Bob's was exceptional on every level. Greg and Peter did the initial inspection and prepared the estimate. They patiently walked me through the process and answered all my questions without any high pressure tactics. They thought through ways for me to save money without compromising efficiency. Their estimate was significantly less than those of other companies I contacted. I truthfully cannot say enough about the installation crew of Cody and Brian. This was a four-day job and throughout Cody and Brian were communicative, courteous, efficient and very knowledgeable about optimum installation methods. They cleaned up at the end of each day and took every precaution to prevent any damage to walls, etc., during installation of heavy and awkward water heaters and furnaces on both the main and second levels. Then, Peter and his crew from Bob's sister electrical company, Washington Energy Services, like the Bob's crew, went above-and-beyond. Peter spent a lot of time analyzing the situation to come up with the most efficient, cost effective and least intrusive methods to update the wiring to accommodate the new equipment. Terrible company. Had a technician come out to diagnose why our cold air return was blowing cold air, but they could not provide any solution or any reason whatsoever. Paid a $175 fee for them to come out and tell me nothing but a load of crap. They were the ones who put the furnace in the house but cannot stand by their work. If there was a negative star, Bobs would be the winner. Bob's Heating also owns Bob's Smart Home, except there is NOTHING smart about it or their service crew. Let's start from the beginning. They forgot to finish setting up the service. We paid $8000 for the lowest-end package, and they FORGOT to finish the job! Their front office gal, Shannon, argued for days over whose fault it was--ridiculous service. We finally got them out to finish setting up the lights and thermostat, 1 month after we had moved in. Next issue. They didn't label all the Ethernet cords, nor did they test the lines. We had to call them back out to finish THAT job as well. Here is the biggest laugh.. we realized that they labeled two cords as 4th bedroom. We don't have four bedrooms, so guess what.. they have to come back out yet again, finish the job a monkey could do. Now.. the next issue. We had a power outage. When the lights came back on, none of ours worked. We tried to reset the unit, but received an error message that the server was down on the Bob's Smart Home side. They obviously do not have any indicators on their end to indicate when one of their clients has NO POWER. INSANE!!! Last issue. They didn't set the temp on our hot water tank correctly, so we have 90-degree water only 30 feet from the tank. This isn't hot enough to wash dishes. The upstairs shower is always cold. read more

Called in Bob's to diagnose an issue with the HVAC (on 2nd level) dripping water into the ceiling of the 1st floor. I called Green Bear at first and they came in, glued a condenser pipe together, but that did not fix the water dripping issue. But they still billed me $300. Bob's sent 2 technicians out and fixed the issue. They also noticed that the furnace filter was not the right size and replaced it for the cost of a filter (not much higher than what I can get from Home Depot) Total cost was $175+the cost of filter. No additional 'by the hour' bs. They were the initial installers of the HVAC and it had been working fine for 12 years. read more

We purchased a brand-new construction home in 2017, and this company installed the furnace. From the very beginning, the furnace has never worked properly and has left our family without heat on multiple occasions. They have come out to our home multiple times over the years. Despite repeated service calls, the furnace continues to fail. As of now, we have been without heat for two days. When we called the company today, Penny told us they are closed until Monday and that if we want a technician to come out today, it would cost $399, despite this being an ongoing issue since the furnace was installed. The representative we spoke with, Penny, was rude, dismissive, and showed no concern for the ongoing safety issue, and insisted the problem had already been fixed despite our repeated service calls." I called Bob's this morning after discovering that my dryer vent was leaking and depositing lint into the laundry room. The scheduler on the phone line listen to my request and said hold a minute while i check the schedule and came back and said we can see you today between 9-12 and the tech will call you. Sure enough he showed up and in a matter of of few minutes he had it repaired. This was outstanding service and i would highly reccomend Bob's. read more

