I was craving Italian so bad this past Wednesday night. My husband and I decided to try BoBos bc it came up on YELP as being somewhat close. First when you walk in it is so uninviting. They don't have a dining area. Yes it's a small space but there should be wall tables with stools around the perimeter of the waiting area. I counted you could prob seat 15-20 people if they did that. If I knew this place was not done in I wouldn't have gone. Next I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The most disgusting spaghetti I have ever had in my life. The noodles were so over cooked they disapated as soon as you put them in your mouth. Mush!!!! The Meatballs has some kinda Black stuff all over them and they didn't taste right. I'm not sure what kinda meat they were made of if they were even made out of meat at all. My husband got the lasagna... The noodle at the bottom was not even cooked. It was an uncooked hard noodle at the bottom of his lasagna. My son had a pepperoni pizza. The service was great! Let's start with the pizza, it's really good and cheesy with a crispy crust which is definitely a plus as well as them having a variety of toppings for them. The calzone we ordered was full of flavor. It had generous amounts of cheese and topping and wasn't overpowered by large amounts of bread as a filler. However, where they completely got me and definitely confirmed their 5 stars and my word that I would come back are their garlic knots and cinnamon knots. Crispy bread knots smothered in an extremely flavorful garlic butter. Not only did i immediately have to order right then and there but regret not ordering more to take. Okay.. We have ordered both delivery and take out from this establishment over 5 times now. I can't say that any of the 5+ experiences have earned more than a 1 star (maybe 2 at best) rating. Tonight will be the final time we order from Bobo's and here is what drove the nail in the coffin for me: I called at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night for delivery. Young lady on the phone asked for my address to confirm it was in the delivery zone. After I gave it to her she asked if I could hold, she yelled "Do any of you live around here and know where XYZ Avenue is?!".. She picked the phone back up and began taking my order. My first item - A medium Nani's Pie, "NO PEPPERS". The young lady began rambling on about how 'they' have a new system and that it's horrible and she can't find anything. She finally figured it out and we were able to move on to the next item. Small Garden Salad, NO OLIVES. I waited for her to ask for my dressing choice as the staff normally does. Once I realized she wasn't going to ask me, I requested Italian dressing. Great. Moving on. Final item was a mild order of wings with a side of ranch dressing. Now we were in the home stretch. I gave her my card info. Cool. It's approved. Order gets here on time (good job, 1 star). We open the contents and discover that there is olives in the salad, peppers on the pizza and no sides of ranch.. Awesome! I decided to call to complain and hopefully solve the situation. The same young lady answers the phone. After I explain what the issues are, she audibly yells, "This lady is upset about her order. Can you please talk to her?" Man that she passes the phone to explains that he made my order and the ticket said "no jalapeños"... He offers to make us a new pizza, salad and send ranch. AWESOME! I was cool with that and was happy that they were going to right the wrongs. Fast forward to the order arriving. The garden salad HAS HARDLY ANY ACTUAL LETTUCE IN IT!! The poor excuse of lettuce that did manage to make its way in there was brown and discolored, like they gave me what was left before they closed up shop for the night. Am I being pranked right now? Unfortunately, I cannot remain a customer for this establishment. Even if I was ever forced to order from here again, the only menu item I would risk ordering is the cheese bread. *Mind you, that the side of marinara that comes with this item has been served cold 4/4 times. Started going here at least 5 years ago and was a 5 star pizza place. Now with the new ownership the bead is hard the meat balls taste strange and pizzas are made sloppy. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! We found this location on Yelp. So we decided to try them out. When I called and asked for delivery. Right away he said 1 hour and 30 minutes. So my roommate decided she would pick it up. He than stated 1 hour for pick up... Wow..i thought.. Maybe they are good!!! That's why it's so busy. So we chanced it. Biggest mistake!!!. We left home 1 hour and 10 minutes later. My roommate got there.. THEY STILL HAVEN'T MADE IT!!!!! they let her know it would be 10 more minutes. I should have told my roommate to leave!!!! This little family owned pizza shop is INCREDIBLE. We absolutely love their pizza and the customer service is top notch. Super friendly and super fast. Seriously fellow Yelpers! Thanks for letting us down again! Placed an order for carryout for their XL 2-Topping Yelp special for $10.99 with Pineapple & Cashew and we decided to order an additional Stromboli with Pepperoni & Italian Sausage. Both items looked okay upon first view but once we got them home and opened up, everything went down hill ridiculously quickly. Stromboli looked cooked enough with some nicely charred edges of dough on top; but one bite in and I was met with the nastiest gooiest mess I've ever beheld. The dough was far too undercooked and everything inside was a sloppy mess. Low quality cheese and cheap pepperoni started mixing with the undercooked dough resulting in a mushy paste that I wouldn't even feed to my dogs. The pizza was cooked okay. The crust had a little crisp but the bottom was rather limp. Again, same cheap cheese used and a forgettably bland sauce. Upon further review, cashews were too few and far between. We will not be returning. Cheap ingredients + poor execution = horrible disaster. Save your money, time, and stomach from this poor excuse for a pizzeria.
