I saw this place on Phantom Gourmet and decided to visit after seeing the stuffed filet lobster so when i got there i ordered that dish and was disappointed after what they served me.The Filet came with white cheese sauce with no lobster not even the small lobster claw piece on top.This dish looked nothing like the one on Phantom Gourmet definitely no lobster in the center at all. After i got home my wife called to talk to the manager which she didn't even apologize and said thanks for calling and that was it ! Ripped off period. Stopped im on a Tuesday night with my kids. Thety wanted Pizza and I was craving Italian food. I'm from New Bedford and have heard many good things about the pasta house before. I figured that night was as good as any to try out with the kids. I was so glad I did. First of all it was quite busy for a Tuesday night which tells me right off the bat that it was probably a good place. As I entered i was pleased with the classieness and the ambience. The next thing I noticed was the sweet smell of roasted garlic. It made my mouth water. To the left was an inviting L shaped bar. I knew without looking that the drink menu was going to be great. Because I was with the kids I had to opt for a table in the dining room insted of the bar. We sat at a four top in the dinning room. I have to say that above all the service was some of the best I have ever had. We were quickly brought delicious bread with an oit of this world dipping oil that was absolutely delicious. Our server Jessica was an absolute professional. She was pleasant, kimd, amazing woth my kids who are normally shy. Her knowledge of the menu was flawless and the speed and attention was phenomenal. It was obvious that all her other tables were sharing in the quality of her fine service. Then the food came. My children both got cheese pizza of the kids menu. The portions where quite large for children but that didnt stop my 10 year old daughter from eating the whole pie (crust excluded lol) I started with the zuppa sausage soup that wasnt the best that i have had but sill tasty. I also had the pleasure of eating the butternut squash ravioli that was simply out of this world (Jessica's recommendation). Im so glad she suggested it. I enjoyed my meal with a Laguinetus IPA on draft which complimented the main course quite well. Our server Jessica took a quick second to stop and personally go through the dessert menu on the provided tablet with my son and daughter who eventuality chose the strawberry cheesecake. My daughter loved it. I enjoys a second IPA for my desert. The atmosphere, the food, and most important the service was by far one of the best i have had. Im looking forward to dining there again and so are my children. And I assure you I will be requesting Jessica when we do. 5 stars!!!!!! read more

The service is awful. After arriving at 5:45 on a Saturday night, I was told the wait would be about "an hour and fifteen minutes". We waited for two and a half hours before I asked why, and received the response of "people aren't eating as fast a we thought". Apparently this is the first week they have been in the restaurant business. Meanwhile, people were coming in sitting down and eating, then leaving and we had still not been seated. Mind you we were a huge party of two, but they preferred to give tables to parties of four, who came in after we arrived. After a short Wait my wife asked how many more were in front of us, and we were told five. Yet NO ONE who was waiting there came in before us.There were pregnant women waiting on their feet for hours, no room at the bar, no room except for an unheated vestibule, and a skinny hallway to the bathrooms. The three people at the front desk, were laughing and smiling, and even made comments like can you imagine if the party of twenty showed up!" I will never go there, recommend this place, or even drive by it for fear of being swallowed up by the vacuum of inept service. My wife and I had dinner there last Saturday night (4/19). Quickly seated and the service was quite pleasant. We ordered the fried clam app-nicely done-large full clams. Salads were good as well. Main courses chosen were the surf/turf 8 oz. tenderloin/shrimp for my wife with mashed and mixed medley. I had the 14 oz.tips with baked potato, lobster scampi and medley. Let me start by saying, this place used to be four to five stars but has drastically gone down hill in food and service. Arrived on a Wednesday to a busy restaurant and had a 20 minute wait so i was expecting greatness. Due to the wait, I'm sure the bus person was not able to wipe down the table properly and we were left with a stained table. After receiving the menu, i realized this place has totally changed what used to be delicious comforting Italian cooking to some type of fusion Italian/american chain feel. Not sure if this place was taken over from when the food was amazing to now where kitchen was lacking big time. I started with calamari which was delicious, light batter, great peppers and a pink dipping sauce unlike the usual marinara sauce (I prefer marinara). I ordered eggplant parm so i could get my sauce fill and wife got two of the lobster ravioli appetizers thinking it was the same type this place used to serve as a dinner. The raviolis were under cooked and served with a pungent cheese sauce which did not compliment the lobster. The eggplant parm was tough and chewy and tasted like a leathery tape. After one bite and my knife not being able to get through the layers of eggplant I had to retire my meal and end the evening with a disappointment dinner experience. This place took their classic Italian ambiance and traded it for a modern feel and in doing so maybe changed out some key kitchen staff and menu which resulted in horrible food. read more

