The Blind Butcher.. Man, this place is a must when visiting San Francisco. Parking can be a little intimidating, but it's worth driving around until you find a spot. The restaurant ambiance is nice -- reddish tones with the lights dimmed a bit, giving it a really good vibe. It gets very busy, so I definitely recommend making a reservation to secure a seat. As for the food... the 16oz prime ribeye steak was $76 and worth every penny. Huge portion and definitely shareable. So I came here on a Memorial Day night. I've been here a few times before but tonight was very loud, almost as if it was a club atmosphere. Besides that the people here are friendly and my waiter was super nice and attentive to us and always came to our table with a huge smile (thank you to you). I had the rib eye steak and as usual it was a nice tasty steak with enough fat on it to make it juicer and hearty. I had it med. Rare so it was super juicy and tender. I finally checked out Blind Butcher after seeing it all over TikTok and hearing so many good things. The ambiance is nice, dim lighting, cozy, and perfect for a night out. I ordered the 16 oz prime ribeye which was cooked well with a nice sear and good seasoning. It was tender and flavorful, and overall a solid steak. I also tried the lobster truffle mac and cheese which was good but didn't stand out as much as I expected. The Caesar salad was actually really great fresh, well-balanced and one of my favorite parts of the meal. The highlight for me was the Butcher's Old Fashioned super well-balanced and easily my favorite thing I had. Service was alright friendly and smooth overall just not especially standout. I've walked by this place for years and finally recently dined here. From the low quality food to poor service, my overall experience was a complete disappointment! For two people, we ordered the grilled prosciutto burrata, 16oz prime ribeye steak, and brussels sprouts. The grilled prosciutto burrata was disgusting, and we struggled to finish it. The prosciutto tasted like a drier and worse version of a piece of overcooked bacon. The burrata was low quality - dry and lacked flavor. The dish was drenched in dressings that didn't complement the ingredients. The ribeye was cooked alright but lacked flavor (and this is coming from someone who prefers less salty foods). For a restaurant that's supposedly known for steak, I was disappointed because I could've made a better steak myself. The cut of steak was low quality too, and some parts were difficult to chew. I would've expected a more tender piece of steak. The bathroom was a bit of a disaster too. The toilet seat wasn't even nailed into the toilet! I almost fell off while using it. Service was inattentive and bizarre. At the end of the meal, the server asked if we wanted another round of drinks even after we had already kindly asked for the bill twice. I came here this past Saturday right at opening and I have to say I'm very pleased with Blind Butcher. We just walked in, so we didn't get the best seating and got sat at a two person high top. It was a bit squishy and it is very toasty inside, but no complaints. It's cute for a date night or celebration with friends. The staff was so kind and accommodating. Our 'server' soured the whole experience unfortunately. They didn't check in or even ask us how anything was until I had to ask for more water (our meal was pretty much finished). Having to ask for more water while hearing them provide refills and check ins with his other 2 tops validated that he was being selective with his service so there's that. You'd think at a higher end / priced establishment your server would check in once at least when the food comes in but they didn't even feel like doing that. My partner's Espresso Martini was 5/5 while my Zinfandel was just fine. Can't knock a wine choice since it's never really the wines fault when paired slightly off. Food was good except for the Potatoes, ~$1.50 per baby potato with ingredients that are just about the same as home made. The Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Wagyu Burger + Truffle Fries worth the price point since it tasted great. Still tipped 15% cause our food runner / busser boxed up our food for us and the door host that sat us helped feel like it was only our server that was having a bad shift / not in the mood for people that might not have looked like their usual customer base. My fiancé saw this restauraunt on tik tok and decided to give it a try! The picture of the blind board speaks for itself. Came here for a reservation around 5:15 pm for my girlfriend. It was an anniversary dinner for us! The place is dimmed but the have table lamps which is so cute. Great date night spot. We got 2 cocktails, we don't like the taste of alcohol, I got the espresso martini, tasted great at first then the more I drank it the alcohol seeped in more and more so we couldn't finish it. The host was nice and let us know it would be a 5-10 mins wait. We got a booth in the back 20 mins later. The restaurant is very loud and dark with dim lighting. I really want to like this space, and so I will start with the positive bits. I've been here three times for meals at the bar. The bartenders have always been friendly and attentive, and the drinks were excellent. Unfortunately, the bartenders seem beholden to a kitchen that ranges from inconsistent to incompetent. The first visit I had braised short ribs that came out instantly, and were a bit tough for having presumably stewed so long, but were okay. The second visit I had a rack of lamb, ordered medium rare, that somehow managed to be totally raw on one end and cooked to jerky on the other. I guess it was medium rare on average (?). There was a tiramisu for dessert that was overly sickly sweet and liquefying on the plate. If you come here, you absolutely need to order the Slow Braised Short Rib and the Lobster Mac & Cheese, these two dishes are to die for. The short rib is incredibly tender and packed with flavor, sitting on a bed of super smooth mashed potatoes. The sauce from the short rib pairs perfectly with the mash, making each bite even better. As for the lobster mac & cheese, they serve generous chunks of lobster, and the mac and cheese itself is rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Wow, I couldn't believe the number of low star ratings... On a whim, we were in the city and decided to finally try Blind Butcher, since it's been on our list for a while. They didn't have anything available online, but I called and was able to snag a table for 5. We started with a bottle of sparkling rosé, oysters, baked goat cheese, wagyu meatballs, lamb lollipops, creamy mushrooms, lobster mac and cheese, and burgers. The two standouts? The burger and the lamb lollipops. The lamb was so good, we ordered a second round. Our least favorite was the lobster mac and cheese. For the price, I was expecting big chunks of lobster and gooey, cheesy richness, but it fell short with small bits of lobster and not enough cheese. The baked goat cheese was fine, but not a standout. Everything else was solid, not mind-blowing, but definitely not bad. For dessert, we had the Coppa 3 Cioccolati. The short rib was tender fall off the bone. The lamb was charred on the outside, juicy on the inside. And the lobster Mac had lobster in almost every bite. I've finally brought my husband here to try it out. I promised him that it will be worth the try. We called ahead for a table and were seated right away when we got there. I told my husband that I haven't tasted anything bad here and was craving a steak so I wanted to get the rib eye again like I did prior.
