Nice spot, however I specifically traveled there for the bbq pizza and they had taken it off their menu. So sad. Therefore, we settled on the chicken sausage pizza. We didn't love it. It advertises some sort of sweetness, maybe honey drizzle, but we didn't taste that at all. The crust wasn't crispy enough for my liking and overall the flavor just wasn't there. Stopped by Bob's Pizza in Pilsen as I have heard good things about it. There is seating for about 20 inside the restaurant. Adjacent to the ordering counter, they offer parmesan packets, crushed red pepper packets, napkins, plates, and garlic seasoning. We ordered the Bob's Pepperoni pizza and it took about 10-15 minutes to come out fresh. The pizza itself is "pilsen style" which is a mix of thin crust and neapolitan. There was plenty of pepperoni on top! Overall I thought the pizza was really tasty but not within my top 5. The server did give us complimentary desserts to go which was incredibly kind! Some friends and I ordered takeout from Bob's Pilsen location. The pizza is thin-crust like New York-style pizza, with a large puffy crust-- it's technically called "Pilsen-Style". We ordered 3 pies-- Korean BBQ Chicken, Spinach Pesto and Stracciatella, and normal Cheese. I personally liked the Spinach Pesto and Stracciatella the best-- I'm always a fan of arugula on pizza; added with the white cheese + prosciutto, it made a great combo. Fresh, savory, and delicious. I also liked the Korean BBQ Chicken pizza-- a unique option with a sweet and tangy kick from the BBQ sauce and kimchi. The cheese was pretty standard. Each pie comes with 8 slices but each slice really massive, so the prices are pretty reasonable for the size (~$25 / pie). We picked up a their Bobs Margherita. The pizza itself seemed a little pricy for a Margarita pizza. But one thing that does this pizza Justice is their size. I've had a few other Margherita pizzas for the same price, but a lot smaller. The pizzas here are huge, and they cut the slice new York style large as well. So after finishing the pizza, I would say their price is justifiable. The pizza itself was very tasty. Like I had said before, they cut the pizza into very large slices. I love Margherita pizzas, but can't remember if I've ever had them with slices of fresh tomatoes on it. Bobs version came with them and must say it was a nice touch. The pizza also came with stracciatella cheeseC fresh basil and white balsamic. I would have preferred the crust to be a little extra done, but overall still a decent crust. My daughter and I drove specifically to this place for their empanadas! Wow, they bursted with flavor! To start, the place is absolutely beautiful. We came when the restaurant wasn't busy but, my guess is that at certain times it's packed. Jessica was our server and she was great. The food was seasoned well, they're not afraid to use salt, garlic and all those wonderful spices that make the wonderful Puerto Rican dishes so exceptional and unique. My daughter even commented "the chef cooking definitely comes from the island". Their arroz con gandules was so tasty, I had to take some to go. My only regret was not eating more! So I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this place was disappointing. We walked in, water cups are DIY. NAPKINS ARE DIY and you have to ask for water. You also have to offer at the register and pay before you even get your pizza. I'm a generous tipper, but what work had to be done to to tip. Bake the pizza. We also received the pizza and had to get up again to grab plates. Pizza was very good. But I'd rather order it for take out rather than sit and try to enjoy a restaurant. Not sure if the owner don't want to pay waiters out for tip. But this is not a good place to sit and eat. read more

I drive through Pilsen all the time and to be honest, I never knew there was a pizza place called Bob's till now. Literally on the next street over from Cermak grocery. Registering for an rewards acct for Bob's was fairly simple and ordering was just as fast. there seems to be only 1 size (measured 16" x 16") which consisted of 6 large foldable slices. I ordered the sausage and I got to Bob's early and they seems to have it all ready in the warmer. The pie was tasty, way better to others in the area (Costco). Pickle pizza, need I say more? Im lactose intolerant but I needed to try it before leaving Chicago. They made me a personal pan since they don't do pizza by the slice. It was salty in the best way possible. I hauled my left overs all the way to KC so my bf could try the glorious freakshow that is pickle pizza. It's not the best pizza in the world but it delicious and unique. The restaurant is also BYOB with a liquor store right across the street for all your beer needs. The first time I heard of Bob's was ~3 years ago when a buddy told me about having tried and liked their pickle pizza. I almost snubbed him for having pickle on a pizza. They offer paper plates and cups that helped us have several impromptu picnics in the park this summer. I don't recall how they describe their pizza but I would describe it as something close to NY style (foldable) but still different. The magic is in their crunchy crust & sauce which really go very well with the different toppings they offer. I especially appreciate that their pizza has very little to what feels like no cheese. One of the best pizza's my friend and i have eaten. We went to their Pilsen location and it's tucked right on a corner neighborhood spot. The parking situation is a bit hard but it's worth it. The indoor is small not a lot of tables to sit at but they also offer a few outdoor tables. The girl who took our order was very nice and friendly. You walk up to the counter, place your order and they bring it to you. O recommend getting the hot truffle honey and pour it all over the pizza and specially the crust it just boosts the flavor so much it's amazing. Also those garlic parmesan fries were to die for. They were sauced just right and they were still crispy just how i like them. We ordered half sausage and half pepperoni and the slices were really big. Next time i want to try their pickle pizza.
