I've visited this place several times at different hours for that quick hotpot craving and also tried their other locations. Unfortunately, the food here just doesn't measure up to the Culver location. The restaurant feels cramped, the floors are sometimes sticky, and it's so loud I can't even hear myself think. Service is consistently slow, and if you come within 1-2 hours of closing, they'll tell you they're shutting early (this has happened every time) and only offer takeout. Adding onto the cramped; If you stand in front of a worker on accident some of them get mad and say "excuse you" angrily. Then proceed to not serve you until you pay. Pro tip: never get the soups with meat to go. The meat turns tough, and at that point, you're basically paying five times the price to finish cooking your own meal. Bad representation of the company brand. Would spend the extra half hour to go to the Culver location. read more

Came on a Saturday night around 5pm no wait but it filled up within the hour very quickly! We had 2 beef soups one mild (slight spicy) and one super spicy! Meat portion was good! They do rice refills too now! Servers were Attentive and constantly offered soup refills and water refills which i appreciated! Tables were clean! We never have issues at this location everyone is very nice! Great meal for a cold night! read more

Other than the long wait & the tiny space, I've always had a great experience here. I've had sat in tinier spaces in Taiwan. Food is delicious & service very good. This is where I take my friends when they want to try hot pot. I love their lunch special where it comes with a drink. Always eat it with their garlic soy sauce! Must have!!!! read more

Service is very bad and Boya is the worst. She is very rude and unpleasant. She is the worst one here. I don't understand why she still works at the Boiling Point. BP had a good reputation and she threw it to the trash can. Anyone sees this message I urged you stop coming to this location so they can treat their customers better. I've been to a lot of boiling point locations and I've always felt like their service was sub-par because the servers never really tended to my needs in a timely manner, but this location is very different. Maybe it's because it's a smaller location, but I can tell the service here is a lot better. Whenever I need something, I can always easily grab a server's attention within a minute or two. One server that really stood out to me was Joshua! He was really kind and always checked up on me to see how we were doing. If you see this Joshua, I appreciate you so much and keep doing what you're doing! Other than the service, food is great! I always get their milk cream curry, but I have dabbled in other flavors. Another one that stood out to me was their Taiwanese spicy, BUT I only recommend that bowl if you can handle spice because that bowl got me SWEATIN. read more

Food is always consistent through the many years I've been here. I love coming here for their lunch specials because it comes with a free green or black tea along with the personal meals. Menu is on the QR code on the side below the table. Most times, the service can be better but it hasn't really changed much through the years. My eldest daughter and I just visited the Lavender Festival at 123 Farm in Cherry Valley. Thought we swing on by Boiling Point for some hot pot soup. I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time. It was a warm Sunday, but hey, it doesn't matter when you're indoors in an air conditioned restaurant. Internal body doesn't know it's hot outside LOL. We got here between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM so there was no waiting at all which was nice. So remember, go here between lunch and dinner hours to avoid their peak periods. We ordered the Beef for my daughter and Seafood & Tofu for me. We normally go for the medium spice level, but the gentleman who took our order said he can't handle medium so if we're not into a lot of spice, then mild will be best... we went with mild. However, we think the Beef came out with medium spice because it was spicy hot LOL. Seafood & Tofu was mild for sure. Both soup pots were very good. They come with white rice or vermicelli on the side. Pots were steaming with steam until the end LOL. Tons of fresh ingredients. Good portions of sliced pork. Funny, my Seafood & Tofu had Chinese cabbages at the top so I couldn't see what was actually in my pot until after I removed the cabbages... presentation was a little off there LOL. We also got a couple of their drinks... Pudding Sweet Milk with Boba and Lychee Green Tea... yeah, we're not sure how we feel about them drinks... not exactly their specialty LOL. My drink was milkier than I would have liked. Lychee green tea was a tad off in taste. We'll pass on their drinks next time and go to 7 Leaves afterwards instead. We also tried their passion jelly... it was okay. We ended up ordering a couple hot pots, Miso and Korean Bean Paste and Garlic Pork Belly, to go. Good portions for sure. We didn't know until later on that some pots automatically come in large size while other pots are just the standard size. I'm going to go for the large size next time LOL. Staff was pleasant, but they could smile a bit more. Then again, they were wearing masks so we can't really see their sparkling whites LOL. However, their smile would shine through their eyes. Our order came out timely. Prices were reasonable especially nowadays with everything going up. Parking is plenty... they are located in the same center as Costco so you know there's tons of parking. If you haven't tried Boiling Point, do go and check them out. They do have multiple locations. I've only been to this one in Chino Hills. Happy Hot Potting! read more

