We had to eat and run in 30 minutes and they accommodated us! Cute restaurant with old charm . Owner and staff super friendly . Lots of repeat customers as they greeted everyone like friends ! My penne bolognese was superb. Must come Back and enjoy slowly. Definitely make reservations .

Delicious! Actually fresh! We ordered the gnocchi al gorgonzola and the spaghettini burrata along with a red wine. Everything was perfection but that Gnocchi took the trophy! Youre served water and bread with oil/balsamic dip. Simple but good. It gets LOUD in there and space is limited but again, WORTH it!

Great local Italian restaurant with nice atmosphere! We had a great time for a birthday date. Their service is awesome we particularly love their prosciutto, tiramisu, and chicken afreldo! Their bread also tastes good! Reasonable price with great portions, would definitely visit again!

Bustling Italian restaurant in the heart of North Beach. They have great music and friendly service. They provide complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Highly recommend ordering: (Left): SPAGHETTINI BURRATA $21.00 Thin spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and burrata (Right): SPAGHETTI ALLE VONGOLE $23.95 Spaghetti with clams in white wine sauce The spaghetti alle vongole was too salty, but I have a feeling it wouldn't be like that if I try it again. The plates of pasta are shareable. We also had the: CAPRESE $16.95 with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil CALAMARI FRITTI $17.95 I think these two dishes weren't as delicious as the pastas. I would recommend to not order these two. So glad I ate here. I will be back soon!

This is the cutest little restaurant in North Beach. It's cozy and lively with a tight layout that fills up quickly, so reservations are highly recommended. Our reservation was for 10, but with the horrible weather and limited parking, only 6 of us made it. The staff was friendly, and very accommodating - even with our last minute group size changes. And they stayed attentive throughout our meal. The pasta was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked across all the dishes. Each plate was full of rich, homemade flavors that stood out. The desserts were very good also! The prices were very reasonable which makes it a place I will visit again. No complaints here - just lots of good pictures!

Bomb comfort Italian in the heart of North Beach. Has an old school vibe and feels like it's in a building with some great north beach history. We hit this spot up before catching a show at Cobbs and really enjoyed the pastas we had! I had a fish ravioli in a pink sauce which was AMAZING, my sis had the pesto ravioli and We tried the special which was an Amatriciana. We also had their dessert special which was some sort of limoncello torte on a shortbread crust... we all agreed it was a perfect way to end the meal! The waiter was so friendly and the owner was the one who recommended we try the dessert special so, he did not miss!

I've gotten the spaghetti buratta twice now. It's SO DELICIOUS!! The servers really know their wine pairings too which is incredible! Great service every time. Incredible food. The ambience is really cozy and fun. Just tried the tiramisu and the mascarpone chocolate cake. Both are to die for. Will continue to be back!

Great, casual Italian restaurant with delicious food & friendly service. I had dinner here recently with my cousin's son & his gf. We shared the caprese & calamari appetizers & I had the risotto of the day which was sausage & zucchini. The caprese salad was standard but the calamari was pretty good, not overbattered or overcooked & had a nice dipping sauce. My risotto was delicious & our server told me that it's his favorite menu item. The gnocchi was pillowy soft, not too chewy & had a light Gorgonzola sauce. The spaghetti with clams was also delicious (I tried a bite of each). For dessert, we shared the crème brûlée & strawberry tiramisu which was light & fluffy, not too sweet. Reservations are recommended (I made my reservations via Open Table) but they will take walk ins. They are not a big restaurant but can accommodate small to medium sized groups.

The pasta is perfect and flavorful. I got the pesto ravioli and the sauce was delicious. The ambience really gave real Italian restaurant with Italian music playing in the background. The service was very helpful and quick. Would totally go back and try the lasagna next time.

Small but charming restaurant. Very busy on a Saturday night at 7pm but they managed to seat us within 15 min with no reservation. We were seated in a bank of 4 (2 person) tables so it was a little tight. The octopus was tasty and not tough. The beans were an unusual addition but we didnt mind it. I got the sausage & onions pasta and he got the spinach pesto ravioli. Both of these dishes were very flavorful. We enjoyed dinner and felt it was a true $$ rating. All in we spent $88 (22% tip included). The waiter also brought us the cutest little almond cookies to finish off dinner.

