    Honey milk green tea

Boiling Point is a Taiwanese style individual hot pot restaurant that started in Southern California and now has locations all over the country and beyond. This location in Irvine is in a plaza with ample parking. When you arrive, put your name on the Yelp waitlist to get seated. I got the beef ($20.75) mild which came with meat, veggies, soup, vermicelli noodles, and a side of rice. It was a big portion and was filling. We also got the garlic pork belly appetizer ($6.41) which was a smaller portion. It had decent garlic flavor but it tasted better with my custom dipping sauce. Speaking of, there are a couple table-side sauces that you can mix together to get the flavor you want. They have a variety of different soup bases including other Asian flavors like Korean bean paste, Japanese miso, and Thai flavor. Coming during lunch will result in fewer crowds but also the price is cheaper and includes a free drink.

Glad to see that they've maintained their standards! The menu offers a decent range of pot flavors to choose from and is pretty similar to their other locations. The quality of everything is still great, and I recommend coming before 3pm to get your complimentary tea during lunch hours. They've added a couple of new items on the menu every so often, so be sure to keep an eye out for those. I recommend getting their Beef or Thai-flavored pots with vermicelli if you've never been. * Thai: 10/10 - great flavor and has both meat and seafood * Beef: 9/10 - variety of veggies and beef with flavorful broth Compared to the other Boiling Point locations, this one is probably one of the more spacious ones with plenty of seating and booths. The lighting is also a lot brighter since the tables are lined up against the windows, so there's tons of natural sunlight coming through. The workers were very attentive and helpful during our service compared to the last time we came. The restaurant is located in the popular Heritage Plaza in Irvine, so it will definitely get crowded at peak times. We can't wait to come back!

Boiling Point is one of my go-to comfort food spots in Irvine. I almost always order the beef hotpot at medium spice, although the spice level can be pretty inconsistent, sometimes it's genuinely spicy, other times it barely has a kick. One thing they do really well is portioning. They're generous with the amount of beef, and I always appreciate that they provide extra broth without issue. It definitely makes the meal feel more satisfying compared to other hotpot chains and can easily get 2 meals out of your leftovers. The biggest downside has consistently been the service. Every time we've gone, it's been slower than average, so it may just be an issue with this particular location... That said, the food itself is comforting and reliable enough that we keep coming back. Their house-made bean sauces are also a standout and honestly better than a lot of other hotpot spots around.

I tried Boiling Point in Irvine and honestly really liked it. The whole setup is kinda cool. They keep a little flame under your soup the entire time so it stays hot while you eat. It actually makes a big difference and keeps everything tasting fresh. I ordered the Taiwanese spicy hot soup, the beef hot soup, and the milky rose hot soup. The Taiwanese one was definitely spicy, like actually hot, not just a little kick. If you like spice, you will be into it. The beef hot soup was easily my favorite. It was super flavorful, really comforting, and just hit the spot. The milky rose one was interesting. It is more creamy and a little sweet compared to the others. Not my go to, but fun to try if you want something different. Overall, solid spot. Good portions, good flavor, and I would come back for the beef hot soup for sure.

Food? YUM! Deals? EXCELLENT! Service... what happened?! Been a regular at Boiling Point for years! My go to is their lamb pot, and a lasting impression was always the generous BED of napa cabbage at the bottom of the pot at end of my meal... each time satisfactorily FULL! I like going for lunch cause it comes with free black or green tea (can get unsweetened). A special perk? Go on your ACTUAL BIRTHDAY for a FREE hot pot & drink! (ID required) And get this... the drink you pick can be ANY specialty drink! It's such an amazing and tasty value!!! They recently renovated both their exterior & interior, which is cool - more modernized. Downside? Besides inflation... their service has REGRESSED... From the last time I went, there was surprisingly soooo much staff on the floor, but from the moment we walked in, no one greeted us nor made eye contact to help get us seated. (At the time, no wait-list because there were tables available). It took over 20 minutes to find someone to take our order, and afterwards getting a napkin, relighting the pot, or even refilling broth required us going up to someone - no one came to check in, I'm not even sure if we got a dedicated server. Robot delivered our pots. While waiting for our food, we also observed food pick up folks standing around and other customers waiting for someone to acknowledge them for awhile. Even when two people, clearly not customers, walked into the restaurant and started asking each table for money, all the staff turned a blind eye to it. I love the hot pot but not sure I'd come back after this experience.

