If you're looking for a classic steakhouse experience that's not House of Prime, you should definitely consider Bobo's. Excellent food, good drinks, and friendly service. There's even a free parking garage next to the restaurant. I'd been to Bobo's a couple of times years ago and remember enjoying the bread service and the steak and crab combos. We did have one experience where the bone in filet was practically raw and too served too cold but that was years ago. I recently came again for a friend's birthday where we shared several apps, a couple of large porterhouses, sides, and desserts. Everything was so delicious that Bobo's is now back on my list of go to steakhouses in the Bay Area. My favorite apps were the crab and spinach fondue and the iron skillet seafood items. The porterhouse steak was so tender and had a nice crust on it. The quality of the steak would be difficult to replicate at home and one of the few places I'd be willing to shell out money for steak.

Enjoyed dinner on Friday night at Bobos. First of all, Bobos has parking available! We had a party of 10 and were seated looking out over cow hollow. Plenty of room and super comfy vibe. The surf and turf was amazing and a side of mac and cheese. Great service and great food. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Kitschy, but solid steak and sides place. We come here often to celebrate things for my partner as it's his favorite! Service is quick and it's fun to see the huge seafood platters come out and sizzle with sauce.

This was an exceptional find. We are staying overnight across the street and we're looking for dinner options. We decided on Bobo's and walked over. We were seated promptly and got a table upstairs in the window. Our service was excellent. The food was incredible! One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The bread service was unique but really tasty, the clam chowder is creamy and delicious with little croutons added. We split a bone-in rib eye and this steak was cooked to perfection. Our server also cut our steak for us tableside which was an unexpected but perfect option for us to share. A crisp crust and the meat melted in our mouths. We also order garlic mashed potatoes and their mac n cheese and both were delicious. I had a limoncello drop and it was just right. We also enjoyed the tiny Mexican Cokes in a bottle served over ice. We finished our meal with their crème brûlée and it was one of the best we've had. Everything about our meal was top notch, an absolute treat to find such a great restaurant in San Francisco. We can't wait to come back. There were a couple of birthday celebrations around us and they brought out some fun desserts. Thank you Bobo's for a memorable meal to our night out in SF!

This steakhouse had a joker theme. Very different. They have a bar area and private rooms for big parties! It felt cozy. Came with a group of 4 and we left so full and satisfied. We started off with the seafood platter. Came with shrimp, crab legs and mussels. It was delicious. For the steak we shared a porterhouse and tomahawk. We wanted to try a little bit of everything. It was cooked medium. Well seasoned. Don't need any sauce. I recommend the Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts for the sides. For dessert get the chocolate lava cake. The service was great. Everyone was nice and attentive. We had a rsvp for 6:30pm and was running a little late and they were able to move it to 7:15pm with no problems. There's a small parking garage downstairs.

Holy smokes... this place The hubs and I were celebrating his birthday and almost went to Morton's, but I saw this place had better reviews. I got the clam chowder (creamy and salty and hands down best clam chowder I've had) He got the tomahawk steak and we shared it. Incredible. Perfect. No complaints whatsoever. We'll both be dreaming about that for a while. The overall vibe of this place is so dope. It's like harlequinn theme and such a vibe! Great fast service, walked in for a reservation at 5:30 and we were out there by 6:30. It has its own parking garage right next to it. Overall: Vibe: 10/10 Food: 11/10 Parking: 10/10 Service: 10/10 If we are ever in the area again and looking to treat ourselves, we know where to go!