Good food, great gnocchi, but expensive! Our waiter was so funny and friendly, and ensured that ladies ordered first. The free bread was great, too. Keep in mind that gratuity is included. The restaurant itself is super cute, and has two separate rooms. Awesome location in north beach. Due to the price I would be reluctant to come back but it was overall pretty good.

In town with the family for the week, we ask the kids "what would you like for dinner tonight?" The littlest one shouts out "Italian!" Of course. Italian. But isn't it always Italian? Nonetheless, whatever you wish my princess... We jump on the Yelp machine, and find this wonderful restaurant that can seat a table of four in about 90 minutes. Boom. Lock it in. Check in, get seated in a few minutes. Wonderful service and food came out fast. All four of us enjoyed our meals, generous portions, we did not finish, but we certainly did try! I personally went for the eggplant Parmesan, and I'm glad I did. Very tasty, I wolfed that puppy down. Eight thumbs up between all four of us. You can't go wrong here.

I had to stop in North Beach while I was in the city. I absolutely love the vibes in this neighborhood, which is kind of funny because, hot take, I am not a huge enjoyer of Italian food when it comes to pasta dishes. A cannoli here and an Italian deli sandwich there is about all that really gets me going. Pasta does not particularly excite me, and maybe I have just been looking in the wrong places, so take this review with a grain of salt. We made a reservation for 7 p.m. since Bocconcino right in the heart of North Beach. Tons of people were out, lights were flashing, and the energy was great. When we got to the restaurant, it was absolutely packed to the brim, which I imagine is pretty typical for this part of town and SF in general. That said, we were a few minutes early and were still seated quickly. It was so tightly packed that the servers had to constantly shift around tables with people still sitting at them to help new parties get in and out. Honestly, I found it kind of comical, though I could see it driving people who value personal space a little crazy. A lot of people would probably be turned off by how loud and crowded it was, but I actually enjoyed the organized chaos. Our servers were absolutely lovely and very attentive which made the whole thing feel fun rather than stressful. We brought a bottle of wine and the waitress kindly corked it for us. Complimentary bread came out a few minutes later. The bread was definitely freshly baked but not warm which was a bit of a miss, and the extra virgin olive oil was good, though I didn't think there was enough balsamic. Not super impressive, but fine. I ordered the Spaghetti Cipolla e Salsiccia at the waitress's recommendation and my girlfriend ordered the Spaghettini Burrata. The food came out quickly for how busy it was and the portions were generous. The Spaghetti Cipolla e Salsiccia is spaghetti with sausage, onions, and parmesan served inside a gloriously charred onion skin. It looked fantastic but was honestly a letdown. When the only ingredients are sausage, onions, and parmesan, you really expect big flavor, especially from the sausage. Instead, it mostly tasted like sweet onion juice mixed with spaghetti and bits of fairly flavorless sausage. It wasn't terrible, but there was not much nuance, no crisp on the sausage, no spice, nothing to really balance the sweetness. I asked for more pepper and parmesan which helped a bit, but it still leaned heavily sweet without any savory depth. I finished the dish, so it was not inedible, just not what I had hoped for. I did get to try some of the Spaghettini Burrata and thought it was much better thanks to the tomato based sauce, so I think I may have just ordered poorly and that one is on me. We finished with affogato which is always going to be great. This place was quite the experience, and even though I didn't love my dish, I would come back and try something else because the vibes were great and the staff were fantastic. If you appreciate authentic Italian food and do not mind a bustling, lively restaurant, this is a solid option. Just make sure you get a reservation!

The standing area next to the bar was also a cute spot to wait while our table was getting ready. Food-wise, we tried the crudo tasting while the other crudos were fine, they didn't stand out nearly as much as the scallop. The corn and mushroom pasta was very tasty, especially the sauce. We also tried the pesto pasta, which also had excellent texture, but the sauce tasted a bit more charred than I would have liked. Overall, I thought the atmosphere and dining experience were stronger than any individual dish. The communal seating and lively dining area gave the restaurant a great energy. I can see why this place is popular, and the tasting menu is a fun way to try a variety.