Bob's technicians came out to install a new water heater, central air conditioner and all the duct work required. I couldn't have been happier with the service and work I received from Bob's technicians. Three guys and a manager (Dan), came on time, made zero mess, were friendly, extremely cost-effective, experts in the work they completed, and very professional. I assumed they would need to shut the electricity or water off to work. However, I was never adversely impacted and the electricity and hot water was available whenever I or my pet bird needed it. They wasted zero time and were able to complete the job ++ in less than two days. Although I had considered booking a hotel room, I NEVER FELT ANY DISRUPTION WITH THEM WORKING THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE AND GARAGE. They were also super careful about keeping my door closed between the garage and the house and not tracking in even minimal dirt. They laid drop cloths and constantly cleaned up after themselves. I was most surprised that even though the replacement water heater was a totally different size and model, they were able to create new ductwork and exhaust "y piping" from scratch to fit the new water heater for absolutely minimal cost. I was also surprised how fancy and secure the slab was for the air conditioning unit. They even installed a plug at the unit so that when it was serviced in the future, the maintenance person would have a convenient plug on hand. Really expensive and do not comply with customer priority and satisfaction. Diagnosis took like 5-10 mins to confirm on a faulty motor (for which I paid $159 + taxes) and when promised of discount on the installation/labor charge of $375+ taxes , they came up with some maintenance cope up tactics to not give the discount promised. They are taking almost a week to get the new motor parts, which I think they already have it. I will have to wait on what $375 + taxes will look like when they are mentioning it will take 2 hours for the installation of the faulty part, this week. Also, the new climate control unit (new home built) still has the 10 year warranty from Bobs heating and has been just 2 years old. read more

Everything from scheduling to the actual service appointment was great! I called on a Wednesday for general ac maintenance on my mini split and got an appointment the next day. Ron and Jacob showed up on time and I had explained to them that in addition to the general maintenance, my mini split had started to leak indoors on cool mode. I had thought that it was due to a dirty/clogged drain pan or hose. During the maintenance, they diagnosed that the leak was due to the hose breaking off of the drain pan nipple. At this point, I'm thinking it's going to cost more than just the maintenance appointment I had originally scheduled. Low and behold, Ron and Jacob were able to MacGyver a solution using the existing parts without any additional charges! They tested it and leak solved! They did recommend that I change out the drain pan because it was a temporary solution, but I did not feel pressured at all. They carried on with the maintenance on my outside unit and even took the time to check my water heater filter to alert me that it's dirty and needed cleaning. They even saw something wrong with my neighbor's outside unit and recommended that I reach out to my neighbors to tell them. They gave me simple tips throughout the appointment on how to keep my unit running clean and efficiently. I'll be calling on them if I have any future issues with my AC unit going forward. read more

2023, Bob's Heating installed brand-new Bryant AC for $14K 2 years later, system began to fail due to slow refrigerant leak and found out it was manufacturer defect; not user error or neglect, but a fault in the equipment itself. When Bobs technicians came out, they fixed the issue but said we were going to be responsible for the bill. When we disputed this because technically it was a manufacturers defect they hesitated and agreed that anything Bryant doesn't reimburse them for, we had to pay. So now the burden is on us the CUSTOMER to absorb the cost of a brand they chose to use, install and represent. So the bill was nearly $1,800 in labor and who knows what else, to fix a problem WE had nothing to do with. 2 weeks prior when the leakage was first discovered their guys came out and added the leak detection dye, something we later learned should have been installed during the original setup but wasn't. We were charged almost $800 in labor for that visit also! We had to fight for a refund they never offered, and and only got partial refund for that. Makes me wonder if the dye had been installed in the first place we wouldn't have had to wait two additional weeks while the system continued to leak probably adding further damage and more labor costs that WE never should have been responsible for in the first place. Then the manager had the nerve to say they didn't see any reported issues from us within the first year (of their warranty) as if we were supposed to somehow know about a slow, invisible refrigerant leak, we're homeowners, not HVAC experts . I did some Google research on Bryant's own warranty and their terms: are * Registered systems typically come with a 10-year warranty * key components like the coil or compressor (which commonly cause refrigerant leaks), coverage is standard * Labor costs may also be reimbursable to the contractor under authorized service agreements So if Bob's Heating works directly with Bryant, why is the customer being on the hook for the charges instead of owning the process and standing behind their installation? Our Bottom Line: We paid top dollar for a system that failed in 2 years. We chose Bobs based on reviews but we got it wrong. We're now stuck with $1,800+ in charges. Bob's Heating chose the product, sold us on it, installed it, and now wants to offload the cost of its failure back onto us? That's not warranty support. That's deflection and a lack of accountability. If Bob's truly stands behind Bryant, they should advocate for us not position us to take the hit when something fails. If they don't make this right we will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

