We went on Friday. I've been to all the Bob's. Plano, McKinney, Lemon, Omni, Grapevine. I'm big into fine dining. Del Frisco, Nick and Sam, Crown Block, Morton's, Captial Grill, Trulucks, Ruth Chris, etc. We had really bad service Friday. Our entrees took forever to come. 25 min easy waiting. Then my carrot was luke warm cold. My steak char grilled black and cooked over... My date's butter sauce for the lobster was cold. They took it away to get another...now she has no butter. She said her entree was salty. They comped it. If I want hit or miss service I'll go to Outback or Salt Grass. I went to the most expensive steak house I could and got poor service. Maybe they were just busy or it was a one off day. Cold food, took forever to get the entrees, no jelly beans. I payed top dollar too. I won't be back any time soon and I don't want anyone to contact or comp me anything free. Its not about the money. This review is about the poor service we rec'd. read more

Took my husband here for his birthday last night, and boy was he happy. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted with smiles and people that look genuinely happy to be there. I like that you can come here dressed up or just in a nice shirt and jeans. One of the mangers made it a point to come by and wish my husband happy birthday and chatted with us for a couple minutes. We've been coming here for 6 years for multiple occasions. The food remains great. The service we have received has been sub par for this type of restaurant. This last experience left us just with a bad taste in our mouth. We didn't receive our drinks as ordered, I had to walk up to the bar to get drinks we ordered 20 minutes prior. Which I would have reminded our waitress, if she had returned to the table in that time frame. Our server was very inattentive, even was walking away as she was explaining the appetizers before we could even order or ask a question. At one point she was struggling bringing over drinks, my wife then asked if she could help her by grabbing them. The waitress very rudely said no. As all she was trying to do was help. For the money you spend at this steak house, I expect to have better service. Has us now looking elsewhere to go for our dining experiences. read more

We ordered the Scallops for the appetizer, somehow, there was a mix-up and I was given a vegetable soup instead of what was ordered. The manager noticed the little mix-up, came to the table and apologize, then gave us the soup on the house. Steak and Vegetable Soup: That was the best soup I've ever had, I kid you not. It was perfectly seasoned, and there was a taste of each ingredient with every bite taken. The Lobster Bisque: I had a taste of that, it too, was very delicious and full of flavor. But hey, I'm keeping the steak soup as my best friend, it deserves that status. Scallops w/ Shrimp and Spinach Now we're talkin'! The sauce was divine and the scallops melted in your mouth and were cooked to perfection. Whenever I get scallops, I always worry about the cook time. Not everyone, succeeds when it comes to making the perfect scallop. Chef, you passed the test! Crab Cakes w/ Onion Potato's The crab cakes were delicious, the sauce, really topped it off. The potato's, I was on the fence. I wasn't a fan, but that is mostly due to the carbs. Next time, I will substitute the potato's. Ribeye Steak w/ mashed potato's With this one, I'm not sure if this is a ribeye or another cut of steak, but the bite I had was so dang good! I'm not huge fan of steak, but I will not turn down a bite or two. Miscellaneous: We had a Lemon Drop Martini and an Espresso Martini. Both were made very well, there were no complaints. This location is close to our new home so we were super excited to check it out and we were very pleased.....no disappointments served here! We ordered the scallop appetizer special and it was tasty! Bob's also has the best wedge salad around! (yes I am a wedge expert) Obviously their meats are the star here, I can recommend their filet mingon, the bone in ribeye and/or the double cut bone in pork chop! My mouth is wondering just writing this review...., if you have time for dessert we love their crème brûlée or bread pudding. Great wine list compared to other steak places in the area....they have a large assortment of wines from all over the US as well as all over the world. I've been here a few times now for a special occasion kind of meal. Came in recently though to just have a good ol steak for dinner mid-week and boy were they busy. Luckily, reservations were set and we were seated promptly. The crowd consisted primarily of business people by the looks of their attire. The noise volume was extremely high to the point where I found myself almost shouting. Our server had to speak loudly through his mask as well. Not a relaxing meal for sure. Once I had a steak at Bob's it was hard to go back to other steakhouses. The flavor is so deep which is probably due to them simply seasoning it with salt and pepper, because that's all you need when cooked properly with quality cuts. The texture is melt in your mouth tender and juicy. Their signature glazed carrot is tasty and adds a sweetness to the savory meat. You can't go wrong with any of the