Fennel & Fennel Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza

Love their fennel sausage & pepperoni pizza! Appetizers are hit or miss - usually garlic heavy for my liking. Otherwise, it's a great spot for a shopping spree lunch break.

I really enjoyed my experience at Boca. We stopped in Corte Madera to get lunch yesterday and my daughter really wanted pizza. I had never been in here before, but my first impressions were very good. It has a slightly classy feel, but warm at the same time. The service was a little formal, but still friendly. I can go on all day about how much I enjoyed my Short rib pizza. This was possibly the best, non-red sauce pizza I've had in a long time. The flavor of the bechamel sauce, carmelized onion and short rib was out of this world. I will say though that if you don't like loads of garlic then this may not be the pizza for you. It feels like there's enough garlic on this pizza to kill a vampire, but I'm not complaining. We also ordered the Mediterranean pizza, which had a much more mild flavor to it. There were a lot of crisp veggies on it with a nice pesto sauce. The lasagna was also really quite excellent with a beefy ragu sauce and also heavy on the garlic. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant! I will be back to try more of their dishes another time!

Came here for a family member's birthday dinner. We made a reservation for 10 people ahead of time, but when we showed up at 4:30 on a Saturday, the place was nearly empty, so a reservation probably wasn't necessary. Service was great though! The staff checked in on us regularly, and they even sang happy birthday to my cousin at the end, which was a really nice touch. I ordered the Linguine Vongole, but honestly, I wasn't a fan. It was way too watery and reminded me of overcooked instant noodles. That said, they were generous with the clams, which I appreciated. All in all, it was an okay experience, but the food didn't wow me and probably won't be coming back.

It's been a couple of years since we have been back but we stopped for lunch this week and had a great meal on their lovely patio. Tuesdays they have a shrimp risotto as their daily special and I am so glad that I ordered it. It was absolutely divine! So delicious and flavorful in every bite! I wish I could eat that again. My husband had the fennel sausage and pepperoni pizza - also loved his dish. We had the roasted artichoke for our starter - tasty! Espressos were the perfect ending to a stunning meal!

I don't eat out in Marin very often because much of the food scene leaves something to be desired, but Boca is one place that has genuinely made it onto my favorites list. I first went on my parents' recommendation, unsure if it would be my thing, but I've been impressed every time--especially with the service, which is consistently excellent without being overbearing. Standout dish for me is the octopus. It alone was enough to bring me back. The salads are solid, and while the Cobb salad is fairly generic, it's done well. I've tried the pizzas--personally not a big pizza person--but everyone I go with loves them. The Mediterranean pizza is a family favorite. I would skip the pasta; it's pretty mediocre. The space is warm, comfortable, and welcoming, with good seating and usually plenty of availability. It's great for groups, works well for all ages, and is a place you can sit and enjoy without feeling rushed. Plus, it's very affordable, which is a big bonus. Appetizers are generally good, but I'd pass on the burrata--it's small and the fruit pairing feels uninspired. Overall, Boca isn't perfect across the entire menu, but if you order the right things--octopus, salads, and pizza--it really delivers. Definitely recommend with a little menu strategy.

Was craving some italian food after a long day and thought it would be a perfect stop. They immediately seated us, the restaurant was cozy and the food came out so fast. I didn't love the pizza because I didn't taste any red sauce, more so just diced tomatoes. The fettuccine was amazing, I wish i got that. Garlic flatbread was the perfect starter. Will definitely be coming back but maybe not for the pizza.

When we wandered we were greeted by a young woman named Lucia. She was warm, pleasant and made us change our minds and stay here for dinner. I'm so glad we listened to her! We loved their pizzas and beet salad. Meatballs were great too. So may great things to try on the menu. We sat outside and it was a beautiful night !

This place is located in The Villages of Corte Madera. You can shop, window shop, or grab a coffee before or after your meal. Great location. Plenty of parking (depending on the day). They have covered outdoor/indoor seating. We sat outdoor since it was so nice out. The hostess was nice and I our waiter was great. Overall, thumbs up to customer service. I thought the prices were a little on the high end, but nowadays, every dish is at least $16, even for a salad. I know this is a pizza place but we only ordered salads. My friends ordered the BOCA & Rustico. Both must've been good because they finished it off. We shared the Creamy Burrata. This was so good. It came with fresh tomatoes, slices of baguette toast, some type of pesto garlic aioli, & drizzled olive oil. I spread burrata, aioli, & cut/diced up a tomato and put that last on top of the toast. It was DELICIOUS! I ordered the Organic Beet Salad. This was SO good as well. The beets were large slices. I ended up adding some of the tomatoes from the burrata dish to my salad. Not that it needed it but no one was eating the creamy burrata dish so I just added it for some extra ingredients. It was great. They have a happy hour from 3p-5p. It's about $5 cheaper. They have a truffle Mac n'cheese I want to try. If I can make it, I'll have to try it out....and a pizza.

