The first time I brought my car in, my engine light had turned on for the first time. I went to them because they were recommended to me by my mom. I went in and they got me a price pretty quickly and my car was good as new when I got it back. The price wasn't the best but I was pretty pleased with the results. Then a few months later, my car started smelling really badly and began to smoke. I took it in to the shop again and they told me it would cost over $2k. I'm displeased with their service because not only did they overcharge me, but they should've checked/known about these problems when I brought my car in the first time. I took my car to a different shop and they said my car had several leaks that should've been fixed months ago. They charged me at a much lower price and fixed everything that was wrong with my car, rather than making things difficult and only fixing the parts of my car that they wanted to. Wow what can I say. I have never had customer service like this in my life. I found my shop and I will never go anywhere else. It all started when the tow truck driver who referred me brought me there. I didn't know anything about the shop but when I got in. Almost to immediately one of the employees greeted me at the tow truck and helped me down. The other mechanic came along in about five minutes and pushed the car into the shop. I sat in the lobby and they entered my information into the computer and they charged $109 which seemed reasonable to find out what the problem was. After an hour of testing the technician they sent me a thing called a digital inspection report that showed that my fuel pump was not working. They gave me a quote and they gave me the time to check the price. I felt comfortable with it after speaking to my brother who knows a lot about cars. They set about going to fix the problem. This was the best auto mechanic shop experience I can remember. Excellent and friendly customer service, and were able to take us the next day at open. The dealership didn't have any availability for days and this was urgent to fix in order to get back home about 90 miles away. They were able to trouble shoot and fix my check engine light issues the same day, so we could return home with our car that night. They did whatever they had to in order to get the parts needed and took good care of us, even a fresh cup of coffee for the drive home. I came here after finding out I needed a new alternator and calling my usual repair shop was gonna be over double what I'd paid here. They were more then accommodating to help me and keep me updated on the car. This was my first visit. I called 1st as all I needed today was a smog check. They told me the wait was 30-45 mins & that I could use the "First time customer $35 off discount". I arrived & was greeted by a friendly man. He took my car to the smog check area. As I entered the office/ waiting area I was immediately greeted by another man who offered me a bottle of cold water. The waiting area is air conditioned, clean & has comfortable chairs along with coffee & magazines. While waiting I asked about options for tires, the man was very helpful. I do not trust that this shop (or the employee I interacted with) is honest, competent, or cares about their customers. My turn signals stopped working and my regular mechanic told me I needed a "flasher" but he didn't have any in stock. Since I needed it done today, I made a call to this shop after a Google search specifically asking for a "flasher" for my specific car with the make, model, and year. The person on the phone named Kenyard said it would be no problem as they have many different flashers in stock. I asked if he could double check that they do have the correct model for my car in stock, but he told me not to worry and that they would have it. When I got to the shop, Kenyard remembered my call but for some reason, forgot that I even mentioned a "flasher" and told me "I thought you said light bulb." Then he said they don't keep flashers in stock. Really?!? I specifically mentioned the word "flasher" multiple times and asked him to double check if he would have it in stock. I never once mentioned the word "light bulb." Is this the way they get customers to come to their shop? Lie to them that they can help and then conveniently say that they misunderstood what I specifically asked for? After that I asked for recommendations of how they can help fix my turn signals. He just kept repeating the same thing, "well if you're asking for a flasher, then that may or may not fix the problem...". He wouldn't give me a game plan or suggestion of how to fix it. I finally had to ask a different worker, Alex, what to do and he simply recommended a diagnostic. I'm grateful that at least one of the workers can answer a simple question. If they do not have the capability to listen to their customers when given a specific question, then I would never trust that they have the capability to competently work on my car without compromising the safety of myself and others on the road. read more

Chapman Auto Repair saves the day! I took my car to the dealer (Subaru Orange Coast) and the botched the oil change. My car was leaking oil and I was driving out of state in a few days! I couldn't get an appointment at the dealer, so I went to Chapman Auto Repair and they identified that the oil drain plug was only finger tight and I had lost almost a quart of oil! Alan helped me get my car in for routine 60,000 mile maintenance that had been recommended by my car dealership. He was exceedingly friendly, explaining all the pricing to me over the phone beforehand and scheduling me for next day service. Their prices were better than the estimate from my dealership, so I was happy to try it out. Alan even set me up with a free loaner car for the day and had my car washed for me (free) before I picked it up! I got a text towards the end of the day with the full report of services completed and inspection results including a recommendation for an additional service my car could benefit from (new battery). I didn't opt for it though because the battery is under warranty through my dealer, so it was a helpful notification for me to go back to the dealer and have them replace it. I'm annoyed because the dealer just had my car last week to replace the airbag due to a recall, and although they said they did a full inspection of the car, they didn't tell me about the low battery levels! Alan showed me a picture of the battery reading they took, so I can trust this report. Makes me very annoyed with the dealership, since I'll have to take time out of my schedule to get the work done again...but that's another story. Alan (and his co-workers) were very friendly and I couldn't have asked for a better car repair experience! Thank you, Alan!