Stopped at this branch post covid and it was just as good as I imagined it. As one of the few Taiwanese hotpot places around, you get your bang for your buck here. Albeit the pots are shallow, you will still get full off the bowl of rice and the amount of ingredients in the bowl. My favorite is the milk cream curry and the curry flavor is well pronounced and perfect with the bowl of rice. My wife gets the beef pot mild spicy and trust me when the mild spice is all that you'll need. This location gets busy so be sure to get there a little before the peak hours. read more

Boiling point should fire manager in this location! Worst management and customer service! I tired to order take out by the phone 2 month ago and literally, they just pick up the phone and hang up immediately that so pissed me off so I didn't eat them for a while. And today, I tried to order again and they picked up the phone and put me on hold 10 minutes and then hang up the phone, I was on my way to go there. So I changed my dinner plan NOT eat boiling point. Thank you for the kindness service ever! We went Friday lunchtime around 11:30AM for a party of 3. They open 11AM-11PM. They removed the middle tables in the middle due to COVID-19. You can order for takeout and it's probably better than dine-in now because of the long wait. I know there's usually a long wait for this place but that day was too long. We waited over an hour and there was people already there waiting before us and even longer. There was no one in the front to seat guests even though there was empty tables. There was a lot of people waiting outside and no waiters were there to clear off the table. You could tell that they were understaffed and that there was a new male worker. During lunchtime, they give you either green or black tea. We were ready to order right away because we waited so long. As soon as we were seated, the customer service was better. They give you sauces in the plastic containers. We ordered the house special, curry, and Taiwanese. The hot pot wasn't as good as before. We waited about 20 minutes for our food and we stayed there for about an hour. The two waitresses that were helping us that day were really hardworking and they were faster. It isn't the worker's fault, but the managers for the understaffing problem. read more

great place for a date with friends or family! been coming to this location for years, but the service is a hit or miss as your experience varies depending on what day or time you visit. in overall, this location does have a long wait if you visit on a certain weekend where the weather's a bit cold. the shop is pretty small so it doesn't fit too many parties at once. their beef, korean, and seafood are my go-to's. food - 8/10 customer service - 7/10 read more

Love this place! I always get the House Special, and the serving size is huge. I had a good amount of meat and enjoyed the stinky tofu,blood cake, and intestines...I urge you to be adventurous and try it! The service was fantastic, everything came out fast and they always came around for refills. You even get a little jelly at the end with your bill. number 65, we ask where is 64? She said 65 is for a small table; we are a party of 4. I understand that, so I keep waiting. Outside it was freezing, and we stood outside for 1.5hr; suddenly, we received the "table ready" message; then we went inside, and a young male said we already had a "NO SHOW," and the table was going to give to the next party!!! WHAT THE ...!!! At our party, everyone was here for over an hour and talked to one of your team members already when you called the last party. And it's 3 minutes from we received the text message!! This young male is ignoring us and keeps saying this is our fault because there are THREE MINUTES LATE SINCE WE RECEIVED THE TEXT MESSAGE!!! Do you know where the 3 minutes go? All three minutes are used to debate with you! Young man. WE STOOD IN FRONT OF THE DOOR FOR 1.5 HOURS! AND TALKED TO YOUR TEAM MEMBER ALREADY ONE HOUR AGO!!! He insisted he would give the table to our next party, not us! Eventually, that next party is a show. I think he must be baffled what the meaning of NO SHOW???!!!???!!! For anyone who hasn't been to Boiling Point, they specialize in serving individual sized hot pot that comes in a variety of different flavors. Some of these include their House Special, Korean Bean Pasta, Taiwanese Spicy, Milk Cream Curry, Tonkotsu Miso, and Thai Tomato. If you aren't the adventurous type they also standard hot pot flavors like Beef, Lamb, and Mushroom Veggie. My favorite item to get here is easily the Korean Bean Paste since the combination of ingredients in the hot pot melt together perfectly. The dish itself comes with bean sprouts, nira, zucchini, kimchi, pork belly, fish tofu, fish cake, tempura, rice cake, enoki mushroom, fish fillet, noodles, lobster fish ball, crown daisy, seaweed, and Korean bean paste. These ingredients provide a nice rich taste that isn't overbearing which I truly enjoy. Staff members are also friendly, though at times when it gets busy they aren't the most attentive. Parking should never be an issue since the lot is big which a nice plus. Definitely recommend trying this place if anyone has not been! read more

I love the hotpot here even though it's not completely traditional where you have to cook your meat by yourself. The broths, meat and wok noodles are AMAZING! I ended up getting about a 1.5 lb bowl with the bone broth, and the portion was just right. I was worried about the broth being too oily, but honestly it wasn't at all. You can also add noodles to your weight, and they have a variety of different types, from ramen, udon, etc. They also have a pretty good sauce bar to make your own sauce. Parking is very easy in a large parking lot located in the plaza. Overall, my first experience here was a positive one and I will certainly be coming back.

