Awesome coffee shop option in the lake forest area. The seasonal speciality drinks are my personal favorite and I love to also buy fresh coffee beans from here as well! The baristas are always so friendly and drinks come out right away. There is also plenty of seating area with outlets to work or study. read more

Looooove this place! Such a friendly, welcoming vibe with lots of open-plan seating. There are tables ranging from 2 seats to much large, as well as a small high top bar. They also have a great tea selection that is very reasonably priced. On my most recent visit, I also tried the sweet ricotta toast, which was delicious too. While there are not many power outlets available, it's also a good place to get some work done if you have decent battery life on your computer. 2022: 37/100 read more

Service is awful. I was told the coffee I just ordered would take 10 minutes as they brewed a new batch. They offered me an Americano instead, which I accepted, then proceeded to make me wait 10 minutes while they brewed the coffee. Definitely the b team working that day. read more

The coffee here is consistently delicious and flavorful. The space is spacious, making it a great spot to study, though it can get a bit noisy at times. While the baristas aren't the most welcoming, the quality of the drinks keeps me coming back. I tried the dirty chai, and it had excellent flavor with a nice balance--definitely coffee-forward. read more

What a charming space. Lots of people working, relaxing and chatting. Service was friendly enough; they have a long menu of customizations so I felt like I was being kind of annoying in looking over everything. I'm the end I got an iced coffee with a floral cold foam. I felt like the botanical flavor was lacking so was a bit disappointed. It's tough when coffee is $7; expectations get a little too high. The coffee itself tasted fresh if a little light. This place has decent coffee & I try to support local places rather than huge corporate places. I've been here several time and it seems each time I visit the Price just keeps going up and up. $7 for a 24oz Cold Brew is WILD to me. Then to add insult to injury, I ordered a breakfast burrito that was almost $9 dollars. When I got the burrito it was obvious that these are premade and just heated up. The eggs tasted like styrofoam, the ham they used is cheap lunch meat and there was one piece! The tortilla was super dry because it's premade and heated up. I legit have had better food from a gas station market. Not to mention the staff just isn't friendly. read more

This coffee shop is something special. My boyfriend came here with his brother a few weeks ago and he had been mentioning how much he loved the mug he enjoyed his coffee in ever since, of COURSE he had to take me! It's very spacious yet cozy so you don't feel crammed in there with loads of people but it still feels comfortable. Though they were super busy, Kelly made a point to talk us through the menu as she was fulfilling orders with her team. What caught my eye immediately were their "mocktail-like" specials, if you know me, you know I can't say no to a fun drink. I was struggling between the Pumpkin Cold Brew Matcha ($6.70) & the Muffin Man ($6.70) but after mulling it over in great detail with Kelly, I went with a 16 ounce Iced Muffin Man (more than $6.70 because I changed the size) & The Big Bird Sandwich ($8.95) My boyfriend chose a Nitro Cold Brew ($5.40), a Double Espresso ($4.25), & The Classic Breakfast Burrito ($8.55) We were able to grab a high table by the door & were given our items pretty quickly despite how busy they were. There's really not much to say, the Big Bird was amazing, there's a seasonal jam on there that I thought was phenomenal (it was apricot maybe?), I will say there was a ~tad~ bit too much jam but I'd much rather that than they skimp out on me, ya know? It shows they care! They also have really good turkey, that along with the sourdough is a good enough reason to get it. 9.7/10 The Muffin Man was yummy, I loved that I could taste the blueberry syrup and brown sugar equally, neither were overpowering to each other or in general, would definitely get it again (but my eye is on the Pumpkin Cold Foam Matcha next time) 9/10 My boyfriend enjoyed the cold brew and espresso shot, he's something of a coffee nut so he knows the beans and all of that better than I do, I trust his opinion. 9.8/10 He liked the Classic Breakfast Burrito, I grabbed a bite and enjoyed it as well although it was his second choice but the Haymaker Burrito doesn't come without Pickled Jalapeño so he had to pass (something about pickled peppers & coffee just doesn't sit well with us for some reason....) 8.8/10 As I'm looking through the photos, I remembered that we got a Vegan Cake Donut (Churro flavored) from the stand by the register. First time here. Cool vibe. Easy to miss though because it is past home depot. Lots of parking as it is in a shopping plaza. Lots of coffee options. Got the spiced mocha iced and it was delicious. The coffee was perfect. The drink wasn't too sweet. Lots of tables and sitting spaces. Folks at the counter are friendly and helpful when trying to figure out what to order. The menu is extensive with options for just coffee or flavored coffees. Can buy beans here and there are lots of options to pick from. There are pastry options as well. The Bodhi drip was okay at first. I had it black. After several minutes of cooling a bit in the heavy ceramic mug the flavors really opened up. The bedsheets scene with Harvey Keitel in Pulp Fiction comes to mind. It wasn't the best cup I've had, which was a Kona peaberry at a coffee farm in Kona, but it was pretty good. My wife had some kind of chai matcha latte thing that she said was very good. Too sweet for me, but we were both happy with our drinks. I look forward to trying their French press and pour over cups to compare, and will likely grab a bag of one of their fresh roasted whole bean. They have quite a selection, and beans are delivered every Friday, so freshness and CO2 preservation is assured. The line moves slow so don't go if you are in any hurry. read more

I'm not to sure how this place gained popularity. Maybe it was just today but the lady taking my order seemed miserable. Ordered a ham breakfast burrito and sausage breakfast burrito. The tortilla itself I was soggy despite eating within 10 min, the eggs felt like chewing into warm styrofoam, the first half of the burrito was pure eggs before getting to the any other contents and to top it off, the didn't put the ham in. The sausage burrito didn't do much better either. It was bland and lifeless, I wouldn't feed that to my dog . The coffees were just okay too. This place used to be really good as well so save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

