If not, stay at Whole Foods. For those of you who are used to Boston's North End Pizza, Bob's may look like the exact same thing. Bob himself used to be one of the owners of Boston's before he went solo. I used to be a delivery driver for him back in the day. He was a really nice boss. Having eaten at both places, I think Bob has refined the recipe a bit. Same Boston's format for a slice: choose you slice, have a teenager put it on a metal pizza pan, and shove it into the oven for about five minutes. I got the Bob's Special and bought my mother in law the pepperoni, mushroom, and olive. Slices are gargantuan, but thin. I find it kind of novel that I can eat something with about the same surface area as a blow up children's pool and not explode. Bob's has bumped up the price a bit. Two slices for 12 plus change. The WORST service I have experienced. I can't believe how long I had to wait while they kept answering phone call after phone call. The three pizzas I ordered were sitting on the counter getting cold for 20 minutes AFTER it was supposed to be ready for me. I tried a couple times to get their attention and was ignored and treated VERY RUDE every time. I have no idea how the pizza is (looked mediocre) I walked out after he finally came to help me and the phone rang again and he walked away. I walked in this morning hungry as can be and about to go out to sea. I walk into the shop looking for a couple of slices before my adventure and decide on the chefs special pizza as it looked delicious with its fresh tomato slices and seasonings. Quickly i attempted to order the pie by the slice only to be told they are a quarter of pie per slice, i questioned the value of the pizza only to be told that they were sold by the topping without the prerequisite information of, how many toppings were on this pizza, after asking how this pie would affect my financials once again I was simply asked if I wanted the slices or not to which I quickly responded yes in shame, further fortified by the giggling of the pizza boy in the back, presumably at my seemed stupidity. Don't bother. Crust is usually burnt. Our pepperoni pizza last night had 22 pieces of meat on a large pizza, divided between eight slices. There was one slice with one piece so another could have four. The service was almost abrasive. With few exceptions, we get home and swear we will never go back. When you take the east coast pizza to the nearly west coast end of the nation, I can't argue with that. I've got a stamp approved seal stating this is the best pizza on this state. My group of always in the know couldn't help but ask where the owner was from and finding out Festa is a Boston native gives him some street credibility. While I adore the beach vibe of Kailua and the location of Bob's, I don't have to worry about coming here disheveled and improper. Dining with my east coast brigade of pizza fanatics that takes this place apart with nothing but positive feedback, I can honestly say I'm at the right place. As much as I've tried little of New Yorks pizza and some from the mom and pops micro-size towns of Pennsylvania, I do believe that I've reached the goldmine. Although I've been here before, I don't remember it being just as good then until my second visit and this was before I was avid on Yelp. Expect there to be an ongoing wave of lines depending on the time of day. Outdoor seats are only available and it's shared with other businesses. The eclectic amount of people that come by throughout the entire time my family and I were dining was quite amusing. Furry companions are also allowed to dine with their owners out in the alfresco under these circular red and white checker table tops of 5. Bar style seats are also available on the rims under the straw and maroon umbrellas. I love that! Don't feed the birds though! This pizza parlor comes equipped with a selection of Calzones, Chicken Wings, and a side salad to order. Fountain drinks are to your left of the parlor and other east coast staples may also be available on the fridge should you desire to take a gander. If you're dining solo, you can buy a slice which is the size of a quarter of a pie. Please keep in mind that these are giant size pizzas. The size of one slice is 19 inches. Prices are fair. For a slice depending on the amount of toppings ranges from $6-$8. If you're coming with a group, order a whole one or two. Certainly worth the bang for your bucks. Usually, I can only eat one slice of a Dominos pizza. With Bob's pizza, I was able to eat nearly two enormous slices. Beautiful crispy crusts to the last chomp was indescribable. Yes, it was gloriously delectable. There's some kind of hypnotizing concoction in the pizza (besides the obvious toppings) I'll never be able to decipher but are amazing in flavor. We ordered the half cheese/anchovies pizza, and pepperoni cheese pizza and it was purely divine to the last bite (Toppings 411? See link below). Seasonings on the side are available should you decide on additional flavors of dried red pepper, granulated "garlique" as I love to say and adore putting on my pizza, Parmesan cheese and oregano. Dipping sauces of ranch, BBQ, hot sauce and garlic are available for additional cost. A companion of ours purely eats like a bird and they were able to devour two and a half giant slices of pizza. I was in awe and proud of her! She definitely loved it! Since the approval of this east coast style pizza, we are sure to come back again for repeated rounds. Parking is ample and is shared with surrounding businesses. Be ready to be patient. What to eat when you're headed to or from Kailua or Lanikai beach: BOB'S! My girlfriend Olivia kidnapped me one day to bring me to Bob's for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Located in the small shopping center before Kailua Beach, I've meandered by Bob's while getting shave ice next door and never gave it a second glance. Who would have known that this tiny shop would hold gigantic, crispy Yelp worthy pies?! At first we were each going to get a sice of pizza but once I realized that a single slice was 1/4 of a pizza, we decided to split it. We ordered a slice of the mushroom, pepperoni and olive pizza which was about $7 and change. The guys at the counter are super nice and they heated up our slice in the oven. We took our lunch to the nicely shaded and clean patio, and wolfed down our pizza. I was completely stuffed after half a slice and there's no way I would have been able to eat an entire one by myself. We're all picky when it comes to our pizza, but if you like a crispy crust (that's my preference) then Bob's will make you more than happy. A superb deal at around $7 a slice and about $28 for an entire pie which is huge! Beach days are about to get waaaay more enjoyable! read more

I'm somewhat biased here as I met Bob, the owner, before I knew he had a pizzeria. This place is small. Actually the only place to sit at is outside as there is no space in the actual pizzeria. Do not worry though; there are tables there for the guests, along with squirt guns to shoot at your viscous prey that will steal the pizza right out of your hands. I enjoy the pizza as it reminds me of east coast style pizza. I tried the cheese pizza and ordered two slices, which actually equals half a large pie. I poured some garlic powder on that bad-boy and devoured it on the spot. Thin crust, slightly crispy...perfect. I drove over to Lanikai Beach one afternoon because Emi H said it was the prettiest beach on the island. The drive over was gorgeous and so was the beach so I'm glad I made the trip for that reason alone. Bob's Pizzeria was another highlight of heading over there though. For some weird reason I had been craving melty cheese and when I drove past Bob's I made a mental note of it. That mental note was followed by looking it up on the Yelp app where I saw they had great reviews. And that was followed by a stop in to Bob's where I ordered 1 slice of pie and was given 2 humongous pieces. Bob's has a typical interior of what a Boston Pizzeria looks like, well done, well laid out...It also has a GREAT outdoor area to eat with covered tables and checkered table cloths. On a Yelp scale of 1-5 for Boston Style Pizza outside Boston...Bob's is a solid 4 and that's exactly what Bob's is getting from others who love their pizza.
