Came here on a cool Friday night really craving some hotpot. I love this style of hotpot where the pot is already prepared for you, instead of shabu-shabu or AYCE. My go-to is always the beef pot, and this one did not disappoint. It was packed to the top with beef and toppings. The thinly sliced beef soaked up the broth perfectly, and I liked that vermicelli noodles were already included, it gave a nice change in texture. My favorite part though has to be the fish cake; always love when that's in the pot. We had a group of six and only waited about 30-40 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. Once we sat down, the food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Service was great too, our waiter kept checking in on us throughout the meal. Overall, a really good experience. I love coming to Boiling Point when I'm up in Irvine. It's such a delicious place to get some comforting soup. You can share or get your own bowl if you're hungry. I got the house special soup and I love the way it tastes with the tender pork and delicious veggies that soak up the flavor of the broth. You also have to use the dipping sauce that's af the table, it adds another layer of flavor on top of what you're getting in your pot! They also light a little fire underneath the pot to make the soup boil. It stays lit for quite some time which is nice. Definitely come here if you're looking for something quick and casual. With special fixings of blood cubes, stinky tofu, and intestine, this pot has everything you need to transport you back to Taiwan. I like to get my soup medium spice and create my own mixing sauce on the side with the condiments at the table. What I love most about BP is the option to continue to add broth to your pot. The staff are very accommodating if you need additional toppings like cilantro and green onion. I also love to add additional quail eggs because it makes the meal feel more hearty. BP also serves quality drinks too! I opted for a passion fruit green tea paired with my meal and it was such a lovely choice with a hot broth. Service was fairly quick and came out using the automatic robot server. A server also met us at the table to bring out the pots to us and lit the flame so don't worry about having to grab the dishes yourself. If you are coming during busier hours, expect to wait a bit as the lines do get pretty long. Getting my check also took some time as I noticed there was change of staff and a different server that met me at the end of my meal. If you know me, you know I looove Boiling Point, and I finally got to try this one years after the Irvine Reservation on closed. My go-to order will always be the beef hot pot, spicy, with rice (because it already comes with vermicelli in the pot), a side of instant ramen (if I'm splitting the plot with another person), and either the spicy tangy beef or garlic pork belly (this time it was the spicy tangy beef). I also paired my meal with their wintermelon tea, because it's been so hot lately! The quality of food here is probably one of the best, because my hotpot was actually spicy! I love the consistency of Boiling Point, but this one somehow tastes better! We had a trainee server who was friendly, but also very straight to the point. Usually busy at night so walk in to put your name down on the wait-list! AC is a bit high in the restaurant so I personally bring a light jacket when I go. Usually a bit hard to get servers attention but today was great! They were super attentive and checked in on us as well! Loved how friendly and helpful the servers were that night. Ordered the beef pot and lamb pot. You can customize how spicy you want it too! You get a side of rice or noodles to choose from with each pot too. Comes with a good amount of veggies and meat! Some hot pot places really skimp out on the meat so I like how Boiling Point gives you a good amount of toppings! Don't forget to get refills on your soup. I also got a side of spicy tangy beef to try. It was okay, not to my taste. It wasn't tangy at all, just tasted like boiled meat with cumin seasoning. Service was really good today. I've been here a few times and it was always difficult to get the staffs attention. But today they were very on top of their service, was very surprised! Ambiance was good as always. Horrible and dishonest communication between the manager and the customers. There were 15 parties on the waiting list and at least 7 empty tables left uncleaned for over 45 minutes. Being the party second in line, you can see how frustrating that would be for us to see after already waiting 1.5 hours. And then when we asked, the manager would simply just tell us 10 more minutes again and again. Then he proceeded to tell us what menu items were not available which we said is fine bc we planned to order the other items that were available, yet still refused seat us. We watched the workers walk back and forth picking up one dirty napkin at a time from each table. We even timed a guy, took him 14 minutes to clear a table of two. After we gave up and drove around the back, we noticed a boiling point truck unloading. I suspect they ran out of food and were keeping people around by telling people "10 more minutes" over and over again. Pretty disingenuous business practice if you ask me. Here are some tips, hire a manager that (1) understands how accountability works (2) how business and customer happiness go hand and hand and (3) how to get their staff to work efficiently. Used to love bp as a brand but service at this location is absolute sht. Highly encourage the company to come and fix management and retrain the staff. read more