We were hungry after walking around the outlet and wanted to get some food. So we decided to try this spot out since their rating on yelp was decent. Ambiance 3.5/5. Parking was big and very convenient to the restaurant. The place was clean and had a nice interior. And a cool area for outdoor seating. Service 2/5. We were greeted by a hostess. She interestingly commented on our appearance. Expressing how we looked "exotic!" When we were dressed in normal every day clothes... I'm not sure what was exotic about that. The vibes from the start were weird and it didn't end there. While we were being seated I heard her ask "How was your new year?" Assuming she was speaking to us. I said "It's going good, how is yours?" She then replied, "Oh, I'm talking to my girlfriend on the phone." I didn't know how to respond to that and just sat down and began looking through the menu. Thankfully our server was very polite and professional. The next issue we had wasn't with him but unfortunately our food. Food 1/5: Meatballs were under seasoned. All of our pastas were salty, except the fettuccini, it was bland. We did enjoy the flavors in the rigatoni but it was too salty to finish. The garlic cheese bread again, bland. Steak was too well done when we actually requested medium rare. Moving on, the chocolate cake was velvety but in my opinion was too rich. A couple scoops and I was done. Tiramisu tasted average (similar profile to store bought). The only things I enjoyed was the pizza, and our burrata tomatoes and bread appetizer. Other than that every other item was unappetizing. I'd say we spent around $240 on a very salty and bland meal. Crazy.

Boca Pizzeria will always be one of my local favorites! I enjoyed another deliciously mouth watering meal of "Manila Clams" and "Boca Salad," for lunch today. Truly satisfying, to say the least!

Do they offer gluten free pizza or pasta options? I couldn't tell based on the images of the menu.

Nope, but they have gluten free appetizers

Is the patio useable in the winter (i.e. covered and warm)? With a dog it's tough to find good winter spots.

Absolutely! They are very dog friendly. I work in the area so I love to treat myself there and the staff is great.

We had Crostini with a roasted tomato spread, and some olives, it was very underwhelming. The olives had pits in them; they were not a spread. The roasted tomatoes in olive oil were flavorless. I thought the olives would be like a tapenade to spread on the bread. We both had pear salads, which sounded wonderful, but I thought the pears would be thinly sliced perhaps crisp Asian pears, but, they were cooked with a sweet sauce and soft, and then serve served with very sweet red grapes and a sweet pomegranate dressing and sweet candied pecans, even though it was on a bed of Frisse, the salad was too sweet. It was served with a couple little tiny pieces of Gorgonzola cheese that was so soft that I couldn't divide it up to eat it with the rest of the salad, that would've been a better spread for the bread! I had grilled mixed seafood misto that had been fried very lightly.. The swordfish was overcooked and dry and flavorless.. The shrimp and scallops were cooked fine. The salmon was a tiny little piece with a lot of fat streaks in it. The wedges of Yukon gold potatoes were roasted, but were drenched with olive oil. I could only eat the scallops and shrimp. The carrots were so al dente when my husband went to cut them they slid off his plate, I had to nibble on them by hand by the green tips. For dessert, my husband ordered spumoni which was sliced ice cream and very thin slices. Kind of like a bombe. The flavor was really great, but there really wasn't enough to share. I was very disappointed with the food quality and for the price of the wine-- it was marginal. It may have been better it I was served the wine that I ordered. All of this for $200 before tip. Not worth the price. The music was loud, it was set for the staff, I think, not older patrons and families--the ambience just wasn't nice or calm or celebratory for mothers. No special flower was handed out, not a dessert, not a glass of wine, not anything special for Mom. Oh yes, my husband's "special" fillet of sole was dry and was served on the skin. Not good. I was just so disappointed, it was supposed to have been the highlight of my day since my son lives far away, it wasn't.

