A memorable experience! A great meal with a fun, inviting environment and super excellent service. We went here while visiting Phoenix in March 2020, a couple of weeks before everything shut down. Our start was the crispy Q-Rolls. We had the Whole Hog Heaven. The Baby Back Ribs and St. Louis Ribs as well as the brisket and sausage were all excellent. Our great sides were shoestring fries, cole slaw and beans. We finished with the Sub-Zero Banana Cream Square which was very good. The service was amazingly great. The atmosphere was fun and comfortable. It's not the best BBQ I've had, but Bobby Q is one of those places where the entire experience goes above the sum of its parts. Great bbq in a not so great part of town. But don't let that stop you. Big parking lot and a popular place that attests to its good food. Reservations are on Yelp. We shared a three meat platter but only ordered two meats: Beef rib and double brisket and chose Mac and cheese and beans. We had their cornbread as a starter and asked for more. The beef rib was soooo good and had a wonderfully rich flavor. The brisket was a good smoky flavor and very tender. Mac and cheese was yummy but the beans were a little crunchy although the flavor was great. I asked to try both the spicy and sweet bbq sauce. Both were good but I like the spicy more! The bar staff rocks! Last Friday was my first visit to Bobby Q. My wife was out of town so I was getting BBQ Showed up around 4:45 and the two gentlemen working the bar were quick to check on me. Was able to have a beer in hand within 2 minutes of sitting down. The way we all wish it would be. Got an order of the Brisket Rolls which are dangerous. Love the concept. Crispy wrap around some slightly crispy on the ends shredded brisket. Embarrassed to admit to how many I think I could eat. Got the two meat platter - brisket and beef ribs with roasted corn along with mashed potatoes. Brisket was cooked well with an appropriate amount of sauce. Sometimes places drown it to cover for its dry or flavorless, not so here. I was a little disappointed with the beef ribs. I think I got a rib and a half. They weren't really the same size rib that I would pickup from the meat 'section' at my Fry's. I'm not expecting Flintstone rib or a specialty cut, but at least give me something more than a small pork rib. I have no opinion on the flavor because it was all sauce. Roasted Corn/Mashed Potatoes were good. Would order again but not something I would crave or say THAT! next time I go. Overall, staff were great and food overall was good. Will skip the beef ribs next time but will look forward to try something else. Possibly try not to eat a plate of brisket rolls. read more

So my friend and I were in the Phoenix area to attend Innings Festival and he wanted to meet up with a friend of his who'd moved from Houston to the Phoenix area. His friend suggested that we meet up here at Bobby Q BBQ (love the name, btw). Hailing from Houston, I've been to many excellent BBQ restaurants in Houston and around Texas so you can call me a BBQ snob if you want. I was skeptical about going to a chain BBQ restaurant. Yes, it's only a local chain, but still a chain nonetheless. To make what would be a long review short, let me just go ahead and give you the highlights of my experience here. Food - I had ordered the three meats meal: Brisket (requested fatty and burnt-ends), pulled pork, and some sausage. For my side orders, I had ordered some roasted corn and potato salad. Not going to lie, I didn't have much of a high expectation, but this BBQ was pretty darn good. I mean, is it comparable to the likes of Killen's BBQ, Corkscrew BBQ, Franklin's BBQ, etc? No. Not even close. But if you just want to enjoy some pretty good BBQ, Bobby Q BBQ is really not a bad place to visit. As for service, we couldn't have asked for a better service. Our server was super attentive and was always checking in on us to see if we had everything we needed, but not to a point that it was annoying. Expensive but worth it. A couple of things set this place apart from their competitors. For one thing, the brisket is truly done just right - very tender and not overburdened by the bbq sauce. Not saying you can't find that elsewhere, but in addition to getting that right, they also offer some items you can't find anywhere else. Brandon was our server and he was phenomenal with service!!! He was on top of it! Request him as your server!! He was the reason why we stayed and ordered food. If only this restaurant wasn't so far from home. Because WOW. You can taste the love and craftsmanship that goes into their meats. Fall off the bone ribs and buttery chicken. Even their sides are delicious. BobbyQ is the restaurant I take folks to when they visit from out of town because I know that there will be no complaints. The service is really great with friendly and polite servers. It's very clean inside as well and the tables are nicely spread out so you don't ever feel cramped.