potato choices, although I do love their rich, velvety mashed potatoes. They typically have a jar of pickles at the table that you can snack on but we had to ask for them this time around. It was crisp and cold which I found made it even tastier. Despite the extremely loud noise level, our server Andrew was on point with everything. The food took a while to come out which was expected from the full house. My brother's steak was a tad more rare than medium rare. Andrew quickly offered to take it back and my brother insisted it was fine. We were very hungry by that time. Still, a manager came by and made sure it was really fine. The gesture was appreciated. Overall, this experience was not so enjoyable but I've enjoyed my other meals in the past and will definitely come back. read more

Came here on a Tuesday night to celebrate my daughters 9th bday because she is a big steak fan. I just have to start by saying that the service here was absolutely 100% top notch. It was so perfectly personal and I loved how our server was around the exact perfect amount! The manager even swung by when he found out we were celebrating a birthday and said hello. Everyone was so kind. Food! Great food. Started with some cocktails (cosmopolitan martini for me and whiskey for the hubs). Got the Wagyu appetizer which overall was very good but it was a bit heavy on the dressing which kind of drowned out the deliciousness of the Wagyu. We also got the Smoked Salmon appetizer which was good! My 5 year just stole all the smoked salmon. I got the Duck for my entree which was overall good but it was a bit on the dry side. Could've been my fault since I asked for it medium well but that was the suggestion so I went with it. My husband got the Filet and our girls split a Filet and it was SO nice of them to cook each of them a small one instead of bringing out a bigger one and having to split it, it was truly very thoughtful! We also got a side of broccoli but found it to be pretty under seasoned but the mac and cheese was a hit especially with the kiddos. Simply one of the best examples of stellar service I've experienced outside of a Michelin star restaurant. Our server Kate was fantastic and addressed every question perfectly and took into the next level, sending the maitre d over when our son said he fashioned himself to be a bit of a foodie and like the idea becoming a chef one day, he took him back into the kitchen to meet the executive chef and take a tour including the meat locker. Our experience at Bob's was fantastic and I do not hesitate to give it ALL the Stars on a first trip! We were staying in DFW due to an overnight flight cancellation and I used Yelp to find Bob's. We were seated in an ample booth and the interior was spacious with dark wood paneling that was quite soothing and cozier considering the size of the restaurant. Without delay an attendant swooped in with the most glorious hunk of steaming hot bread ! It was epic- like literally steam poured out as I cut into it! The inside was fluffy and hot and the outside was crusty perfection! It was perfect- like literally the most perfect little nugget of welcoming goodness I'd ever been served! Our server was Isabelle. She was So helpful and kind- like a genuinely nice person you could talk to all night long. She has worked for Bobs for 14 yrs and told us how much she loved working there. She explained how the management had really taken care of their employees during Covid. She said they were all paid and looked after exceptionally. They also get major holidays and Sundays off. As well as great compensation plans. Her story made me glad to patronize them . She was so authentic that I have no doubt they are a good company and I'd highly recommend supporting them for that reason. She said they should have locations in most Omnis. Back to the food... the salad was stellar. I literally could eat that everyday! Get the added bacon well worth the $5. Excellent beer & cocktail selections. What impressed me as much as their company ethics is the fact my husband & I were eating later than usual and wanted to split an entree. Not only did they gladly do that with no hesitation- they also 1) offered to split the steak AND prepared them differently ( mine more well done, his less) 2) they gave us each our own sides! This level of service & customer satisfaction is almost extinct! The steak was prepared exceptionally- it was the best steak I've had in Texas so far in four years of living here. For sides, we shared broccoli which were nothing to make a fuss about, but will admit they did taste fresh from a pot of boiling water. However, the chocolate cake we had tonight was phenomenal. Had Bob's while in Dallas for work. I did not get the opportunity to take many photos, however, I had a chance to try almost everything on the menu. Our servers were awesome. We had a group of 14 and some were getting pretty noisy. But, our servers were gracious and took incredible care of us. For starters, I preferred the carpaccio and fried lobster tail. The carpaccio was accompanied by a creamy, garlicky horseradish that was amazing. So rich and tangy. The fried lobster tail was a special that was fantastic. Buttery and light, just as lobster should be. i had the ribeye with a baked potato. The steak was good. It did not exceed expectations, it was just a good steak. It did not have an amazing crust. The baked potato was also average. The skin was salty and buttery which was really nice. It had a nice crispiness when biting into it. I think the best part of dinner was the carrot. Apparently, Bob's is known for their carrots. They have an incredible glaze that is so rich and sweet. The carrot was cooked to perfection. It was tender, yes crunchy, and the glaze had a wonderfully savory, molasses like flavor. All in all, Bob's was an enjoyable meal, but I cannot put it into the elite tier. If I am ever in Dallas again I would love to go back! read more