Penne for Your Thoughts…read more Cal-Italian restaurant in the quaint town of Larkspur that's celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year. Picco blends the best of California with locally sourced and fresh produce with classic and modern takes on Italian dining. They are also Michelin recognized, as they've been Bib Gourmand winners ('21-23) in the past, and are currently "Recommended." The Good: * Reservations via OpenTable * Free street and City-owned lots available but there are time limitations, so check the signage. * They also run a pizzeria (Pizzeria Picco) literally right next door if you'd rather have a pie than pasta. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Waitstaff was fantastic and friendly. * Also has a bar if you just want to come in for a drink or three. * Local brews on tap, as well as a full oeuvre of alcoholic beverages. * They're known for their changing seasonal risotto, and after one bite, it was easy to see why! It was simply fantastic, as the rice was cooked perfectly and the fresh spring flavors in ours shone. * Carissa loved her King Salmon and veggies, as the fish was cooked perfectly. I ordered a daily special with house-made pappardelle noodles and smoked beef short ribs, and while it looked like a hot mess, it was fantastic. The noodles were thick and held up well to the assertive smoke and flavor of the beef--just a perfect dish in my opinion.. The Meh: * The Polenta-Crusted Artichoke Hearts appetizer was just OK. I liked the crunch and how they tried to present them as chicken wings, but they ate a little dry and the coating needed more seasoning. Fortunately, their concomitant aioli was able to save the day. The Ugly: * Not the biggest restaurant, and with the brick walls, it can get raucous in there fairly easily, especially if a large post-wedding party shows up to the bar to get sauced. Conclusion: Fantastic spot for a date night or any other occasion with great ambiance, service, and, most importantly, food. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst café experiences I've had. From the moment I arrived, the service felt off. I was greeted, but also noticeably stared at in a way that felt judgmental and unwelcoming--never a great first impression in a hospitality setting. Their Wi-Fi was down, and the area has very poor cell service, which essentially made it impossible to work. While outages happen, there was no acknowledgment or apology, and it's a major issue for a café that appears to position itself as a place to sit and work. Ordering was another problem. I asked for a matcha latte, and no follow-up questions were asked--no hot or iced, no milk preference. I had to track the barista down myself to clarify. The drink itself was honestly terrible: extremely bitter, grassy, and undrinkable. I left most of it untouched. At nearly $10, it was also the most expensive (and worst) matcha I've ever had. The biggest issue, however, was how payment was handled. Their POS system was down, and I was asked to pay in cash. I didn't have cash, which is normal in 2026. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, I was bluntly told to "sit down" and wait--despite explaining that I had a scheduled meeting and needed to leave. At one point, I was told the only way I could leave was by handing over my credit card information to be written down and kept behind the counter. That is completely inappropriate and unsecured, and I refused. The situation became uncomfortable enough that other customers visibly noticed, and at least one couple left because of how rudely staff were speaking to guests. Eventually, I had to call a friend to bring cash just to resolve a $10 charge, which still took unnecessary time due to confusion between staff. I fully understand that small businesses have bad days. Systems go down. Things happen. But hospitality is about how you handle those moments. There was no apology, no accommodation, and no respect for customers' time or boundaries. I hate leaving negative reviews for local businesses, but I cannot recommend this place in good faith--especially when there are nearby cafés that offer good service, functional systems, Wi-Fi, and basic courtesy.

We decided to sit outdoors since the weather was pleasant. We found a table for two near the projector showing a muted black and white film on the brick wall. The chairs had blankets over them just in case it gets chilly at night. It was very thoughtful. I decided to order their special 3 course meal including a white wine ($45!). It was like they had their own restaurant week specials like SF but I don't believe that exists in Marin. The 3 course meal included a beet salad, pasta (it was the screw shaped kind) with Bolognese and a tiramisu which was my fav of all 3. The white wine was a bit on the sweet side. Otherwise the food here isn't particularly interesting, and wouldn't have been worth writing about except that on a recent and particularly cold, wet evening I ordered a bowl of my ultimate comfort food, clam chowder. What arrived was such a major departure from the expected I had nowhere else to air the case, so now here we are. What arrived at the table was essentially a kind of thickened clam broth. Not flour & water library paste thick. but with the right pasta would have been an ersatz linguine alle vongole (less actual clams). Or adding potatoes would make it the soup of the day which I've been noticing more often on menus is termed "potato chowder". (about this last I'd like to take issue: how can a thickened potato soup rightly be called a chowder given that in traditional chowder recipes the essential ingredient is in fact potatoes (no? ask google). I figure to a marketing kind of mind calling this bland goo a chowder lends a certain cachet that mere "soup" lacks, for whatever that'$ worth) Where was I? oh yeah, i should add that neither potatoes nor pasta were in this clam soup, but to avoid a claim that the order didn't meet the "clam" description, it did include clams. However the clams were all in shell, half-open and floating or submerged in the broth. Not what I expected and definitely messy to fish them out. And of course, it's a chowder so where were the potatoes? But the clams were fresh and with enough sourdough to add the necessary carb load I decided on this cold wet night not to make an issue of this. So if you didn't complain, well you must have had no complaint... except I did. The bowl of clam chowder I was served looked nothing like the customer photo posted somewhere on your yelp page. I'll just stay with salads.