My furnace gave out on a Sunday, so no heat. On Monday, I called first thing in the morning and was surprised that I got an appointment for the same day at noon. Chuck arrived and diagnosed the problem - a blown motor and fan. He did not have the part on his truck because there are so many types/sizes available but he ordered the part while he was at my house. I received a call on Tuesday that the part had been delivered to their warehouse so they could install it on Wednesday. I was ecstatic. We were doing okay with space heaters but were expecting 25+ people for Christmas dinner the following Sunday, so having our entire house heated was a must. Steve arrived during the appointment window that Bob's provided for Wednesday and quickly installed the new blower motor. There was a little hiccup with the warranty coverage on the part but Steve worked with his manager to get that resolved before he left, so all I had to pay for was the labor. Both Chuck and Steve were true professionals and great to work with. I couldn't be happier with the high level of service they provided and would certainly recommend Bob's Heating & Air Conditioning based on my experience. read more

They came out to my house in 2018 & noted the problem, but again, still left the furnace exposed. Now my house is pending for sale & the appraiser called out the furnace as a problem, so we had to delay closing because of this 1 problem. So my realtor and I reached out for appt, Bob's technician came to the house & still couldn't get the cover on. We told them we've delayed an extra week so it is time sensitive... however, NO UPDATE from technician/manager after 6 DAYS after their visit. Not even "we're working on this, trying to figure it out... etc" - simply NO UPDATE. So I brought a DIFFERENT furnace contractor out who fixed this issue in one visit. First of all, we have been long time customers of Bob's. We started using their furnace service going back to 2013. We always had a good experience with them until our most recent A/C install. The positives - they are responsive, knowledgeable, professional, they seem to care. Therefore, it felt like an easy choice to go with Bob's for our A/C install. However, our recent A/C install was a cluster. There are 2 major things that happened, both of which I have been in communication with the company about and they have been receptive about, however one of the errors was incredibly dangerous! 1) First, the most severe incident - they did not follow proper procedures to ensure the gas line was connected to the furnace upon the completion of the install. Unfortunately we were not living at the house after install, and so when a property manager came by after 2 weeks, they smells gas and called PSE. PSE commented that the "line was barely connected to the furnace." This could have led to an incredibly dangerous outcome if anything had triggered a spark over the weeks no one was at the house! If we get a large bill from PSE due to the leaking of the gas - it's going to Bob's to pay! And that doesn't cover the scare that it could have been. 2) The other error that occurred, on the day of the install the electrical team accidentally drilled a hole that came into our dining room when they were feeding the wires through the crawl space to the unit outside. A manager did not call me back same day to resolve it, I ended up calling multiple times to get prompt attention. Initially I was told the fix would take 2+ weeks to get to, to which was not reasonable to our situation. Finally when a manager did call me back, we negotiated a different solution and that was resolved. Unfortunately after all of this, Bob's is no longer a company we feel comfortable working for our future needs. read more

