Aside from that however, The Bloo Moon features an atmosphere unlike most places you'll find in San Marcos, which is really saying something. The music is always good, usually a mix of Canadian indie and electronic music and nothing in between. The guy that runs the place though, bless his heart, seems like he's always high on something. I think his name is Lenny? Whatever, he's a cool cat. Also, side note, this place features a strange array of Metric posters, not that I'm complaining. I guess it fits in with the whole Canadian theme. Be careful not to step on the doge that sometimes appears on the dance floor as well. Basically, visit The Bloo Moon if you crave dancing your ass off to Canadian indie bands and enjoy a dark, mysterious setting. Also, children get in free on Saturday nights! I take my family here!!

The bar has a really cool vibe - old storefront with windows that open to the beer garden. Plenty of outdoor seating, food truck, and live music. We took a peek in the dance hall - smaller than Gruene or Mercer but looks like a fun place for a night out with friends! Definitely check out their upcoming shows to see who is playing (so far most of the music lineups are just for the beer garden). The bathrooms are outside and were clean at first but got dirty quickly. They desperately need to refill the soap dispensers! This is definitely a spot for local and bikers - so expect some smoking and engine noise. But overall a great place to relax under the giant oak tree.