Wagyu Steak Spoiled Will never eat here again! We ordered the wagyu steak and I immediately smelled something off. I took a bite and the meat tasted horrible. Our server Shay was so kind and very prompt throughout our dinner! We had the macaroni and cheese to start, which I highly recommend! The steaks was cooked perfectly, and my boyfriend had plenty of toppings with his baked potato! We ended with some coffee and chocolate cake, which didn't disappoint. It was very busy, but we had a nice secluded corner which we enjoyed. I posted my initial for this Bob's location in 2013 and considering that was ~9 years ago, an update is due. I am glad to say that all of these years later and this location continues to deliver a superb dining experience. Of the locations in the DFW area, this is my favorite Bob's. I live less than a mile from one location and ~4 miles from a second location but I will drive past both to dine at this one. While the other two locations are nice and do a great job, for me, everything about the Grapevine location is always top notch; food, service and ambiance are always a little nicer here. While I have had many business dinners here, this Bob's has become my go-to for special occasions. Both of my most recent visits were for birthday celebrations; the first being for my friend's birthday dinner celebration and the second being for my birthday. For my friend's birthday, we had a party of 5 and from beginning to the end, service was never lacking. Our server did an amazing job of ensuring the pace of our night flowed with the various meal courses proper spaced out. Not only was each course delivered together (i.e. no one ever waited for their entrée per course), both our water and cocktails of choice were never empty. Add to it, the manager stopped by to introduce himself and to ensure we were having an awesome experience. A few months later, I dined here for my birthday and while the party was smaller, the experience was similar. For me, the level of service is what separates this location from the others. The staff here are very knowledgeable of the menu and always seem happy to serve. If you unsure of what to order, ask for recommendations and they will gladly do so. They may ask a couple of questions to determine your appetite, taste preference, etc. so they can customize the recommendation. I appreciate this as they could just recommend something and consider it done; thankfully, that never happens here. Add to it, if you are unsure of a wine or cocktail, pairing, they will gladly provide recommendations for both. While the staff is very attentive, they are not overbearing and constantly at the table; they are skilled at always being present at just right moment. The other thing I appreciate about this location is the management team will always stop by, introduce themselves and to see how things are going. For my birthday, I put a note in the online reservation about how amazing I think this location is and how I pass up 2 other locations to get here. Both the manager and the assistant stopped by to thank me for the feedback and my continued support. The only thing that has changed at this location from my initial review is they no longer have the cigar lounge. While I am not sure, I believe it was a casualty of the pandemic which is understandable given the nature of covid. While I miss having that is not a deal breaker for me. Lastly, parking consists of a shared lot (with a couple of other restaurants) and complimentary valet (please tip the valet). There is also limited street parking nearby. If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, I highly recommend this Bob's location. They finally sat us, ordered a bottle of wine, and that was about the highlight of dinner. The server recommended the BBQ shrimp, they were horrible. The shrimp was extremely chewy, didn't taste the pepper jack, the bacon was gray and rubbery, and that sauce, yeah I'll pass. Now I'm not sure if this is how steaks are cooked here or if it was bc we were ordering food so close to closing. The ribeyes were gray, barely any searing, the fat had not rendered correctly. The Brussel sprouts were great, but the name steak and chophouse would suggest your steaks would be better than a vegetable. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed with the meal. We were there to celebrate our dad's 70th. I would not have minded paying the $500 tab not including drinks at the bar, had the food been great, it's hard to say that I would give this place another chance. read more
