider pretty fast service. One cool thing about this shop is they use an online service to show you the overall "health" of your car so you know what repairs are urgent and which can wait. Cars always cost money, but this was the MOST painless car repair I have ever been experienced in Southern California. I am writing this review because this place must pay to get such a high rating on yelp and I'd like the public to know the truth. "Your trust is our top concern" is a joke. My son took his car in because the blower motor for his A/C on his Mazda 6 was working sporadicly. I cautioned my son to only get an estimate and not to commit to any repairs. These guys came back with an estimate of $593 and change to replace the blower motor. $295 was for the blower motor replacement. $70 for an oil change. $33 to replace the engine air filter (a part that costs $15) and then the grand finale was $110 to replace the cabin air filter. This part costs $15 as well. I asked the salesman there when I took my son to pick up his car about this and I was impressed with his ability to keep a straight face. They wanted to charge my son $73 alone in labor to replace this cabin air filter. Which literally takes 5 seconds to do and is easy as removing a panel and popping in the new filter. My son said the cabin air filter was even lying on the seat when he picked up his car and was going to put the filter back in himself but the salesman said "hey let me get the technician do that for you". The technician then came over and popped in the filter and replaced the panel...literally 5 seconds. It's amazing that these people can sleep well at night knowing they are taking advantage of the public during a pandemic. Pretty sad! read more

John and Nick were very kind and quick. They are thorough and care about the customer. The bathroom is super clean and well stocked with paper towels and well managed. The waiting area is nice and even smells nice unlike most auto shop waiting areas that smell like oil and grease. I came is for a smog check and was greeted promptly and helped right away. It felt like it took less than 10 minutes. I hardly had time to enjoy the amenities that were offered in the waiting area. There was a Keurig with many options for beverages, chilled water, snacks including fresh popcorn. There was even little games for kids. I would come back! read more

This place was great. My dash was lit up like a Christmas tree and they figured out that it was an o2 sensor. They had me in and out with a new sensor and the minimal cost. The dealership had looked at my truck and wanted to charge to restore my car to new, several thousand dollars. My car wouldn't start, and I left it here overnight to be fixed in the morning. AAA's roadside service already narrowed down the problem to my starter. I then got a call from Al who said that in addition to the starter, there were several other things that needed work (see attached photo for breakdown). He quoted me at $1,900.00 and was only able to offer $100 off. I love my car as it is the first car that I paid off myself. Based on it being a bit old (2008 Civic) and the other yelp reviews stating this place was honest, I took the deep plunge into my savings. Later on, John, the owner called to make sure I was satisfied with the work. He even offered an additional discount. I told John that I really appreciated the concern for customer satisfaction and quality work. He advised that he hires master mechanics to make sure everything is done right, which causes the price to be a bit higher than some other places. This made me feel this shop deserves a five star review. They include a lifetime warranty that can be used nationwide on some of the work they do. John is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable, and he tries to be honest with you (he has a no over-promise policy). I'm only here to get an oil change for my car and to get my tires checked but with this type of service and honesty, I'll be back in the future (cause I definitely need it!) Joe took great care of me! I had to tow my car in on Saturday morning because it wouldn't start. They gave me a free rental that i used til my car was ready to pick up on Monday, which was a crazy nice surprise as i work on the weekends and def needed a car. So that was a huge stress relief! They have a coupon online that i used so i got $50 off, being a first time customer. $856 later and my car runs great, had a free rental to cover the time my car was at their shop (so very stress free weekend) and honestly-the guys at this shop were so service and detail oriented.. i never felt ripped off or tricked into doing more work than needed on my car.. just honest, kind and hard working guys!