For me, a nice eggplant pizza and the chicken dinner for my wife which is a house favorite since they first opened. My favorite cocktail, the ADMIRAL and a beautiful, tasty nonalcoholic cocktail for my wife. Simply superb! The remodeled outdoor patio is really something to behold- it's a beautiful cozy setting, especially on a warm evening. For several years now this has been just about my favorite spot to go to in the bay area and certainly my number one Marin spot! Sometimes just to sit at the bar and have a nice exquisite craft cocktail is a complete joy. Or, if you only want a pizza, this is the best place to do it as the wood-fired pizzas are second to none and who doesn't want some pizza and good beer? With a price that's not out of line in comparison to the region. Check out the private dining area which can be shut off and secluded which is great for meetings, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, or graduation events. Oh, and let's not forget the succulent desserts. Be sure to take a stroll before or after dinner, and check out the captivating retailers at this charming shopping area known as the Marin Country Mart. There are even freestanding retailers in the various parking areas. Most assuredly, a good place to spend an afternoon or evening. ***Please note that I'm in two areas frequently southern California and Northern California. So I post my favorites in both spots.

She told me that she had read my review and asked what it is I would like to discuss, as if we were about to enter into negotiation, rather than simply admitting fault and reimbursing me for their mistake as any other high-end and low-end restaurant would do in this situation. The manager told me that I should have spoken up last night and have asked for the steak to be reheated. Lol! She then said that it was me who should've caught the mistake on the bill, and that I shouldn't have posted my review. She also said that I should've called the restaurant when I noticed the bill which would've be impossible because I noticed it at midnight. She put the blame on me when I did nothing wrong in this scenario. She tried to make me feel bad about posting the review and made me feel as if it was I was the one that mishandled the entire situation, rather than accepting full responsibility. Eventually, I stood up for myself during the phone call and put the blame back on the restaurant, at which point she realized that maybe she and the restaurant staff that night did do something wrong. Spoiler alert! When that revelation crossed her mind, she offered to partially reimburse me for the cheaper steak that I originally ordered. The steak that they brought out afterwards... I still had to pay for it. Everything so far is clearly being handled correctly. I said that I would like everything reimbursed from that meal and after ten minutes of talking on the phone, she offered to reimburse me for the more expensive steak and the tip from that night, which should have been done in the first place without any of this. As if the situation couldn't get any juicier, she informed me that the kitchen staff have ongoing issues with temperature control on the steaks. Since they want to be petty, I'll be petty too. I saw many servers bagging the crudities that they bring out with their avocado hummus with their bare hands. The avocado hummus station is in the middle of the entire restaurant mind you. This is a bad look for the only dish that seems to be keeping this place afloat.

At first no one acknowledged me and the kids walking in and wasn't sure if we should seat ourself. Had to ask two different persons what to do to get a seat. A few minutes later I saw the host and she said oh yea we got a table for two adults and 3 lil kiddos! This is a pro (considering in SF you can wait up to half an hour!). Shout out to the chefs, Youssef- quirky guy, and Khephra- loved that she chatted w the kiddos! Sweet folks who were attentive, personable, quick to respond to whatever the boss babies needed! They even brought out slices of oranges since the kiddos were eyeing it in our Old Fashioned cocktails! Happy the food came out quick! Youssef even recommended dessert and brought out the bread pudding - never considered dessert but he knew this would make the boss babies happy (couldn't take a pic, was gone in seconds!). Overall, Hog Island is your go to for personable service, oysters, and the bread pudding *drool* .* Satisfied with the outdoor seating situation and how quick the drinks and cocktails came out. Can't wait for if and when we can get a closer location and hope to get this same type of hospitality.

It was cold and rainy, so the outdoor seating area was closed. The inside dining area was nice, though it did feel a little cramped. Our server was friendly and attentive. I started with the clam chowder, which was a bit disappointing. All the components were there, but it just didn't quite come together. The fried Brussels sprouts and fish sandwich, however, were delicious, and the portions were generous. I'm not a huge dessert fan, but when I tried the chocolate chip bread pudding with caramel and whipped cream, I couldn't stop eating it. Overall, I thought Hog Island was good!