The restaurant is large, filled with plenty of tables, and very clean--everything feels brand new. While the Latina hostess wearing black spandex pants couldn't manage a smile even though we mentioned we were first-time visitors, the Asian servers were wonderfully kind. To the business owner - Thank you for the delicious meal and the thoughtful ways to elevate our ramen.

They also offer a Cambodian broth that sounded really intriguing. It's shrimp and peanut based, and I already know that's what I'm ordering next time. The self serve bar had a good variety of veggies, seafood, and sauces so you can really customize your meal however you want. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive throughout the entire meal, which always makes a difference during AYCE dining. To top it all off, they included ice cream at the end. The ube and vanilla flavors were the perfect way to finish everything off. My only small ding would be the bathroom, it's not in the best shape. Probably best to use one elsewhere if you can. Otherwise, the food really hits and I'd definitely come back.

If you don't have time to read about my last experience just remember these two things: 1. double check that their card machine is working. 2. beware of plastic boiling in your soup. I have the worst experiences here and don't know why I keep coming back. Maybe it's the convenience of hot pot on a cold Chino Hills night. At first, it seemed like service improved since they first opened because I heard a server ask another table how things were and if they liked the food... stuff like that. As I was close to finished with my bowl I found a piece of PLASTIC (see posted photo) shriveled up at the bottom of my pot (this is the point where I can be overly dramatic and say that I could potentially get cancer from ingesting soup that had plastic boiling it for a while... but I will refrain from the drama). I showed one of the servers and she said, "I will show this to my leader." She came back with a stamp card saying that I can get a free drink the next time I visit. That was cool of her leader to give to us as an apology. Then I brought the credit card to the cashier and left. The card was returned back to us because the credit card machine stopped working... they said it stopped working very recently, but there was no sign... no notice. The waitress Michelle was incredibly apologetic about this and shared with us that there's a bank around the corner in the same plaza. I went to the register and explained to them that we didn't have enough cash to cover our meal so we needed to run to the bank quickly... They said we could run to the Chase across the way to withdraw money if we left a personal item with them. They suggested to leave a cell phone.. We have BofA. So I said... are you going to pay for our transaction fee because this was your fault. She said yes, but deep down inside told her what I felt comfortable with. I said to the cashier very clearly, 'I do not want to go Chase and I do not want to leave a personal item with you. I want to go to my bank without leaving anything here and return with the cash.' They seemed fine with that. So I got the cash from the BofA near Ranch 99. When I returned the cashier didn't even remember me and I had to explain the situation again. As I was explaining the situation the boy behind the counter who makes drinks listened and then LAUGHED... to which I looked him in the eye and said, 'I don't think that's funny.' He said sorry. All in all... this place needs much more refinement in areas like customer service and quality assurance.. I did notice that their servers speak more English than before. I also think the girl Michelle is the only one that is the most customer service oriented. I will not be coming back ever again. read more

This place smells like stinky stinky tofu, but after awhile you kinda get used to it. The food is pretty decent, but customer service needs major improvement. If you need a quick meal, this is not the place to go, since it takes awhile to even get the food. Make sure you bring a taiwanese friend with you because they do not speak English well here. #1 house special was a big mistake (we thought it's always safe to get the house special, boy were we wrong!); it had stinky tofu, pork blood, and pigs' intestines in it, bleh! #4 beef hot soup was probably our best pick and #6 curry fish ball hot soup did not have much curry flavor at all. When we were ready to order dessert, they told us they ran out of green tea shaved ice and after we finished our dessert, we later saw a green tea shaved ice served to the table next to ours, what the heck?? We even got charged extra for ordering a non-flavored simpler shaved ice with a few toppings. The waitress didn't tell us it would cost extra, nor did the menu indicate extra charges. We tried reasoning with the waitress in hopes she would subtract the unreasonable extra cost, but she didn't understand English. At the end, we just took off the difference from the tip. Terrible customer service, long wait, and all that... for food you can get at Rowland, which is just a 10-15 minute drive away. If customer service was better, I would probably come back. read more