The Quote: Bob's came out to do a consultation for AC installation back in May. Our home came "AC ready" so we essentially needed the unit outside and some fine tune installation tasks. The guy who came out to quote was super nice and we were able to take advantage of a small discount for the month of May. We scheduled the install and submitted a down payment. The Install: The two guys that showed up were on-time and super friendly. We were flexible in moving our vehicles so they had the most direct path to where they were working and as much room to maneuver as possible. Our furnace is in the attic, which for a June 2021 installation was horrible. The lead technician had to spend quite a bit of time up there getting the heat pump set up and whatnot and I guarantee it was at least 120 degrees up there. He was positive and quick about the entire process. Didn't complain once and did a solid job of keeping his work area clean, which I appreciate so very much. The second tech was outside digging a place for the ac pad and setting everything up from the exterior of the home. All was said and done within 3-4 hours and there was a field manager or supervisor that checked in on the process. I was very happy when they finished up and left. The Problem: Two days after the install the unit stopped working. I called on 7/4 and left a message expecting to hear back on Tuesday 7/6 after the holiday. Someone got back to be on 7/4 and scheduled someone to come out on 7/5 to diagnose the issue. The guy who came out was super nice, and after spending a bit of time in the attic and making a mess said the coil on the furnace was not installed correctly and it was missing the bracket. He did not fix it but said Bob's would be in touch. The debate was whether they were responsible or if the original furnace installer was responsible. 3 days later after calling to check in on what the decision would be someone called me back to say he would be back to fix the issue at no additional charge. I was grateful they stood behind the install and took the initiative to fix what I'm assuming they probably should have caught to be begin with but I honestly don't know. This company prioritizes speed over a job well done. We have been working with Bob's since we built our house nearly 30 years ago. Several years ago, we got a heat pump installed. It seemed to have annual repairs, and Bob's did a fine job at that, but then last year, the main board failed, and it was time to replace it. We got a bid from Bob's, but they no longer carried that manufacturer's products, so we got competitive bids. Bob's bid turned out to be competitive, but one of the other technicians checked the manual and advised us that the size of the inbound pipes was too small per the manufacturer's recommendations. It turned out that the problems we had faced (nearly annual repairs) resulted from this installation error - apparently, all other units use a different size than the unit installed, so it was not caught until this other tech reviewed it. We submitted the other tech's info to Bob's and asked them what they would do. Well, they agreed that they installed it improperly and REPLACED the unit WITHOUT cost to us! It was well out of warranty, but Bob's honored the quality of their installation and replaced the unit. While it took some time to get the right unit working properly, they installed two units before getting one that worked 100% of the time! All of this was done at no cost to us. Bob's and their represented manufacturers lost the cost of a new unit (2) and dozens of hours of labor. They honored their service and their commitment to customer satisfaction. Today, when the system's fuse failed, they came out right away, replaced the fuse, tested the system, and did this without charge to us. It is rare for a manufacturer and service company to stand behind their work beyond the warranty dates, but Bob's did, and we cannot recommend them enough. DO NOT USE! We don't recommend using Bob's heating at all costs. They installed a tankless gas water heater directly BELOW two bedroom windows and another opening to the laundry room so the exhaust and carbon monoxide vents into our children's bedroom windows! We provided them video. The bedroom windows have air intakes since the house does not have a/c to cool the home. The carbon monoxide from the exhaust gets sucked right into the home. Bobs heating refuses to make it right. They only care about the $$$$ not about health and safety. They refuse to return my calls. Now, we have to spend more money to hire a different company to come out to make it right. I will never use Bobs Heating and I encourage all my fellow counter parts in the construction industry to NOT use them either. Being, in the construction industry ourselves as material suppliers, we work closely with our contractors and builders on health and safety and would NEVER recommend a company that is wreck-less, money focused, and disregards health and safety. Be careful who you hire! So glad we learned this before our new home is built so that we steer clear of Bobs! I highly recommend Seatown and CM Heating. They both put customer service and safety first and have done work on our previous homes to install our tankless water heater as well as our heat pump and service work! Now, we have to call their teams to see who can make this right since Bobs refuses. What a headache and nightmare. read more