Wanting to try something new with a bunch of people who are getting old (including me), I made a reservation for a late weeknight dinner here on a Tuesday. Many of our group have not seen each other in twenty or more years so it definitely qualifies as a reunion meal. Never having dined here before, I remembered that valet parking was available here prior to March 2020. When confirming my reservation, I asked the young lady for parking advice and she told me that we were allowed to park in the motel spaces since they share the parking lot with the motel. After entering, the hostess brought us to the dining to the right, just behind her stand. After a short discussion, we reached a consensus that we'd each order our entree and share a few appetizers and sides family style. Here's what I tried: Appetizers, all shared 1. Iceberg Wedge salad (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=W_2Rlyb3NwA58uEr71ONEw) - "iceberg babies" with pancetta, Pt. Reye's bleu cheese dressing, and toy box tomatoes. Refreshing, crunchy, this deceivingly was enough for three people as a starter to share. 2. Bobo's style Bacon slab (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=EuwGTdCxUZaZxSF1xi1xbg) - Jack Daniels pineapple glaze w/red chilies, and chives. What's not to like about tender, melt in your mouth pork belly with a 70/30 meat to fat ratio. It is on the sweet side so the mashed potatoes under this balances the flavors. Sides, all shared 3. Maui onion ring (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=PF3M9JpDcU2oVWDRNWLZmg) - in beer batter w/sriracha aioli. Pretty self explanatory, I had three pieces though the aioli is on the mild side. 4. Portabello mushrooms (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=QBwqMBW8FUwwDVe4Rtgiyg) - capers, butter, lemon, white wine. Three or four bites were all I had so not much of an opinion on this. 5. Baked cream corn (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=j-A3GPLl5Fk5kMsbSMnwZw) - sweet corn, butter, cheese, and pangrattato. It was different with a crusty top and pretty thick in texture. 6. Loaded baked potato (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=ArzXPo3W9c2s-siBUIbAWA) - chives, four cheeses, and bacon. A friend added this as most of us were finishing our meals so I ate most of it with my unfinished steak pieces at home. Hearty, cheesy, and rich, the bacon mashed bits mashed well with the potato. Main: 7. Porterhouse, medium rare (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=ok2zU2eWzh2u7Lch7wKVEQ) - 34+ oz. when available. I guess there is a limited supply on a given night, this was my choice between this and the bone-in filet (touted as Bobo's pride and creation). This was visually impressive and equally portion and flavor wise, served on a literal cutting board and pre-sliced. It was closer to medium and medium well for the outside pieces, coming with a metal container of steak juices. I wish they offered a variety of steak sauces besides this and ketchup, an opinion shared by several fellow diners. My leftovers were actually more tasty when I reheated them at home a few days later. Dessert: 8. Chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=lxF8G_aXG32BeYmKDasOBw) - This was a nice finisher but beware that it is not a warm cake (not a souffle). Our waiter Danny and our server were both helpful and efficient in guiding us and making sure all empty plates were removed and glasses refilled or removed. There were two other tables of two occupied as we ate. From reading Cherylnn N's (https://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=eKUGKQRE-Ywi5dY55_zChg) ancient review (2010), there is an upstairs dining room too. The bar is attractive with an old school vibe. It's an old school type of place and solid for low key parties.

I went here the past Friday for the first time for my husband's birthday. The decor is jester themed but done tastefully. Our table had private curtains but was pretty small and hard to hold our food. We ordered the yellowtail carpaccio, porter house , brussels, mushrooms and a whole crab. My husband thoughroly enjoyed his food and so did I. My favorites in order were 1. and the steak with the delicious flavored sauce 2. Carpaccio and 3. the crab with the crab garlic butter. Their price point on the crab was fair as well which I appreciated! Service was a slow and they weren't very attentive at times (we had to ask to have our steak cut and for our food to be boxed up). They also ended up throwing away our mushrooms instead of boxing them up to our disappointment. The food and value carried, and overshadowed the slowness.

Steakhouse date night? What's not to love. Bobo's is a spot my family took me many moons ago, so coming back after almost 10 years, it felt a bit nostalgic. They're known for their bone-in filet which I knew I had to order. Before the main dish we started with a few appetizers. Iron-skillet shrimp: We shared a single order, which comes with around 14 shrimp on a hot sizzling iron skillet with tons of butter and garlic. It's a peel off situation, and damn I could've eaten more of these. Would 100% order again. Crab Cakes - these were tasty but not outta this world. $19.95 for two, it's not something I'd say I need to have but if the table wanted it, I'd eat it again. House bread ($3.50) - not a huge fan, ate a couple of a bites and we were done. I think if the bread was warm or slightly toasted I'd enjoy it more. For sides we tried the garlic mash, creamy spinach, and mac n cheese. All were really tasty, and nothing was left behind. The Mac n cheese was my favorite, it was hella cheesy, hella crispy, and with a little extra salt and pepper, I ended up eating more than I should have. For mains: the bone in filet was so tasty and cooked to a perfect medium rare. I'm usually a ribeye guy, but since they are known for the filet, I had to get it. The steak is served a la carte with no sauces or anything but the steak speaks for itself. The lobster was massive and tasty. It doesn't come with butter so we asked for a side which was a must. For drinks, the cocktails we got were delicious. The blood orange margarita was so tasty, and the q-ball was delightful, would order both again. We ended up spending $300+, so it's not a spot we'd come often but good for a once in a while type thing. If you are looking for the experience, but don't want to spend a ton, I think going for their $55 prefix menu is the way to go. You get your choice of a select appetizer, main, mashed potato, creamy spinach and a gelato, which is going to be filling. We got a reservation online for the private booth with curtain and it was a lovely experience overall for a fun dat night. We left full and happy. Shout out to our waiter Jose for amazing service!

