This was hands down the best steak that I have ever had. I agree about the bread, it was soaked in olive oil. I only wish that I could have gotten the full-sized filet. It really melts in your mouth. I was lured into the Mac and cheese but I would choose something else next time. So just went for my next time and it was absolutely amazing. The first time was no fluke. The bread was not as oily this time and insanely good. We also had the cauliflour and the mushroom sides; they were fantastic. Also, for dessert, try the rasberry panne cotta. Last night my mom, step-dad, and I had a great meal: Crab fettecine alfredo Hawaiian Sun Fish with sides of mac & cheese and yams Amazingly, stepdad did not order steak. He thoroughly enjoyed the crab alfredo but thought it a little under seasoned. I had a portion of his to try and found that it was not underseasoned but light and creamy, puntuated with scallions, to let the crab come through. The Hawaiian Sun fish was accompanied by seaweed that was cooked or dressed in soy, rice wine vinegar, and sesame oil. The sides of mac & cheese (mild white cheeses and mine was made better by the addition of cracked black pepper) and the yams were big hits with mom & I. Especially the yams; they were lightly sweetened but I couldn't recognize with what. We should have gotten two orders. We ooh-aahed, licked our fingers, but we didn't eat the half loaf of the home-made bread they gave us. We wanted to save room for the dessert: Kir Royale-Champagne Chambord sorbet in a waffle nest. Bobquivari's was suggested by desk clerk at the parent's hotel, the Lombard Motor Inn. They were happy because it was directly across the street. No urban hiking, or expensive cab taking, necessary. read more

Great place to go for steak and crab. No complaints about the food here. I usually start with one of the iron skillets that they have available. Good stuff. The filet Mignon is excellent. The Bobo's style porterhouse is great for two people to share. I usually get the twice baked potato which is delicious. The crabs are good but I have to be in the mood to crack them. The place is on the small side. The bar area is really congested especially if your sitting by the front window. The waiting staff was pretty good but they looked annoy with the rather small space to maneuver. I will definitely be back. read more

Burrata was to die for...I've eaten her quite a few times and haven't tried this app until this past weekend, I will go back within the next 5 days to get it again! This is a fantastic steak house in the Marina. The decor is rather funky and has the look of someplace out of New Orleans, but the food is top notch. I recommend the Bone-in Filet and the Mac N' Cheese. Only knock would be the lack of a rib eye on the menu. Bread is delicious too. read more

I'd give this place 3.5 stars. First off, they offer FREE VALET parking! This place is super cute and the food is really good too! Once you walk in, you are greeted with the most amazing scent of garlic perfuming the air. The decor is really inviting and the staff was attentive and friendly. I was excited to try their bread that everyone was raving about, but it didn't taste as great as I had anticipated. We ordered the shrimp as an appetizer and they were SO good! They came on this sizzling skillet with this garlicky butter sauce. For our main course, I got the bone in New York strip with the twice baked potato. The steak was amazing and cooked to perfection! The potato on the other hand was kind gross. Whatever cheese they put in it, maybe some kind of bleu cheese, gave it a pungent smell and flavor that I didn't like. My boyfriend got the whole dungeness crab and cauliflower as a side. It was HUGE and it too was exceptionally delicious. Again, like my side, the cauliflower was a let down. Although the sides are mediocre, Bobo's is a great place to eat with amazing food, service and ambiance. read more

I love this place. Yes, the menu is limited, but the steak is the best you will find in the city - particularly the bone-in filet mignon. In fact, I have NEVER in my life had a better steak than the bone-in filet. If I come across some extra money, I go straight to Bobo's. We thought we would give Bobo's a try after falling in love with the Dead Fish in Crockett. This was by far the best steak we have ever had. The service was nice and our server was very pleasant. The restaurant is dimly lit, a lot of wood details, very quaint, very romantic. The restaurant is smaller and the booths for 2 can be quite a squeeze, but it was well worth it to have such a wonderful and memorable meal. read more

I can't believe I haven't written about my favorite steak restaurant in SF. My husband and I have been coming here for the last 7 years whenever we want to satisfy our steak and seafood craving. We don't come here as often as we'd like so we always end up ordering the same thing: -Crab cakes - oh so yummy and full of crab meat and topped with dried cranberries. Usually when I order crab cakes elsewhere, it comes with a sauce. These scrumptious cakes have no sauce but the pairing with the cranberries is surprisingly delicious! -Double shrimp double crab - comes out on a sizzling skillet with 2 different types of butter -Filet mignon-bone medium rare - the meat is so tender and melts in your mouth! We split one since the portion is fairly large -Swiss chard - cuz you know, you have to have veggies The only thing we don't like is that the portions for the shrimp in the "double shrimp double crab" have steadily decreased over the years and they started using smaller shrimp. Nonetheless, that platter is still one of my favorite parts of coming here. The service is usually great (with the exception of the last time we came here for my husband's birthday on Thursday). They implemented an electronic order pad and it took the waitress a little longer than usual to get our orders vs writing it down the old fashioned way. One of these days we're gonna venture out and try other things on the menu...it's about time after 7 years of coming here! Can't wait for our next visit! read more