I used to go here all the times since my sister lives a few blocks away and we always went here when I went to visit her. Just went to check out the Tokyo Central supermarket next door this afternoon since my sisters were saying how busy they were when we went to the buffet last night. As I walked out of the supermarket and saw Boiling Point, I decided to eat here for dinner. Waited almost an hour. Checked in at 6:15 pm and my number was not called until 7:08 pm. Once seated, I had to wait for another 35 minutes for someone to come and pick up my order ticket. This reminded why I haven't been back all these times. Just do not have the patience nor the time to wait! And of course, I totally forgot and ordered the "beef". It really wasn't "beef" because it was 95% fat with very little beef, if any. :) Everything else was good as usual but the "beef". I left all of it behind and only ate the veggies, noodles, and other things in the pot. Fortunately, there were three little pieces of tofu in the broth and one half piece of meatball as other source of protein. If you like fatty meat, you'll love this meat (beef) option. read more

BOILING POINT @ IRVINE I have been to multiple locations of Boiling Point in Seattle, but this was my first time in a location in California! This was SO GOOD! Free parking here in the complex, but there was a huge line, and there are no reservations, walk in only. That's the downside, the wait is pretty line and you have to input your party and number through a tablet. You'll then get a text when it's ready and they will seat you. My boyfriend and I got the beef soup which I highly recommend, boiling point does a great job having a variety of different bowls and flavors you could choose one, and the spice level. Food came out fairly quick in less than 10 minutes, and the food stays hot as much as you want with their flames! The only reason why I lost the star was because there was a fly in my boyfriend's water and they didn't really care to acknowledge or apologize besides just get a new water for us. Customer service was missing, no one asked how the food was or if we needed anything, and if we did, you didn't really have a server because there was multiple people working different roles at once. To be honest the main con was that all but one item on the menu had sea food in them. As someone who doesn't eat seafood, this was a bit disappointing. We love this place for hot. When it first opened (before COVID) there used to be lines for one or two hours! Thankfully, that rush is over and you can usually get seated with 30 minutes on most days. I think the miso and Korean are the best. My son always gets the miso with extra pork. My wife alternates between the beef and the seafood. None of us like the more exotic stuff like blood sausage so we haven't tried any of those. Here are some tips: - I always take out some of the cooked things temporarily (eg fish balls, tofu, etc) to make room for the vegetables. That way you can push the veggies down into the boiling broth. After it's all cooked I put them back in. - remember to ask them to extinguish your flame after everything is cooked and it's all hot. No need to scald your mouth. - you can always ask for more broth. And you'll need to if you get the instant ramen. But you can also add broth for a couple other reasons: to make it a little less spicy or to cook t it off if it's too hot - the milk tea is great if you like it spicy but find that your tongue is burning. The milk will cure the spiciness. - lots of people eat with the chop sticks, but I prefer to stack little bits of all the ingredients on the spoon so every bite has all the flavors. read more

i've been going to boiling point since i was in middle school since it's just a quick and casual spot to enjoy some hot pot and have always gone to the location in garden grove. i decided to try out the location in irvine with a friend since they close later and i would say the experience was just okay. this location was also quite busy, even on a weekday. definitely don't be expecting great service, at least at this location. we checked in when we received our second text message and one of the employees just said, "okay" and left without letting us know if there was a table being set up for us or if maybe there might be a longer wait due to there being unavailable tables at the moment. we totally understand if they're busy, but just an update would've been nice. when we got sat, our waitress was nice, but even after we received our food, we had to flag someone down to help us get waters and spoons for our meal. no one really checked up on us and it was always us trying to find someone to help us with something. we both got their beef hot pot and as always, it's been good and consistent at every location. we also wanted to get their hokkaido and old time/old fashion milk tea, but i think they discontinued those milk teas at this location or for all locations im not sure, but it's such a shame cause those were their best milk teas! i asked our waitress for her favorite milk tea instead and she recommended their honey fresh milk tea (which i got 50% sweetness) and it was good, but just tasted like a regular green/jasmine milk tea. i personally wouldn't come back to this location, unless a friend really wanted boiling point and it was late at night and this one closes the latest. read more

It's in a recently renovated plaza, so the outside looks very modern & they made some slight changes inside as well. Out of the other locations I've been to, I'd say this one is probably the biggest. Wait times can be long depending on what day & time you go. Each soup comes with rice or vermicelli & green tea or winter melon tea if you come during the lunch special (11AM to 3PM). My favorite is the beef hot soup! The servers also walk around to ask if you want free soup refills. You can ask them to turn off your fire at any time as well. Removed a star because the spice levels are inconsistent. I always get medium spice, but there have been times where it was just way too spicy. I do have a good spice tolerance & am able to eat it, but there comes a point where it's hard to enjoy if it's too spicy. Just a warning to those who can't handle spice well! read more

