This is a fun place to dine out if you have not been in one before. Since it is franchise and chains, it is not hard to find one near you. Basically it is just like regular Chinese style hot pot but instead everyone share the same hot pot, you have your own with relatively small one. The nice thing is you pick your own type of hot pot out of 10, like original stinky tofu, seafood, Thai and so for. It is a great experience and fun if you have few friends to share different one. Now the bad part is it is quite expensive base on the quality and quantity of food you get. I think the whole ingredients only cost them less than $5 but you pay like $15. What a rid off. With bubble tea as drink, your bill could cost you over $25 per person easily. Therefore one time is good enough. read more

The worst service I have ever been given. I've been to BP numerous times, normally I would expect their service to lack a little because it's so crowded and always busy that it's easy to miss a table. This however was NOT the case. Besides another couple, me and a few friends were the only ones there. After taking our order, they didn't seem to come back unless we got their attention. We asked for 5 rice, only got three. We asked for corn, they didn't inform us until we asked about it again that it was sold out. BUT WAIT, the group who came after us ordered corn AND GOT IT. Wtf?!?! Done. So done. I don't know if they don't serve you water but you're suppose to get it yourself...? There wasn't a sign for that nor did someone tell us. Oh, Boiling Point, how I loathe thee. Let me count the ways... There are so many things wrong with Boiling Point I almost don't know where to begin. I'll grant them a very positive star for cleanliness, but on service and decor they lose one and for food they lose two. The overpriced bill was the final nail in the coffin. The place is clean, but the tables and chairs have obviously been designed for very short people. I sat down and felt like a kindergartener as both my knees popped. I felt like Gulliver in Lilliput, and I'm only 6-feet tall. Service was tolerable, but the food was abysmal. Fresh Enoki mushrooms should not be rubbery, cabbage should not be astringent, and clams should never, ever have that much grit. Sadly, the best part of my dish was the tripe, better even than the beef in my bowl. And I really don't enjoy the taste of fresh tripe, so that's saying something. Worst of all, I would say they're grossly overpriced. Given the quality of cooking/ingredients they put in the pot, you can do a lot better for about a third less. So if you guys follow me and my reviews, you guys know that I gave Boiling Point two tries at Chinatown and Bellevue location, and my experience was horrible. BUT I decided to give Redmond Boiling Point a opportunity. My first impression was that business was small. Before I order any type of soup, I always ask my server what their soup base is. (I can't eat pork) My server seemed clueless with everything I asked him. Every soup base was supposedly all "beef" base. I ordered Thai Tom yum soup with sides and also a Hokkaido milk tea (which was amazing btw!!!!!!). First sip of the soup, I was like mmm this is not bad at all!!! And the two dipping sauce they have were very satisfying. I suggest you guys to mix the two together and wallaaaaa, a delicious sauce! One thing I will never understand is why it's not possible for two different checks for one table. The lady server really had me calculate my total for the bill. Like are you serious!!!!!??! When i'm craving for hot pot this is the place to go. I love boiling point so much, especially this location in Redmond. All the other location I've been too, I had to wait 30 min to 2 hour wait. But not for Redmond. I always get seated right away even with a group of five people. I like how you get your own little pot of food. There's already a menu with all the flavor of soup you get so it's not like the traditional hot pot that everything comes on the side and put it in but still taste amazing. My personal flavor of the hot pot here is the #4(which is the beef soup and one of the most popular pick) and the Thai one. Yesterday my friend and I were there around 1:30pm.There was only one waitress so everything went slowly. Nobody in front of us in the waiting line and soon there was one 3-person table available. This busy waitress ignored us. After another 10 minutes waiting, we kindly checked with her to see if she could settle us since my young toddler was hungry. That waitress suddenly freaked out, shouted that she was the only person and too busy, and she threw away the dirty dishcloth to the available table over two customers' heads. We were shocked!!! We never expected a waitress would do such a horrible thing and shouted to customers. After that she directly went to clean another 2-person table but just left us waiting there. This place is definitely worth trying if you are a hot pot fan. The special part about Boiling Point is that their pots are personal. My favorite is the Milk Cream Curry pot. The Boiling Point here is not as good as the ones in Bellevue and Seattle, in my opinion. First of all, the space is almost half the size of the Bellevue location. I was seated in a corner and had to squeeze in between another table, where another couple was seating at the moment, to get to my table. And lastly, the service wasn't really good. The person who sat me seemed to have an attitude towards me. It took a while for my black tea to come, but I can forgive them for that because there was another family ahead of me that placed an order. However, my food did come pretty quickly. I just wanna commend one of the waitresses, I can't remember her name, but she was very polite and asked me how I was doing. Other than her, the other people didn't really check how other people were doing. It took me a while to get another waiter/waitress's attention. I'm writing to you to report a horrible customer experience that my group and I experienced in Boiling Point @ Redmond, WA on 4/30 at around 7 PM. We were a group of 5 people, and we departed from same location with 3 cars. I arrived at the restaurant first and signed up for next seat available. I was the first in line, and the restaurant did not have a table for 5 at the time so I waited. I saw a table of 4 being ready to head out, and told the waiter that I'd like that table and combine with a 2 people table so there's large enough table for a group of 5. The waiter acknowledged my request and said OK. I then told him that I have to go to the toilet and will come out for the table to be made ready, and he replied OK. After I came out of the toilet, I soon discovered that the smaller 2-people table was occupied and there was no longer a table for 5 people. I asked what's going on, and a waitress claiming that she's in charge told me that since my parties have not arrived, they have given the table to someone else. Just then, my party members were at the door and she kept on explaining that the waiter did not know the policy such that they can't give tables if the party member didn't arrive. I questioned her that how would she know that my party members were not around and she couldn't answer. Furthermore I explained to her that I was first in line and she kept on saying that they don't take reservations. I rarely had such horrible customer experience at a restaurant, and our group decided to go somewhere else. This is totally unacceptable. read more

