As a birthday preset to myself, I wanted to get a deep tissue massage. I'm a competitive powerlifter, so I'm tight all over the place. The one I got specifically focused on my neck, shoulders, and back. However, I felt like I couldn't rest with my masseuse. I had Mariam, and while she was nice, I felt like me being tight and tense was frustrating her. I tried to relax, and just couldn't. On top of that, the massage itself was just okay. No, I'm a pretty big dude (6'4" 310lbs), and certain times she was really getting the areas, but I feel most of it was just rubbing oil on me. The softer spots like neck and feet felt great, but my real problem area, back, was not feeling much different. Overall, I left quite disappointed. I expected a nice, heavy pressure massage, but got mostly rubbing, light pressure, and inhospitablity on certain occasions. If you're looking for something light to medium pressure, this is definitely the place for you, but if you're looking for something more, I would look elsewhere. read more

Minja is the best massage therapist hands down. I get the relaxation massage with back therapy. She adds hot stone for free if you are paying in cash. She will walk on your back if you want her to, just ask. She does so many things. Part of it feels like a massage, part of it feels like getting adjusted by a chiropractor. I've been going to her for years and usually feeling my best if I can get a massage from her about once a month. I've been to various other massage therapists in the past but no one compares to her. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL RESPONE TO THE MANAGERS SURVEY OF THE QUALITY OF OUR EXPERIENCE. I HAVE SUBSTITUED THE NAME OF OUR MASSEUSE WITH THE WORD "masseuse". We recently moved here to Fullerton and wanted to support local business so I did a Google search of the Fullerton area for spas and found you. I came in the day before just to check out the facility - it was clean and the woman who was there was very friendly. I made an appointment for my husband and I (he full body deep tissue full hour, and me back neck and shoulders, 30 min) for Friday after work (5:30). I mentioned it was going to be a surprise. When we arrived for our appointment, we filled out the information/questionnaire sheet. I excused myself for the restroom, when I exited, my husband was in the room with his masseuse (the door was open) who was questioning him on the type of massage he was receiving and asking questions regarding the lower back. I stopped and mentioned that I had ordered a full body, deep tissue massage for him (she had already told him the price) she told me she was just confirming and checking to see if there was an area to concentrate on. My experience... My masseuse directed me to room 7 - I wasn't sure what she was doing so I waited. When I entered the room I noticed there was a questionnaire (form for new customers same type I filled out) on the table in the corner I thought it was mine - it wasn't mine. It must have been the woman before me. I figured Masseuse was going to retrieve my form and return to confirm my information. When she arrived she was surprised to find me standing in the room and asked me if the door was locked, I said no and she advised me that I would need to take off my clothes and get on the table. No offer of a towel, no form, no confirming any of the information I filled out. * My masseuse was friendly, she mentioned she was relatively new to the facility. * I forgot to bring my hair tie and had nothing to pull my hair back with -I was offered nothing. I can't believe I'm the only one who has ever forgotten a hair tie or clip. * I wanted my lower back worked on and mentioned this. * Masseuse seemed to prefer to work on my left side and concentrated on my shoulders. In fairness to her, I had a cramp around my shoulder blade when I was adjusting myself on the table. * During the massage, I mentioned 2 additional times that my lower back was the focus. * Perhaps because she is new she doesn't read body language very well - using the forearm is great but after you've worked the area a little. She went right in between the ribcage and the hip which made me flinch. At one point I actually moved away from her that's when she asked if she applying too much pressure. When I said yes, she went to the shoulders and neck! * The majority of the time was spent on my shoulders, neck and arms (primarily left side). I wouldn't have minded that except that I'd mentioned 3 times that I wanted my lower back worked on. * During the massage she had her cell phone in her pocket - her cell phone vibrated in my ear a couple of times. Over all... My husband said that his masseuse worked his lower back more than anything (maybe we should have switched!) and his service was "okay". Mine was less than average, but I chalked mine up to the fact that I had someone who was new. I know you're not Spa Gregory, Burke Williams, or even Massage Envy, but I think there would be a couple of small things that would make a difference: 1. Make sure all customer information is secure. I was amazed that Masseuse didn't even look at the form and left it on the corner table. I know you're not a medical facility but it made me very uncomfortable. All I could think of was my information and where it was. 2. Have a small supply of hair ties - even cheap ones would be better than walking out with my hair full of oil. 3. If we don't walk in with your "New Customer Coupon" maybe offer a smaller discount on the spot - its a token and would have been appreciated. It's the thought! it's better than standing there and hearing another client mention their coupon off the web. I spent $125 ($65 for his and $40 for me - we tipped $10 each). I tipped Masseuse because she was new.... if she hadn't told me that the tip would have been more like 10%. Because we put the tip on the credit card (I paid) I didn't have a chance to ask my husband what he thought. I would not recommend your spa to people who are used to going to a day spa like Spa Gregory, Spa Montage, Glen Ivy, or Burke Williams. I would recommend you to someone who is not used to spa's, is looking for a relaxation massage, and is on a budget. read more