Considering one of our leads at work didn't get this reserved TILL LATE! It was actually a great time! Bobo's is a small little place, but it's very homey and the bar is really cool! Our whole team really enjoyed our holiday dinner in the private room! We ordered clam chowder, crab cakes, porterhouses and some tomahawk steaks! Everything was great and even the drinks were good too. It's not the flashiest place but if you have a decently small team and you want a private room without all of the rif raf. Great place to go!

First off, I've lived in the SF area almost my whole life and I am shocked that I e never heard of this joint. The ambiance is super old school and they have a lil parking garage right under (free). We got an order of the mashed potatoes, garlic fries, and Maui onion rings. I went with the bone-in ribeye medium rare. All the sides were solid, nothing special. But that ribeye was a pretty good! I will have to come back and try some other cuts!

Tomahawk steak was a premium cut and super tender. The craft cocktails were spot on. The sides are average at best.

This is the weirdest restaurant I've ever been too in SF..... but the food was really good. We felt like we were eating inside a circus and most of the people there were kind of eclectic (I guess that's the only way I can describe them). Everything we ate was good but especially the steak.... We all agreed it could be some of the best steak we had ever tasted. The food here was just okay, could be better for the price. First we were given bread, which was spread with lots olive oil but nevertheless pretty good. The ny steak was a bit chewy. Also the filet mignon was burnt. . Plus, the sides were ridiculously expensive for such small portions. The mac & cheese was alright but i love the twice baked potato! The service was just okay, perhaps we weren't given the most attentive service because we looked young. read more

This place has the best steaks out of all the Bay Area place i have been to. I have been here 20+ times, and always ready to go back again at a moments notice. Lets start with the bread, I think it speaks to the attention to quality of this restaurant. It is just delicious, i'm not recommending you fill up on this, because the food is great but definitely have some to warm up your stomach, it's warm, butter, and soft, everything you want out of good bread. I have had the bone in filet, the new york, the bone in new york, pretty much every steak they serve (except for the petite filet, for obvious reasons). You honestly cannot go wrong with a steak here. Every steak manages to taste even better than i remembered from the last time, a feat not easily accomplished by most restaurants. To live up to your expectations and memories. A+ all the way. I used to only have steaks here for the longest time because this is a steak restaurant after all, but recently, i started trying out their seafood selection too, to my shock, it is also... great. I know i sound like a fan boy to this restaurant but everything here is just so good and flavorful. When i eat seafood here i usually go with the crab and mussel or crab and shrimp on a skillet. The mussels and shrimp are good, but it's really the crab that sets this place apart. I would highly recommend getting something with crab from the seafood menu if you are going to get seafood here. Remember to have the crab over a skillet, for reasons I don't understand, it tastes better over a skillet, maybe it's the way they prepare it as appose to when they prepare it in the surf and turf. This place is perfect for every occasion, night out with the guys, birthdays, dinner with the girlfriend, everyone i have brought here before loves this place. Never had anyone tell me this place was anything but excellent. read more

The decor feels quite different from the actual food. It's a little bit of class, a litte bit of indie (and some very strange questionable decor piece). We came here for dinner, and sat by the window, while it's raining outside. It was quite romantic (if it was for dinner 2). Every single dishes that I ordered was delicious. And by delicious, I mean there was nothing left by the time we stood up. Probably should leave some room for desert next time though. The filet mignon was juice, medium-cooked, and so tasty and tender It melt in your mouth. If you order the surf and turf, which I did, the crab legs was quite fresh, required a bit of work, but was well worth it. Definitely come again. read more

