I can't claim to be any kind of expert in Turkish or Greek fare. I know what I like. I like fresh food, well prepared with obvious care, free from additives, served by someone who is attentive and polite. What I really like is engagement with staff, a great environment, comfortable surroundings and an overall friendly vibe. Bodrum delivered it all! We had 2 specials and a shared platter. My mom and I had the most delicious lunch we've had in ages at Bodrum, a Mediterranean restaurant in Venice, FL. We had the yellow lentil soup served with a lemon wedge and fresh warm pita bread. The soup was truly exceptional! Emery was our server and we followed his recommendations. I had the Adana pita wrap with char grilled grass-fed ground lamb and spices. The meat was perfectly cooked and so tasty. The pita was fresh and warm. My mom ordered the Bodrum pita wrap. The meat was excellent. The French fries served with the wraps were hot, crunchy and superb! I ordered hummus and tzatziki and freshly made pita bread to go. We will definitely return! read more

Pistachio Bomb? WHAT? Yes. Very nice Greek yogurt with red peppers, and a little of this and that, toss it on a pita... WOW! Enjoyed lunch for a family of six sitting in the breezeway. Four of us split two bodrum wraps and my vegetarian daughters split the falafel wrap--all were fresh tasting and delicious and the fries were crispy. We also ordered the mezze sampler with hummus, Baba ghanoush, and the dill potato dip, which my kids all inhaled. We shared the baklava and a turkish custard for dessert. Stumbled upon this little gem while visiting the area. We ordered the fish of the day, Seabass, and the meat platter. But first we started with the delicious special roasted pepper, pistachio and yogurt dip which was divine! Everything was fantastic and the Service was impeccable! I have never left a restaurant before, but this time I did. Upon arrival, the waitress was very unfriendly and did not even greet us. Because we wanted to give them a chance, we ordered a beer and a coffee and said that this was it for the moment. When she came back with the coffee, she also gave us the check with it, even though we did not ask for it. During all of this, we never heard a thank you and saw a smile on her face, not any other expressions of friendliness. Because this made us not feel welcome at all, we ultimately decided to leave. Something different in the 'hood. Get the "meze" appetizer for two of you or for four - just ask for extra bread as they give very little with it and What Is Up With The ONE Grape Leaf?!?! It's one inch big and just the one single solitary puny one?!? Really ? It's that precious? Two people are sharing- or, four! C'mon, you Bodrum people ! Grape leaves for everyone - let's start a movement. Or- just don't put one (ONE?)... But service is nice and fine and the menu while limited is alright. We stopped here for late lunch on a Saturday after food shopping in the area. First of all they have nice outdoor seating and well shaded ( there were 2 other restaurants that shared the same corridor) but it wasn't crowded at all. They were taking all COVID precautions incl paper menu. We were pleasantly surprised with the waiter's responsiveness and we had a nice chat about Turkey. The food was very good. We had a mezze appetizer we shared .We judge all Med restaurants on their hummus and babaganoush. Since we make our own, we can def say, it was all homemade and delish. I prefer mine with a bit more garlic and lemon but none the less, very good. We each had sandwiches , falafel and Adana lavash wrap (lamb). My husband enjoyed the lamb and fries. I couldn't finish my sandwich. Prices quite reasonable. I would like to try out their dinners , the halibut they had on special sounded amazing and the baklava. We will be back! The food is awesome! My husband wasn't sure about Mediterranean food but he loved it! Had the pistachio appetizer that was delicious! Gyro platter for dinner which the flavor was outstanding. Plenty extra for leftovers and another meal at home. Our server, Tansel, was fabulous! He took our orders in a timely manner and the food was served in good time. What a wonderful surprise Bodrum was for us tonight. Having recently moved to Venice, we are exploring our dining options and Bodrum piqued our interest. It did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and professional, especially our server, Deniz. The food was amazing. We ordered the Pistachio Bomb appetizer which was a delight. My husband had the mixed grill and I had the filet mignon kebab special. Both dishes were tender, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. 5/2/29 I have been to this restaurant several times and was generally satisfied. However, this time I ordered two plates of bodrum Kofte. The cup of rice had no flavor, the salad (if you can call it that) consisted of two thin slices of tomato and a few spinach leaves with little of no dressing. The patties were exactly the same as I have had before and OK. But the surprise of the the evening was the baklava dessert. Had lunch here today. Small menu. Cute, bright interior of a very small place. My husband and I opted for the gyro platter and a lamb kabob platter. We had the babaganoush to start. It was a nice large serving but only 1 pita came out. My husband and I commented that it was not enough bread for all of the dip. Turns out they brought another, keeping it coming out warm. We ordered for take out the Gyro over Greek salad....the salad was tasteless and had only 4 small pieces of meat on it. We ordered this salad all over the world and it always came loaded with Gyro meat. The salad also didn't come with any pita bread or dressing. $15 for basically lettuce and tomato. This turned us off so much we won't be ordering again. When I tried to call and talk to the restaurant the line was busy for at least 15 minutes. I can't believe this restaurant has gotten the reviews it has. My husband had to make something to eat at home after this. What a wonderfully special night last night. After being turned away at Burgandy Square because it was 5 min. after 8. We walked 50 steps to Bodrum. My new fav. small restaurant in Venice. It was outstanding. Not only the food, but the owners are so very charming and gracious. The staff couldn't be better. They make sure every need is met. So happy Burgandy turned us away. This place is AMAZING. And JUST what Venice needs, some diversity and a well done job of it. All around genuine customer service, quality food and authentic eats. The absolute only thing I'd change is some of the decor as the colors are Greek inspired but the decor is kind of a cheesy Florida theme.