Every masseuse is different and it takes time to find the right one. Even if it's at the same place. I came here for my 3rdnd time and tried a new masseuse named Liz. I cannot convey how amazing she is. She knows where all my hurting spots are without me even asking. She has a deep enough pressure to leave me fully satisfied. Ok, so I REALLLLLY wanted to like this place. I just moved from Long Beach to Brea..and I LOOOOOVED my massage therapist in LB, but was tired of driving out there every 2 weeks for massages. So, here is my yelp regarding BodyCentre... I like the actual environment. The location is good, parking can be an issue if you're going at popular evening times, but I've always found a spot. The place is cute and cozy but their massage therapists really aren't that good. At least the 2 I've had. I'm not a particularly picky person, I give people and places a fair chance. My first massage was with Deanna, who I liked overall. She had a very nice, calm, happy vibe about her...but her massage was just lacking. Not enough pressure, super light at some times where I could literally barely feel her. Granted, I did get the "relaxing massage", and it was mostly relaxing, but I left feeling like I needed more. So my second massage was a week later and I chose Minja based on all the reviews here at yelp, and I must say I'm sorry I did. Her customer service is VERY poor. She did not even greet me and introduce herself, she just rushed me back into the room and said "face down" and then disappeared and left the door wide open. She did no consult with me at all. Finally when she came back in she started her massage, her fingernails were so long, I could barely stand the first part of the massage because I was being scratched the whole time. Her pressure was good, but those nails...it was really uncomfortable. Next, she did these really weird "stretching" moves on me. I was so scared that my shoulder or my hip or my ankle was going to pop out of it's socket!! Especially my right ankle, which is weak from multiple sprains in the past. I was so scared when she kept pushing on it in a direction it doesn't want to go. She applies WAY too much force during the stretching. I'm actually really surprised no one has been injured, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen in my opinion. If I wanted to stretch I would go to a yoga class, I needed my knots massaged out. Her movements were rough and not fluid at all. I've had a lot of massages, being an RN, I need them after 3 12 hour shifts, so I know the difference between a good masseuse and a bad one. I'm really bummed out because the place is nice, it's clean and the price is right, but I haven't received the customer service I desire or the massage I desire. I feel like I WASTED my hard earned money. And to top it off at the end she asked how I was paying, and I told her credit card and she seemed perturbed. She said if I pay cash she'll give me a discount. I think it's safe to say I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. read more

I was able to get an appointment that day and arrived there 45 minutes later. The facility was clean and atmosphere relaxing. The receptionist was friendly. My masseuse was Kiera. She was kind and attentive while listening to my concerns. I told her about the knot in my back and general aches. I had a 1 hour relaxation massage with a focus on my back. She did great! She applied just the right amount of pressure-I like moderate pressure. For my back, she used a more intense pressure and focused on my muscle knot. Massages are important to me. I see them as important for my health since i work out every day. Been looking for a place to go every week. Which has been difficult during COVID. My first visit was pretty good. The person set my appointment was friendly. I arrived for my appt. The masseuse was nonchalant but she gave a pretty good massage. Cut to- almost two months later (have been traveling for work) I call..same person answers but this time she is rushed very short and bit on the rude side. Now everyone cannot be their best version all the time and she was busy so ...ok. Now when I get there the masseuse comes to get me..I will get back to the lack of customer service..She gave a good massage. I have knots in my shoulder from working out (that's why I get massages often) I tell; them before I come in, before I get on the table and before they begin..I need it strong on top. So after my massage the Masseuse adds $4 to my bill. I pointed out that it was incorrect. Yes, it's the principle not the amount..She said there was a $4 up charge since I requested more pressure. Really? I have traveled all over. I have been to top of the line spas and corner hole in the wall parlors...NO ONE HAS EVER uncharged for more pressure. Not only is it stupid (because if I asked for less pressure would it had been less?) but why then was there no additional charge last time when I got the exact same massage. And why did the person on the phone not state so when I specified what I wanted several times. Back to customer service--no one expects you to break out the song and dance routine upon my arrival however acting like you are doing me a favor does not make for "regulars". I felt like they were in a rush to get me in and out. Almost as if I was a nuisance. I am polite. Well educated. Business professional. It would have been nice to be greeted with a "hello" "have you ben here before?" etc ---I would think that would be basic. The disappointing part is they give good massages...but who wants to give a nickel to any place that makes you feel "less than"? My BF went here and he was the one that recommended it. I sometimes wonder why is it that men seem to get better customer service than women? And is it because I am petite minority? I am just wondering. I started coming here when I moved to Fullerton back in 2010. I still come here even though I moved out of Orange County back in 2015. I've been to many places and none of them can compare to this establishment. The