Went for valentines day and got a whole lotta food.. it was delicious.. best steak ever! I got the aged steak, sooooooo yummO! Muscles were delicious too.. cute quaint ambiance.. meat cooked just right! Moijito was good too.. service was OK.. not the greatest for the money u spend, but the food is worth every penny... twice baked potatoe sooo good, best ever!..the bread not my favorite, but i just dont like sourdough.... i totally want to go back.. $200+ for two people but worth every penny. read more

Bone in filet mignon! Seriously great flavor and when asked to be cooked medium rare, it was PERFECT. The onion rings and shrimp scampi we got for appetizer were just okay, nothing special. Service was nice, the place is a little dark and the seating feels a little weird and outdated. Next time I come back here, it will be the bone in filet & some potatoes. That's IT!!! read more

The gf and I both had steak! it is a great 1st date location and they charge only 15 bucks for corkage fee. Also the carpaccio yellowtail was very ...out of this world!! Steak was cooked perfectly med rare and the seasoning was spot on!! We kind of too chatty and were the last patron on the second floor and the waiter kindly let us know they were closing and was not rude about it!! oops!! I love the decor as its not to formal and easy place to get to know someone one!! read more

They are known for their steak. My colleague had nothing but good things to say about it. I enjoyed several of their apps, soup, and salad and loved all parts of the meal. The seating is close but it doesn't feel that way, perhaps the service is what brings this place above the rest. The waiter was attentive and answered any and all questions. Fabulous experience! Gerald Murphy took great care of us, and showed some guest we had in town true hospitality!! Bone in Filet perfectly prepared, and still in my opinion the best in SF. Service was spot on. Not overly baring, but attentive to our needs and to the fact we were there to enjoy a meal not just eat. The Bleu salad was on the next level with a generous portion of high quality crumbles and cubes of premium bacon. Twice baked potato, and sauteed brussel sprouts complemented the steaks greatly. To conclude the meal the chocolate mousse stuffed waffle cones with fresh raspberries was perfectly executed and portioned just right to please the entire table. Worth every penny, and love introducing out of town guest to the City's local legendary restaurants!!! read more

I picked Bobo's for my birthday dinner, and it definitely met our expectations. We tried to get a good sampling of the menu, but with just two of us we could only order so much! The only disappointment was the yellowtail tartare appetizer. The flavor of the fish was over-powered by the vinaigrette, so the whole plate was a bit boring. But the tomato salad appetizer was delicious, it was like a caprese and had the best, creamiest, mozzarella. I had a steak, and my bf had the surf n turf. My medium rare steak was cooked perfectly! The crab legs were the best I've had (although I don't order them often). We also had a side of brussel sprouts and pancetta, which was a great side. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place - as I went out with a group of friends, and I really enjoyed the eclectic atmosphere, great tasting steak (I had the filet mignon), and the sides. But that is a far cry from what one of my friends would say about this place. He ordered a medium-cooked filet mignon, and it came out very well done. He sent it back, and it came back almost raw. Needless to say, he didn't finish the steak - and the meal was comped. I will have to consider if I would come back or not. read more

The crab served on the iron skillet with the garlic butter is amazing. I am from the east coast and take my crab very seriously! This place was definitely up to par. Also had the 14oz bone in filet. Was slightly undercooked but unlike most places that overcook once sent back it came out perfect seconds later! Would definitely suggest this to a friend. Be prepared for the weird clown decor tho :/ read more

Bobo's was recommended to us by a native SF person. We went for dinner and were promptly seated. Very knowledgeable & polite waiter, who helped with suggestions. We wanted dessert so we split a meal and he didn't mind. Everything was spectacular. I love crab and my daughters have never eaten it where they had to actually crack the claws and get the crab meat out. It was a fun experience for them. ( a little messy, but still delicious) We had just enough food so that we could get dessert and it was all worth it. Our favorite was the mango panna cotta and the blood orange sorbet. The best we have had. Thanks to Bobo's for a memorable meal. We will return when we come back to the city. read more