I had been dying to try the Pasta House because of all the wonderful things I've heard, however tonight fell fall short from what I expected. I very much understand the circumstances restaurants are going through to accommodate and work with the "new normal" and regulations of COVID-19 however, two and a half hours without ever even being asked how our meal was is not okay from a service industry no matter the circumstances. Our waitress (Jacqueline P) had 3 tables total. Only THREE tables. She was good at the start, but never once came over to ask if our meal was okay (which it wasn't because it was COLD) and never asked us if we wanted another round of drinks. Nothing. She walked right passed our table after looking me in the eyes and sighed under her breath loud enough for me and my friend to hear. She only came back to get our money. Highly upsetting given the reputation this restaurant has. However, I have to compliment the waitress with a long blonde pony tail with an orange flower. She had at least 7 tables and was hustling. Two of her tables got seated after us and left before us. She seemed extremely friendly, nice, and efficient. Wish we had her! read more

Why does everyone rave about this place? It's meh at best. Not awful, just nothing special yet people stand in line for hours. If you don't get there for opening time you'll have a long wait. Once you get a table, you have to eat under the disgruntled glare of the waiting line. I won't be going back. The Airport Grille is 100 times better. No lines, no waiting, better food. read more

love this place. i have been a few times and have gotten something different every time. we most recently went saturday 1/17. everything was great! i got the veal oscar which was very good! my favorite bites had to have been the scallops alla pasta house and the creme brulee. everything was great. there are so many other things i want to try. i can't wait to go back! read more

I usually enjoy the Pasta House, but tonight while waiting for my table, my husband and I sat at the bar. The pizza person is making the pizza in front of you. I had no problem with that. He had gloves on as he was piling on the ingredients, but then he picked up some kind of metal pallet to retrieve the pizza from the hot ovens and that pallet handle was touching the floor and his hand was touching that handle. He then resumed making pizza! I didn't see a change of gloves. Then, he took away someone's dirty dishes and brought them to the kitchen..and then resumed making pizza for diners and take out. I couldn't help but think of the germs that could have been spread. They need to pay attention to this. It was gross. I wanted pizza, but there was no way I could order it after that. It made me worried about what goes on where I can't see. I was disappointed to see this. Please take care of this. read more

I am really surprised by all of the mediocre reviews. I've eaten here many times and with one exception, the food has been exceptional. (Stay away from the bolognese sauce...very watery and not true bolognese, just tomato sauce with meat...) The service has always been great and the atmosphere is inviting and the restaurant very clean. The prices are what they should be -- not cheap, just average. I vote for the place! Two comments on previous reviews... it's unfair to give a restaurant a rating if it was closed and you didn't eat there. Also, how can dipping sauce be bland and spicy? Just sayin".... read more

Was going to meet a couple of other sales guys there for diner and drinks on a Tuesday night, showed up about 9:05pm and the door was locked? One of the guys called earlier in the day and was told they served until 9:30 and the sign said they were open until 9:30. If you are around town this is a definite place to go! It has the finest and freshest food at the best prices. It's a very friendly environment and there are great people there. My wife and I visited the Pasta House last night for the first time and we were very pleased. The restaraunt was busy, but we were seated within minutes of arriving. The dining room was clean and comfortable. I had soup to start and my wife had salad and they were both very tasty. For our entrees I had Ribeye and Frites and my wife had Tenderloin Tips with Gorgonzola. Both were prepared exactly how we asked for them and they were delicious! Ordinarily we don't order dessert, but we did this time. I had sweet Potato Bread Pudding and my wife had Apple Tart. Both were really good! Our waitress, Kori, was friendly, pleasant and attentive. There were numerous things on the menu that we want to try, so we will be back. read more

We are a family of 4. We visited for the first time today, for lunch. The atmosphere was really inviting. The restaurant was thoroughly clean. Our server was perfect! We ordered the caprese salad appetizer & the portabella mushroom napoleon appetizer. We also had chowder & minestrone soups. Our meals were chicken parmesan, lobster roll, & the drunken clam pizza. My youngest child ordered a bowl of penne pasta with butter. Everything was phenomenal! The bill, for 4, including 1 glass of wine & 4 soft drinks, 2 appetizers, & the 3 soups came to well under $100 (without tip). We were really pleased & plan to be regulars! read more