Out of all the boiling point location in orange county and long beach county, this place would be the worst one I ever visited. Before I was fully seated, the server immediately asked us to order. We were given no time to look at the menu from the qr code. Next, the cleanliness is not there. I leaned back on my chair and my shirt immediately got stuck to it, leaving stains on it. When asked the server if there's anything to wipe or clean, she said she'll get it but never came back. Lastly, the taste is very different from the other locations. There's no flavor on the meat, and the bean curd was very tough and chewy. A lot of the meat is stuck together and hard to separate. Would definitely recommend visiting elsewhere.

I came here on a Thursday night for my sister's birthday, but didn't have the best experience unfortunately. We put ourselves on the waitlist and finally got a text to check in with the host. When entering the restaurant, there was no host in sight and all the staff looked busy and did not want to acknowledge us. I finally got someone after 10 minutes and we were sat. Immediately, I noticed the tables were dirty and there were little bugs hanging around... Nevertheless, we had already waited so long and wanted to celebrate the bday, so we ordered two beef pots with a side of garlic pork. I have been to BP before and this location too, but this time I noticed the sizes have gone down significantly and their bowls have changed. It felt very upsetting because since the sizes went down, there was significantly less broth it could hold and the staff was slow to check up on us to even get more broth. BP usually gives packaged jellos at the end, but I guess they switched to small cups. When it came with my check, all the jello spilled all over the receipt and felt really gross. Overall, I am pretty bummed by my experience and will likely not return

Love bp as always. They got rid of the stamped fish cake thing and replaced it with the pink fish cake :( Also tried the tomato beef rice. It was good and had some spices. Tasted kinda like gyudon. Prefer the scallion rice.

An hour wait on a Thursday at 3:30pm?
    Alfred Timothy C.

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the Irvine location. I brought a friend visiting from New York, and we waited approximately one hour for a table for two at 3:30PM. During that entire time, there appeared to be little to no sense of urgency from staff. Many tables remained unbussed and messy while several employees were standing together talking. When cleaning did occur, it was done slowly and without visible coordination. At one point, we were next in line and staff nearly allowed a party behind us (#7 in line) to be seated ahead of us. If it wasn't for my friend saying anything, that party would have gotten sat before us for some odd reason. The workers also had a snarky attitude towards my friend who was visiting, which I did not appreciate. After waiting so long, especially while it was raining outside, the lack of organization and communication was extremely frustrating. Once we were seated, the service issues continued. The worker taking our order was huffing and puffing. When our food came, it sat behind us on one of the service robots for several minutes while an employee nearby appeared to be on their phone and another was bussing tables. After waiting, I stood up to bring the food to our table myself, at which point a staff member abruptly yelled, "NO, STOP, I WILL DO IT." Do what exactly? Nothing? His tone was unnecessarily aggressive considering the food had already been sitting there unattended for several minutes. Even more concerning was the complete lack of table service. No one came to check on us. No one offered water when we ordered spicy soup. No one asked if we needed anything or if everything was okay. There was zero follow-up after food was dropped. For a restaurant with a long wait and visible staffing gaps, basic hospitality, especially something as simple as offering water or checking in, should not be overlooked. The larger issue was the overall lack of floor management and prioritization. Running hot food should take priority. Clearing tables efficiently during a wait should be a priority. Guest communication should be a priority. Instead, it felt disorganized, inattentive, and dismissive. I enjoy Boiling Point as a brand, which makes this experience so disappointing. This did not feel like an isolated mistake, it felt like a breakdown in service standards and management oversight. I strongly encourage corporate leadership to review staffing, training, and operational flow at this location. Management is beyond terrible at this location, and the staff has no sense of urgency. This experience does not reflect the level of professionalism the brand is known for. I would appreciate follow-up regarding how these issues will be addressed.

    Allison P.