This is one of my favorite steakhouses in the Bay Area. I've been here twice and had great service both times. My bone-in filet was cooked perfectly and cut through like butter. I would also recommend ordering the mussel appetizers to share. The decor freaked me out a bit the first time I came here (there are lots of clowns and medieval paintings up on the wall) but when the food came out, my focus is focused solely on the steak. I usually bring a wine bottle and just pay the corkage fee, but their wine selection is extensive. I'm very excited to be going back in a few weeks. read more

What an amazing steak! The filet on the bone was amazing with great flavor from the first bite. My husband thought the lobster (curry) bisque was amazing and said he would go back just for a bowl of that. The twice baked potato was delicious. The strawberry Italian style cheesecake light and yummy. The atmosphere is so "old world" supper club I expected Frank Sinatra to walk thru the velvet drapes. We will be back. From start to finish I could tell that the reviews were on point. Service was slow and food was overpriced and over hyped. Steak was rare when asked for medium, brussel sprouts were soggy with huge chunks of cheese sliced on top. To many great restaurants in SF to waste money here. read more

Went by on Friday night, and were happily surprised that they upgraded the bar glassware. Proper glasses for the whisky and other drinks, which makes our little local steakhouse even more unique. Halibut carpaccio to start, and we love the bone in filet! Ian, the bartender is always helpful and guided us to Zichichi Zinfandel by the glass or bottle. We heard they are the only restaurant with this wonderful N Block Zin from Dry Creek Valley. Great with the steaks! read more

Went here a while back and don't recommend it. Perhaps it was off day or something - It happens, anyway - Came with four friends and was disappointed with service, and food was OK. Appetizer was good, and the waiter recommended his last bottle of don't remember exactly what the wine was, but he said we were lucky we got that bottle. We paid around $150 for the bottle I think and then we looked it up online and it was available for $25 at BevMo. OK, so I'm not a wine connoisseur, but don't over embellish what you're recommending by that much. The steak: OK. We were still eating our appetizers and waiter got frustrated when he brought our steaks and we were still eating appetizers. When ordering, we asked him to bring the steaks AFTER we finished our appetizers because we were going to be there a while. That didn't happen and he got upset when we reminded him to bring them after we finished appetizers. We also walked outside the door on the second floor to check it out since it was open and waiter said we couldn't go out there even though the door was wide open and next to our table. To sum up, it's how you talk to people and if you get what you pay for right? Not here. Brush up on simple courtesy, intonation of your voice, and be real about what your serving and what people are getting for choosing your restaurant. Oh yeah, they charged us twice, over $530 dollars to the wrong cards. Classic over promise and way under deliver on food and service. Not worth the time or money. Why did i give them 2 stars only you ask? well let me explain Food: Apps are decent and the seafood comes in large portions salads are kind of small and pretty much the same thing. The steaks amazing buttery melts in your mouth good!! the sides are kinda crappy but with the big fat steak you dont even need them. Decor: Creepy , kinda dirty , nausiating... are things that come to mind i think i read somewhere that it resembled a reddish whorehouse dont remember where..... Table arrangement: Awful the only cool room to be in is the one right infront of the entrance all the other rooms have tables so close to each other that you can litterally steal food from someone else's table..... Service: Not good enough!! When going to a place like Bobos youd expect the servers to be knowledgeable about the menu/winelist... well the menu is pretty self explanatory but when it came to the winelist the server didnt really know her way around it (disappointing very disappointing) not only that but also not very attentive.... she checked only after the steaks arrived to the table and never really poured more wine or refilled our water..... but was very eager to drop the check and run credit card...... when we were still eating dessert. I seriously don't get what the fuss is about. I've heard great things about Bobo's, where people rave that it's their favorite steak house in SF, but my impression & meal seemed subpar. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday, and it was the most expensive meal we've ever had. Price aside, I didn't find the food that tasty either. I ordered the surf & turf (bone-in ribeye with crab), along with the mod mac and twice baked potato for sides. I usually order my steak medium rare, but when I got my plate, the steak seemed way too pink for my liking, and more on the rare side. I had to ask the waiter if this was correct, but apparently that's how they cook their steak. The steak was very soft, chewy, and also runny. The crab was good, because it's drenched in garlic butter. The mod mac was decent, but if you're only going to get one side, then I would recommend the twice baked potato. It's so good! Overall, I'd expect to have the best meal I ever had for the price I paid. The portion size is very filling, but the food itself wasn't to my liking. Yes, this place is pricy, but it was the best restaurant I went to in San Francisco! I found this steakhouse on my trust yelp app and decided to give it a shot. I've been disappointed in my restaurant selections from my app for the duration of my trip, but decided to give this place a shot since the BF and I were in the mood for a steak. This is not your typical steakhouse décor. It's about 3 floors but small... it has a mardi gras theme to it which was interesting. They are known for their bone in filet mignon which did not disappoint. I ordered the crab and shrimp combo and was pretty pleased with my selection. Just be careful, the shrimp's pretty hot off the cast iron plate that they serve it on and they leave the shell on the shrimp so it doesn't burn on the plate. They tout their bone in filet to be the best in SF and 3rd best in the country. We can't say this is the best in SF (since this was the only steakhouse we visited on this trip) but this a really good piece of meat. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

