I've kept up regular maintenance and the dealership services Gunn Acura performed on the vehicle make it a still great experience to drive daily. But when I do decide to buy again I will look at Gunn Acura first, their service department & their staff have made a lasting experience on me, time & time again & have stepped up when another dealership failed to. Brandon P. was my main point-of-contact and he is supported by a team of employees at Gunn that I interacted with and I'd like to recognize, the service desk women & men staff who at different times greeted me as I drove in to the service drop-off area & made sure I was being helped, the older gentlemen who replenished the snacks & drinks at the waiting areas & maintained the restroom vanities; all were a part of a positive experience. The service dept. performed the work anyone should expect when they take their car in for warranty repair/or after warranty repair to any repair shop, even more I would think from the car manufacturer's dealership. About the service, I received the services I requested and paid for the parts/install (windshield, not a warranty item). On my own I had recently performed an oil change, cabin air filter replacement, tire rotation & battery replacement, so when those services did not show up in the Vehicle Multi-Point Inspection as work needing to be performed, I was confident that the recommended services identified in the inspections would soon be needed and not just a checklist of added services, my car was truly evaluated by the technicians and only items needing attention were noted. I opted for 1 of 3 recommended services noted in the Vehicle's Multi-Point Inspection and was thoroughly explained all findings with no pressure to say yesterday at any time. Through the whole process I was kept informed of progress and was sent photo updates of work performed. The work took a few days & I had expected and was told that as well, so it was OK with me. I wanted my OEM windshield's adhesive to set properly and have time to seal well, even though I've seen many other cars drive around town immediately once their windshields get replaced with blue tape keeping it in-place. I wanted to give the service dept. enough time to get parts and service the vehicle without rushing the mechanics/technicians. The car was returned to me looking better than it had when I dropped it off and the new windshield looked great. Service department Facilitator/Concierge (Brandon P.) provided an exceptional customer experience to myself and my 2023 Acura MDX SH-AWD. From the moment I requested service for a broken windshield w/ HUD, Brandon coordinated with the (other Acura) dealership that sold us the car, insurance and windshield policy, all the while keeping me informed of cost, insurance approvals (coverage), and our OOP. Along with the windshield, we came in to service/fix other issues we were experiencing w/ the infotainment system, a door seal and other small inconveniences you could expect from a 3-yr old car. This is the second time I've brought my car to Gunn Acura for service. Both times I've received the same exceptional service and welcoming demeanor to understand the car's issues and providing remedies. Unlike the dealership where I originally bought the vehicle (300 miles away), they have repeatedly disregarded and failed to return calls for the issues/concerns I've notified them about. A complete about-face compared to when I sat at the finance officer's desk and they were selling me the car, extended policies, and more; promising I wouldn't have to worry about the car because they would take care and service it; lesson learned on my part, I was the fool who wanted to believe the dealership would stand behind the product. She was insured by USAA so I took her insurance info and filed a claim. I can't speak to how it worked on her end but on mine it was great. I had expected that I would be put off and they would try to send me to a low rent repair shop where they would use cheap knockoff parts or parts salvaged from a junkyard. NONE of that happened. USAA sent me to Cavender Collision Center, the body shop department of my GMC dealer, Cavender GMC Buick North. This is a good as it gets for body work in San Antonio, Texas. Cavender made the repair using new GMC OEM parts; replaced the bumper, including the step and the decorative chrome strip, painted it with a perfect color match, and it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. They also replaced the damaged sensor. The little plastic trim item in the driver's door that covers the bolt that holds the latch mechanism together had broken and fallen off. I had intended to order a new one but hadn't gotten around to it. They replaced it for no charge and didn't even mention it. Yes, I know the little part was not expensive but it was a kindness that I didn't expect. The driver-side low beam headlight was out and I had bought the replacement bulb but hadn't installed it. Cavender installed it with a smile; no charge. The bumper repair was flawless; beautiful job. Paint is not easy; especially automotive paint. Whoever painted my bumper is an artist. It looks like factory. Kudos to Samantha Romo, Cavender Collision Center receptionist, and to Conrad Muth, my Cavender Collision Center service rep. Well done. You guys turned a potentially miserable experience into a trip to the supermarket with my wife; not an experience I look forward to but one that's necessary and you made it as painless as possible. Sometimes the right people turn a potentially miserable experience into an opportunity to meet them. If you need body work, I highly recommend Cavender Collision Center. They charged me a reasonable amount for the work they promised to do and the quality they guaranteed, I did not receive that level of quality. It looks great from 10 feet away, but up close there are multiple nibs, bubbles, cracks, drips and pin size holes. The car was a full restoration and the interior was brand new before dropping pff, including the wiring, gauges and dash. Every time they painted, even the fixes, they left the interior full of dust and they sprayed primer on my new TMI seats. They claimed they could get the paint stains off, but never did. They talked me into removing the drip rails and convinced me it was going to look smooth and sleek. It was a mess, with gaps the first time I received it, after I took it back to fix, they did not fix the mess only the gaps, and over-sprayed leaving a noticeable line where they tried to ouch it up. They promised that they would remove all separate pieces and paint separately and then put back together, they did not. Pieces eventually cracked away from the body. They even sprayed primer over my chrome trim and could not even properly replace my windshield trim. I would not trust them with any car, especially a classic metal car. I do have a warranty, but do no trust them to fix, considering they had 2 separate chances and could not complete the work. Their communication is ridiculous, will completely ghost you for days via email, phone and text. Will even set appointments to review the vehicles progress and then not show up to the shop. Also was told they would precisely line up the doors, hood, trunk and fenders, they did none of that.