We took bobs heating maintenance plan. They seemed professional and reliable in the beginning. But the recent maintenance visit was really bad. They asked us to change a part in the water heating system. They charged 475 dollars for it. Later I realized that the same part costs 65 dollar max online. When I asked the customer service they said their manager will call me back on Monday. No one called me. Then I called them back on Friday. The manger said that we should have got the preferred rate and they will return 200 dollars . I said it's still way more than online price for the same part. He said it's because of labor cost. We are already paying for the maintenance package. I don't understand why am I paying extra for labor. It took like 15 mins for him to change that part. Later on I realized the part which was changed doesn't seem broken at all. It feels like bobs heating is trying to rip off . They don't feel reliable any more. They say we charge extra labor based on a chart from third party. It's not transparent which company or which chart. In 2013, I purchased a brand new furnace from Bob's Heating. Quite simply, what they installed was a poor quality product with defective parts. Rather than being concerned with the quality of product they install, they only care about making money from customers. Two years later, in December 2015, they came to "fix" the problem. However, by March of 2016, the gas valve was once again not working. After paying another $335, I called the manager being frustrated by installation errors causing disruption every year. I explained to him the situation and my growing frustration and asked for a credit for faulty product and service. He proceeded to get angry with me and blamed me for lack of regular maintenance. I stopped asking and hung up the phone. However, in October, 2019, I was once again left with no heat. I called Bob again to request service. The person who answered said they had a note in the system to refuse service to me for refusal to pay! I was refused service based on a lie. I then called Even Flo and the technician came and evaluated. The inducer mortar was now stuck. This cost me ANOTHER $270 and labor. I fixed but still not working. After yet another diagnosis, the gas valve is not opening. He said he now have to replace the gas valve. The same gas valve I replaced 2016 from Bob's Heating. No coincidence that his installed product continues to fail. Today, it was the mortar valve again, always something that has failed from Bob's services. Don't waste your time or money with Bob's Heating - poor service, poor quality product and poor work. read more

Called up Bobs for a service call for AC not working and got a quick appointment which was good and during the call they mentioned $159 + taxes just for the service call. The technician Chris who came home was super professional and identified the issue immediately and since my AC was installed by Bobs 2.5 years back, I was under warranty. Despite that I was charged $198 just for the labor in addition to $159 service call which supposedly only includes diagnosing the problem. So ultimately, I was charged $400 with taxes for a 15-20-minute work even if I was under warranty. $159 for service call should at least include some sort of labor costs given the technician is already visiting the customer and especially when your company has done the original installation and we are within the warranty period. Our furnace sometimes stopped at a low temperature and I had to power off and on to make it work again. The issue has been there for a couple of years until one day in Jan, it completely stopped working for a couple of hours then came back. A technician came to my house and fixed some problem. he also adjusted fan speed to so it run more efficiently. btw, I called customer services last year but the issue was not figured out, but suggested to updated the control panel. updates: unfortunately, the issue came back in Feb - the furnace cannot reach the set temperature. I was told that the furnace collector box cracked. just one month after last repair services, how this happened? The customer service manager just called me, they will fix this. read more

Bought our house in August of 2022. Brand new house in Stetson Heights. A couple weeks back my heat pump failed in the middle of the night. The blades broke apart and shredded through the device. Bobs comes out and looks at the heat pump and said we have never seen this happen before"... now they want over $3,000 to rebuild a defective devise they installed. I don't know about you but Bobs is a rip off. Not to mention my water heater is also failing told it needs new sensors!!! Bet they won't cover that either. Don't trust Bobs for anything. They install garbage product charge you thousands when they fail not even 2 years later. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! One of the worst vendors I've dealt with. My AC has been unresponsive over a year and the company has gone from we will completely address this to going cold on their promise with the equipment still being very much under warranty. I've called multiple times and tried to get someone to talk to me but all I get are false promises. A service technician came out and acknowledged the problem as he was able to see it as well and said the company will take care of fixing this (a year ago). At one point they got one of their bosses Mr. Kalin to personally text me and tell me they completely understand the problem and he will personally ensure this issue gets addressed (this was a year ago) and then my follow ups with him have been ignored ever since. I have the entire chat transcript to prove this. Such a disappointing experience and I would strongly suggest not to work with this company who sell you a substandard product and do nothing about servicing it if things go wrong. Please avoid them at all costs. I wish I could give them less than one star. read more