My friends and I love hot pot, and Boiling Point used to be our go-to spot. However, we previously had a bad experience at the Rowland Heights location. One of my friends practices Islam and specifically requested no pork, yet his hot pot still came with pork meatballs. Since then, he has refused to return to Boiling Point. Last night, we were craving hot pot again and decided to give Boiling Point another chance--this time at the Chino Hills location. My friend once again emphasized no pork, repeating himself twice and clearly stating, "No pork, no pork meatballs please." The server acknowledged and said, "No problem." Despite this, when the food arrived, my friend found pork in his hot pot after just a few bites. We will not be returning. Boiling Point is a chain restaurant and may not care about losing a few customers, but I truly hope management reads this and addresses this ongoing issue. This kind of carelessness is unacceptable in any restaurant. If a customer with a food allergy had made a similar request, this could have resulted in a life-threatening situation. My friend's night was completely ruined, as he has never consumed pork due to his religious beliefs. It's extremely disappointing that this has now happened twice--and both times at Boiling Point. I hope this matter can be taken seriously and ensure staffs can properly accommodate dietary restrictions in the future. read more

I recently visited this spot with a friend, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We were barely greeted when we walked in and were seated without much attention afterward. It took a while just to get drinks, and when they finally came, my canned Coke was served with a small plastic cup that had maybe four ice cubes. I actually watched the employee scrape the very last bit of ice from the container -- and instead of refilling it, they just served it like that. The service overall felt very unorganized, almost like the restaurant was being run by teenagers who hadn't been properly trained. No one checked on us, and it was difficult to get basic requests handled. When I asked for a to-go cup for my soda, they told me they didn't have any and were going to give me a plastic cup with no lid... which made no sense. As for the food -- it was mediocre at best. It lacked flavor and definitely didn't live up to expectations. This place seriously needs upgrades in both service and food quality. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend it. Don't waste your money -- I know I regret spending mine here. read more

The wait times can be pretty long, especially if you go during peak hours, but trust me, it's worth it. I've waited up to two hours before, and I'd do it again for their quality. The biggest thing that bothers me about this place is it is too crowded. There is like 6 inches to walk between chairs of people who have their backs to eachother. Unless you're sitting in a booth, people are most likely to bump into you. Because it is packed with people most the time, i feel it hinders with their quality of service. Last time i came here, my fire was very low and went out in like 5 minutes, which kept my food warm only. Whereas other times the fire was too hot and dried up my soup. I just find it troublesome that i have to ask them about the fire most the time. I dont particularly love coming here because of it. Other than that thought the food is good because of the variety you get. If they could fix those problems i have i would probably come here more often. read more

How bad can the service be? I read other reviews and thought they were exaggerating. They were absolutely right. worst you'll experience. They don't speak English. I would expect that out in MPK and maybe Rowland Heights but not in Chino Hills. Perhaps its because they don't know english that they'll ignore and try not to help... who knows. The waiting area for a table is a single chair. Also, unless you're into stinky tofu, you won't like the smell of this place. If you're into it, this place is heaven for you. So it just depends on your taste. Food was okay. Nothing extraordinary. They never seem to have adequate sauces. I ended up picking up the whole container and pouring what was left into my dish. read more

I recently visited Boiling Point in Chino around 9:00PM, and despite the bustling crowd (the place was 90% full), we were promptly seated and our orders were taken efficiently. We opted for the hot soup and the house special hot soup, both of which were consistently delicious. After a chilly evening, nothing beat the warmth and flavor of their soups. The ambiance exuded a cozy family atmosphere, adding to the overall experience. Although we waited about five minutes for our food, it was well worth it. Every dish served was incredibly tasty and satisfying to our palates. The food is decent, sauce is always good. SERVICE is always BAD! Not enough people working here, and all of them are youngsters, they don't have any working experience. You want to know why there is always a long wait?... thats because they don't have enough people to CLEAN up the tables. 2 empty tables, still have to wait 15 mins to be seated. Come on now, the owner should know better to have at least have a few experienced waiter or waitress there. The new ice-cream icy might look really tasty, but trust me, you will regret it.. it doesn't taste good AT ALL. I would never come here again... nor would I recommend this place to anyone. Came here last week and waited 30 minutes to have my table given to someone else who didn't wait nearly as long as I did. I approached the waiter and gave him a piece of my mind just to get a smug look back in return. I was really excited to try the food and I heard a lot about this spot and have been seeing a lot of social media posts about their ice cream macaroon dessert and thought I'd try it to see if it was hype...But I guess I'll never know. I can imagine how bad the service might be for new business...but the service here is far worse than BAD! Came here for lunch with my family one afternoon, they have four or five workers but none of them are really doing their job. I can totally forgive the new workers since they might be still under training but one of the tom boy looking girl which I assume is the supervisor or manager has the WORSE service! With this kind of worker in the store, I promise that I will never come here AGAIN!! Other than the bad experience with their service, we also got a fist size shave ice that cost nearly $6...totally not worth it!!! read more