I recently went to Bobo's for dinner and was pleasantly surprised with the decor, food and service. A valet outside makes arrival easy, and there is a nice bar for a drink while you wait to be seated. We used Open Table to make our reservation, and we were seated right away. The hostess was professional and the table was set back from the main dining room, allowing for some privacy. We ordered the tuna carpaccio which was very good, but not as good as what was to follow. The bread was very tasty, topped with olives. My fiance and I shared the bone-in fillet, suggested by the waitress. We also ordered a side of brussel sprouts. BOTH WERE AMAZING. The fillet had TERRIFIC flavor and was a good size. The brussel sprouts had great taste and texture. I went out to Bobo's the other night for dinner, with a friend from out of town. I'm a vegetarian but, she loves steaks so I wanted to take her to the best place in San Francisco. We came in with no reservation and luckily we ended up being sat right by the window near the bar. The apple walnut salad was rather delightful. Then I had the sprouts (minus the pancetta) cauliflower and baked yams. Delish. My friend went silent while enjoying her bone in fillet. The only problem we had was with our nonchalant server/manger... His lackadaisical candor with us caught us off guard. He then continued to displease us with his inconsiderate banter. However, the food and the rest of the experience was great. We will be back, and hopefully we won't have that rude tall boy serve us again. P.S. The campari blood orange sorbet is must! read more

So my review was taken down for some unknown reason but in a nutshell ill tell you what has happened to Bobos..... Went from a 5 star restaurant in my book to a 1 star place in 2 and 1/2 hours and all because of the crappy service. Ive been a regular costumer for a long time and its always been awesome but the last time i was there Michelle was our server and it was an awful experence. she was nice alright but no experience or knowledge of wine or food service whatsoever its made me feel uncomfortable there was no table maintanance it just felt like i was at a Wendys and i ended up emailing the GM at Bobos and i still havent gotten a reply its been over a month..... anyway go for the steak not for the service and you should try to avoid Michelle as a server. read more

This is my favorite restaurant for a great piece of beef. Bone-in filet mignon that has been dry-aged for weeks is simply amazing. I go here as often as possible with out of town guests that enjoy beef and to catch up with bros I haven't seen in awhile. 0) Wine list is pretty darn good IMO. Lots of options, reasonable prices. 1) Side dishes are pretty awesome. I really like the brussel sprouts. The correct strategy is to share side dishes amongst all diners to get maximal variety. 2) There's also good seafood here too! I really like the sizzling platters, particular the mussels. Crab and shrimp can be a bit of a delicious pain in the ass to peel at the table live, so steer clear if you're trying to look fancy. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bobo's Steak House and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was outstanding. I'm so glad I finally discovered this gem of a restaurant! I had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The sides were all nicely seasoned and the portion sizes were generous. The staff were all attentive and friendly and really made me feel welcome. I will definitely be returning to Bobo's Steak House in the future. It is a great place to enjoy a high-quality steak dinner without breaking the bank. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere. read more