BP never fails. There's a reason why it's everyone's default hot pot spot. Without fail, I always get their Milk Cream Curry pot. It's warm, comforting, and hits the spot every time. They're really not shy with the toppings at this location and will pile it high with tons of meat, fish balls, and veggies. I couldn't even sneak my vermicelli into the pot until mid-meal! My only gripe with BP is the wait. Everyone and their mom loves it and for good reason. Try to get there right when they open or come ready to brave the wait. Pro-tip: You have to stop by during lunch (before 3pm) for a free drink! You get to choose between Jasmine Green Tea and Winter Melon Tea.

    Jenny P.

This time around was not the best compared to the other times I've been here. Service was super slow and we weren't being checked up on for water refills or other issues. Hotpot still hit the spot though!

Show up right at evening opening to even have a chance at getting a table without waiting 1-2 hours. Struggle to find parking. Order food and it kind of takes forever. While waiting for our food, we almost always start to wonder if it's all worth it. And then every time, once the food arrives, that conversation gets dropped. We always order the Manaao Pork Jowl and Khao Soi with braised beef. We also typically order a noodle dish as well. As always, their Khao Soi is fantastic. The flavor is deep and the curry is rich. The beef is always cooked until it falls apart between your chopsticks. The one we were a bit unsure about was why they started to serve the pork jowl with no sauce on the side. We feel like when we first started ordering the dish, the sauce was lightly drizzled on top and served on the side in a small ramekin. Now, all of the sauce comes on top of the pork which seems to have made the dish a bit colder and less crispy. Still, the flavor is dialed, perfectly sweet and tangy. Their noodles are also always fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned. This visit we decided to try a new curry, and went with the Chu Chee Curry with Fried Catfish. This dish blew us away. We were immediately surprised by the generous portion of catfish, which seemed to be a full fried filet. At first, I felt like the batter may have been too thick for my liking. It seemed to be so thick and fried that it would taste crunchy rather than crispy if that makes sense. However, once coated in the curry sauce and enjoyed with the rice, the textures work together perfectly to maintain the crisp of the fry on the fish, which was cooked just right. The curry was light, which meant it didn't overpower the subtle flavor of the fish. We also ordered dessert for the first time off of the recommendation of a friend to try the rice balls in coconut milk with coconut ice cream. The flavor was amazing, and the texture of the rice balls (think mochi but more soft and tender rather than chewy) was very pleasant alongside the crunchy bits of fried mung bean. Our only gripe was that even by the time the dish reached our table, the ice cream was mostly melted. If anything, I feel like serving them separately would help maintain the temperatures, and enjoying them together in that way could create a more satisfying contrast. As always, Manaao is our favorite Thai spot in Orange County. I definitely recommend.

Our Canadian Ukrainian relatives and friends said--without hesitation--that it was the BEST pierogi they've ever had. And you know it's true because there were no leftovers! On the other side, our Indian family and friends were thrilled to try something new, and clearly became instant fans--we saw plenty of people going back for second (and third!) helpings. We're so excited to keep ordering from them and sharing their food with our ever-growing circle of friends and family. Thank you so much for helping make our celebration so memorable and special!

It's so rare to find a team that genuinely cares about making customers feel welcomed and happy. As for the food: we ordered the fried green tomatoes, fried okra, and the two-piece chicken plate with mac & cheese and collard greens. LET ME TELL YOU, WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! Every single bite was perfection. If you're looking for authentic, amazing food paired with unforgettable vibes, this is the spot. Exceptional--Possibly the Best Fried Chicken in Orange County…read more I was surprised to see a few negative reviews because our experience with Gus's Fried Chicken in Santa Ana was exceptional. This is some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. It has a true Southern-style flavor: perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and just enough of a spicy kick without overpowering the chicken. The Louisiana hot sauce packets are nothing fancy, but the simple vinegary heat pairs perfectly with the chicken. The fried green tomatoes were excellent, and the barbecue baked beans were seriously good as well. My only regret is that we didn't order the collard greens and mac and cheese--I'll definitely be trying both next time. We ordered delivery, and everything arrived hot, neatly packaged, and in great condition. The customer service was also excellent. Even the leftovers reheated beautifully in the air fryer. For my taste, Gus's beats the Korean fried chicken spots, the other Southern-style chicken restaurants, Crack Shack, Raising Cane's, and the other popular fried chicken places around Orange County. The flavor and seasoning put it in a different category. Absolutely superb. Five out of five, and easily one of the best fried chicken experiences in Orange County.