I love their chai lattes and think it's one of the best chai lattes in town. The coffee shop is around the corner of Home Depot so it's a bit hidden. This coffee shop has a lot of space and tables for you to bring a laptop and chill or meet with a friend for a quick catch up. I bring my dog in often and everyone is friendly. read more

Rating this as high as I am for the quality of the coffee alone which was delicious, but their customer service seems to be lacking among the front counter staff. I walked up to the counter to place my order and the young lady working there dressed in the blue Boise state sweatshirt was rude and seemed unbothered to help me and any other person in line, almost as if me trying to place an order was an extreme inconvenience for her. I've frequented here for years and never had this experience prior but it definitely is making me think twice about returning in the future. read more

My favorite coffee house (all of them) the service at this one is amazing friendly fast service. Although fast is relative to what you order & how busy they are, fresh takes time. & no burnt coffee taste. That's worth waiting for. They have other treats to. I got a matcha latte here and unfortunately it wasn't very good. I love supporting local spots and wanted to love their matcha latte but it was very watery and did not have a strong matcha taste. The sweetener was too light and overall felt like it was drinking an iced water with a little bit of matcha. Perhaps their coffee is better so I will try that next time if I am in the area! read more

My go-to's are a vanilla latte and their classic breakfast burrito with salsa verde! So delicious. I highly recommend the salsas. What's better than good coffee and yummy breakfast though? I am sad to say that despite the fact that Bodhi makes the very best coffee and matcha latte's in South OC, I won't ever go back. The coffee is excellent. The service when the manager is there is excellent. But when she is not there - the service is simply inexcusable. When the manager is there it is a tight, well oiled machine and she is amazing. She remembers everyone's name, their order, and something about their life. When she is not there it all falls apart. Today my husband waited in the car while I went in. I warned him - this place is slow and it might take awhile. But 20 minutes for one matcha latte to go? He was getting frustrated and so was everyone else waiting before me. It wasn't even that busy. People were grumbling, starting to lose patience. I could not believe how slowly the baristas were moving. Every single movement - slooooooowwwwww, pause, slooooowwwww. I finally asked how much longer and they hadn't even started making my order so I asked for a refund - including the tip I gave. So - what's going on? Is it true what everyone is saying about the service industry, this new generation just not caring??? All I know I that I can't wait 20 minutes for a latte to go despite how wonderful the coffee is. And when I tell you that the people who worked there could not have cared less and had to be reminded to refund my tip too.... Love your coffee - but I won't be back. read more

Just moved to OC January 2022 and I'm on a quest to find my favorite third wave coffee shop. This is the 4th cafe I've tried. I ordered my usual, a cortado. It was decent and only $3.50! I also liked that they had agave syrup out on the bar with the sugar packets. This Bodhi location has a ton of seating both indoor and outdoor. I was in a bit of a rush after going to Baker Ranch dog park nearby so I didn't sit and enjoy my coffee but there were plenty of people doing just that when I went around 10am. The coffee was good but was 20 minutes from my house. I'd come again if already at the dog park but likely wouldn't make the trek to Lake Forest just for Bodhi. I'm glad they're there though. I come out from an appointment and go straight to the coffee bar. From the fall seasonal menu, I ordered the maple pecan latte. It was so good. By the time I headed over for a drink though, there wasn't much pastries left so I had to head home with one hand empty. Bummer. Service is usually quick and they don't seem to get very busy, at least when I'm there. Price is a bit on the higher end, however, you can taste the difference with that first sip. I asked the cashier what he would recommend based on my preferences and he came through with an absolute killer recommendation. If you purchase whole beans, they will roast them for you. The process will take 30 minutes, so keep that in mind. You will also have the rest of the beans for 4 to 7 days before being able to use them. I did not see any significant bloom but the draw time was great based on my grind size. Cons: This shop is too far and too small so if there is a line and you don't have time, you might have to skip the experience. While I don't anticipate Mameya expanding, I would come back in a while.

Both drinks were prepared and refreshed us instantly. The only minor downside is parking, which can be a bit tricky, but the location is clearly thriving with tons of foot traffic and business out front, so it's totally understandable. Once you're inside, the excellent drinks and friendly service more than make up for it. She was very bubbly and warm towards the patron (who was also a white woman) before me, who maybe seemed to be a friend or a regular. They were chatting for a bit and when it came to be my turn at the register, her face completely fell and she did not welcome me or say any greeting. Just.....silence........so I awkwardly ordered my drink. Once I said my order, she turned her head to the specials menu, and had a cold, blank expression, which made me think that it was out or that they couldn't do what I asked. I asked her if the drink I ordered was available, and there was a long pause before she dryly laughed it off and said that she didn't register what I was saying. It felt like a lame excuse and it felt so awkward; so I just tried to be as polite as possible and continued with my order. I wanted to just sit down and leave asap. It was so disorienting because she had acted in a completely different way with the girl before me. I just shrugged it off as a bad day, but when I consulted my friend about it, she said that the same girl acted in the same way towards her. And then I came here to write a review and saw that another Asian woman seemed to have a similar experience, so it doesn't just seem like a one-off thing....

The protein to tortilla ratio was perfect every bite felt balanced and the sauce absolutely carried it over the finish line. If you've had the breakfast burrito from Sobuneh in LA, this is probably the closest thing I've found in OC. Ambiance is so cute and minimal. Service is great. Also parking is so easy. They validate in the structure across the street and there are designated Stereoscope spots tucked away in the back of the lot to the right. Stereoscope REALLY did their big one.