This is the first review I have ever written and I am an extremely easy-going and happy person and customer. With that said, I was unfortunately displeased with the service at Bobo's and due to the attitude of one hostess/employee, what could have been an inordinately pleasurable experience, turned sour. The host's name was Mindy and she was very nasty to my entirely family for literally no reason to the point that it was laughable. She made mean comments to my mom and rushed us to be seated right when we arrived, even though we arrived 40 minutes early to enjoy a drink at the bar. I could say more but what's the point. Food and drinks were good and we maintained a positive attitude for the duration of the meal. read more

I'm not really into steaks, but I think Bobo's is one of the few steak places that I don't mind going back to occasionally (the others being Ruth's Chris and David Burke's in Chicago, IL). Great appetizer selection and the steaks are tasty. Usually I'm too full to ever enjoy the dessert so can't say much there. I know my BF loves this place and watching him eat his steak and enjoy it like nothing else is a treat for myself. The thing I don't like about the place is its setting - a bit too cheesy for my taste and unnecessarily dark. I wonder if it's this dark so that we don't notice any of the imperfections of their food. Who knows ... regardless of this minor complaint, can't complain about the food or service. read more

Wow! The bone in filet at Bobo's is the best steak I have ever had anywhere and I am a steak lover who has had some amazing cuts of beef all over the country. In SF - Harris', Bob's, Morton's are all good but Bobo's has them beat. My steak loving friend Tim claims that Peter Lugar's in Brooklyn is a bit better but agrees that the little place on Lombard St. (of all places) is the best 'round these parts. They age their beef a little longer than most places and sear in a cast iron skillet that gives a crust that delivers some huge flavor. Bobo's gets a bit loud but is great for a small group. The twice baked potato, onion rings and mac 'n cheese are also very good but The Steak as they call it deserves the CAPS! read more

A wonderful restaurant with a truly warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior design is beautiful and thoughtfully done, creating a space where you instantly feel comfortable. The staff are exceptional - attentive, professional, and genuinely polite, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Soft, relaxing background music adds a perfect finishing touch. The food is absolutely outstanding - every dish is prepared with great care, and the bar offers an excellent selection of drinks. Bobo's is such a vibe. The space itself is decorated in a fun, funky, eclectic way that instantly sets the tone for a great night. At the bar, I couldn't decide what to drink, so I just told the bartender the kinds of liquors I like and bam, he whipped up something absolutely delicious. Spot on. Dinner was amazing. We were a group of four adult men and went all in with a tomahawk steak, three appetizers, and four sides. Everything came out perfectly cooked and full of flavor. No misses at all. The wine and cocktails were just as impressive, well made, balanced, and easy to enjoy all night. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. Highly recommend. read more

My friend has been telling me about this place forever so finally we got a group together & went . We had reservation for 6 but there ended up being 10 of us ...a dick move on our part but they did a great job in working out a table for us .Enough of my rambling , Whole crab tasted like it was massaged by garlic butter & rainbows just amazing . Then the bone in filet came........................MY god that was a large sized filet cooked to perfection full of flavor possible the best steak I've ever had . I love this restaurant! The highlight of my meal was the bone-in filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. My only issue with it has been that every time I've been there, I've been seated next to a large group that has been so loud I could barely have a conversation with my dinnermates. But that could have probably been easily solved if I mentioned it to the host/server. Service has been great too. Very friendly, timing is good, and I like knowing my server is around without cutting into my conversation too often. So overall, it's definitely one of my favorite SF spots. After going to bobos again to get their bone in filet and half crab meal, I am now pretty disappointed with their food. My filet was overcooked and over charred. I don't think it's supposed to look all black on the top of the filet. I mean a little char is ok but they overdid it. Their bread was also different and not as good. It was dry and very hard. It barely had any garlic flavor. The waiter barely came by because there was a big table in the same room as us and he kept helping them instead of checking up on us. read more