My group of six had to wait quite a while to be seated. We tried to be patient, assuming they were busy. After 20 minutes, we were finally shown to our table, and our anticipation for the meal was evident. I can say that the hot pot was satisfactory, but it took a long time to start boiling. Every time the front door opened, it became quite chilly inside. Once our orders were taken and brought to our table, we rarely saw any staff checking on us. They didn't circulate to see if we needed additional soup. I understand they can be busy, but for a hot pot that comes at a premium price, attentive service should be a priority. read more

My favorite place for dinner on a cold night. The waiters waitresses are polite, and services are above average. The food are great with a variety of selection. The prices are little high, but we pay for with we get. They have reward program which are a plus. But take away one star from this restaurant is a heart breaking. Boiling point has one of the best hotpot menu around this area. We usually get the tofu hotpot and the taste is the closest to authentic hotpot that we are used to. The place gets really busy after 12 noon. Overall the service is decent and the dishes are prepared quite quickly. Since it gets packed up quickly, I think the owner should expand the establishment to prevent the long lines. Overall, I would recommend this place to friends and family. read more

Honestly ! It's a bomb hot pot place, but ever since they raised the price quality has gone down, the beef hot soup is my favorite but now it's FULL OF CABBAGE . Barely any other toppings or meat . It's only worth it lunch time because it's 12.99 and you get a free drink . It's a total rip off other wise ! Come here for lunch because the price you pay is cheaper and you get either a free green tea or black tea. Sometimes the wait can take a long time to get rated but they have an app. Very useful to see if the wait times is long or short. I like the house special or beef. Don't forget to download the app so you can collect the points! read more

This is the Taiwanese individualized hot pot and the taste is very good. Mainly, I'm hooked on the food taste. My only gripe is that the restaurant is too small and there is always a long line at all hours. The staff tries to give a good service but it is busy. However, their service and treatment towards their customers is an entirely different story. Yesterday we decided to dine in and I know have a different experience and will probably not ever go back. The woman working there truly hates her job and is incredibly loud and rude. This is not the Taiwanese experience that probably most people expect, which is warm, pleasant, helpful. She is literally barking orders to customers and shouting instructions and order numbers out. For instance, we ordered 4 bentos and instead of her checking with the cook when everything was ready, she called it out one by one and was annoyed if we didn't immediately get it. Every little thing seemed to upset her, why is there even a sweetness level to winter melon tea when it's not possible, and she wanted to let us know how annoyed she is. The food took incredibly long to get. 3 out of the 4 bentos took 15-20 minutes, and the last item took another 15-20 minutes so we couldn't even eat together at the same time. If you enjoy being scolded by an old asian lady who glaring at your table while you eat, and walking by barking orders at anyone in general, "you need to throw away your own food!" It's like, lady, we aren't even finished yet. For the price of the food, you would expect much better service, or at least someone who hates their job but keeps their muttering and bad behavior to a minimum. Or perhaps invest in some robot servers who can bring out the food without guests having to walk up several times to retrieve every single bento box. If I wanted this toxic environment, I would go see my mother and mother in law. Needless to say, it was so off putting that I will stop supporting this place.

However, we are paying full price, and we hope to at least receive the full level of service that comes with it. In general, the standard KBBQ sides did not arrive until we pointed it out midway through our visit. Just last weekend I tried one from Tasty House in Chino hills by 99 ranch, and BD cafe's version is by far the superior dish! The meat was perfectly marinated with flavor, juicy and tender to bite. The recommended thick noodles are chewy and has the perfect amount of Q. I was recommended the spicy version and boy was it just the right amount. Not for the faint of heart but not intolerable. It came with the side of "salted vegetables" for ultimate authenticity. Only thing I would say is I wish the salted vegetables are bigger pieces for more chewy goodness. The waitress was also very honest with me and not trying to make a sale like other wait staff often does. When I wanted to order spicy wontons, she looked at me with a questionable stare. I am a direct person so I asked what's on her mind. She suspected I wouldn't have room to eat the wontons with the hefty noodle soup, and she was right. 1 hour later, I am still sitting on the couch at home feeling full!