Its staff and environment are friendly (Taiwanese style, not Chinese style). And its prices are pretty good to boot. Boiling Point is a Taiwanese-based chain, and this is the second boiling point on the East side (the other is next to Facing East in Bellevue). This chain appears to be less crowded (it's still crowded, but not hour wait bonkers). They specialize in 'personalized' hot pot, in which you get a small personal sizzling pot to eat; this is in contrast to the 'family style' hot pot (e.g. Little Sheep) in which everyone shares the same pot. As it is 'personalized', there's no 'all you can eat'; all the ingredients, beyond the base materials are a-la-cart. Don't let that dissuade you, the combinations of material in the base pot are nicely combined to give you a variety of complementary flavors and eats. We always opt for the spicy pots and they have a nice variety to choose from... ranging from Taiwanese special to Thai. All the base pots have some unique spices, with a combo of veggies, carbs, and proteins (meats, seafood, and tofu). You can get a variety of interesting add-ons if you don't find the base to be sufficient (go for ramen and lamb). You get a side of rice, and for lunch you also get a complimentary 'tea'--not a milk tea, just a tea; it's still pretty good. If the free add-on tea is not enough, there's all the usual milk tea (and slushy) to choose from. Above all, I recommend the Hokkaido milk tea. There's really no way to describe the flavor, you just have to try it; it's creamy yummy delicious. The staff and environment adhere to the Taiwanese playbook (this is not your usual crass Chinese service), which emphasizes politeness and tidiness. It's good. The price is surprisingly affordable. Hot pot, even if you do it at home, can be pretty expensive; the sliced meets are not cheap. While they don't give too much of the expensive stuff, they give you interesting combinations of stuff that would cost you a lot if you tried all the ingredients (e.g. we got a crab with our Taiwanese spicy pot). The staff is as important as the food, period. At this location, there is little regard for customer experience. Not much eye contact, no checking in to see how everything is, your on your own and your veggies will get overcooked, as you cannot turn off the pot with out the little paddle to snuff out the fire. I ordered the vegetarian soup and the broth was like water (they have no salt no soy sauce btw, had to flag waiter down to find out) And in addition to this, this place is really small, so when the staff members/member behind the counter behave like a 12 year old barking out laughter and talking loud as if the place is your own living room and the customers are an after thought, it's really distracting and inconsiderate. I don't think this place is good for any person who come alone. They are too busy. I went there by myself around 2:00pm today, I waited until they call my number. Got a seat right near the window, then waiting for the menu for about half hour until I felt not hungry anymore. Then the end... the menu never come. No one came by give me the menu or water or anything (I waved my hand once ask for the menu and the waitress told me just a moment), during the waiting a person come after me and another groups after me were having and finished their lunch already. This is consistent like every other boiling point in the country. The location is a little small but probably not much smaller than the Bellevue location (probably similar in size actually). i am very happy with my visit to this location. my friend and i came in at one of the peak times (lunch time around noon) on the worst day - sunday - but we got lucky and only had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated. the inside is small compared to the tukwila and seattle (international district / chinatown) location but it has the best customer service out of all the locations IMO. i was very hesitant coming to this location since it my first time coming to the redmond location and i had just had a horrible experience at the bellevue location. i've only gone to seattle and tukwila locations (i switch between the 2 depending on how busy both locations are) but i was pleasantly surprised coming into the redmond location and will definitely be returning when i can. the staff really made this trip for my friend and i. when we first for in, they had just seated their last table available that was meeting social distancing standards so we had to put our phone number in but the worker, Ruby, was extremely nice. she had explained that we needed to put our number in since they had just seated the last open table. once i put my number in she went out of her way to make sure that i got my text before leaving the building and gave us an ETA on when our table would be ready (15-20 minutes). as soon as we got seated after getting our text that the table is ready and we were ready to order, she came over with a new trainee and was helping her out since it was her first day. she was very patient with the trainee and was going over the items we ordered with the trainee to make sure they correctly put it and making sure it was right with us. once we got our meals, she checked up on us to make sure the soups were good and made sure we refreshments like water cups. she was also very proficient with cashing us out when we were ready to pay. Ruby really made our trip to boiling point and our day. both my friend and i greatly appreciate her hard work during this time and it doesn't go unnoticed. if i could, i would rate customer service 10/5 stars. the food was really great too. both my friend and i got #4 beef with a side of white rice and the complimentary iced black tea upgraded to a large for an extra $1. it is definitely worth the price including the service we got. i highly recommend the redmond location. read more