It saddens me to say that my go-to hotpot spot in college... is not my go-to no longer. After a few disappointing visits, I write this review with a sadden and broken heart. I will not be returning to Boiling Point. What used to flavorful spicy soup, hot and warm in my belly, ingredients fresh and spices dancing on my tongue. Now to odd spicy levels, ingredients that are NOT fresh, and the milk tea going down the drain. It's drastic how bad this place has fallen. #7 Mushroom veggie, bean curd not fresh. Veggies need to be cooked longer before coming out to the table, it doesn't cook fast enough on the pot. The service is on a whole other level, the waitlist system is so poorly designed. Why do I have to turn on location services? I'm already in the area waiting around. It seemed like some people were checking in on a paper waitlist too? Confusion. Management really needs to step up on training their staff. It is clear that waiters are confused and lacking service to customers. They just walk around looking busy but will never loop back to your table. The poor robot delivered our hot pot, but our food sat on the platform "waiting for assistance." I had to flag down a waiter to serve our pots. Even the robot is working harder than their staff. As of January 2026, they are still doing the birthday deal which is a free small pot and free drink. While the deal has a great value, it may not be worth the restaurant experience. The party I came with were not happy with the meal. So sad, truly. At one point this Boiling Point location had two stores in the same plaza. Now even with one store, it looks like they're going downhill. read more

Went there on a Sunday night and had a typical wait of about 20 mins. Was disappointed when we checked in to see several (5-6) items were unavailable and by the time we got our table, only 1 was unavailable! That said, food is good, but service (for others) was disappointing. Thankfully our table had everything correct as far as food and the bill, but in our section of four tables, three tables had incorrect food items brought out and one had an error in their bill. Medium spice is ok, if you don't like spice I wouldn't recommend anything moreover.. ok I feel like the reason for it missing the spot this time, is that the meat was not that good, and idk if it was this specific time, but it was pink and it just could not cook fully to a crisp in the boiling broth, maybe it's meant to be like that, im not sure, but I never remember the meat being cold even after sitting in boiling broth for 20+ minutes. Also we ordered app's and they came like 15-20 mins after our pot came out, and again the meat was cold, this was after asking twice for the meat. This used to be my go-to spot back when I was in college. I went again this past weekend after not having gone for a few years and was terribly disappointed. We got there around 12:30 pm and got seated around 1pm. You would think this was prime lunch hour, but they were out of so many things already. Our group ordered the Thai, lamb, & miso pots and they were ALL out already. It was only 1pm with a lot of people still waiting at the door. Service was just okay. The young man helping us had a "trainee" shirt on, so I'll cut him some slack. He wasn't bad or rude by any means, but I think he could've just used some basic training. For example, instead of just laughing uncomfortably/being awkward when he told us something was out, he could've been more serious/professional about it (maybe it was nervous laughs?). And also, it would've saved everyone's time if he could've let us know BEFORE we ordered which pots were out, instead of us ordering, him saying it's out, ordering a new pot, and him saying it's out again. Lastly, my friend got the mango iced tea and it tasted AWFUL. My free green tea tasted better than her upgraded mango tea I do miss their Hokkaido milk tea though. My favorite hot pot place, this review is long over due. I've been to multiple locations in the LA area and now OC, and the food never disappoints. I always order the milk cream curry with mild spice with a side of tofu skin, highly recommend! All hot pots are pre-made and cannot be customized or combined with others (at least, that's what I've been told). One pot can feed two people if you're willing to share, but honestly, the soup is so good you probably won't want to! You can choose your spice level: mild, medium, hot, or flaming. I always stick to mild, and it's the perfect amount of heat for me. Lychee drink a bit sweet for me and had so much pulp, didn't quite like it. Prefer the mango aloe drink however they were out of it and was not available. Customer service is good but could be better when it comes to checking in on customers. Sometimes, we have to flag them down multiple times for refills or other requests. Wait times can vary, but they tend to get longer during dinner hours. By 6 PM, you can expect a line, and sometimes they even cut off the waitlist. You can't call and reserve, first come first serve basis, and check in is through a kiosk.