Saturday February 27th. We sat at the bar and had our drinks in a few minutes.. Menus 10 minutes later... We witnessed 3 bartenders talking and leaning on the bar drinking all there waters doing nothing with a full bar.. We had to flag one down to place our order. They never asked us if we needed another drink and it took 25 minutes to receive our meal. After we ate we had to flag one down again to clear our dishes and ask again for our check. I have never seen such lazy inexperienced bar tenders in my life with zero personalities... I hope the management reads all these reviews so they can fix there issues for there own salvation before it's too late... Best wishes because you will need them with those three bartenders. Great spot for dinner. Be prepared to wait for a table on a Friday or Saturday night (they don't take reservations for parties of less than 6). But the food is very high quality and portions are generous. Prices are reasonable . They also have Gluten Free Pasta. We had someone with Celiac in our group and although our waitress did not know anything about Gluten or what had gluten and what did not have gluten, the manager came over the was very knowledgeable and helpful on gluten and what precautions the restaurant takes. read more

Going on a holiday to any restaurant is always a gamble. Mother's day dinner we decided to chance it and made 6:30 reservations here. We got to the restaurant a little early and we were given a pager. While we waited in the sitting area next to the doors and froze our toes off we noticed large groups of people leaving. A few groups of people who came in after us were seated a few minutes after the larger groups left. We are pretty patient and waited it out. Then 6:45 rolled around and someone got up and said something. The hostess said "your table is not ready yet" with a little bit of a 'tude. The other hostess/manager(?) cut her off and said "yes it is" and rushed us over to the round booth. First of all the trifold paper menus for mother's day were gross and had grease stains on them. C'mon did you not have enough printed out? My sisters and I got the clam chowder as an appetizer. My cup should have been called heavy cream with some potatoes. I had maybe 3 clams in mine. The bread they served was not their normal either....argh!! That really pissed me off. I got the Scrod with Saffron. LOL at the saffron because it was more like white fish that had orange rubbed on top of it. To boot it wasn't even hot! It was luke warm at best. Everyone at the table no matter what they ordered at the same 2 sides, mashed potatoes (which were decent) and asparagus. What the hell? I was so not impressed. The last three times I've eaten here have been lousy food and service. Granted I normally do pizza take out, and usually get olive oil and garlic base. Twice in the last three visits the pizza had Alfredo sauce. Ick! This last time I was specific with my order and when I arrived to pick it up, it hadn't been made and the chick at the take out register said, "It happens sometime, where an order just disappears." The Pasta House is great. I see these lousy reviews and imagine that the people who wrote them are the kind of people who go out to dinner looking to have a bad time. As someone who has chosen the restaurant industry as a career, I can tell you that the food is always superb and so is their service. I have never had a bad meal there, a bad waiter, or a bad drink. The wine list is decent and the specials are always creative and tasty. Order the warm cookie for dessert, and plan to have a drink at the bar before you sit, they are always so busy there is usually a wait before you get a table. read more

The decor is is really nice and the food is pretty good. The ambiance is the best part. They could amp up the menu a bit. But overall i would give it 8/10. My only other issue is that they do not take reservations. They do "call ahead seating" but not really. And the bar is always packed. We went to The Pasta House for lunch and I was so dissatisfied with the service. Usually the service is good but this time it was not the quality I expect of a restaurant like The Pasta House. We ordered fountain drinks in addition to the water they give but neither was ever refilled nor did our waitress ever offer to refill our drinks. My dish came out wrong after I had asked they leave a part of it off. I then had to wait ten minutes for a brand new dish to be made. When I did get my dish everyone else I was with was over halfway done with their meal. When she brought out the remade dish she was very attentive for the first 5 minutes after but quickly lost interest and didn't check on us again until everyone was done. Lastly, she brought over the check and we promptly put a card in. We had to wait 10+ minutes for her to come get our card to cash us out. Normally I wouldn't mind but it had already been a rather lengthy lunch due to the remaking of my dish. The food was great but the service left much to be desired and left me not wanting to come back for a while. read more

We got there around 7 and weren't out til 9 :30...our waitress kept disappearing, the salads had next to no dressing on them and the little dressing that was there was mainly oil. This was on a Monday night with next to no one in the restaurant so I can only imagine how the service is on a busy weekend. I had chicken marsala in which the chicken tasted like nothing and the pasta was extremely oily. Others at our table did enjoy their filet mignon, but for the most part we were all very disappointed. The bathrooms were freezing with no heat...I had my one-year old with me and would not dare to change her diaper in there....it was like being outside in the middle of February.
