Pizza is something I crave daily bc in nyc you can get a slice of pizza for $1 - $5 at mostly anytime. Today was one of those days at 10pm in Chicago. So Kung Fu Pizza Bar is directly across the street from the Division Blue CTA line. And the bus is also right here on the same side steps away. The actual door is closed bc it's like Covid era ordering ... just through the window :-) It's funny bc of all the ramen bags that decorate the window and the star wars memorabilia and Asian figurines and candy bags. The guy who owns it didn't speak a word after we knocked on the window as advised on his piece of paper, we said "hello" and ordered the $5 cheese and pepperoni pizza w a can of soda which ended up being $6 without him saying anything or a receipt given bc he gave us $4 back from a $10 so I guess tax was 20% but we didn't expect that bc sales tax is 10% in Chicago. The paper sign notes it's five dollars plus tax but It doesn't say taxes 20%. So I wish he would've communicated or at least put it on the paper that is going to be a total of $6 including tax or just make it a flat rate of $6 or a $5 flat fee. We still said "thank you" after getting the order and still we heard nothing. The guy doesn't practice customer service or even speak a word in response to our "hello" or "thank you" at least on 10/17/25 for our transaction. If you are a business owner it would be a nice practice to also say a reply of "hello" and "thank you" (for a customers patronage). If customers say nothing but the order I could understand the dead silence but it felt weird and awkward that we might as well have ordered from a kiosk in Japan where it's just a robot or a vending machine :-). At the end of the day my hunger was satiated, it was $6 and it included a soda or water, and the pizza was good enough. I would def return in another late night hunger escape from the monotony of eating leftovers at home. We would have appreciated a reply of hello back and maybe just a word however. Cool decorations of ramen bags and we fantasized that he was watching anime or a movie in between customers lol. Oh and we loved the fortune cookies that came w the pizza! First time ever in my life. It was definitely an interesting experience like none other. No nonsense ... just get your soup as in Seinfeld :-). read more

$5 for two NY slices and a soda, after tax, in this economy?! Kung Fu is the spot to go for good cheap quick bites. Literally a hole in the wall, you can easily miss this if you're not looking out for the neon "SLICES" sign in the window. They also serve a single NY slice and soda too for about $3.50. Packaging is sturdy as the slices come in a box. For this price you are not allowed to complain. The food definitely exceeded my expectations. You may not see anybody at the service window but if you wait a few minutes the owner will eventually come. Once he takes your order the slices only take a few minutes to heat up. You can take a look at the soda selection through the window as well. read more

There's something charming about this place. It's both in plain sight, right across from the Division Blue Line, and also oddly hidden. Look for a neon " Slices" sign next to some scaffolding and you're there. Honestly $5 for 2 slices and a pop is unreal. The best part is they were delicious! The pepperoni was perfectly crispy with little pools delicious oil in the middle. And the pop selection includes RC! As a Chicagoan I can't ask for more. Please note, the man at the order window was the only person in the place so be patient. Each slice was kindly wrapped in aluminum and neatly stacked on a paper plate along with condiments and a fortune cookie to go. read more

Yikes! That could be the entire review right there, but I'll add a few more words. The slices are like those grade school slices from back in the 80s, but worst! It's 45% bread, 5% sauce, 2% cheese, and 48% regret. If you really need to eat pizza and it's late, you'd honestly be better off finding a Dominos or Papa John's, and I haven't eaten that pizza since Bill Clinton was in office. At least the slice comes with a pop, so yeah, that's reliable. That's the bright spot in this review. read more

5 bucks for 2 slices and a pop? Thats a helluva good deal. The pizza is good. No it's not going to compete with a $30 artisan pie so don't come here looking for the best pizza in town. But it's much better than you'd expect for the price. We don't have a ton of slice places in the city and a lot of what we do have aren't very good for slices, but this place is up there with the best of them in terms of being a good slice. The set up here is a bit strange though. There's no restaurant, no door to go inside, not even any windows to look through (windows are all taped up with yellow papers) . There's just a small sliding window you walk up and order from. The place is oddly secretive lol. read more

Walked past this place multiple times and finally decided to check it out, was excited by the promise of two slices and a soda for 5 bucks and was not disappointed in the slightest. I was greeted with two hot slices of pepperoni and cheese, wrapped in tin foil and a cold Sierra Mist. My partner got the same and it came out to a flat 10. We enjoyed one of our slices at the fountain across the street and they were delicious, we couldn't believe the quality at that price. The pizza was still hot after a 45 minute train ride home. Overall I could not recommend this place more. The best bang for your buck I've seen in this city. Go check it out!!!!! read more

Good slice of pepperoni pizza. We came here randomly on the way to another restaurant, and thought we should give it a try. I love slices at a few other places, so this is a tough category to crack, but I have to give Kung Fu this much: their lunch deal is cheap, with a slice and a soda for $5. This is walk-up slice service only so there's no space to dine in, but that's all I need on the way to/from the blue line on the way somewhere else from my house! read more

The novelty of this place probably exceeds the quality of the pizza as it looks like a hidden knock-on-the-door-speakeasy kind of place, but I don't think they're actually trying to stay a secret. The place is just still working on getting set up inside so they blocked the view of the inside. For $5 you get either two NYC slices or 1 deep dish slice in addition to a canned soda or water. They also throw in a fortune cookie. The nyc slice tastes literally like $1 slices in nyc for better or for worse. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the moment I stop trusting yelp. How this place has more than one star I will never understand. My friend and I used to refer to little Caesars pizza as aunt bunny pizza. Like what aunt Bunny would make for pizza: a slice of Wonder Bread with ketchup on top sprinkled with shredded cheese and thrown in the microwave. Little Caesars to me has always been the epitome of bad pizza. I would order little Caesars for a month straight before I would ever get another slice of pizza from this dump. I had not eaten pizza in a few months and was craving it like a madman. I drove out of my way because of the 4.5 stars. First, it took 20 minutes to get my slices, which I can only assume were being heated up in a microwave while the employee watched his show on tv. The pizza was ridiculously hot (microwaves will do that) so I had to wait a few minutes to dig in. Into the soggy mess that was my pizza. It was still hot enough to burn so I quickly took a gulp of my soda-- and the only reason I didn't spit it out was because of the mess it would have made! I poured it out so I could look at the expiration date on the can: February 24 2020!!!! It tasted like it had been sitting in a 100 degree closet for the past 2 years. This place had nothing to earn even the single star Yelp forces you to give. Rude worker, shit pizza, and a 3-year-old can of pop, all for only $5. Screw this place, screw Yelp, and screw anyone who gave this place more than a star. Go eat some real pizza somewhere, you dipshits. read more

This intrigued me even more. I finally snagged a few slices on my way home (pepperoni NY and sausage deep dish) and both were phenomenal.