rooms are very clean, the water is crisp and the masseuses that I've experienced were all fantastic. Not one of them had a hang nail. Minja is the last masseuse that worked on me and even though she's a woman of small stature she possesses then strength of an Icelandic powerlifter. My boyfriend and I scheduled a couples massage for an hour with Minja and Ana and our appt. was at 1pm. It's real easy to pass this by, and it's in Downtown Fullerton. They have a parking lot behind their building and that's where the entrance is. We came at around 1:05pm and went inside. Once we entered, Ana directed us into our rooms right away which was surprising, because usually you have to wait for a few min. in any other store. The couples massage room set up was really soothing and romantic in a way. There was peaceful music already playing and the room was dimmed and well-decorated. We got into our beds which was super comfortable (first time getting a massage, so I can't compare lol) I requested Ana and my boyfriend got Minja. What I thought was really cool is when they say full body massage, they sure mean it! ahah The massage overall was AMAZING, that I almost fell asleep and my boyfriend DID fell asleep! I had just got back to working out the day before so I was sore and Ana sure helped in stretching the muscles and relieving the soreness. They did our whole legs first, then back, neck, head, ears, arms, hands, and then they made us flip over to lay on our backs, and repeating the process. The towel was bit hot, but I adjusted to it. And both Minja and Ana are naturally heavy massage therapists, so my boyfriend and I both agreed that it was a bit painful on our back lol but we were just too shy to request softer. But Im really happy about the massage on my legs and arms and neck, pressure was perfect, it felt AMAZING! Overall, their techniques are great! Just don't be like us and speak up if they are going too hard. Once our massage was done, I had requested more hot towels so that I can wipe off the oils off my body myself (she didnt really take off the oils thoroughly), but unfortunately they don't have extras :/ We got dressed and I forgot to mention but there are also chocolates when you enter the room (not enough, but they do give another bag if you request one afterwards). We walked to the front desk with little cups of water waiting for us, and then we paid and left. This is my first experience getting a massage and I would go back. On the other hand, my boyfriend has experienced others before and he said he's had better massages but this was ok, but he wouldn't go back because of the price. read more

So surprised to see so many good reviews here. I guess everybody has different expectations for massage. I went with my boyfriend for an 1-hr couple's massage. I specifically asked for Minja and one more person who's good at deep tissue massage (asked for Minja since I noticed some of the reviewers were saying she was good at deep tissue massage). And wow, I was extremely shocked at how they do "deep tissue" massage. They were just like swedish massage with a little more force. Both of us kept asking for more force since both masseurs were not putting enough pressure. I like to shop small local businesses when I can and my husband recommended that I try BodyCentre. I needed therapeutic massage for my neck and shoulders and I was glad to see that the website specifically offers this type of service. I chose the one hour session with Alba and I booked my appointment on-line. It was easy to find an available time. From the outside of the building I wasn't sure what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised to see the nicely decorated interior and well-appointed treatment rooms. The person at the desk was very friendly and was expecting me for my appointment. Alba was right on time and gave me an excellent massage, checking in with me during the treatment to see if the pressure was right. My neck and shoulders were much improved by the next day. Now, I'm not an anti-social person, but when I get a massage, especially when I'm getting one because I'm in pain, I don't want to chit chat. I've been to Massage Envy in Brea several times and the massage therapists always want to talk! Plus, their massages feel very "assembly line" even when you ask for something specific. Not so with Alba. She was focused on fixing my neck and she let me rest quietly while she worked her magic. If you had to twist my arm and ask for any constructive suggestions, I'd say that it would be nice if there was a little area where you could sit after your massage to relax a bit. Also, just a minor detail, after your massage they offer you water that's in a little plastic Dixie cup from the water dispenser near the door. But these are just minor observations. I can really recommend BodyCentre. I think it's especially great for those seeking therapeutic massage and with the reasonable prices and extensive availability of appointments, it is great for folks who need massage on a regular basis - like me. We got a gift card for a spa treatment so we figure we would try this place since it's nearby. We decided to get an hour of the neck and back massage. My masseuse really didn't seem to be that skilled and had no idea how to loosen up my knots. My husband asked his masseuse to put more pressure since she was just rubbing him, and she told him that was the extent of what she can do. Just the right amount of pressure, it was both relaxing and worked out my knots. I got the Swedish with back concentration. She did deep tissue ony areas that needed it and I can move better now. I went yesterday... I got an hour of deep tissue and 30 min foot scrub.. I got Debbie for both. Customer service was great. Nice and polite. The massage was great. She asked me from the pressure she gave if the pressure was good or if she needed to adjust it. That is what every massage thearpists should ask!!! She also asked what parts particularly hurt and etc... ^_^ She seemed very professional. If I wanted to talk, she chatted with me... and when I wanted to relax she did her magic.