Once inside the restaurant, the first thing you'll notice is a piano player in the bar area and you'll pass the main dining area and private dining room as you walk deeper into the restaurant. On a Thursday night around 6pm, roughly half the tables were filled, though I am unsure if the empty tables were held for reservations or available for walk ins. Despite the piano player, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet considering the diners had conversations at their respective tables. I started off my meal with the hand cut beef tartare. I really liked this starter since it wasn't just a slab of finely cut raw meat; black truffle vinaigrette and salt cured egg yolk was mixed in to add flavor and texture, making it resemble Hawaiian poke in a sense. It also came with a slice of what seemed to be an elevated garlic bread which came out warm. For my main course I had an 8 oz filet mignon with black truffle bordelaise, cooked medium rare. Prior to receiving my steak, the waiter came to the table with a selection of steak knives. My medium rare seemed closer to a rare but I still enjoyed my filet. Sides for the table included black truffle mac and cheese, crispy Brussels sprouts, and Vault fries. The mac and cheese was nice and creamy, the Brussels sprouts had the perfect crunch and flavor, and the fries had a nice crunch and tasted like they were fried in duck fat or something similar. For dessert I had their Ghirardelli chocolate-espresso budino featuring brownie, creme chantilly, and candied nuts. This was probably my least favorite course since it seemed like a chocolate dessert a kid could've put together, but still tasted good. To drink I had the Board of Relief and Across Two Barrels and both were very good. Overall, I was very satisfied with my dinner at The Vault and believe it was worth the trip from out of the area. This was my first visit to The Vault and now I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Everything was cooked perfectly!! I was hesitant with the scallops because it came with creamed spinach and a Cajun aioli- Chef, I'm sorry I doubted you!! One of the best scallop dishes I have ever had!! We also had the scalloped potatoes and those were quite literally the best I've yet to have at a restaurant. Service was great and they had live jazz while we were there. We will be back!!

The person taking my order didn't say yes or no or give me any indication of how long it would take, which was frustrating when I had clearly explained I was on a time crunch. I understand that restaurants can't always accommodate modifications, but the lack of vegetarian choices, flexibility, and clear communication made this a pretty disappointing experience.

They are all great and it does not matter which one you get. It will be cooked perfectly and be the best steak. They also have oysters we love and a couple of great fish entrees. The service is perfect. They are patient and the entire staff is there to assist you. They are just so kind.

Now you can find a steak in almost any neighborhood in SF. When it comes to steak the best advice is to get at the butchers. This place has lots of different types of beef available and it's called the Blind Butcher in SF. On a Fall stroll on 18th street I landed at the Blind Butcher. I do enjoy the traditional American steak houses but it seems some you will have to dress up in a three piece suit just to dine in. Blind Butcher is more of a casual steakhouse where you will see people wearing tie dye shirts and others just wearing casual wear dinning in. Inside is a bit dim and has a bar and some seating. I started off with the lollipop lambs which came with cherry tomatoes and they were delicious and not gamey and so tender. If you had a blind test you wouldn't know it was lamb and would guess more likely it would have been beef steak. Then I got the Truffle Lobster Mac & Cheese and it was so cheesy like some on my social media feed in SF. It was tasty and a little rich. The main star of the meal was the filet mignon. It was juicy and so soft and it had so much flavor. I then washed it down with glasses of Balletto Pinot Noir and Lillie's Pinot Noir on repeat for Don Juan Pinot Noir. Give Blind Butcher a taste test in SF. Take a stroll this Fall in SF on the street of "Eighteenth" to a place to relax and get some "relief " then grab some Pinot Noir served with some good cuts of American "beef" in an atmosphere with a classic and modern "motif" It's a good place to make a pit "stop"where they sell good "pork loin chop" along and tasty filet mignon and "lamb lollipop"and it's called the Blind Butcher because has the meats like a "Butcher Shop"

It came loaded with prime ribeye, filet mignon, rack of lamb, crispy calamari, lobster truffle mac & cheese, butcher's potatoes, creamy octopus, mushrooms, and toasted ciabatta. Everything was so on point. Every bite was delicious and the board was definitely the star of the meal. The drinks were good, but I wouldn't say they were the highlight. We started with an espresso martini made with mezcal instead of vodka. I was intrigued, so of course I had to try it. It was good, but I'm still a fan of the traditional espresso martini. We also had a Lavender Lemon Drop, along with two signature cocktails, The Castro and Lavencine. The Lavencine was easily the best drink of the night. Overall, this was one of the best dinners I've had in a while. Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to. One tip: give yourself some extra time to find parking.

For food, we shared the Coconut Shrimp, Savory Fries and Calamari. All the food was pretty good and I could see us coming back to try other items on the menu based off that. Overall, staff were friendly and food came out fast! My only complaint was the drink which is obviously a personal preference. Check them out!