We were at Bobo's on Saturday night. Made the reservation on Open Table a few days in advance. We were looking soooooooo forward to eating at this steak house, however we were dissapointed. For one, had to wait for one half hour to be seated. Two, I ordered the petit filet and it was SO SMALL! Myhusband ordered the porterhouse, and what a dissapointment! He was telling all his friends how big this thing was and how it was prepared and cooked... I was teasing him about how I didn't believe it was going to finish it... well, he ordered it, it arrived and all four of us just looked at it. It was flat, yes it was cut in two, but did not at all look like the picture. Very small. I mean for $70.00! Totally NOT worth that price for sure! My petit filet looked like a mashed hamburger! Kids meal size if that! What I will say is the flavor of both steaks was good... but the size and portion was a joke. I felt like we were "ripped off!" The couple we were with, were happy with their steaks, bone in filet.. but with our two steaks being so small and "not like the picture" and expensive, it put a damper on our entire dining experience. We brought a bottle of wine and the corkage fee is $15.00. Our waiter said we wouldn't have to pay because we had waited so long for our table. All in all... would I go back again? No. It was OK. Maybe I would sit at the bar and have a drink ... maybe.... Based on our experience here that evening for all four of us, we decided we would NOT reccomend this place. It's OK. But we were VERY dissapointed. Money is too hard to earn these days and for a steak that is 70.00 and one that is 30.00 that looks like a kids meal.... I expect more! Totally not worth it. I would go to Izzy's anyday. We just wanted to try something other than the Ruth Chris, Morton's, Harris experience. So we strayed from the norm.... and now we know. read more

This place has strange decor and decent food. My co-workers raved about it. They said that despite it's location on Lombard, it was not a tourist trap and was a great place for steak. We ordered the steak and crab. We found it fine, but not great. When I told my co-workers about our decent experience, they said we should have ordered the bone-in fillet. Not a bad place to eat in the Marina. They have free valet parking which is great since parking out there is notoriously bad. There is a bar waiting area when you first walk in which is nice. Bartender that night wasn't very good. They have several floors of seating with window views. The bone-in filet seems to be the winner there, unfortunately I got the petite filet and the fish, which both were ok. Service is ok, they don't add gratuity on the check even though we had a party of 8. I'd come back and only order the bone-in filet next time. read more

My bf and I went here for our anniversary. Complimentary valet and they greeted us happy anniversary when we walked in which I thought was a nice touch to our evening. Great/friendly customer service. We ate the garlic bread with yellowtail carpaccio as appetizer. Then Swiss chard and portobello mushrooms with bone in filet mignon (salivating right now). It was the best filet mignon I've had. Soft, juicy and so tasty with simple ingredients. Effortless to chew to say the least. We also ordered red wine, merlot peju. I've been to Bobo's a total of three times and I don't know why I didn't write a review sooner. The atmosphere is very interesting, the room being mainly red and dim with images of jesters and whatnot, basically reminding me of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. It's probably best to make a reservation, although a friend and I did manage to get seats at the bar right away without a reservation. Get seats towards the front side of the restaurant where there are windows. The ones in the back are rather stuffy and too dim, I didn't like it at all. Anyway, I've tried several different plates at Bobo's. I have tried a steak from here once, but considering it was a while back, I don't want to give an inaccurate description of it so I won't critique it in this review. However, in all honesty, the Iron-skillet Roasted entrees are really what you should be coming here for, despite the rave about the steaks. (I base this off the fact that the steak doesn't seem to be particularly memorable.) I've ordered the combination orders of Mussels & Shrimp, and also Mussels & Crab; point is, get the mussels, it's amazing; shrimp and crab are good as well. It comes out sizzling on a huge skillet and the portion for the combination orders are perfect for two, maybe with a side. They pour some sort of buttery, white wine (?) sauce right when it comes out and it is sizzling, drooling, delicious awesomeness. Their steak tartare (called Filet al Crudo) is a good choice for an appetizer, tasty as a steak tartare should be, sorry I don't know how else to explain it; if you like raw beef just get it. I've also ordered a side of brussels sprouts with pancetta, which were a bit soggy for my tastes but not bad in flavor and of a decent portion; however, personally I think it's a bit overpriced for just brussels sprouts. Lastly don't forget the best "free" bread you'll ever get ever. They bake a fresh loaf of garlic bread to come with your order, with chunks of caramelized garlic on the crunchy top and a soft middle. The ONLY reason they don't get 5 stars is the fact that they do not have Kobe Wagyu beef on the menu. That said, this may be the best steakhouse in San Francisco without Wagyu. The service is impeccable, food prepared correctly and delivered in a timely manner. The roasted seafood platters are unbelievable and I don't remember ever having anything like it anywhere. I love Brussel sprouts and they have it right. Meat is prime, aged and cooked perfectly. We were here last week in a party of six. We ordered 49oz porterhouse, a bone in ribeyes and super bone in filet to share with few appetizers, salads and side orders etc. we were too full at the end because we didnt know the steaks were so big. We thought bone-in "must be" coming with a big bone but the truth is opposite. I would say besides steaks all others were just average. I didnt go to steak house for a while because i was disappointed by a few other famous steakhouse.
